Vesin couldn't help but smile when the other girl followed them. Once firmly in place next to their darling brother, Ves was on alert for any dragonets heading their way. It was then that she noticed the gold egg had a crack in it. But introductions were happening, so she decided to wait to point it out. Thankfully, Vos introduced them all. She gave another soft smile as the girl introduced herself as Zen. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Zen. Growing up on a fishing boat must have been interesting!" She commented before she heard some squeals from the Invasive hatchling which seemed to cause another egg to hatch. "Oh look, another brown from the suspicious egg! And did you notice the gold egg has a crack?" Her voice was quiet yet it held excitement. She wondered if any of the boys had noticed them yet.

Kalendol was biting her lip by now, the dragonets were continuing to hatch, and it would appear a green had somehow taken a fancy to Jamarin. 'Aw, that's cute~!' She thought as she watched the little baby n** at Jamarin's clothing.

With the bloodshed out of the way, courtesy of the three greens, things seemed to settle, for the time being at least. The alliance of the first two greens seemed to be quickly crumbling now that the threat had been neutralized (maybe), as they began to posture. Were they really going to fight again. More eggs rocked and cracked, including the gold egg, but that was of only passing interest to Maldryk. Let the girls fawn over that one!
A fourth green approached the boys, snooping around. When it passed near him, investigating, he stilled, slightly wary of it after the earlier violence, but it soon moved on. To...hassle Jamarin? Hmm.
Another brown emerged, much paler than his brother. Hopefully that wasn't all that was different about him!

The Guiding blue had sat back down besides his mother after the Keep Out brown had been turned from his path and there he had remained for the most part.
He stood suddenly though and a flash of yellow crossed his eyes as he took a couple steps towards the boys, eyes fixed on the Invasive green. He creeled at her when she snapped at a candidate's clothing. He chirped again, moving back among the eggs as he called to her with his head tilted. Despite the calm blue his eyes returned to, his wings fluttered with a touch of anxiety.
With so many hatchlings on the sands it was getting chaotic but that didn't stop yet another egg from splitting it's shell. The Crystalized Egg fractured from within with barely a wiggle. Jagged cracks giving way to little fragments of shell that trickled away from the occupant within. A shifting of movement could be seen but in the dim light the color of the hatching dragon was hard to distinguish. Those who weren't watching the brewing emotions on the Sands would catch the flash of green glowlight reflecting off a vibrant blue/green eye.

Jikkiri
Jikkiri nodded, taking Emmitod's ankles as Lucayr took the older candidate's shoulders. There was so much blood, so much... It was horribly upsetting, and his hands kept slipping in the blood as they carried him to the healers station. When they finally reached it, it was at the very verge of being too far for Jikkiri, and his helper, to handle.
As he set the boy down for the healers, he had no idea how much danger he actually was in...
Malta and Poecileth
Malta and some colleagues took the limp body of the boy and got him down on their operating station. He was badly injured, Malta could see that, and as she began to try to work on him, she could see that it was nearly futile: he was badly injured, losing blood from too many places and, from the way he coughed and sputtered, she suspected a rupture in his lungs. She did what she could...
Emmitod
Emmitod felt light and drifty and the pain faded into something amusing. He didn't have the energy to laugh at it, but he grinned, wetness soaking his lips in an oddly warm way. His eyelids fluttered and, dreamlike, he was aware of being handled, of people bustling about him... of things happening.
Soon, it was too much effort to hold his eyes open, too hard to stop himself from drifting away. And why would he want to? He was finally waking up from this dream of reality. A shame it would all end, but if it was time, so it was time.
He breathed a few more haggard breaths before stopping.
Exit Emmitod he thought, as oblivion settled onto him, Stage Right
Malta and Poecileth
Malta knew that to attempt CPR was a useless endeavor. It would only kill the boy more, if it was possible. She checked his pulse, turned to her colleague and shook her head. They agreed, moving the boy's body to the side.
“You two...” she said to Jikkiri and Lucayr, her sadness only mostly masked by her hasty tone of voice, “You need to go back to the others.”
Poecileth noted the little blue's behavior. Odd thought the dragon That he should protest to that, but who was she to judge a hatchling's psychology?
Jikkiri
“All right...” Jikkiri said, deflated. He walked back slowly, looking at the red on his hands. He wasn't having fun anymore.

