Jesse entered the caravan when prompted, glad she liked the flowers and sat in a chair at the table. He had never had jambalaya before but it smelled amazing and he was starved. He had no idea why he had been so hungry lately, but it didn't seem to phase him. He thanked her for the food and ran his fingers through his hair when she mentioned it, smiling some and thanking her. "What can I say, I like it better like this. I am forever dirty so when I am clean I like to take advantage of being clean. Kale? Oh, Raze? He did? Huh...I wonder why. Usually he is the one barking at me. He has been acting weird lately, have you noticed anything, I don't know, off about him recently?" he asked as he took a bite of the food. He really did love being clean and prided himself on looking nice when he wasn't working. He nodded with her answer and shrugged when she finished as he ate. "I have no idea what is going on around here lately. This is delicious by the way. But, yeah, Cassandra and Cathleen have been acting up and disrespecting Raze, Magnolia is suddenly talking to me, Raze isn't being so hard on me, Piper...ugh, don't even get me started."[

Jesse took another bite and swallowed it, follwing it up with some tea. When Chloe asked about what happened with Piper, Jesse shrugged and explained.
"OKay so I've never spoken to her before, ever, and while I was setting up Malachi's light system, like he had asked me to, she was doing her tightrope thing. I had been watching the whole practice act while I was up there because I usually don't get to watch the actual sets. So she looks up, sees me, and to be polite I simply smiled a bit and nodded to her, and bang, she falls off the rope. Her brother caught her and she was fine, but I still felt bad. So later Kale had me go fix one thing or another on her caravan and I asked her if I could make it up to her. She agreed and I got a dirty look from one of the terrible two, but she met me over by the lunch tables. So I apologized, paid for her food, hid away so her dumb brothers couldn't see her socializing, and even cleaned up and she barely said a word to me. Like nothing. I've heard of being introverted and that is fine, but personally I would have rather she stood me up. She might as well have. She was late and refused conversation pretty much.

I don't know, sometimes you are the only person in this joint that makes sense Clo."
Rolling his eyes about Piper, he decided to move on to better conversation. "So a little bird told me that one of those twins checked you out today. Care to tell me what happened?" He smilied teasingly, unsure how he really felt about it. He had begun to actually like spending time around Chloe, and found himself thinking about her most of the day. He picked up his plate and hers too when she had finished and took them to her sink, washing, rinsing, and setting them on the drying rack, before taking the silverware as well, repeating the same process. When she protested with some rubbish about him being a guest, he responded. "Oh hush, you cooked everything, the least I could do is a few dishes. Now come on, out with it. What happened with the Olsen twin?" he smiled at her, enjoying his own mini stab of a joke.

He washed, rinsed and dried the other dishes she had used to cook, making sure everything was cleaned up as he listened to her speak. When it whistled, he took the teapot off the fire and refilled their glasses without even leaving his seat. He was so much taller than most, reaching things further away or higher up usually wasn't an issue for him. He placed the teapot on the table and looked up, locking his eyes to hers as she spoke, trying to feel out exactly if he was potentially ruining anything for her by being here with her tonight.

Chloe shrugged and said, "I don't know. It is kinda odd though. I don't want to say that he is getting soft, but I notice that whenever Maggie is near, he's not as violent or rash. You think he has feelings for her? I hope not, if Cassie finds out, she's going to end up killing that girl." She took a bite out of her food and finished it up with some tea. She listened to Jesse rant a bit, he noticed that everything was getting a little crazy here too. Was it because of the permanent move they did here stressing everyone out? Chloe nodded in agreement, "I noticed. Cassie had lashed out at me today before the gates opened. She almost made me late at the ticket booth. Magnolia has been talking to me too. Maybe she's being a little more open and coming out of her past. From what I hear, she's had a rough past. But, what happened with Piper?" She placed her hands on her lap as she looked at Jesse curiously. That's weird. Though the siblings have always been a little strange. Chloe said after clearing her throat, "That's a little strange... I don't know why her brothers wouldn't just let her socialize. They are going to end up inbreeding and people have needs. That's just the laws of Nature." With those twins, who knows how to communicate properly? She crossed her arms and when Jesse was done, she stood and clear the table, but Jesse beat her to it and started cleaning the dishes. Wait, he worked all day! He shouldn't be doing the dishes! "Wait, Jesse, you worked since the crack of dawn. You shouldn't be doing the dishes. You helped me and everyone else today. Plus you've been working your butt off since we first got here. Besides, you're the guest." She looked at him and started drying off the dishes he cleaned and putting them away. "Nothing, really. I found it odd he was talking to me without any pranks. He wanted to make sure I was okay, which was nice. He saw Cassandra toss me around like a rag doll and it ended up me hitting my cheek. Nothing big. He just wanted to get back at her. I told him not to because it's only going to come back to me. Besides, I much rather have a sore cut cheek then an arm broken in three different spots. But all is good, nosy. Tonight something good did happen. I sold out all the tickets with one guy left. He was starting to get a little violent but Magnolia showed up in time and handled it. I don't think a lot of people around here realize how strong she really is." She bumped hips with him and laughed a bit. He was so nice to her. Chloe noticed that when she's near him, she's not at clumsy as she usually is. He was so pretty, nice, caring... She ended up dazing a bit before snapping herself back into reality. She blushed a bit and smiled, before finishing up drying and putting dishes away. "Thank you again for all the help the past week and today... and tonight with the dishes. You never stop to amaze me." Chloe smiled happily up at him and offered, "Do you want more tea?"

