Haku Tetsuya Haku definitely over exerted himself over the journey, though he said nothing about it and did fairly well at acting like he was still fit enough for travel, though he knew full well he shouldn't have. As soon as Kano left him alone in the room he collapsed to his knees and took in a deep breath, his head swimming. It took him a moment to collect himself before he made himself stand and wander to his luggage which he tore through until he found what he was looking for. He unrolled a large black strip that had vials all along the inside of it- and with shaky hands he looked through them until he found one with a rosy hue to it. After popping it open and choking it back he got to his feet and wandered over to the bed- his vision clearing up a bit as he collapsed onto it and curled up- pulling the blankets up over his shoulders- though he winced softly and had to adjust himself so that he didn't reopen his shoulder...which he'd have to actually stitch up later. But for now it wasn't bleeding and he was exhausted, so he slept. When he awoke his shoulder was extremely stiff and his head ached but...well, other than that he was actually feeling much better. Slowly he sat up and looked around the room, his long fiery locks having freed themselves in his sleep and thus fell around him in a pool of ginger strands. "lets not do that again Haku" He muttered to himself as he dragged a hand down his face and sighed, not really wanting to leave the bed quite yet.

Kano Eida Meeting with his grandfather he also saw his sister was there who had been back at the capital and he was curious to see what she had found out. Judging by her worried expression he knew it wasn't good. With a sigh he sat down as they all discussed what the situation was and how they were to go about it. Kano reported everything that he and Haku discovered and it all made sense once his sister explained what she had discovered while infiltrating the Lord's mansion. As expected his grandfather had turned to him, "With all this it is best we speed up the marriage ceremony."
Or not. He had assumed his grandfather would postpone it but instead he wanted to speed it up. He should have known. This old b*****d. "Understood," Kano said with a nod as he didn't feel like arguing with this stubborn old man. "A couple days we can go ahead with it."
"More like tonight," His grandfather. Of course he would say that!
Kano rubbed his temple as he sighed heavily, "I don't think it's a good idea. If anything we should focus on keeping guard for the next couple days. We are no doubt going to be sucked into a pretty unnecessary war with not only our own kind but those who want to eliminate our very living."
And with that he got a whack to the head by his grandfathers staff. His eye twitched from irritation and the dull pain. He sighed heavily and just staring at the old fart he knew that it was already a set plan.
Luckily his sister came in for the rescue, "Grandfather I actually agree with Kano. This is a serious manner and we might be risking everyone here if we do the ceremony tonight. They plan on attacking us on all directions toward the end of this week. We have to spend our time preparing and gathering the other clans on joining the fight. Under these circumstances I'm sure the Tetsuya elders will understand and agree with postponing for the mean time."
"Very well, I'll spend out letters to the other clans in hopes that they will aid us." Their grandfather replied as he got up and headed off to his room, leaving Kano and his sister alone.
"Thanks," He whispered to her as she replied with a nod as she grabbed her cup of tea and took a sip.
"Sure, but dont' think i'll convince grandfather to postpone it next time. Gotta settle down eventually." She took in a deep breath as she looked out of the open door and up at the moon.
"I don't have a fear of commitment like you all assume, I just don't have the desire to settle down yet. But if it pleases grandfather then I will do it."
"For his sake? God forbid the poor thing has any feelings for you then," She replied, narrowing her eyes at him. "Just don't toy with him if you have no intentions on ever making any relationship work."
"Feelings for me? He's too much of a brat and home sick to really like me," Kano replied rather coldly while taking another sip of his drink.
"No, more like your cold hearted attitude. If you want to be alone, then be alone just don't go hurting people in the process like you always do. There's a fine line." She set her cup down and stood up, leaving.

