Sekani took to the city streets a little differently tonight. The flyers and broadcasts advertising the Lunar Eclipse viewing party had done the job of turning Main Street into the most happening place after hours. Parties needed no excuses, but the heavenly creaking of celestial bodies through the infinite space from here to the moon sounded fine. Free event + free show + free food = he was there yesterday. Except he wasn't, because university among other things, but he was there in spirit. He had picked out one of the less snarky t-shirts from his wardrobe, seeing as it was a family event, and bundled in a fluff-lined jacket to counteract the breeze. Strapped at Sekani's side was his handy-dandy camcorder - the last Destiny City event was such a hit, that he couldn't not film this one. Would it be as eventful? The bluenette doubted it, since there were no roller coasters to run rampant, but there was a moon pie eating contest. Since most of the carnival video was him hoarking everything and the kitchen sink, his (increasingly questionable) viewerbase would at least have a shot at that action. Do Moonpies taste as good going down as coming up, both en masse? Inquiring minds want to know!

Nearly to the contest area, Sekani's stomach began protesting how long it had been without anything, thank you, and these teas and cakes and coffees were smelling really good. Maybe one little something wouldn't hurt his chances? Ultimately, Sekani has a warm chocolate chip cookie in one hand and his camcorder in the other on time to watch the much-anticipated eclipse. He wondered if this was like New Years and everyone was supposed to cheer. Seems legit. The shout stuck in his throat, however, when some sort of... lunar nugget or bunnyfly sauntered down from the hollowed-out moon and molested his forehead. He could scarcely watch it retreat for all of the staring accusingly at the cookie for whatever it had drugged him with.

----

Another city gathering, another potential death knell for Destiny City. Then again, it felt a little silly even to Harper to think so morbidly while dressed as a fawn. So she quieted the voice, soothed its grumpy paranoia, and sent it to bed for the night. This was not a senshi gathering and the celebration area was, for once, properly covered with police before a major catastrophe broke out. Positively preemptive. She walked down the bustling Main Street in a(n unknowingly) very mori girl-inspired outfit, layers of tans, creams, and darker browns, with bits of old lace here and there. The tasteful makeup and faux mini-antlers tied the outfit more closely to the fawn inspiration. As a final touch, she had borrowed one of her ma's old broaches to pin above her heart: oval and deep wine red. The matriarch had called it morbid, though she allowed it. In the grande scheme of the life of an older teenager, it was a small request.

Harper bought a hot coffee - mixed liberally with cream and sugar - at a popular cafe along the way. Though not a big fan of coffee, the drink warmed her bones in a way a coat simply couldn't penetrate. Brown eyes caught the steam, lazily watching it twist up to the dark sky and disappearing moon. In her own quiet moment, she admires it. Having visited the Sanctuary could not dull the impression from Earth. If only everyone knew what it stood for.

Before she knew it, Harper was near the lunar-themed costume contest area. So many people! Were they all here for the contest? There was certainly a very impressive white dress in the mix. Oh, but it was time for the eclipse! Harper watched as the last sliver of the wonderful crescent slipped into the darkness. Her smile and amazement at the wonders of astronomy faded when the fairy specks began descending. That... wasn't quite normal, was it? Anxiousness began tingling in her blood, but there was nothing to be done in such a large crowd. The little thing dared to touch her forehead, tugging away at something unseen. She reached out to snatch it from the air, but it seemed to have disappeared.

----

People and things, people and things! With nothing on the docket for her wonderful faction this night, Rhys was thoroughly enjoying the festivities. A fluffy face (or, when that failed, distracted patrons) made for lots of taste testing. A pet on the back or a scratch behind the ear was rarely too far away, though she had to watch out for a few of the tipsy ones - they got a little rough. It was usually best to direct them to a seat or a trashcan.

Sensing a change in the crowd, Rhys looked upward to see that the eclipse was upon Destiny City. How glorious was the pure dark sky! That is, until some sparkly thing poked her star sigil. No no, terrible thing, that is not for you! she barely keeps from squawking out as she jumped back.

Alistair huffed. "I'm excited," he said, and then he beckoned Lance over. "Come on, the moon's gonna be all the way covered soon." And it was then, as the last sliver of moon slipped away, that he saw some kind of strange, spectral rabbit...thing. His eyes narrowed, but before he could be sure, it was gone. "Did you...see..." Oh god, not again.

Gabriel huffed. "They're for safety," he said, sounding somewhere between grumpy and amused. However, taking his eyes away from the eclipse was the worst thing he could do, because suddenly something was bumping him - and he had a strange feeling of...a pull?

Michael’s eyebrows raised in amusement at Lune’s comment of him making jeans and a tee look good. He let the comment settle for a few moments before glancing down at his former student with a half smirk and a, “I’m too old for you, you know.”

Not that age was ever more than just a number, but Lune’s reputation wasn’t exactly on the down-low, especially when he was still a student at Azure. Personally, Michael saw no harm in it as long as everyone involved behaved responsibly and were tested regularly or whatever…

Teenagers. He was one of those once, although he usually likes to forget that.

He didn’t say anything in regards to ‘bad experiences’ but allowed Lune to see a small nod. There have been way too many bad experiences for him to be able to shake this feeling he had about tonight.

There had been a comment Michael would have liked to say in response to Lune’s apparently show of concern, but it was then that the Lunar Eclipse happened — he hadn’t even realized it was that close to it — and… something happened that had him distracted from the fact that he probably really shouldn’t be drinking, and that Lune seemed to even care about his wellbeing.

“What the hell…” he breathed, throwing his arm out to the side as if to push Lune behind him instinctively — clearly pushed to the brink of his paranoia. From the sky, something came down… some kind of creature…??

Before he could even realize that they looked like bunnies with wings, one had touched him. He made a snatch for it, but it was gone.

