[Enter Chichi]

Chichi has finally reached the center of the town. She looked at the magnificent fountain in front of her in awe. It was a masterpiece, the delicate

Can they see me? she thought to herself.

That very idea made her feel anxious despite knowing that her feelings were irrational at best. She laughed off her sense of insecurity.

Well even if they can see me, there's really no reason for me to be scared. I've done nothing wrong after all.

She shifted uncomfortably under her thick red trench coat. The sword tucked beside her left side was wearing her down. She was not keen to carry any weapon with her but the lady at the harbor insisted on it. Chichi only finally gave in when she refused to let her board the ship heading to this island. Madeline, the lady at the harbor was still having second thoughts after Chichi accepted the sword from her and had tried to persuade her to abandon her task altogether.

"It's dangerous! Do you really have to go?" Madeline asked her nervously.

They only knew each other for less than an hour and somehow they were already shared a bond. Chichi has that effect on other people. She nodded her head in resolution.

"Yes Maddy, I have to. If I don't I will never know what had happened to my parents. This person might be my only clue to them."

The other woman didn't respond to that and just shook her head as she walked away from the harbor. Chichi still felt guilty for not calling out to her back then. She doesn't like leaving a bad impression to anyone. Her stomach growled loudly which in turn made her blushed in embarrassment. She haven't had a morsel of food since she arrived on this island nor did she encountered any unpleasant incident (which she was really grateful for).

Okay! Now I just need to look for the tavern or inn... but...which way to go?

She suddenly remembered the town map Maddy gave her just before she departed for the island. She took it out of the left pocket of her trench coat.

"Ok, let's see. I'm right here at the dragon fountain and the tavern is here." Chichi mumbled to herself.

The tavern was north of the dragon fountain but the problem was Chichi has zero sense of direction so she couldn't tell apart between her North and her South. She keep on walking aimlessly despite that while looking down on her map at the same time. She was suddenly stopped short when she bumped into a person in front of her.

"Omf!" she cried out in surprise.

The person turned around and faced her with a slight annoyance etched in her face.

"I'm so...sorry! I..I didn't see you there. I was just...I'm...well..I'm lost," Chichi stammered at the stranger. Her words jumbled up in a non-coherent chatter.

She shut her eyes in embarrassment.

Oh gosh, this person would probably think I'm an idiot now.

Leticia felt someone bump into her as she was trying to talk to Okami. Annoyed, the African American woman turned to face whoever bumped against her, but soon her annoyance vanished when she saw it was just a tiny girl. Well, she looked older than her, but she so much smaller than her, it was easy to assume she was a high school kid. And then the stammering really did it for her. She looked as lost as she sounded. Leticia felt sorry for her. "Don't be embarrassed for being lost. Everyone, unless they're some sort of living compass, gets lost. Anyways, I'm Leticia. The blue-haired girl I was talkin' to is Okami. She'll know more about the town than anyone, unless they're like 150 years old or somethin'." It was the middle of spring, the weather was warm, and this young blonde woman in front of her was wearing a trench coat she probably hijacked from the British and a sword. She wasn't a normal person as far as Leticia could tell, which meant she'd right into the town, unlike her.

Chichi opened her eyes again and finally looked at the tanned girl that she bumped into. She looked friendly and when she smiled at her, Chichi instantly warmed up to this stranger. She sorta smells nice. Chichi blushed when that sudden random thought popped up in her mind. What is wrong with me! Argh, that is so embarrassing! She flayed her arms up and down in embarrassment then she recalled where she was and was struck with horror. Both the girl and her companion were also mimicking her movement right down to her facial expression. GOT TO KEEP CONTROL! Chichi closed her eyes again and took deep calming breath. In....out....in...out. She looked back at them. The girl didn't seemed fazed at all, she didn't even look like she remembered what just happened to earlier which was something Chichi had aimed for. Leticia introduced herself and the girl she was conversing with who was called Okami. Leticia had a certain slang to her accent which Chichi found really interesting. "Oh... uhm. Hi. Nice to meet you both. My name is Chichi and I'm from the mainland. Please take care of me," Chichi stammered back at them. She was still adjusting to Leticia's presence and something about her makes Chichi feel flustered. Before they could reply to her comment, she stomach growled again, much louder than earlier. Her face lit up like a bright tomato. So that's why I'm stammering all this way, I'm just really hungry. "I'm so sorry! I'm just.. well I've travelled for a day now and I haven't had any food in me since I lost my food pouch on the way on finding this town," Chichi explained. She turned to look at the blue-haired girl named Okami and focused her attention to her. "If it's not so much trouble, is it alright if you could show me the way to the inn or tavern here? I'd really like to grab a bite to eat. As thanks I insisted you both to join me for lunch please." Chichi grabbed both Leticia's hand and Okami's with a doleful look in her eyes.

