Despite all efforts to get the frantic reaper to come back and take back these papers, he wasn't showing any sign of returning, so Serafina decided to give up. This was probably just another crazy dream, anyway. She had been having a lot of those lately.

Wonderland, for one...

The kuchisake-onna regulated herself to her fate. Until she could figure out what was going on and get herself out of whatever crazy nonsense she was in, she was going to have to play the part of a Reaper Organization's Intern. Couldn't be any worse than being infinitely cloned so she could kill herself and then have that clone be killed or whatever was going to happen to the clones after she left, she was going to guess it was death...

Well, time to get to work, she supposed. Serafina cracked her knuckles and headed towards the coffee.

========================

Serafina was not the only recent ghost arrival being treated like an intern. Ignatius, who shunned Responsibility from The Man, attempted to hand the papers back when he was presented with his Intern Responsibilities.

"I'm pretty sure you have the wrong person--"

The reaper seemed visibly exasperated. "Whatever. Please do it?" With that, he scurried away somewhere else, leaving Ignatius with assignments to make coffee and deliveries. Coffee and deliveries? Both of those sounded equally terrible and neither sounded like something Ignatius wanted to spend his time doing. Coffee required finesse and an actual taste for coffee, neither of which he had. Who needed coffee when one was basically an infinite energy well all on their own? Coffee was for those cowards who actually needed to sleep.

Who needed sleep, anyway? He sure didn't...

Right. Internship duties. Ignatius looked down at the papers in his hands and sighed. He didn't seem to have much of a choice in the matter, as much as he would rather not do these silly little assignments, considering how fast that reaper ran off. They were probably expecting him to do it, now.

Not that he really cared if he disappointed some uptight, ridiculous reapers.

But he had wandered into whatever this place was out of curiosity. If this was what it was, he would follow it to its logical conclusion: boredom.

Because what else could be running errands for uptight reapers be other than incredibly boring?

Marosa had slept a bit heavier than Hadiyya had, and woke at noticing that she wasn't at his side. His wings fluttered at her touch... how long had she been gone? The faerie stared at his pillow for a moment, sleep dancing from his eyes as he forced his mind to wake up.

Stifling a yawn, the faerie stretched and slid out of bed, pulling on his shirt which had been carelessly flung aside the night before. None of her clothes were still around, but the thought of last night brought a smile to his lips, and a faint blush to his cheeks.

It was then that he heard the whisper. A faint cry for help, throbbing gently in his mind - not as harsh as his father's dealings it seemed, but enough to drive him to unknowingly pursue Hadiyya. He did a second, final check around his room and made sure to leave nothing important behind, locking the door and following blindly in her footsteps.

He reached where she was in a short frame of time and wordlessly gave her a glance, taking her hand in his and squeezing it to let her know he was supportive of... whatever this was. Despite it being disconcerting, he was definitely by her side in... this...

They stepped forward and the fog seemed to dissipate and break, leaving nothing but a vast desert. Marosa wasn't surprised, but he felt something drop in the pit of his stomach. Something told him this wasn't normal, and nothing good could come out of something that didn't seem normal at all. A desert in the place of a haunted house; even though he'd never personally visited the place, it seemed just plain wrong[/] that nothing but a desert was left in its place.

The shuffling of bodies around him caught his attention, prying his eyes away from the desert landscape as the stuttering boil gave a gleamed over description as to what was going on. The faerie remained silent until he finished his little spiel and poofed away. He didn't even realize his ghoulfriend spoke until she looked at him, and he started for a moment, blinking rapidly and attempting to clear his mind.

"... Oi'm sorry love, what?" He thought, squinting at her. Oh. Oh. She was asking what to do. "Ah. Up to ye, love. Oi'm with ye, but oi'm worried about what's happening 'eer."
