User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju gave the Haka a sharp smile. Now that was a dream come true. A Haka that had a good healthy love for the artistic beauty of words and pictures. Now that was him. He much preferred the beauty of growing the real things but he was eager to see how good he'd be in trying to capture his beautiful flowers on a piece of parchment. As a young Gehaka he had actually taken to drawing before he was forced to persue botany. Now, flowers and art combined. That would really be something.

Enju was too excited and thoughtful to speak he merely nodded to the Haka. He really didn't want to leave but this Haka was so..interesting, plus he was alone and it would be only right to excort him to town. Enju thought it would be funny if he got the Hak to swim, that would be something.

Masae stole a sideways glance at the Gehaka. He was quiet. Masae liked that. If he was to ever consider taking a Gehaka he would have to know they could keep to themselves and know their place.
"Well," he bagan. "I hope you have no objections to accompanying me back to my residence. As you can see I rather foolishly came out alone."

This was the first time he had ever sized up a Gahaka. His mother had been throwing them in front of him for months and he had turned his nose up at each and every one. Now he was away from home he could see what they meant. Status. Something Masae desperatly needed. He didn't want to sponge off of Ryuu for the rest of his life.

Enju shook his head, showing he didn't mind at all. His grin seemed stuck as he began to grab his shirt and basket of fish that seemed to sunned dry already. Enju had actually been show a lot to many Haka and some were interested in owning him. A few actually. Usually after seeing him fight they were so impressed they put down offeres right there. Of course, his mother wasn't so eager to let him go, instead building up his reputation first (and fixing it, when he messed up).

His body was well defined, he had a handsome face, the only thing wrong was the many scars and bruises he had. Some Haka didn't like that too much, despite his great repuatation as a fighter. Either way, he didn't mind, just as long as he wasn't given to a horribly glib and uncreative Haka. Enju was curious about how far he be playful with this Haka. He seemed fairly serious, very intelligent. Enju always had an air of playfullness about him and his wolfish grin didn't help dim it. One Enju was dried off sufficiently, he offered his arm, since walking along to the path would be somewhat rocky.

User Image"N-no, they're not bruises," Sei said, ducking his head slightly and blushing deeply. He rubbed at one, and it smeared, showing clear honey-colored skin beneath as he ducked to scrub at his skin with one hand. He wasn't saying anything about the smaller ones which -were- bruises; often he couldn't avoid them. He was not exactly the most graceful Gehaka in the bunch. "I'm an artist when I'm not working for my mother," Seichou explained gently, with a sweet smile. "I prefer to use charcoal, and it isn't exactly the -neatest- medium that exists for art." He nearly -cooed- as he lowered himself into the cool water, wings stretching and nearly vibrating, something like a shiver.

User ImageShizuka came close to Sei, standing out of the water so that his dark green trousers showed, though they clung tightly to his sinewy body. He watched as the dark marks faded with the slightest application of water and was satisfied knowing that this sweet Gehaka wasn't being abused as some may be...

"Art... I've never been very talented in drawing, but I guess you could consider carving out and engraving boats an art? I can see that it's not the neatest... you really had me believing that you were terribly hurt... do you draw often?" he asked quietly, looking innocently at Sei. "What do you do for your mother?"

"Come deeper in the water, Sei," Shi said, noticing what he thought was a shiver. "It's not as cold farther out... and you're... erm... you won't be noticed as much..."

Masae watched the Gehaka properly for the first time as he gathereed his belongings. Was he handsome? Masae had no idea, he never really bothered to think of their kind in that way. His mother had kept his sheltered from the company of most haka and well out of the reach of any unknown gehaka. She was a hypochondriac, afraid that the smallest spec of dirt might make her precious son sick.
He noted the bruises, beatings? Enju didn't seem like the kind to be disobedient. Masae was tempted to ask, but for the time being kept his thoughts to himself.

Masae looked at the Haka's arm as if it were a foreign object.
"I can manage on my own." He said waving his fan is a dismissive gesture. The thought of being so close to a Gehaka made him shudder. It was nothing personal to Enju, who's company was quite plesant. Just a complex he had, brought on by his mother's paranoia.
"What would you say is your favourite flower?" He asked, his brisk tone easing a little as they walked.

User ImageObeying the other, Seichou allowed himself to slide deeper into the water, sighing deeply as the water warmed against his skin, cleansing him and relaxing the tension out of his lean form. He cupped both long-fingered hands and splashed himself, blissfully sinking in the coolness. "I would consider boat-carving an art, yes," he said softly, companionably, "because it takes creativity... and working with one's hands is often art." He took a moment, in which a low pleased thrumming sounded in his throat, arching his back and stretching, wetting his hair. The soft black fell around his face in wet mats, drops of water stained with charcoal and dust dripping down his cheeks.