Jesse smiled as they were finishing up the dishes, and bumped her hip back playfully, careful not to knock her over. He turned to face her once they finished, and smiled down at her. He was a great deal taller and she could easily fit right into his chest had he wanted her to. He smiled at her thanking him, tucking her hair behind her ear, and kissing her forehead briefly before lifting her chin to look up at him. "You amaze me too Clo. You are a really fantastic person. Never let that go." He agreed to more tea, turning and pouring some for the both of them, taking his seat back and taking a drink. "Oh it doesn't bother me to do things like dishes and whatnot. It's normal chores I never see. I am never home enough to make a mess or use my dishes. It's kind of relaxing actually. I think doing my laundry is about the closest thing to a chore I ever do. Sad if you think about it really. People have me jumping all the time."

Looking over her cheek he noticed it wasn't too well healed up yet, and grabbed a paper towel to wet it down. He wiped off the dry blood gently, paying close attention not to disrupt it further. He smiled happily with a bit of a grin, thinking on her earlier comment.
"I suppose your right. With a family that close knit and them keeping her on a leash that short, incest is bound to happen. I don't know that I trust those two guys though. They always have some shady business going on. I just hope that Cassandra doesn't pull something stupid, having one of them get close enough to really hurt you. Emotionally, mentally, even physically...I heard a rumor that last year one of them actually blew a guy's face half off with a bottle rocket on accident. I mean, they meant the prank but something went wrong with it and the guy never recovered. I can't tell you what to do, and I don't want to, but I would hope you would be careful is all. I don't know what I would do if you weren't around."

Her comment about 'people having needs' struck a cord with him, and he hadn't thought about it till now. How long had it been since he had joined? Three years now, maybe more? He had forgotten, but in all his time here he was always so focused on working that he didn't have time to think of such things. But right now, in this moment, it crossed his mind. How nice would it be to come back to his caravan and have some beautiful girl waiting for him? How grand to lie down at night, and not have to feel so alone? For someone to seek him in a crowed of people and need him for something other than a favor? Was it possible to feel needed without having to really work for it? It had to be. He quite liked being around Chloe, and he was serious that he didn't know what he would do if she were gone. Who would he talk to? Who would he hang out with on occasion? He had this emptiness inside of him for so long that he eventually failed to recognize it, as it became apart of him. That feeling was beginning to return to him, as he remembered he would end up walking to his caravan, alone, and dwell on his thoughts until sleep would take him. Thoughts about what he was, what was happening, the list of things he had to do for the following day, his loneliness, his worry, and hundreds of other things, too many to name.

He pushed his thoughts aside and stood, offering her his hand, helping her to her feet.
"Care to join me for a walk? Unless you had another plan that is. There is something I want to show you." Once she agreed he smiled to her and led her out, walking beside her and leading the way. He small talked about everything and nothing, weather, movies, music, art, and so on, and he thrived when she brought up books. When they closed in on where he was leading her, he stepped behind her and covered her eyes. "Do you trust me?" he asked, smiling when she confirmed she did. He counted down from three, and uncovered her eyes to reveal they were on top of a large hill, overlooking a giant open space that overlooked a large wooded area, and a river could be heard in the distance. What he had wanted to show her, away from the lights of the Cirque, was the sky, black as a raven's feather, and a hail of shooting stars. One after another, in a shower of quick glimmering twinkling lights.

It was so calming and beautiful, Jesse looked out to them and smiled as he looked over to catch her expression. No one ever came over this far as it was passed the construction area on an unused lot, still within the fence of the Cirque. kale owned it, but had nothing to put on the hill as of yet. Looking down to her he smiled and asked.
"So what do you think? I thought you might be one of the few to appreciate it in all it's entirety. I had to haul some scrap metal back this way a few years ago and saw it for the first time then. Looked it all up and it only happens every so often. I try not to miss it." Hoping she was enjoying herself, he looked back to the sky and made silent wishes to himself, gazing up into the abyss happily, without a care in the world.