Jamarin
Jamarin did not like where Keep out was looking. He tensed, his low growl a strangled mimic of the dragon's own. What he'd thought about biting the dragon back, that was double for his brother. He clenched and unclenched his fists, watching the brown and definitely not above doing something shaffing moronic to protect his soft pudgy twin. Slowly, his eyes never leaving the Brown threat, he moved towards where Jikkiri was rejoining the group...
And then, suddenly, his wary concentration was interrupted by a little, angry green. “What?!” Jamarin exclaimed at Invasive, moving his legs out of reach, “What do you want?!” he glanced over at his brother, then the brown, then back at the little green who seemed to want to claw at his clothes.

C'per and Rugarth
Rugarth had been watching the proceedings eagerly. The hatchlings were an active lot, but hatchlings usually were. It was rare to have a hatching without some blood or ichor spilled on the sand, but nobody was dead or gone between yet. Or...was there? One boy had been wounded and dragged off to the healers, but it was hard to see what was happening there. Ah well, he'd find out soon enough.
There were quite a few greens so far, but that was to be expected. They were the most common color after all. And the blue was attentive and seemed to be watching out for his siblings, though less actively than some of the greens. Perhaps he would make a good Watchdragon when he was grown.
And the browns. Rugarth gave a pleased hum as each of the browns hatched. He was understandably partial to browns, and didn't mind terribly much that one was mauling Candidates. It happened, though he did hope nobody was seriously injured. For one thing, they might yet Impress, and they'd need to be able to care for their bonded. And a bit of him didn't want to see children hurt too badly, dragons or humans.

VesreshThis time, as he was jostled into Jaric, he did squeak – with apology. Still, he stuck close to the other boy, hoping for safety in numbers... if not his sisters. There was more jostling – and a very upsetting metallic smell – and suddenly Esre found himself in the safest place he could imagine: between his two sisters. He started to cry, his hands seeking Vesin and Vosin's hands on either side. “Thank you..” he snuffled, wiping his face on his shoulder. He'd have preferred it not to be quite so exciting but... as long as they were with him... He'd be okay. “Thank you...” he said again. A stranger joined them, someone he didn't know. Managing a weak smile – his first since the hatching had started – he looked at Zen. “Hello.” he said, feeling shy, but warm – in a very good way. He was safe, among his family, even if the newcomer... Zen... was talking about some not so nice things. “Fish?” he said, surprised. He didn't know anything at all about them. “They can do that?” Then, of course, his attention was taken by the dragons. As another brown hatched, he gave his sister's hands a little squeeze for comfort. Browns had, so far, not been the best of things. Mazaah (Concept Entry)Maz frowned. Hey, lady she thought, giving the squealing redhead a look, Is this really the time? There was blood on the sands and she could bet that, from the way the older guy over at the healer's looked, he wasn't going to be walking anytime soon. Or... she thought, her stomach churning as the healers set the very, very still form aside, At all(Edited)

There was almost too much going on to focus on one thing at a time. And Avalinia wasn't sure if she was terrified or fascinated by the actions of the hatchlings. Perhaps a mixture of both? Her heart was certainly pounding rapidly as she stared at the fighting greens and the mean brown (well she thought him mean still) - who terrorized the male candidates! - and yet another green...
She felt a little dizzy with trying to keep up, and instead kept inching closer to the other girls around her. Not really a fan of crowds, for today, she felt safer in one. Sort of.
Those hatchlings were certainly beautiful, despite their... behavior!

Admittedly Kalendol was becoming slightly put out. The boys were hogging all the attention! The way it looked, the girls were not going to get any dragonets coming their way with the way that things were seeming to go along. But, the girl didn't mind too much, so long as the guys saved some dragonets for the rest of them. For now, the girl began to rock back and forth on her heels, until she heard Jamarin shout at one of the little ones. Irritation sparked within her, and she glanced at the boy who'd become her friend. Why was he so irritated with the little green? He should feel honored she'd gone to him!

