At this point, Mathias wasn't at all sure why he had gone after the chimera. It was a lot tougher then he thought it would be!

He wouldn't give up just yet, though. The wolpertinger, while definitely getting beat up a lot worse then he had anticipated, lunged at the creature and swiped at it, deciding to just grapple with it head on and hope to take it down.

This wasn't really working out too well in his favor either. The sting of defeat was something the wolpertinger knew well, however, and he could take it all in stride.
He tried very hard not to think about his family watching him from somewhere in the crowd. He didn't want to imagine how disappointed in him they must have been at that moment.

Even though at this point it was likely a completely hopeless situation, Mathias was not one to go down without a hell of a fight put in first. He continued to claw at the beast, fighting with everything he had left.

Knowing that it was now or never, Mathias went ballistic on his opponent, all slashing claws and snapping fangs. He just...would not give up. It was like it was hardwired in him to just keep going, no matter how beaten down he was, and in that last, final moment, he was going to make sure the chimera didn't get away with beating him so easily. And then his Fear shield shattered, and he knew it was over. With a sigh, he slumped backwards, eyes closing. He could only be angry with himself, nobody else. Monty watched as the field had been cleared and He stood watching the banners wave over head. When he realized something was moving behind him. He jerked around and came face to face with a shadow that looked just like the Monster dorms mascot. He quickly tried to punch at it. Which did nothing more then make it angrier. Levi cackled at West's response, popping back up from her crouch to survey the scene around them both as he too seemed to be doing. Oh yeah? N' here I was thinkin' ma'problems would be in demon dorm. Had she known their particular score, the ghoul likely wouldn't have poured salt on the metaphorical wound.
The tatzel caught the tail end of the display by one of her fellow monster dorm members, nodding in agreement of the demon boil's observation. Well if they're tha' rottenest 'round, then that's the sorta challenge ya'll can stick yer claws inta, I reckon. Perking a smirk, Levi placed both hands at her hips, tail curling high while she locked onto one of the serpentine shadows, declaring it her official target. I got me mine, boil. Better find one too b'fore I'm done with'it! Kekeke
Leaping towards a shadowy fiend not too far off, Levi flew claws-first with as much force as she could muster. In turn, it would earn her a jaw full of tiny fangs to the forearm, but with hands around the creature's neck, it was a decent sacrifice to make.

it didn't matter how hard Monty tried to get up off the ground he couldn't manage to. Every time he would get half way up the beast would knock him right back down. but he wasn't giving up he tried to kick but none of them connected with the shadow.