Chloe smiled at Jesse as he complimented her back with her cheeks tinged red. Kisses on the forehead. she thought they were so romantic. She always believed that the guy liked you for you and it was comforting. She closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead, "Thank you, Jesse. You too. Never change. You're perfect the way you are." Before she could pour the tea, he even beat her there. She felt like a terrible hostess. He did her dishes and now he was pouring their tea. She sat down with him and smiled a bit, "It's okay. I just thought you would be tired after working so hard." She nodded in agreement that incest was bound to happen, but when it does, they should try not to be so closed minded. She herself was not into it what so ever... but... eh... It wasn't for her. Chloe shook off the thought and looked at Jesse. She smiled at him and shook her head, "Don't worry. I'll be careful with them. I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be here as long as I do my job and be less clumsy." She looked at Jesse when he became a little spacious. Like he was zoning out. She lowered her head a bit to look in his eyes to try to see what he was thinking. If only she had Magnolia's power. She could read his mind or something like that. When he came back, she sat up straight and looked at him, "Hey, are you okay?"

When he asked her to join him for an evenings stroll, she smiled happily and nodded,
"Sure, I have nothing else to do." She took his hand gently and smiled up at him. Tonight was turning out so lovely. It was originally a night for dinner and tea, but he made it something so much more. He always could surprise her in positive ways. She loved it. When he stopped and covered her eyes, she grabbed his hands with one hand and with the other reaching out in front of her. She smiled and nodded, "Of course I trust you. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here with you." She was right though. If it had been anyone else, she would have rejected it and have a panic attack if they covered her eyes. She let him lead her as she had her eyes covered. Chloe stopped when he did and when he took his hand off, she opened her eyes. Her eyes grew wide at the beautiful scenery and her jar dropped. It was gorgeous. She took his hand, entwining her fingers with his. She stood close to him and smiled looking up at all the stars. It was nice getting away from the rush, noise and madness down there. It was perfect! She smiled up at him and said, "Jesse, this is absolutely beautiful. The sky and abundant amount of trees. The fresh air and the river. This is perfect!" There were so many stars out. It was easy to spot the constellations even. Hell, if Maggie was here, she could probably name them all and tell all their stories. But Chloe preferred the quite beautiful moment with Jesse. She rested her head against his arm as she looked at the night sky. It was natural beauty and that's what it made it so magical. Not the every day cirque magic of horrors. This was peaceful, quiet and beautiful. After a few moments, Chloe looked over at Jesse and reached up to the side of his cheek, bringing his head down a bit. She kissed him on the cheek and with a warm smile, "Thank you for doing this, Jesse. It's absolutely beautiful." Her cheeks grew a little pink from blushing as she smiled at him.

Jesse had a faint blush meet his cheeks when Chloe laced her fingers with his. It was nice, sweet, and something he was in no way used to. He didn't hesitate, or freeze, just followed what felt natural to him and held her hand in his, laced fingers and all. He was happy that she found the same amazement in the scene that he had. The Cirque held so much darkness that i was nice to be ale to breathe, and get a faint reminder that there is still beauty and goodness in the world, it is just harder to find. Jesse was a bit lost in thought until Chloe rested her head on his arm. He didn't mind, for she didn't feel like she weighed a thing, and it sent an unusual tingle down his spine. It was almost like butterflies in his stomach, though he kept his even expression, his usual smile, and his eyes on the sky.

Finding it adorable that she had to pull him to her level, he complied easily, assuming it was one of those, 'Come here, I want to tell you a secret' sort of moments, but he was happily surprised to receive a kiss on the cheek. He got a bit rosie cheeked himself as he nodded and responded.
"Of course. Not a problem, just do me a favor and don't tell anyone where this place is, otherwise we will have to start fighting for a good seat." He chuckled a bit at the thought. Oh how would Kale react when all of his dark and evil beings decided to take certain nights off so they could watch the star falls? Thinking a bit deeper on it, not many would watch even if they knew about it. They had no care for beauty or nature at all. It was then he came to the conclusion that Chloe was the only other normal person in this entire place, and he quite liked her standing next to him.

He took the arm she was leaning against and pulled her into a hug, swaying a bit as he did so. He found an opportune moment to test his theory, here it was, and he was right. Chloe fit ever so nicely in his hold, her height perfect as well.
"Thank you for hanging out with me tonight. I really...really needed it. It was perfect. The food was amazing, doing the dishes together was fun, then this...just for once, everything went exactly the way it should have, I needed a night away from my caravan and I am really glad I spent it with you. So thank you Chloe, for all of it. You really helped me out." They stayed awhile until the star falls came to a close, and he offered his hand back to her as they departed. He walked her back to her caravan, knowing she would need sleep for another busy day tomorrow.