Leticia tried to figure out what Chichi meant by mainland, but all she could managed to say after all the blonde woman's stammering, arm-flailing, and begging was, "Were you named after the DB character Chichi? Uh, Dragon Ball?" The young woman was a strange person, but so was everyone else in town, so the black woman wasn't as phased by her. Leticia couldn't even resist the blonde's invitation for lunch, though she knew she wouldn't eat anything big. She didn't have enough money to spare. The African American woman needed to find another job to support herself and a decent place to live. And if not...she could find Mikora and ask for help...maybe.

Dorrie sat on a stone near the edge of the town square, watching people pass by without really noticing any of them. Without noticing much of anything at all really. Some crows sat in trees overhead of him, and he kept his hood down so that no on could see his eyes. His black eyes with blood red irises. He didn't want to scare anyone around him, the way he always seemed to.

And his age. While he was quite old, physically he appeared as a young boy, and if his face was visible, sooner or later someone meaning well would come to check on him. If he was lost or where was his mother. Then he would try to ease their worry by meeting their eyes, to show them the intelligence beyond and young boy that they held within them, and it was fear not understanding that lit their faces.

Right sorry about that ^_^" I was sort of trying to point out her powers but didn't exactly know how to go about it without interaction between the two characters (Chichi has the power to change the mood of those around her, besides her alchemy powers. Basically, if she is happy, others are happy too etc.)

Chichi was taken aback by her question. It didn't dawn to her until just now that her name were similar to that of a cartoon character."Oh wow! I didn't thought of that. No, not from Dragonball sorry to disappoint,"she said apologetically. She explained about the origin of her name. Her parents weren't exactly the imaginative type so they named her out of a whim. Then thinking about her parents, she thought about her hometown. She sighed sadly. The other must have heard her because they were now looking at her with a puzzled expression. "Ah sorry. Don't mind me. I just... Well, I've only been here for about a day but I am already missing my hometown, Hong Kong." Chichi smiled sadly at them. "Right! Well then, let's so get food! I hope they have dumplings there." She let go of their hands and waited for them to lead the way.

[The best way to point out a character's powers is to state it bluntly in their thoughts and such.

An example for Chichi: "For as long as she could remember, she had an ability beyond alchemy: Empathetic transference, the ability to transfer her feelings and emotions to other living creatures. It took some years before either she or her parents understood it, but once they did, it explained so many things in her life."

That's just one way of stating it. I had to look up exactly what it meant to understand it. Anyways, it's good you want to show it, but be sure not to force other people's characters into mimicking your character's actions. And mood doesn't always equate to actions, and some characters may not be affected by her abilities. It can never be a sure thing. Leti, for instance, is a very normal person, except for being a pickpocket-er.

Also, away from powers, could you please flesh out more of Chichi's bio? It's really confusing. I can't tell if the hospital she woke up in was in Kuro Shiro or somewhere else, so the thing about her being from Hong Kong came as a big surprise. Even if it's a nonspecific place, knowing it's not Kuro Shiro would help. And the background should match up with whatever is said in the role play. If it doesn't, make sure your character notes if he/she/they are lying or making it up as not to draw suspicion towards them. Some people don't want others pitying them, others don't want them getting too close. Each character is an individual and each have their own individual actions. However, it needs to be clear for the sake of every RP-er involved. Having a little more background helps every RP-er when it comes to interacting with your character, especially if the character is a visitor. Since Chichi is from out of town, it helps to know for describing the character and everything. I thought Chichi was a white American girl with a cute DB-inspired name. sweatdrop I mean, she could be white with a Chinese name, and be from Hong Kong, which is perfectly natural since whites do live in Hong Kong, but just knowing for sure or not helps a bunch. sweatdrop

