As the water flowed down his back, Atticus lowered his head and thought something over for a few seconds. "Shira, have given any second thoughts about being my wife?" he asked out of the blue. When the two got back together, Shira was the one that wanted them to start over and date, while Atticus still wanted to marry her. That was months ago, now that the peaceful times are upon them again, he figured it would be alright to ask her, once more.
While Shira was rinsing the shampoo from her hair, she heard Atticus' question. She looked up at him then. "Uh... proposing in the shower isn't very romantic," she told him. She was silent for a moment "I would be for it... as long as well follow through with it," she told him. She didn't want to make it sound like an insult to him but the last break up they had was extremely difficult for her to take, especially with all the talk on marriage with him. She wasn't sure if she could go through something like that again.
Atticus laughed, "Don't worry, I'm not proposing, I just wanted to know if you were okay with it." Atticus said, recalling their break up and how it ended pretty bad, it was no wonder why she didn't want to marry him, he couldn't believe that she was actually for it now. "I-I don't want to hurt you ever again." he muttered, obviously still feeling pretty depressed about what he said to her and how he acted. "Shira, you are too good for me. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to leave me or never marry me. I deserve that." Atticus admitted. Shira had constantly forgiven him and accepted his apologize, Atticus wanted to make that he never hurt her, ever again, or the next time she will leave him for good.
Shira stared up at Atticus for a moment before reaching up and placing her hand on the side of his face. She only smiled up at him and didn't say anything in reply.
Feeling Shira's hand and looking at her warming smile, Atticus felt more at ease and calm as long as she was with him. "Thank you for putting up with me and my reckless behavior." he told her before smiling. "I want to give you everything in the world. Name anything you really want and I will give it to you." he stated.
Atticus smiled, "Don't be like that. I've never given you anything you truly wanted. So name it, whether it be my love or anything. I want to give you something from the bottom of my heart." Atticus was trying to make her feel like a princess, any thing she wanted of him, he would do. This was his way of showing that he is hers and only hers. No one else will have him.
Shira glanced to the side, her blush deepening slightly "Um... your love works just fine... and being by my side no matter what..." she said, blinking and looking up at him again.
While Atticus loved seeing Shira blush and look so cute and innocent, he would not accept her wish, if she did not fully say it out loud and with feeling. So he would tease her a bit, "I'm sorry, but I can't hear you. The sound of the water is too loud, can you speak louder." Of course the water did drown a little of what she was saying, but he wanted her to look at him with confidence and say what she wanted out loud.
Shira gave him a look for a moment. "Right..." she muttered. She sighed for a moment before looking at him again "Just be by my side... and continue loving me." she told him once again.
This time as Shira spoke, Atticus would hear her loud and clear, smiling he would lean down and embrace her tightly, "I promise to always stay by your side and I will love you for all of time." he told her before the energy around his arm, began to fade in and out, but Atticus payed little attention to it. Instead, he would gently caress Shira and kiss her passionately on the lips.
Shira smiled slightly and hugged him back. She was caught off guard by the kiss though. After a moment or two, she closed her eyes and gladly kissed him back.
While the two kissed, the veil around Atticus' arm completely vanished and now his arm was getting wet. Only now realizing what had happened, Atticus reluctantly pulled away from Shira and smiled, "Looks like we'll be postponing this until some other time." he teased before stepping out the shower, "One day, I'll give you not only my love, but a family as well." he told her, hinting to the possibility of their future child.
Shira watched Atticus get out and was a bit off guard at the last thing he said. After a few moments, she smiled slightly "I'll hold you to it then." she told him before moving on "I'll be out in a few more minutes. Then we can head out." she told him.