He didn't want to go. He wasn't even tired! He wanted to just freeze time and talk with her until he passed out, then wake up and do it all over. He released her hand as they met the door and he turned to face her.
"Well I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did. I meant what I said back there, you have no idea how much better I feel now than I did a few hours ago." Jesse stepped forward and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as he gazed happily down at her. "Maybe we can do it again soon, I was thinking like...tomorrow night? After my chores are done, maybe you could come by my caravan and we can have dinner and watch movies, go for another walk, or even just talk for awhile. Whatever you'd want or like. I figured it is Sunday tomorrow so maybe you wouldn't be busy. Unless of course you think I'm creepy or something." he laughed a bit hoping like hell he wouldn't get rejected.

He wanted to be around her yes, but also he wanted to keep those damn twins away from her. He didn't trust them one bit, and Chloe was so easily trusting of others it seemed, that he didn't want them to trap her in some sort of hurtful trick. Keeping his gaze in her eyes, and his fingers laced in her hair, he waited patiently, just admiring her for the moment.

Kale looked up as Jesse opened the door and stepped out not seeing him. He excused the accident and thought for a moment before answering the poor kid. Kale wasn't usually one for sympathy but given that Maggie was worried about him, it couldn't be good. "Consider yourself free for the evening Jesse. You did well today. Get some rest and I will have your list posted on your door by the time you wake." Allowing him to leave Kale turned to see Maggie waiting for him with the door opened. He checked around before entering to be sure there were no eaves droppers like Cassie wandering about. He stepped inside, and took his usual seat, almost actually smiling. "Their performances were good, yes I was rather satisfied. I feel great as a matter of fact, and thank you, I just didn't feel like sleep wear yet. I am not even close to being tired. I took both souls earlier and I am more energized than ever. You look ravishing as always my dear, how are you feeling? How is Mr. Grimm?"

He had grown fond of the cat, claiming it as his own half the time. He sipped from his tea cup and looked to Maggie whom he assumed no one ever stopped to ask how she was, just only to ask about themselves. He smiled at her answer before putting on his concerned face.
"Alright, I've had people watching Jesse all day. From what I am told, he is strong. Not superhuman or anything, but more so than most. His appetite is ridiculously large lately, and he emitted some kind of energy or something when he had that tiff with Cathleen. What all do you know? I have a few guesses but I can't be sure without all the information. My best guess is actually a more ancient breed of creature, deriving from Hell itself. 'Tantibus' is the given name, it means 'Nightmare' in Latin. Basically it is a gene that lies dormant until the body is stable enough to handle and eventually control it. He would look normal all the time until he shifts. When he shifts into Tantibus form he would look something similar to this..." he paused to take a book from the inside of his jacket pocket and flip to a page of photos from long ago. Hoping he was right, he explained his theory further. Pointing to the description in the book, he spoke.

"They have the gene when they are born of two opposing creatures. No matter what they are, the child would be a Tantibus. His parents could have been a demon and a vampire, a werewolf and a skin walker, a shifter and a rugaru, anything. If it isn't pure bread then it is a Tantibus. When their bodies gain enough strength to handle the shifting, their power comes at them full swing and at first they have a hard time controlling it usually, some can others can's. Age doesn't matter it is whenever the body feels ready. My guess is that with all the manual labor he does all the time he has gained his strength and now he craves food to replenish his energy and sustain his metabolism. Tantibus' are soulless, that is why I couldn't take his from him. They are known as the mutts of the underworld. The kind of creatures that get stuck with all the b***h work, yet they never mind it because they have this unbelievable urge to feel needed, wanted, or useful. Sounds like Jesse to me.

The problem I am having though is the tattoos. For a theory, say one of his parents was a Tantibus themselves, they could have lied and gotten with a human or other creature, and the same result would happen. Maybe they were ignorant as to which symbols meant what. Either way he is warded from both angels and demons. I think I should take a day for myself on Monday and leave Malachi to watch things while I go and track down his birth parents. Sorry, my mind is running a thousand miles per minute, I just truly think I figured it out and I have been dying to tell you."
Waiting for her response, he took another drink of tea sitting back in his chair, and resting his right ankle over his left knee. He was in a famously good mood, and was a bit relieved to think that this giant threat he assumed Jesse could be, was no longer much of a threat at all. These beats were scarce nowadays but easy to deal with and hard to kill, but Kale knew how all the same.

He believed Jesse to be only half Tantibus at most, considering how nice and caring he was for everyone around him. Perhaps he has a soul, but the Tantibus in him keeps it on lock down, making Jesse nearly untouchable. A valuable attribute he was, and here Kale hadn't known about it for a few years.