Wow, this became longer than I originally intended. Ops. sweatdrop ]

Leticia laughed as the young woman apologized, not because she was being mean, but because she had a cute reaction, though she stopped when the blonde's expression changed. She didn't look as bubbly as moment's before. Then, when she mentioned being from Hong Kong, Leti was taken aback. Chichi didn't sound like she was from out of state, but most people in this town probably weren't originally from here. "Alright, alright, this town's got everything, so I'm sure you'll find whatever you're looking for," said Leti as dozens of papers flew through the sky and settled on bulletin boards, benches, and windows.

Picking up one of them, Leticia saw it was a flier and read it before showing it to Okami and Chichi.

Where: The Sanchez Manor

Info: Nice and comfortable rooms for rent, with very friendly landlords. Rent and rules will be discussed in person.

Only serious inquiries please.

"It seems legit to me," she said to the two women. It would be nice to know where this Sanchez Manor was, but then again, everyone who lived in town probably knew where it was. Kuro Shiro was a small town after all.

From the corner of his gaze, Aoi saw paper flying through the air and settling in every place it could be noticed by a resident or visitor of the little town. One of the flying pieces of paper landed on his lap. It advertised for room rental in some placed called the Sanchez Manor. The name was familiar to the elemental. It took a few moments, but when he finally remembered where he heard it from, he sighed. One of the people who died at the ball was called Sanchez. The family must be trying to rack in the money after the main money source was killed. Ah, but he wouldn't tell that to Kira, she would feel responsible even though it was the dragon's actions that led to the Sanchez man's death. "This is an advertisement for a room. One of the locals is renting out their home to people," he explained to the fire elemental. Then a thought occurred to him: Kira didn't have a place to stay. Aoi wouldn't mind if she stayed with him, but he had a feeling she'd start feeling indebted to him and do her best to pay him back. He'd suggest for her to find a job, but he didn't know what she could do besides bodyguard duties. Unless she had a pile of gold hidden somewhere in Europe that he could have shipped here. He would need to discuss this with her after she ate a good hearty meal.

Please do quote me so I know when to reply. I don't get a chance to check this as often since I'm also RP-ing elsewhere. Ahem, ok to your point! I apologize for all the rookie mistakes. I've only been roleplaying for a couple of weeks so I'm sort of new at this and Chichi is sort of my 'weakest' character. By that I mean for some reason I keep making mistakes with her because I'm not really sure which direction I want her to go. sweatdrop All that said and done, thank you for your positive criticism, I appreaciate it. Please do tell me if I mess up in the future so I can improve my RP-ing. Also, no clue who are the Sanchez and don't know which one of them have paid her bills or why yet ^^"

Chichi perked up when she heard the name. Sanchez Manor! That's the name written on my benefactor's address! What a coincidence. She immediately lost her appetite as another objective formed inside her head. "Actually, on second thought, can we go visit this manor instead?" she requested. When it was apparent to her that she had to explain herself she told them the reason for her visit in town. She told them everything, from her memory lost to her hospitalization and ended it with her mysterious benefactor. "Well, that's the gist of it. I travelled all the way here from Hong Kong to find more about my generous knight in shining armor since I couldn't find any trace of my parents. They...they weren't at our home when I looked for them nor at the hospital," she explained. She knows she was asking too much from these two perfectly nice strangers but she had to try. I need to find out what happened to ma and pa. "So if you two would be okay with it, will you please help me find this person?," she asked them. She had to look away when asking for help. She felt embarrassed for burdening these two with her problems.