Haku Tetsuya Eventually Haku managed to drag himself out of the bed, deciding to change into something far easier to move in and thus it was simply a deep green Yukata with golden leaves embroidered on it. He left this long red hair loose as he wandered out of the room, only to halt when he heard voices from down the hall. "I don't have a fear of commitment like you all assume, I just don't have the desire to settle down yet. But if it pleases grandfather then I will do it."Kano? Yeah, it had to be, it was hard to mistake the males tone after all. Biting his bottom lip softly he couldn't help but wait to hear out the rest- though what he heard wasn't particularly... comforting. Emerald green eyes narrowed slightly as he turned to walk away before Kano's sister left the room, making his way to the pond that he had become slightly fond of. It was nice and cool out and the moon...well, it was beautiful. 'This whole thing is foolish. We clash too much' he contemplated silently, though... he had genuinely enjoyed the others company before.. good to know that Kano had just been playing him. Gritting his teeth he turned and slammed his hand against the nearest tree trunk, listening to the leaves rustle as they were disturbed and he pulled his hand back which he had managed to cut on a piece of bark. "woops" He muttered as he lifted his hand to his mouth and licked the blood away- not really minding the coppery taste. He plopped down in the grass in front of the pond, staring at the moons reflection on the waters surface, which rippled now and then thanks to the slight breeze that ruffled the males fiery locks.

Kano Eida "I take it you over heard?" Kano's sister asked as she was up in a tree as she jumped down and kept her distance from Haku. She leaned against the tree as she stared at the fragile looking male. She ran her fingers through her long silky hair. "Don't take his harshness to heart, I'm sure he cares about you. The boy's just foolish and I'm fairly certain he's avoiding marriage to anyone because he doesn't want to lose who ever he is partnered with. If anyone can knock that boy into place I think it'll be you. Don't give up or you'll give him some form of satisfaction." She smiled before jumping back into the tree and she quickly left, the leaves rustling in a natural way as if she were the very wind.
Meanwhile Kano had gone and taken a bath before returning to the room to see Haku gone. Of course he went off to look for him to make sure he was doing alright now that he had some rest. He went over to where Haku was most likely at and he was right.
"I take it this is your favorite spot from now on?" He asked while staying by the treeline while staring at Haku.

Haku Tetsuya Haku had only sensed her at the last moment, turning his gaze towards the woman as she leaned against the tree, though he didn't make any move to stand and simply listened to her speak. Why should he care? He was pissed off and basically had come out to vent. Eventually he went to stand, putting his hands to his lips again to lap up the blood that he felt trickling against his skin- his gaze darting to Kano as he spoke from where he stood at the treeline. He pulled his hand away from his mouth and stayed silent a moment, as if sizing up an enemy before he simply shrugged. "It's pretty. You can go to bed before me. I've already slept for a while, and I need to get my shoulder stitched up before I sleep again" He stated simply as he went to walk past Kano, not quite in the mood to deal with the ravenette at this specific point in time.

Kano Eida "Alright," Kano replied noticing the wound on Haku's hand also noticing how he seemed to be a bit upset. Rather than questioning what was wrong, Kano turned and headed back to the house. He was too tired to really bother with anything right now and his mind was also on keeping the village safe. He quickly settled down on his bed and rested as much as his brain would allow him to do so. Of course another part was thinking about Haku and what might have upset him. He didn't really think that the male over heard him talking to his sister.
Half way through the night Kano became fully alert as he hear banging outside. Getting up and rushing out he spotted glowing behind the fort as it was clear that it was a night raid. Kano gathered up everyone as the women and children who didn't fight were sent over to an under ground bunker to stay safe. Kano wasn't sure where Haku was but for now he couldn't go find him and instead he had to get ready to fight the moment the walls were breached.

Haku Tetsuya Haku gritted his teeth as he walked along, making his way to the clan healer who made a face at the wound when he unraveled the bandage. "This was coated in poison... Either your lucky, or you knew what you were doing" She stated, earning a slightly crooked smile from Haku "The latter- I've trained in both herbalism and poisons." He stated, which simply earned a nod. After about an hour or so his wound was nicely stitched up but his shoulder ached once more. "Take it easy- you don't need to go ripping those stitches open" she stated, and Haku simply nodded and thanked the woman. He wandered for..well, he wasn't even sure how long- until he heard the banging that it. His brows furrowed and he quickly made his way to Kano's room though he wasn't there of course. But that wasn't why he'd returned there. Instead he gathered up his own medicines and poisons, before he changed into something easier to fight in. He could clearly hear the commotion now- and was quick to make his way outside and close to the wall- though he had no clue where Kano was along the wall- he had no time to worry about him. The wall was overtaken not long after he arrived, and he found himself locked in combat with a shinobi who was probably around his age. He let out an annoyed hiss of air as he sunk his Kunai into the boys neck and pulled back, sparing a moment to look around. "s**t- this is bad" He muttered, unsure of what he was really supposed to be doing at this point.