User ImageOOC: Okay, sorry about that. I totally made these Hell Mutt/Beast creatures up. The word does mean Nightmare in Latin but everything else I am winging and I imagine them to look something like Michael from the first underworld movie when he shifts into a hybrid. ^__^ I think it'll work nicely for Jesse. Oh, and him being what he is, won't stop Maggie in anyway from seeing his future or anything. He is just a creature that gets underestimated due to it's kindness. They are nasty characters when they are angry though. lol

I will tell you your fortune and the out come...
What you do, is you're decision. You control your stars.

Magnolia smiled at Kale's compliment and said, "Thank you, sir. It's the same thing I was wearing during the show. I hadn't had the time to change. You look sharp this evening. May I ask the reason, sir? I am feeling fine despite the occurring mystery and sleepless night. Mr. Grimm on the other hand, has been rotten as ever. We spoil this cat to the bone. He had an interesting catch the other night... a hawk was found under the table today." That was lovely to come back to. A dead hawk. In the circle of life, the hawk would kill the cat and eat it. Not with Mr. Grimm. That cat had taken down a bald eagle last month... He was always up for game, much like Kale. The cat looked at Maggie with a 'What do you mean I'm spoiled?!' look... She rolled her eyes as she pet the cat. The black cat jumped up on the set next to Kale, looking at the books and pictures. When Kale went into business, he reveled his hunches. That would make sense to one of the marks, and why he couldn't claim Jesse's soul, but the other symbol... Before Maggie could sit down, she walked over to her stacks of books in her room. Spell books, palm readings, blood magic, black magic, herbal magic... Demonology... Dictionary on Angels... How to Hex an angel.... Hexes... coffin spells... Constellations; Complete star astronomy and mythical stories... Oh! here we go. Maggie pulled out the large book of Ancient symbols. She grabbed it and walked out to the table, placing it on the table, opening it. She looked through the symbols and looked at Kale, "That would explain the symbol on his back... but not the one on his chest, sir..." Maggie sat down and took a drink of her tea. She looked back at Kale, sitting on her legs on the chair. When Kale pulled out the picture, Mr. Grimm started to growl at the picture, his ears folding back. She raised an eyebrow when she saw the picture and asked, "If Tantibi are like dogs and do the b***h work, they will be wanting to be praised for what they do. If one feels neglected and unappreciated, he could turn against the commanders. It sounds like Jesse, but Kale, I warn you, if you want Jesse to remain by your side and have him content to what he is doing, praise him. I've noticed that he hardly gets a thanks or shown appreciation around here when I thanked him for fixing that piece of technology. Forgive my tongue, but Cassie is on a very high horse, she feels that she doesn't need to thank anyone but you. Along with Cathleen, but that was shown today after her act. The Harris Trio keeps to themselves most of the time. Chloe and Jesse are close however, she thanks him for everything. Please do not think I am mad, but try praising him when you order him to do some sort of bidding, no matter how big the task. There is no suggestion of giving him treats or cakes as reward, but a simple thank you can go a very long way." Magnolia took another sip before looking at Kale when he said he was leaving Monday to try to find Jesse's parents, "I feel rather uneasy about this departure, sir. I trust Malachi will run things smoothly to your standards, but please be back before midnight." Maggies tone didn't change. She looked up at the ceiling with her eyes, before looking back at him, "Yes, before midnight, but sooner if possible. You will have a safe journey, but please give Malachi an order to keep his senses up and on guard." Something really didn't sit right with Maggie. Usually, Kale would take Cassie with him, but how she was acting, she didn't blame him. But leaving Cassie only means trouble for Magnolia. "Powerful children that throw tantrums shall play with pets... rather viciously and during a masquerade of madness.. The child could bring death to this pet depending who they will point their grim fingers to. Wrong point and the pet will bite the child with no fatal moments," She predicted. She shook her head, "No no, Master Kale. I understand, it's nice to see you in high spirits. With this move, building and grand opening, you have been on edge," She smiled at Kale before getting up and pouring some tea in his cup and hers. She put the tea pot back on the stove and cut up some apples. She haden't eaten much today. She brought over a plate of chopped red apples and sets it between them, offering him some apples. "I know you just ate and it's not a real dinner, but nothing wrong with a small snack, right?" She smiled at Kale as she took an apple piece, eating it.

Kale nodded and thought about the marks on Jesse's skin, a memory returning to him He looked at Maggie as he sifted through the millions of memories he had stored away in his mind. "I believe, my dear, that Jesse told me his parents had gotten those marks tattooed upon him as a child. His father had one and his mother had the opposing one. So they branded him with both. You would have to ask him the rest, my mind fails me. Maybe they knew not what the symbols meant. Perhaps they didn't even know their own true nature. I will speak with them to see. As for Jesse himself, I suppose I could hold him higher on the totem pole. At the moment he ranks above half my advocates. I do not understand your prediction though. You always speak in such riddles and I know not how to decipher them. I promise to return before midnight if you wish it. I will speak with Malachi tomorrow about it.