Leticia was happy for Chichi, but at the same time, a little lost by everything she was saying. It took a few moments for her mind to catch up with the mile-a-minute explanation the blonde gave. Everything she said was all overwhelming. Then, when she asked for her and Okami to take her to the manor, Leti noticed several people had stopped and listened to the young woman's story. A few of them looked down and shook their heads. For a moment, Leti didn't understand what they were all looking so gloomy about until she remembered where she heard the name Sanchez before. Uh-oh, she thought as she glanced at Okami and then back at Chichi. "Ya'know, Chichi, the town had a ball recently and it didn't go over well. A few things happened..." She didn't know much, but she did remember the last name. "A man named Raphael Sanchez...kind of...died? Sorry, but you can talk to his family since I guess they're renting out rooms now that he's gone." She made the "ugh" face, the face she made when she was delivering some bad news without knowing all the details.

Running her hands through her Afro, Leticia apologetically looked at Chichi for not being much help.
"I don't know where they live, sorry. I'm from out of town, too, though it can't be that hard to find." As she spoke, a passerby approached them.
The passerby was a pretty girl, probably a high school freshman, and she looked sadder than the others who were listening in.
"The Sanchez family lives on the edge of town, take the road east and you'll come to their gated yard, but it's easy to get through. Follow the tree-lined driveway and you'll get to St. Maria. That's the name of the Sanchez Manor." The girl glanced at Chichi for a moment before dashing back into the safety of her friends.
Shrugging, Leticia glanced at Chichi to gauge her reaction. This was a great lead.
"I can come with you up to the gates. I have a shift as a waitress in another few hours." She smiled, it was all she could do to be of some help to the blonde.

{Incredibly sorry for the long posting time, internet time is rare here in my father's house. Expect me to try and post though (at best, once a week, at worst once a month). gonk }

Kira quickly lost track of everything Zaya was telling her of electricity, despite her best efforts. It was too many fresh new words that couldn't exactly translate well into her language for one, and what did translate didn't exactly make much sense anyways. But she got a little saving grace when she thought of something that was like fire but was very bright. "So... this elek..tricity thing... It's like bottled lightning?" She was saved any further embarrassment at her lack of knowledge by distraction in the form of a slip of fabric that Zaya stated had an advertisement (whatever that was) for a room for rent. Even though she had no money, having never had a reason to carry it, she liked the idea of having some shelter. "It is interesting, though I do not need much beyond a warm and dry place." Kira said smiling at the memory of a fisherman who had allowed her to sleep in his fireplace for fortnight while she traveled through the moors along the Spanish coast. And then her stomach rumbled, reminding her of how long it had been since she had ate something. "Let us talk of it elsewhere, if you do not mind. I hunger, and the people here... I have not adjusted to them." Kira asked cautiously, nodding at the three women who were conversing nearby in such an odd fashion and odd clothing. Granted she realized that she was probably the odd one, dressed in a robe as she was, but it was still a little awkward to her.

Will read them in the future! Thanks again.. sorry for late post again ^^" Okay I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with her so.. I will probably kill her off and make a new one instead

Chichi was saddened when she heard the terrible news regarding the death of one of the locals. The man was a stranger to her but nevertheless, she doesn't like the thought of death. She looked at the other girl and mumbled a condolence for their family. She more than anyone else knew what it was like to lose a family. She contemplated her decision once more. She really wanted to find out her benefactor but at the same time she was worried that the family might think it rude of her due to the recent horrible incident that haunt their family.

She looked inquiringly toward them with a look of confliction. "I don't know what to do now. I really want to find out what happened to my family but now that I know about this... Well, it might be rude to question them at this time? What do you think?"
PostPosted: Fri May 22, 2015 7:36 pm

Leticia smiled at Chichi, feeling conflicted and saddened for some reason, but she let it go as some sort of thing the town did to normal-ish people. She didn't let the conflicted feelings and sadness get to her because she felt the need to cheer Chichi on. In times like these, giving a push in the right direction is all that's needed to get the ball rolling. "No way," she said to the blonde. "It's at times like these they need a good distraction. Obviously, they're picking up the pieces and sometimes a good mystery will cheer them right up." Then she thought about it a bit more and added, "Just don't get their hopes up for renting a room, unless you intend on staying. Now that's a rude thing to do, 'kay?" If it was her, she'd be pissed off if someone came to her place after she set out a rental notice and all someone wanted to do was talk. She'd tell them outright her intentions to talk.

