[ rooms: fear, youth, insanity ] "Don't yell at me!" he screeched, edging away, hands instinctively coming up to cover his head. It wasn't necessarily that she was frightening-- although, at the moment, he did think Maebe was more than a little scary-- but it was habit, to cover himself when voices were raised, because it generally meant that closed fists and vice grips and open palms were coming to inflict pain upon him. He drank again from the pool, compelled, and it was clear that Maebe was working with him. It'd be the only reason why she was being so cruel. "That's what he always said," Leslie muttered, eyes glassy and bright, "that he warned me. That he warned me and just wanted to show me how bad I was." He leaned in close to her, the totem around his wrist glowing, stretching and growing into the stave that was Aleria. "Just because you're old," he said, voice quavering in fear-- but he had the power to be better, now, to do more, even if he was afraid-- "doesn't mean you're right!"

"He? Who the hell is he?" Maebe tried to think of a man who spoke to Leslie, but she hardly knew the boy, so she had no idea who might have been shoving him around. "You're right. I don't know everything. But I know more than you, so stop complaining." She moved away, finally drinking from a fountain that wasn't his, and then sat there to contemplate what her next move was going to be. Leslie was summoning his weapon, and the paranoia had begun to seep inside of her, which had her trident forming in her hands defensively. She knew she should have feared Leslie from the beginning. It was either him, or her, walking out of this tower - and she was going to make sure it was her.

"Noooo, take your hands off her shirt gnome!!" Jasper stumbled into the room and pointed at the pair of them. "I'm SO on to you and your shirt eating ways… SO on to you, you…and him…and him… and I HAVE MY EYES ON YOU NORISS you and Gandalf can just STUFF it ok!?" He pointed to another corner. "…Don't I get a hug?" He asked suddenly looking very sad and very young in clothes that were too big except for ridiculously oversized feet that seemed to have beat him ages ago on his ultimate growth.

The Corridor of Ancients was nothing like the Corridor of Dreams at first glance. While the other had been little more than a simple room, this was palatial, a sister of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon perhaps. Hanna took a cautious step forward onto the tile overgrown by creeping vines and gorgeous blossoms. Something this beautiful had to be hiding something awful. It would have made her feel more comfortable if this corridor had been... shabby. Or something. Moving toward the door, Hanna quickly read the note -- blahblahblah, drink some four four water or die. "Just peachy," she said, gazing out at the colored pools. So this was, like... pick your poison? Hopefully that wasn't literal. Voices drew her attention -- other Hunters. "Cami? CAMI!" Hanna shouted, jogging toward the other girl. She remembered the whole 'you will die if you don't drink part' and paused quickly to stave off that particular outcome. But which pool? The green pool was sort of close, and it was her favorite color. Hanna tried not to overthink it. She took a sip quickly and then continued moving toward Cami. With each step, Hanna felt a sudden creeping restlessness. She found everything around her stupid and boring and constricting and godammit why did NO ONE UNDERSTAND HER. Passing by another pool, she stopped and gazed down at her reflection. There were no tattoos on her face, which was weird because didn't she have tattoos? She got them just before her 19th birthday. "I need a tattoo," she said suddenly, to herself, as she stood. It made sense. At 18, Hanna was in her first year of college and acting out in all the ways she knew how. Now, as her Hunter self with that reckless mentality, she was just ready to do whatever stupid thing anyone suggested and be a condescending b***h about anyone who struck her as normal. It was charming, really. Making her way over to Cami, Hanna kneed her in the shoulder. "Dude, get up. Let's do some s**t." Her eyes scanned the others, but she didn't say hi. Manners were so typical. "Why aren't you wearing a shirt? Is this a thing we are doing?" Pools: 1/4 Effected: Youth (appears 18, no facial tattoos)

In her current state, it wasn't really a surprise that she ended up back at the yellow pool.
It also wasn't too surprising that she decided she should drink from it again, just in case she didn't get enough last time.
Of course, this just made her paranoia worse, as she stumbled back out of the room, clutching to a pillar, breathing heavily while eyeing all of the others in the room. Should she fight them? Get them all out of the way? It seemed like a very good idea at this point.

Harrison helped Rep up. Even if he felt...different, Rep was looking woozy. "Which ones you tried?" he asked gently. "You tried this one?"
He knelt to a silvery looking pool. The distortion didn't give him a good feeling, but he drank from it, and waited-
"N-no. Not this one," he warned, feeling his head. "s**t. s**t, I don't know. I don't know what it did, but, s**t. I just- I just got a bad feeling..."

Otto was dumbfounded, blushing, and frozen in place. Holy geez he could see into Cami's bra and he couldn't free himself. More blushing.