Kano Eida Kano fought hard, using his trusty Katana that never seemed to fail him. It was utter chaos in the matter of an hour as it was clear that they were at a disadvantage and this wouldn't end well at all. His attention was averted over to the bunker where it seemed that some shinobi were trying to break in. He rushed over to aid his fellow men to get them away from it since the women and children were down there, most likely fearing for their lives. Below the women had taken up weapons just in case the doors were breached and they would do all they could to protect the children. Some of the older boys had taken up some weapons as well since they all grew up knowing that it was best to die protecting their loved ones.
No matter how many of them them were chased away or killed there were still plenty pouring over to them until Kano and some of the men were overwhelmed and the doors were finally burst open. It was hard to see what was going on but the sounds of the women shrieking and the children was enough to cause chills to seep down to his very bones and it also sickened him. At most it but him in a fit of rage as he was sure he was now slashing heads off, not longer caring about killing someone in a respectable manner. They were the ones to cross the line by killing defenseless women and children. Unfortunately by the time he got there it was too late and there was nothing but blood shed from both the men the women had killed and the women and children. These were the people he knew and cared about, people he had grown up with and they had been slaughtered so mercilessly.
Kano was being overwhelmed by several men but the men he worked so close with rushed in to help him. "We've got your back Master Kano!" They fought hard, sacrificing their lives for him.
Every death from those he knew was a blow to his own body but he couldn't afford to let himself shut down. He had to rely on his anger to keep him going. It was hard to tell who's blood was being splattered on him. Whether it was an enemy or a friend fighting along side him...he'll never know.
The battle waged on through the night as anyone that was left fought long and hard. Despite the overwhelming numbers, Kano and whoever was left had managed to kill off anyone that was left to fight as others retreated. The sun rose high into the sky. Looking around there was nothing but massacre from both sides but more deaths were from his village. Kano went around the whole place taking account of who had fallen as many he was close with but perhaps the one that struck him to his core was finding the body of his grandfather.
Sinking down to his knee's he pulled the old fragile man onto his lap as he shook him slightly in hopes that the old man was still hanging on to whatever life he could manage to hang on to, but just looking into his eyes he could see that there was no life in his body. His body trembled though he had no tears to shed as he laid him back down on the ground and continued to scan the area. So far Haku was not among the dead and there were four others that had been helping with gathering their dead. A woman and her child had come out from the forest as they had ran off an hid helped as well though the woman was pretty injured. The village herbalist had managed to survive as she tended to the wounded but in total there was only seven survivors including himself and since he hadn't found Haku yet he hoped that Haku was at least number eight. His sister had been a survivor as well. When she had left Haku along her journey back home she had spotted the army heading here and tried to come back to warn them but she was caught and dragged back here. She escaped and fought to save the village but it was futile.
Just as the sun shun bright, dark clouds rolled in and the rain began to wash the blood from the land.