I don't believe Jesse will turn on us. He may be a Tantibus, but I think part of him is human. There is no other explanation for his caring nature..."
Kale drank more of his tea and pondered it awhile, before closing his book, and sliding it away from him. Not wishing to dwell on it any longer for the evening, he turned on Maggie's record player and turned to whisk her into a rather intricate ballroom style dance. Knowing she could predict the steps, had she not known them already, he danced with her, without explanation. Assuming she would enjoy the surprise, he tried to make random decision spontaneously to keep her on her toes.

I will tell you your fortune and the out come...
What you do, is you're decision. You control your stars.

Looked at the book before Kale closed it, she looked back at her own and closed it as well. She looked at him, "Instincts are instincts. Human and beast may clash, but emotions always have a role in all living things. Others more sensitive than the stone hearts. My apologies, sir. About my reading and speech. I read and see that the stars tell me. My choice of language is due to the neglected education. Always changing on how speech works. But, someone plots against one of us. I know not who the child is or pet. It does make me feel better that you will return before midnight. Thank you, sir." Magnolia smiled happily at Kale. It made her feel better, but she was still dwelling on it till she figured out who played what role. When Kale turned on her record player to ballroom music, she relaxed a bit. Magnolia has found it rude to read into Ringmaster Raze's future without permission. Besides it was nice to listen to something other than silly dark bands playing during the shows. When Kale whisked her off her chair and started dancing, she fallowed his steps with ease, knowing the steps to this type of music. His attire could pass for this type of dance, but Maggie was still in her belly dancing outfit. People of that ear would find it strange. But thankfully, they were alone and in a different time period. Maggie smiled up at Kale as she had one hand in his and the other on his shoulder. The dance felt like it could go on forever and it felt like it as she stared up in the Ringmasters eyes. He was truly a wonder. Magnolia was spun before the song ended nicely. She gave Kale a curtsy like dance partners used to do during balls or formal gatherings. She smiled at Kale as she was cleaning up the books and tea cups when they sit empty. "Thank you for the lovely dance, my dearest Ringmaster. You never cease to surprise me. It's nice." She started to do the dishes before feeding Mr. Grimm and letting her long black and red hair down.

Magnolia knows that she will not be resting this night... There was too much going on that needs to be revealed. Who was plotting against who, what Jesse was and why she felt so uneasy about Kale leaving. He has left before for a day's trip and she has been fine, avoiding Cassie as much as she could, but this time... The stars made her nervous. She knew that she couldn't tell Kale not to go; A: It wasn't her place to order her Ringmaster. She was far under him according to Cassie and B: They needed to know what Jesse was exactly. They needed answers. He could be a wonderful asset or a vicious bomb waiting to go off. Plus, the spell she used on herself to keep the Asylum nightmares away worn off and her body had grown immune to it... Much like the rest of the dream spells she had used to knew. But the dreams were becoming worse. Maggie needed to find something to keep her nightmares away again... So much research, such little time...

Chloe nodded and wrapped her arms around his waist, agreeing with him, "This is our little secret get away. It's nice to get away from the noise and get to see the beauty of the world." She was in fact the perfect fit for Jesse and herself. Thankfully and hopefully, he didn't prefer the tall slim model girls that always looked so pissed off. She preferred gentle giants like Jesse. He was so nice! She looked up at him and smiled happily, "I should be thanking you, Jesse. Tonight was just so nice and I think we both needed it. I guess we aren't crazy enough to always be able to handle the madness down there. Not a problem, I'm just glad that I can finally help you with something and not stumble or knock something over." Chloe took Jesse's hand happily as she smiled happily up at him. She saw him make a wish, and wondered what he wished about. It was so cute how me made a wish to a falling star! Whatever it was, she hoped his wish came true. She stayed close to his side as they walked to her caravan. She turned around and looked up at him happily. "I did, it was outstanding. The most fun I had in forever." Her cheeks went a little pink when he tucked her hair behind her ear. It sent happy shivers down her spine. When he was asking about tomorrow night, Chloe put on a thinking face while looking up to make sure she didn't have anything going on tomorrow night. "I don't know..." She teased a bit before looking at him with a big smile, "I'm kidding. You're not creepy and probably the most normal person here. I would love to spend the evening with you as long as Cassie doesn't snap me in half or give me too much work to do. I'll be honest though, if we weren't so busy tomorrow, I'd wouldn't want to go to bed. I know it may sound childish but, I want to stay up and continue our evening. Maybe tomorrow night we will get lucky." She smiled up at Jesse before taking a step up to her Caravan. Chloe was not a little bit higher than usual and turned around to look at him. She kissed him on the cheek again and blushed, "Sweet dreams, Jesse. And thank you again for the evening." She went inside and closed the door behind her. She squealed to herself like a little high school girl that could be faintly heard outside. Chloe felt like a little weirdo. She smiled to herself and got changed into her pjs, letting her hair down from the braid. She sat in bed, getting herself covered up, thinking about this evening and possibly next. He was so dreamy.... After a few moments, for the first time, Chloe was so happy and fell asleep happily!. Hopefully Ringmaster Raze wasn't close to the hearts cause hers would be fluttering!