Whelp, this was getting a bit Interesting. She didn't blame the twins for sneaking off to stand with their little brother, she was kind of worried about Jamarin and Jikkiri herself though not quite enough to shift from her position.
Vee watched as a candidate was carried off, unmoving, and her brow furrowed; forget whers, baby dragons were shaffing vicious! Still, any one of the ones on the sands right now could be for her. Despite its violence or maybe because of it she still liked that brown and she liked the two greens who'd been fighting too, a tough dragon like that that'd face down a great brute like the brown would do well for her too.
As another brown hatched and that calm blue started to fuss Vee smoothed a hand over her freshly shaved head, swiping away sweat. It was hot here, way too hot with her jerkin on, but after seeing that kid get carried away bleeding so badly she'd be shocked if he made it she was glad to have the thick leather. Course if a dragon came at her like that she fully intended to leg it but those things were sharding fast so it might not matter even if she did try to get out of the way.

Vosin
"Pleasure Zen. Good luck with the hatching. I didn't realize boats were so dangerous. Tell us about it some time if we all make it through this." She said half joking. There seemed to be more high-stress dragonets than not right now. Though that brown was calming down, so it was a good sign.
She blinked as a green took offence to one of the boy's clothing. Well, maybe that's why the candidates wore white robes? It didn't look like the green was actually trying to harm him though. A newly hatched brown drew her attention with his flapping. She was concerned about the color of his eyes, but he wasn't showing aggression. Hopefully he'd find his fast.
A comment from Ves caught her attention from boats and browns. "Really?" She commented, mildly interested. Everyone wanted to know who got the gold. Vos peered at the gold egg. Hmmmm. Was that crack? Was the gold spying on the candidates before she emerged? Her attention was pulled back from the eggs yet again by a hand grabbing hers.
Vosin gave a chuckle, "what are sisters for?" This had been the right move. Ves was right. Vos gave a nod to her sister.

When the healers moved Emmitod's body aside, Lucayr bowed his head, giving a solemn moment to the passing. He turned and scanned the sands, noting the new hatchling. Another brown. A few more eggs had cracked, including the Gold. He moved back towards the eggs, taking long strides to a spot nearby the other boys, but close to the Suspicious brown. If it was anything like its vicious brother, someone might need to act as a lure if it chose to attack. And browns appealed to Lucayr, oh yes they did.

She gratefully took Esre's hand and gave it a little squeeze after his. Him holding her hand was just as much a comfort to her as it was to him. "Of course. You know we always have your back." She said giving him a little nudge. There was so much going on from a green biting a boys clothing to another egg hatching. It made her a little worried about all the dragons running about and none of them seeming to be searching for theirs. Were all these changes too much on the poor dragonets? Was their being on the boy's side making things even worse? Or them not wearing candidates robes? It was definitely an interesting concept, something that might be worth bringing up later. "I think we'll be okay...and we will definitely have to have you tell us about it!" She was trying to be optimistic, but the big blood stain on the sands wasn't very encouraging.

See here came a couple other dragons. Tch. Apparently boys were in this turn. Zen would have probably said something if Vesin hadn't pointed out the fact that the gold egg was hatching. "Took her long enough! I figured from what people were saying after the Touching little queenie would be the first one out." She raised an eyebrow down at the little boy between Vesin and Vosin. She flashed another smile at him. She lowered her voice in a semi-spooky excited whisper. She could tell a quick one now! "Oh yeah! There's this big one, with a huge spear-like nose." She opened her arms wide to emphasize it's length." Really delicious but you'd better have a whole team of sailors on your side if you hook one of those! Those things could impale two grown men and not give a shaff. Then, if the spear doesn't get you, the tail could. The body is twice as long again as the spear and weights more than you and I put together kid." "That's all considering it doesn't drag you out of the boat or snap your pole in the first place." Ok maybe it was a bit much for the young lad but she was from a fishing family. They traded in tall tales as much as they did fish and one could never resist a chance to talk about the 'one that got away!'.