"Dude… Coat…god…" He shrugged out of his own, swatted at it a handful of times to be absolutely sure that there were no flaming bugs in it before offering it to her. "No…no actually stick with mine, I know its got no bugs in it… its safe from bugs and gnomes Cami, its ok!"

Ooooooo this pool was red! She liked the color red, very much. It matched the tattood brand of destruction on her hand, it matched the blood that she wished to see dripping off of the walls. Hunter blood. Human blood. Any blood.
Tracing her finger along the pools edge with a giggle before glancing quickly over her shoulder with suddenly narrowed eyes, she reached one hand in to the cool red liquid and brought it up to her lips, taking a long sip before shaking her hand off and standing up, quite waveringly, to her feet.
Not much seemed to change, though beneath the chaos that infused her mind, the whispers and the dulled drunken sense, she somehow felt...wiser. Her face only changed slightly, with a few increased creases at the corners of her eyes, her hair lengthening......
"Jusht one left..." She mumbled to herself, before staggering back out into the open, giving everyone who glanced her way a sharp glare and a hiss, much as if she were actually a disgruntled cat rather then a full grown horsewoman, now even more full grown then before.

[ rooms: fear, youth, insanity ] "You're going to hurt me," Leslie said, decisive, too petrified to move forwards, and quite literally shaking in his shoes. He was not a brave boy at all: he had endured and survived, but it hadn't been without its scars. He drank from a fountain again and he saw his mother's face, the shadow of a full moon, the fabric of the world unwinding, Alice. "Please don't," he begged, staring directly to the left of Maebe at where he thought Alice was, "I don't want to be a ******** puppet again, please--" Leslie began backing away, not-quite crying, but with eyes bright.

The next pool didn't help the strange hallucinations much, and Harrison really didn't seem much better off. Rep hauled himself over to him and only when he reached out did he notice his hands looked different. He was more wiry. More angles and severe features, his hair was longer, fully grown back in a perfect split of ginger and white. There was grey in his beard which was a lot ******** scragglier and more valiant.
He looked concerned, not sure if it was some ******** further nightmare or if he really looked different.
"Ace! ASHCE." he said in a panic, trying not to pay attention to the fact that things kept shifting and the ground felt bizzarely off-kilter. "DO I LOOK OK?" His voice was rougher, more snarled even than usual.

This pool was green. She wasn't such a fan of that color but eh, she wasn't about to be picky. She was, dimly, aware that this was the fourth and final pool she would need to drink from.
She just had to hope that this one wasn't some kind of paralytic.
Rubbing at her arms while slurred cursing under her breath, Shaheen managed, with halting and stumbling steps, to drop at this pools edge, this time just plunging her hand in, lifting it out, and drinking from her palm rapidly before pushing herself back and crawling from the room.
The wrinkles around her eyes decreased, her hair began to shorten by inches, and that wisdom that she had seemed to gain began to drift away, but it mattered little in comparison to what else she was dealing with.

He swayed on his feet, looking vaguely worried.
"I dunno. I dnno if what wrrrr doin is, is like. Its not a grreat idea annnd- ahh, ahh, Rep," Harrison hid his face in Rep's shoulder, even though he was looking oddly grizzlier.

((2, 4, 1, 5 - Complete)) "Damn right I'm going to - " He was backing away, which completely went against what she was afraid of. Why wasn't he attacking? She was ready to defend herself, but instead, Leslie looked like he was shrinking back, reminding her of just how young and hopeless he really was. She sighed in resignation, and Thaw disappeared from her hands. "How about you just stay over there, in your corner of the world, and I will stay here, in mine." She muttered, bending down to take one last sip of water before leaving. It refreshed her, and left her feeling - "Cami?" She heard the voice over the headset, and pushed the button to talk. "Cami, where are you?" Her heart fluttered with anxiety, and something else. Something strange. Rage. "Cami, I think something's after me." She turned her head, looking over her shoulder. "I don't know where anyone is. Except Leslie, and I'm sure he's going to try to kill me any minute. YOU STAY BACK THERE, I MEAN IT." The last she screamed out at Leslie, summoning her weapon almost instantly again.

Managing to push herself to her feet, the war chieftain stumbled her way towards the pillar where she had started this damned task, head swimming dizzily, feet barely able to keep her upright, and a burning need to lash out at anybody who came too close beginning to dull out everything else.
But, quite fortunately, she made it to the pillar without problem.
She would destroy them all later. She had better things to do right now, however. Much more important things.
Wrenching the door open now that it was no longer sealed to her touch, she slipped out and to whatever she might face beyond.
