The bolt snapped the branch Fois was perched on and her fell on top on the blanches below him. He quickly got back up on his two feet and caught Hematite floating away, so, he quietly followed the Haunter from up in the trees while staring and sending a constant wave of psychic energy at her.

When Hematite felt the familiar dizziness she spun around. Spotting the owl following her, she shot another bolt at him.

The bolt struck Fois and he momentarily lost his balance. He managed to prevent himself from falling over with the help of his wings and beak. Once he got himself together again, he flew up to a branch the was a bit higher and continued to chase and attack Hematite from there.

Hematite phased through a few trees in an attempt to shake off Fois, and circled around the field. She tried to sneak up on him before using another Thunderbolt.

Fois was caught off guard by Hematite and he fell off of his branch. He landed on top of the branches below him and once he got up, he wildly flapped his wings from the shock-- his eyes glowing brightly.

The glowing eyes only make Fois easier to find, really. And since they didn't seem to have much effect on her, it was easy enough to stare straight back at them. She held Fois's eyes for a moment before grinning and tossing another Thunderbolt his way.

This time, the bolt sent Fois plummeting back to the ground. He scurried behind the tree trunk and glared at Hematite with obvious dislike.

Hematite ignored the look (and the stronger-than-usual bout of dizziness that came with it) and blew a raspberry at Fois. She pointed a hand at the bird, folded the fingers into the shape of a gun, and mimed pulling he trigger. Then called another lightning bolt down.

Fois looked absolutely offended by the Haunter's gestures. He hopped over to the other side of the tree, screeched at her, gave her the meanest glare he can muster before flying off to a new hiding spot.

Hematite just cackled at Fois's expression and useless attempt at retaliation. She tossed another lightning bolt in the direction he'd gone, not even caring if it hit.

The bolt snapped the branch above of Fois this time. It landed on his back, but, luckily, it was a small branch so Fois easily shook it off. The Hoothoot jumped into the next tree and continued his glaring.

Hematite saw Fois shoot her an especially poisonous glare and reeled back. She clapped her hands to herself and pretended to be mortally wounded, overdramatically spinning around with her tongue hanging limply from her mouth. Then she straightened, have a "just kidding" wink and called more lightning.

Fois was even more offended by Hematite's gestures this time. In fact, he was so busy being offended that the Thunderbolt shocked him out of the tree and he fell flat on his face back on the uneven ground. He hopped up and furrowed his brows and his eyes became slits as he started to back up slowly.

Hematite saw Fois fall flat on his back and cackled gleefully. She floated down to the ground so she'd be at his level, grinned, and called more lightning.

The lightning struck the area around Fois' feet and he jumped up and shook his left foot. He sharpened his glare and flew off, but he didn't land in a tree. Instead, he flew around the field and circled Hematite.