Haku Tetsuya He felt sick, everything seemed to ache and his shoulder was throbbing. He knew he had tore it open and that blood once again managed to seep slowly from the wound. Emerald eyes were closed as he tried to steady himself, to grasp on to the fact that he and one other man who was extremely shaken up had survived. Everything wreaked of blood- he wreaked of blood. His arms were caked in it- and the other survivor had witness his slight....frenzy. He'd been afraid and well... He'd never fought so hard in his life. Finally he cracked his eyes open, a wave of nausea rolling his gut, though he managed to keep the bile in the back of his throat down. He knew he was trembling, but he turned to the man who was now sobbing on the ground while holding on to the corpse of a comrade, as if he thought he could bring him back by shaking him. He moved to the man and knelt down, placing a gentle hand on the mans back, who flinched on contact. "He's gone, there's nothing more you can do but honor his death" He muttered gently, earning a blank stare, before the man nodded and let go of the body. "c'mon- let's see if anyone else survived this massacre" He voiced, though he barely spoke above a whisper. After standing and helping the man to steady himself they picked there ways through the bodies- checking the dead along the way to see if anyone else was holding on...though it seemed to be futile. When the others came into view Haku halted, turning his head up just as the rain began to fall. His heart hurt for these people... He didn't know them well- but he had met some...the children, those lives taken needlessly. He felt warm tears slip free as he brought his gaze back down, finding Kano with his emerald eyes that seemed so dull in comparison to usual. Kano wouldn't cry...not now- but Haku would cry for all of them... He could practically feel the earth mourning the dead- the wind seemed to howl with pain, the tree's rustled and moaned a sad tune... and Haku couldn't move from where he stood, trying desperately to stay conscious, his chest aching from his wound- his stomach turning, and his hear aching.... Everything simply- hurt.

Kano Eida Most of the dead were gathered and laid in rows as they would have to be buried but for now everyone that had fought could only rest and be treated from their wounds. The woman had found her husband as she knelt beside him and wailed, her child doing the same as they clutched onto his lifeless body, wanting nothing but to have him back. Kano's sister had remained with the body of their grandfather, doing her best not to sob as much as the woman but she cried just as much as the rest. It all seemed surreal and for a moment Kano had thought he would wake up any second now to find it was nothing but a horrible nightmare. Unfortunately it was all real and he still could not find it in himself to cry. Instead he managed to find a shovel and while everyone grieved and let their bodies rest and heal, Kano began to digs. He needed to keep his mind busy and he couldn't help but think about his revenge on those that had slaughtered his village. He knew that the other clans would be targeted and so he would take the enemy out first and if he had to do it alone then so be it.
His body began to ache due to the wounds that were inflicted on to his body but none deep enough to make him loose too much blood. He ignored his screeching muscles as all he could seem to do is dig the graves of his loved ones. It was much like the day when his village had been attacked in the very same way except that time the only casualties were the loss of his parents. As a young boy he had spent hours digging the graves of his parents alone, not allowing anyone to help him. They had let him do it alone because they figured it was his way to grieve and now he would do the same for all the lives lost today.

Haku Tetsuya Haku wanted to comfort Kano, he really did, but he had no idea how to do so... How do you comfort someone who just lost their entire life essentially? He jolted slightly when the medicine woman came up to him and rested a hand on his arm, his gaze darting to the woman like a startled animal and she only looked on at him with grief in her pale eyes. "Your wound opened up- Come." she muttered, pulling him aside to restitch his wound which was basically a mess of gore now. After cleaning it as best as she could she stitched up the wound and bandaged it, leaving without a word as she went on to tend others. He'd lost quite a bit of blood but he forced himself to his feet, Kano couldn't do this now- not in the rain. The holes would just fill with water and muck- and so he pushed himself to move forwards, placing a hand gently on Kano's shoulder as the shovel dug into the ground "You can't dig them now Kano" He muttered softly, his voice breaking on the last syllable of Kano's name. "It'll be a soupy mess, and they deserve proper burials...or what ever we can give them" he continued softly, pulling his hand away as he wasn't sure if Kano would want anyone to get close right now.