"I do pretty much anything for my mother," Sei said softly, absently. "I wake everyone up in the morning, and help in the kitchen to prepare breakfast, I help his husbands do their jobs, and often I'm the last person asleep in our home. I lock up at night, also."

Enju smiled and returned his arm to his side, beginning to lead the way, picking the dryer rocks to step on before it got to the paved path. One thing Enju was always uncomfortable about was not being able to speak openly to another Haka. His mother allowed him to talk a bit freely then most others.

Enju made it to the dirt path, fixing hs kimono top and his trousers so he didn't look like a complete mess. His kimono was open and a lovely black with orange swirls on the end of it. Again, as many of his kimono tops, it had a small design of a sun on it. It was nothing really, but a symbol for himself. He awaited the Haka patiently, putting the lid that was attached to the basket on top of the fish.

User ImageShizuka was thankful for his own sake that Sei had finally come deeper into the water. It also pleased him the Sei wasn't so hot and the charcoal was coming off, but mostly Shi was glad that he didn't have to blush at Sei's nakedness anymore...

"I never considered it an art... that makes me feel better to think of myself as an 'artist' rather than just a boat carver..." he was silent a few minutes as Sei settled himself and stretched in the water.

"My mother's Gehakas do all of the house chores, mostly. My only duty is to take out the waste before I get to work... my mother considers me her best carver, so I'm out early as well... we have several of the most beautiful boats ever made, in my opinion..." Shi said, a faraway look in his eyes. Suddenly he wondered if he sounded like he was boasting, "Erm... not that I'm conceited or anything... I just enjoy what I do more than anything else in the world. More than swimming or even flowers... if I could spend the rest of my life carving boats, I would..."

Masae made his way slowly but steadily, used to the binding kimono and high sandals. He watched the back of the gehaka's kimono with interest. It was a nice simple design. Like many things in life, Masae hated confused overloaded designs.
"I asked you a question." He said to Enju his brow furrowed. "What is your favourite flower?"

Slipping his fan into his Obi once more he lifted his kimono slightly to make dodging the wet ground easier. "Or maybe that is too personal a question?"

"It is nothing," he said and looked at the other. He glazed back at the river. "It's a pleasant day." He sat back down, resting his head on his knees. He wasn't to sure how to talk to the other Haka. He didn't want to cause any unrest with a house he didn't know. He had just chosen his first mate; he didn't need someone planing an assaination attempt.

Kageki glazed back at Shinji and nodded back pleasently. He glazed at his cousin and the Haka.

All of them were so beautiful and amazing to him he couldn't very well choose just one. He smirked at the Haka's smart little remark at the end, crossing his arms.

"No no, it's not personal. I can't choose one, I'm afraid. I do like the orchid family though."

He shifted the side of the basket to his other side of his waist. He grinned at him, glancing fully at the Haka when he was sure he wasn't looking. He lost himself, being the mischevious Gehaka he was and spoke to him quietly.

"What about you, what's your favorite flower?"

Masae supressed a small smile. Orchid's were Ryuu's favourite flower too. There were often various arrangements around the house containing them. Masae had come to recognise and enjoy their sweet smell.
"I'm afraid my favourite is highly unoriginal." He said as the stepped onto the paved path. "The Cherry Blossom. So simple and delicate. It blooms for us for a week, maybe too and then it's gone until the next year." He sighed, his eyes searching the trees for any of the familiar pink buds.

There were few, the weather still too cool. "I like lillys too. Such a wonderful fragrance. Don't you agree?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju smiled at the Haka's choice. He always thought Sakura were very classy and beautiful as well, even if many liked them. Lily's were also beautiful, he loved seeing them in the water, their pads floating serenly over koi as they swan around under it.

"Mm, I agree. I love all flowers, none are unoriginal to like..."

He was speaking quietly, more than usual just because he was a bit worn out from swimming. He'd been there since sun rise, when the water had still been frosty on the surface.

Now they were on a safer path Masae once more pulled the fan from his obi and flicked it open. He had never thought that a gehaka could take interest in such delicate things as flowers. Then again he had never really spoken to one at length other than to bark orders and issue punishments.

"Do you often swim?" He asked shielding his face with his fan, the sun had come out and he hadn't brought his parasol. It was frustrating having such pale skin. "It must be relaxing."
