Estrella Espacio *still drooling over Dashner's doll from page 5* So, any suggestions on a better way to remove the doll's original paint besides nail polish? sweatdrop The solvent in nail polish remover is usually acetone or xylene (in acetone-free NP remover). Acetone is pretty harsh on some plastics and can discolor or melt them if it's left on too long. Xylenes are much less effective at removing paint and tend to just sort of smear it. On faces, I recommend using acetone to remove the paint, and on bodies I recommend using ethyl or methyl alcohol. They're both available from your local hardware store or Wal-mart in smallish quantities. Also, if you're painting over, you don't necessarily need to strip every last bit of paint from a doll; if you're properly priming and painting you can cover existing factory paint with no bad effects.

Considering I already smeared the face, I WAS just going to paint over. xp I just wanted to change the eyes at first...I'm using a used to be Cupid doll as a practice base. :3 Once I practice I will probably attempt doll customs. I'm mostly going to try MLP customs since all I need is acryllic paint and polymer clay ^ w ^;;