Kano Eida The whole world was gone to him at the moment and he hardly felt or heard Haku as his voice seemed so muffled and distant. All he did was continue to dig as he remained digging just one, shoveling out the mud. Behind, his sister had come over to Haku and put her hands gently on his shoulders, "It's best to leave him be." She had whispered softly to him as she lead Haku away while handing him a tarp. "Here, will you be so kind as to help us cover our dead so they don't get muddy?" She smiled softly but it was a very weak smile. Once he had taken the tarp from her, she turned and went back over to Kano.
Taking a deep breath she swallowed the lump in her throat and jumped down into the hole in front of him but he simply dug around her as if she were nothing but a big bolder in the way of his digging.
"Stop," She uttered while trying to take take the shovel though she was met with resistance. She reached for it again to try and take it from him but he simply pushed her aside and continued to dig.
Growing frustrated and angry she grabbed his arm and tried to take the shovel again. "I said stop it already!" Her voice trembled as she began to cry again. However Kano pulled away from her yet again. "Kano!" Finally out of hurt and frustration she turned him around and slapped him hard across the face,
Needless to say it brought him out of wherever he had been lost. He looked down at her as she began to sob and before she could crumble down to the ground he caught her in her arms and let her cry against his chest as she clutched the back of his soaked shirt. He sighed softly and stood there comforting her.

Haku Tetsuya Haku looked to Kano's sister as she approached him, nodding as she lead him away and offered him the tarp to help cover the dead, and so he did. Though after a few minutes he had to stop to lean against the building, his head spinning most likely due to the blood loss. He gritted his teeth until his jaw ached, he still felt sick and honestly was having a hard time keeping himself upright. Eventually he sank down and simply sat in the mud, leaning his head back so he could stare blankly at the sky. Everything still ached. The edges around his vision were blurred and he knew he was pushing himself again, but he didn't want to be deadweight. Forcing himself to his feet once again he staggered a bit, before he forced himself to continue to help cover up the dead until everyone was covered and safe from the rain. Once that was done he braced himself against the building again, lifting a hand to push long fiery locks that were now soaked through back off of his face.

Kano Eida The rain finally stopped as the clouds began to part, streams of sunlight now appearing and warming up the lands again. Kano had sat down on a rock as his sister had calmed down and went back to help the others. The herbalist came over to treat his wounds as the two spoke for a while. Once his wounds were stitched up he stood up and went to all the other survivors as he gave his condolences to their losses as they did the same. Everyone was family to one another here. Just hours ago the village was bustling with life and joy and now these lands were tainted in blood and sorrow. They had all concluded to bury their loved ones and burn the enemy along with the lands so that over time new grass and tree's would grow so that this place would not be haunted with what happened here.
The rest of the day consisted of burying their dead and gathering any food and items they could take. It was settled that they would go back to Haku's village as it was the safest place to go and they were sure they would be accepted not only because Kano and Haku were still to be married, but they did bring Haku back alive despite him being injured...hell they were all badly injured. Not the mention that they would most likely feel sympathetic toward their fellow ninja.
After all was done, Kano lit the bodies of their enemies on fire and let the flames consume the area, their dead save from the flames as they were now buried with rocks marking their graves. They journeyed slowly and once they reached the mountain they sat and watched their lands burn thought by now the flames were dying down and there was nothing but scorched land. They would all some day return to a land, rebirth and to rebuild.

Haku Tetsuya Haku continued to push himself, helping to bury the dead and converse with the survivors about taking refuge on his clans land. They would welcome them, he knew that much. But he also knew his father would likely push for their marriage sooner rather than later so they could accept the others into the clan and not have to deal with any complaints from the smaller clans... After all they wouldn't see the Eida clan as an asset anymore- but his father would. They had knowledge, and knowledge was worth its weight in gold...and he could protect the survivors as family. Haku merely packed up what ever he had taken from his bags, but for the most part he was still packed so...well there wasn't much to do. Haku didn't say a word as they started their travels, watching with the survivors as their home burned...though he didn't watch long as he wandered ahead a bit and practically collapsed against the base of a tree, leaning his back against the trunk as he squeezed his eyes shut. He fumbled with a pouch at his side and produced a vial of clear liquid, something he'd been drinking sparingly ever since they started burying the dead. It was the only thing keeping him conscious at this part- he was so exhausted and his body was screaming at him to rest. 'once they're done we have to continue on... Not too much longer Haku- just stay awake' he pressed himself, pushing himself to his feet though he had to brace himself on the tree unsteadily. "Get a grip" He breathed as he waited, remaining beside the tree in silence.