Aoi nodded as he thought of where Kira would stay for the time being. She didn't have any currency or gold, so she'd have to work for it later on. He supposed he could rent her a room in the inn, but then she'd feel obligated to repay him. For now, he could let her stay in his room at the suite and then talk about her possibly moving into this Sanchez Manor. He'd pay for the rent in exchange for knowledge. For him, knowledge was always invaluable, and he hoped Kira thought the same. However, if it didn't work, he would just get a two-room suite at the inn for them to share until she found employment and saved enough for herself.

For now, Aoi would take her to eat and then leave her in his room to sleep. He'd buy her clothing afterwards.
"Okay, let's go to Anything Is Fine. They'll have any kind of food you want," he said with a compassionate smile as he stood up and held out his hand for her to take. It was a short distance to the restaurant, so it didn't exhaust the fire elemental.

[I'll give her another shot. Thanks for the tip see you at the Sanchez manor.]

Chichi sighed in resignation. There was probably no right way to ask such an odd question nor was there a right time for it. She knew that what Leticia had said made perfect sense. She made up her mind there and then. "I guess you are right. Also, I might as well stay there, maybe I'll learn more about my benefactor from the owner of the house." She wondered what the owner would be like. Her companions doesn't seem to be acquainted to them based on how they address the family. She could only guess that either they were very very new to the place or the Sanchez weren't exactly the type to mingle with other people. Chichi felt a slight disappointment when she recall their earlier conversation. It would had been nice if she could have attended the ball. She was rather fond of the whole ball atmosphere, except for that horrible tragedy that happened at the end. The others looked at her patiently as they waited for her to end their conversation. She gave them a genuine smile and turn to each of them as she gave them a light hug. "Thank you again. I'm really sorry about lunch but I promise to make it up to you when I'm done with my business Please take care." She turned around as she walked up the stairs towards the manor.

((Catching up. ))

Okami looked over at Leticia. "Yeah, I'm still here. I do not know them, and something about them is off. I won't claim them as my siblings until they earn it." She glanced back at the statue, "I am sorry I sorta disappeared. I am glad almost everyone seemed to get out alright." She was truly apologetic for not being around. She hated leaving people to worry or in danger.

It seemed the square was soon bustling again with people she didn't know. It happened a lot lately.Sure enough someone bumped into Leticia. "Welcome to Kuro Shiro. I make it my job to help people actually."

Okami listened to her babble, "Sure we can go find dumplings and then I can show you the Inn. It'll be my treat since you look tired and just got here.. she talked even as she read. or I can-" Chichi was soon asking to go to the manor anyway. "Yeah, it was tragic. I would be happy to take you though, I want to check out the rents being placed anyway. Afterward we need to get you some food though."

Before she could hardly even get the words out of her mouth the girl was gone. "Well..."

Leticia didn't get a word in to Chichi as she left, deciding everything after a few words of encouragement. Okami summed up the experience nicely with one word. "She was certainly an odd girl. This town attracts an awful lot of unique people." Though I still don't know how I fit into this place. Why did I end up here of all places? Nothin' unique 'bout me. Once the bubbly blonde was gone, Leti could focus more on herself and Okami first.

Leti remembered Okami said something about claiming the twins as her siblings or somethin' like that.
"Shouldn't that be their job? It seemed that big ol'house of theirs responded pretty well to their commands. I dunno much 'bout magic, but it looked familiar to those girls." Leti never thought much when it came to her own family. She accepted her siblings as they were, whether begot by the same parents or not. Family was family to her, and though she was sad to leave 'em behind, it was for the best. "Maybe y'all should talk to one another and get a feel of each other? Ya'know what I'm saying? It won't do the town no good if the three heiresses are hissin' and pissin' at each other," she drawled as she glanced up at the two-headed dragon statue. It definitely wouldn't do good to fight in a town like this. Already in the short time since the ball, an awful rainstorm hit the nearby mountains and she heard dragon roars. More fighting wouldn't be good at all right now.
