Totchli fidgeted a bit before nodding. "This way... be careful," he warned as he led her in through the best path. He kept glancing over his shoulder to ensure she was still with him.

"Don't worry about me," Natasha assured him. "I am an excellent swimmer."

"That's not what I'm worried about," Totchli muttered. He led her to a hallow in the reef where he slept. All his little trinkets were neatly lined and added to the vibrant colors of his home. He glanced around until he spotted the small hole where the dolphin usually hid. "Velvet... we're moving."

"Oh my!" Natasha squeaked as she noticed all the baubles. "Shiny!"

Totchli glanced at her, confused for a moment. Then he realized she was looking at his trinkets. "Ah... yes... things I've collected.... Velvet, come out now," he kept his voice gentle when he spoke to the tiny dolphin. "This is Natasha. You can trust her."
Velvet peeked out so that only her nose was visible, trembling nervously.

"Oh!" she squeaked ever so softly upon seeing the sea creature. "Why, she's lovely!" she whispered.

"She's very shy," Totchli informed Natasha. "But she likes to organize things. She's been living here with me for... awhile." He had lost track of how long exactly. "I look after her, and she cleans after me."
Velvet emerged a little more, still quivering and eyeing Natasha shyly.

"She seems quite lovely," 'Tash said softly. "What a sweetheart."

"I suppose she is," Totchli said, dubiously. He lifted a leg so that the familiar could duck under it and tuck herself against his body, nearly blending in with his own pale body. "She's quiet."

He wouldn't have called the dolphin remarkable. But then he didn't have much frame of reference. He decided to trust Natasha's judgement. He was about to ask if she was ready to go and hesitated, looking around at the trinkets he had collected. They didn't mean too terribly much... but they were his, and he was somewhat reluctant to leave them behind. "Can we.... perhaps return for my things? After we've gotten Velvet settled?"

Natasha gasped and looked at the baubles, "Oh of course! I bet my uncle has something was can borrow to carry everything back at once!" She grinned and kicked her tail a little, hoping not to scare the dolphin. "Well then, are you two ready to go?"

While Velvet hid her face against his body, Totchli nodded. Part of him wondered if this was fair to Velvet. Maybe it would be better to leave the timid little creature where she felt more comfortable. But then again, he couldn't imagine that being alone would be better than being in an unfamiliar place. He'd just have to keep an eye on her... As much as he could, anyway. He led Natasha out of the reefs, always careful of the dolphin that was trying her hardest to blend into his side.

"We'll go slow," Natasha assured him softly, doing her best not to startle the skittish animal. "Just follow me."

He nodded and followed along behind her, half his attention on the little dolphin, and half of it on the mare that returned for him. He still wasn't certain why but... she was obviously a rarity. Such a thing needed to be protected. He wasn't going to lose that... and if Velvet didn't do well wherever they went, Totchli would just have to find somewhere better for her.