Jesse smiled when Chloe accepted his offer, pleasantly surprised she had agreed. He listened to her speak and smiled at the ground, agreeing with her completely. "I don't want to go either! This was perfect, and tomorrow should be just the same, hopefully anyway. Don't you worry about Cassie, I have an idea to preoccupy her. Just be careful, and watch yourselves around those twins." Jesse blushed a bit at her sentance, immediately throwing his mind in the gutter. 'Maybe tomorrow we will get lucky.' All kinds of images came to his mind, but he couldn't just acknowledge them! His thoughts were broken rather quickly when she kissed his cheek and he smiled happily to her. He nodded to her as she departed and turned to leave once she had closed the door, until he heard her faint little squeal. Figuring she knew he heard her, he didn't want her to be embarrassed so as he smiled and grew excited about her reaction, he got amped up and shouted "Yes!" in a very psyched up tone, loud enough for her to hear.

He walked back to his caravan and on the way he noticed a very intoxicated couple stumbling around. None other than Cassie and Malachi. Jesse hid in the shadows for a moment, watching and listening, hoping she would say something he could use against her. Jesse found it nearly disgusting watching the two of them. Malachi had tripped and rolled to his back, and Cassie got on her hands and knees crawling over the top of him. She whispered dirty things to him as she traced her fingers all over him. It wasn't that this sort of behavior disgusted him, but the two he was seeing together. He had though Malachi had higher standards than Cassandra, but then again when people get super wasted, their judgment is about the first thing to go. Had she drugged him, or just got him to drink that much? Cassie's words were so slurred, Jesse couldn't understand a word of it. Deciding to leave it be, he slipped around back and stayed in the dark until he reached his own caravan.

He undressed down to his boxers, flipped on his space heater, and crawled into bed, smiling at his night before his mind wandered back to Chloe's sentence. He smiled to himself and tried to shake the thoughts but couldn't. Why was he so attracted to thinking such things all of a sudden? Confused but not complaining, he cuddled into his pillow and fell asleep, slipping into another dream.

Kale's expression grew concerned. A plot? Against one of them? Surely no one would be so bold as to plot against himself, so he knew right away Maggie was in trouble. Seriousness graced his expression as he spoke. "If it would put your mind at ease, I can postpone my trip until a night where the stars agree with you. I do worry for your safety Maggie and if there is a threat on it running about, I cannot go without having an ill conscience. I will wait until the threat has passed and make sure the both of us are out of harm's way before I take my leave. As for Jesse, he isn't hurting anyone, and he has yet to shift, so I believe we have time on our side at the moment." Kale pulled Maggie into his arms in a rather secure hold, emitting a bit more emotion than he intended. "I'll never let anyone hurt you. I promise." he said as he pulled away and looked down to her. There was a sense of seriousness his voice held that even he himself could not explain.

Finding his feelings beginning to surface, it scared him some, and he released her. What the hell was going on with him? He didn't understand. He finished his tea and bid her goodnight, apologizing for his abrupt departure. He wished her sweet dreams and exited her caravan, vanishing into his trademark smoke. He arrived in front of his own caravan, slipped inside and locked the door. Collapsing into his bed, he didn't even bother to undress. His chest had a tightness that grew stronger and strnger until the pain was almost unbearable. He stumbled to his mirror in the bathroom, and looked up to see his eyes fade to bloodshot red. He gasped for air, and screamed out, clutching at his chest. Falling to his knees, he looked down to see a red light emit from where he clutched on his chest. There was a pounding happening, that he could feel within him. He collapsed further onto his floor and darkness took him from consciousness.

The beating stopped, the pain subsided, but he was trapped in a darkness he couldn't escape. Blood trickled from his mouth, as he lay almost completely lifeless on the floor. How long would he lay there before someone found him? What was happening?

I solemnly swear

The show had gone well enough, but the twins didn't really say much afterwards. They were silent around their little sister, casting each other quick looks before listening to whatever she was saying. They were wary whenever she hopped up to leave, but even after she had gone to get whatever she had left from the tent, their muscles sort of relaxed.
"Have you noticed anything odd about her recently?" Jack questioned, his chin propped up by his hand as his gaze was cast over the emptying cirque. His eyes didn't shift to his brother, he just sat sort of still.
"Yeah, I've noticed..." Finn replied quietly, before standing up and stretching. He glanced down at Jack before slowly making his way up the steps to his caravan.
"You know...we could pull that prank on the witch now." Jack spoke up, making Finn freeze on the steps. He looked back at his brother quickly, then shrugged his shoulders. For some reason the warning from Chloe danced in his head, but he quickly pushed those thoughts away.
"I'm a bit tired, Jack. Maybe some other time." His voiced was leaking with exhaustion as he opened the door to the caravan.
"You've been acting a bit different too, you know." Jack said slowly, his eyes not even bothering to glance at Finn.
"It's this place, we've been here for too long now. Everyone is getting antsy to move." Finn responded quickly, then stepped inside, yet his brother's words greeted him again.
"That's not all. It's something else too. I'm not liking it." Jack said slowly, Finn's body freezing. Jack never said things like this, it was almost odd. Jack was never worried about how things felt, he just did what he wanted.
"Don't be ridiculous. You're just tired, try to get to bed soon." With that Finn glanced at Piper jogging back to the caravans, one of her hands clutching something. She greeted the twins quickly, told them she was going to bed, then disappeared into her caravan. Finn glanced at Jack, then sighed and shut the door behind him.
Jack sat outside for a bit, staring off and trying to register what he had actually just said. It didn't take him too long to get exhausted with himself, and venture off into his caravan as well to get some well deserved rest.

that I am up to no good.

Magnolia was a little taken with what he had said. Kale was so protective of her. She shook her head and smiled a bit,"Kale, this is something you cannot postpone. I will be okay. You have made trips before. We are not even sure what will happen, to who plays what role. The longer you wait, the harder the battle will be to fight. You know that. Besides, Malachi will be here to run things in your absence." When Kale made the promised to keep her safe and pull her in his arms, she froze a bit in complete surprise and shock. Magnolia never knew that Kale hugs.... it was nice. So, this was a hug... from someone you hold dear, that's keeping your heart... literally. If Cassie was to ever witness this, she would have died or bust in attacking Maggie, but no future such as it existed. When he pulled a way and looked down at her, she looked up at him and smiled a bit, "I promise to protect you too. Even a mighty lion needs help from the meek mouse." For once, ever, she blushed a bit. Only a tinge. Why was her cheeks feeling warm!? She thought she was getting a fever.

When Kale abruptly let her go and leave, she grew a little suspicious. It was unlike him to leave her in a hurry. Magnolia bid him sweet dreams and sighed a bit. She wasn't going to be sleeping to begin with. Too much things with such little time on her mind. Maggie changed her clothes and pulled on a shaw behind her back and over her arms. She walked outside and looked up at the stars to make sure everyone was okay. Cassie was... well... busy... Malachi was the same... the three were okay. Jesse and Chloe's stars were bright tonight. What were they up to? She looked around and saw Cathleen's star a little dim, maybe under the weather. She looked a little more... wait, where was Kale's star? She looked around and began to worry. She sent a small energy wave around the cirque grounds, everyone was present but Kale. Body was here, but where was he really? She ran over to Chloe's caravan and banged on her door,
"Chloe! I need you to get up! Something had happened to our ringmaster! Wake up!" Chloe heard Maggie and sat up, but shot out of bed when something was wrong with Kale. She ran to the door in her night gown. "What happened!?" Maggie shook her head, "I don't know, Chloe. I need you to get Jesse and get to his Caravan. When you two get there, don't let anyone inside. We don't need the cirque going wild and Cassie to interrupt what I'm going to do. His body is here, but not spirit... Something happened. I have to find him." Chloe nodded and ran to get Jesse. She banged on his door and called out to him, making sure not to be too loud, "Jesse! Get up! Something happened to the Ringmaster!" When he answered the door, she told him what Magnolia had said and ran to his caravan with Jesse. Magnolia had gone to Kale's caravan and the door was locked. Typical. Usually she wouldn't bust in, but something was not right. So much for her keeping her promise... She took a step back and unlocked the door with her powers, opening it. She looked at the two of them and said, "Stay here, don't let anyone come in and interrupt me. Something's wrong. Please do this," for once, Magnolia looked terrified. No one has ever seen her so scared since she had never feared Kale or have bad fortunes. She went in and looked around, finding him in his bathroom, on the ground. Magnolia ran over and got on her knees above his head. She called his name three times and tried to feel for any breathing. Faint. She pulled his head on her lap and put her forehead on his. Where was he? Magnolia shuts the door with her power and lights candles without moving. She starts to meditate, trying to relax. It was dark. Still... There was nothing to feel. She looked around in the meditation and called out, "Kale? Kale, are you here?" Her voice echoed in the void as she looked around. In the outside word, her body became limp and cold as if death itself cloaked her.