He hadn’t been the only one who had witnessed it. There were people all over the place breaking out into talk and some panic about what they’d just witnessed. Looking around the crowds, though… he couldn’t see anything that seemed to pose a threat.

Was this the Negaverse’s doing??

Nyasa Freeman felt the need to get out and socialize, and for once, not decked head to toe in her all too familiar Negaverse attire. The heightened security offered her a good excuse to not worry about it, and while it was hard for a cool and collective workaholic like her to ignore duty, she felt that she was doing a well enough job and all thanks to the nice, foaming apple cider she was offered by a kind, unsuspecting gentleman.

On a normal day she'd accept the drink (with some caution) and make note of the gentleman that would be unknowingly donating his energy to the Negaverse, but she'd offer him some reprise this night.

Something caught her eyes and she looked up at the tiny, winged creature that floated just above her head. She didn't say anything or reach for it, and one glimpse around told her that she wasn't the one that saw this phenomenon. However, just as it reached down and she felt a pull, it was gone, and Nyasa wasn't at all impressed with the display. A normal person would have thought her apple cider was spiked, but not Nyasa.

"Something's amiss… I can only wonder who's pulling the strings. Friend, or foe?"

"I can see that." He teased, settling in behind Alistair. Lance blinked, seeing something strange. "...Never a dull moment is there." It didn't look like anything he'd seen before. But that didn't mean s**t wasn't about to go to hell again.

"I know. I just think you look better with out them." Des snorted as he returned the glasses. He blinked. "...Gabriel?" He called, placing a hand on the teen's shoulder. "..Are you alright?"

Peter narrowed his eyes at Lilith, but then figured that yeah it would be kind of hard to remember someone’s name when all you had to go on was their voice.

“I’m Peter, I met you in the-- Sheena!” he gasped, nearly dropping his butterfly net as the kitty rubbed up against his legs. “Yeah, she’s mine! Sort of… not really. I mean, I didn’t adopt her, but she says that I belong to her, so, I guess that makes her mine,” he beamed, crouching down so he could scoop the kitty up in his arms — hopefully she wouldn’t mind the camera he had around his neck.

Another girl was there, too. One with green hair whom he thought he might have seen before, maybe at school? She seemed curious enough and he grinned back at her. “I want to try and catch moon rocks. There was a meteor that crashed into the park a couple years ago, and I never got a chance to see it, but this time I’ll be ready,” he said with a nod. “Do you go to Knightside? I’m Peter. This is Sheena, that’s Rhiannon, that’s Lilith, and that’s *********>,” he pointed at each in turn, shifting the cat in his arms so he could manage.

“Here, sit on my shoulder,” he instructed the cat, lifting her up to climb on as he lifted his camera to the moon. He wanted to be able to film the whole thing so he could show his mom and dad later. But as the moon became eclipsed… something happened.

“What’s that…?” he wondered outloud, staring at the view screen of his camera as something came down from the sky. He barely had time to realize what was happening and practically dropped his camera against his chest as he took hold of the butterfly net he had under his arm and made a wild swipe at the air.

“GOT ONE!” he whooped, pinning the net against the ground… but when he lifted it up to see what it was, it was gone.”

Rhiannon didn’t say a word, but stood and shivered in the cold as everyone else got ready to see the eclipse. Something Peter had said didn’t quite sit right with her, and even though she knew he had a tendency to stretch the truth, something about the cat telling him things… well… it wouldn’t be the first time a cat spoke…

The other woman named Lilith seemed to be curious about the cat as well… or perhaps she was just jumping to conclusions…

Besides, there was another little girl there now, so even if she learned more about what Peter mentioned, it might end up putting this little girl in danger. She forced a small smile on the girl’s behalf, but went right back to shivering and glancing around, especially at the two cats.

But once the eclipse occurred, there wasn’t really time for wondering about who might be a senshi or not… Tiny little creatures seemed to appear out of thin air and one even touched her. At first she thought she was seeing things, but Peter’s shout proved otherwise.

Alistair rolled his eyes, leaning back against his boyfriend (boyfriend!!!!) and then reaching over to take Lance's hand, twining their fingers together. "Hopefully things will be different this time." They were Tantlaus and Damocles now, not just terrified civilians.

"Didn't you see the...the rabbit things?" He'd caught a glimpse of one near Des. He should've known anything involving the moon was a bad idea - what if this was the prelude to the return of the Moon Queen?

The hug was certainly unexpected, but she returned it anyways with one of the most genuine smiles she had displayed in a while. "Nice to meet you Ever." She inferred boyfriend from the contact and the lack of explanation, but she wasn't going to make anything more of it than tipsy Zac would make.

Adira laughed lightheartedly "I know you wouldn't Zac. I went away on a trip for a while, but now I'm back- " The rest of her sentence was cut off by the appearance of a fairy bunny. "...Beautiful..." the apparition briefly brushed Adira's forehead. It felt odd, like a pull or a tug, and just as she reached up to touch it disappeared.

"Yes... bunnies? With wings?" Adira blinked a few times and looked at Zac and Ever. She wasn't drunk, but she certainly felt like she was at that moment. "You aren't the only one." What on earth? Though, given all the weird things Adira and by extension Perseus had seen she really shouldn't be surprised at this point.

"One could hope..." Lance murmured, but that still didn't stop him from pulling Ali close, just in case s**t went to hell.

"Rabbit things? No, I must have missed it." Desmond shifted closer to Gabriel, finally putting those silly glasses on. "...Gabriel?"

She seemed to be mollified by Alois's sharp glance, and dropped the apologies all together, before giveing a shrug.

" Ah well... Hes usually better behaved then this.. " She said with a sigh, leaning against Puppy, who, now out of lemonade, gave an adoring look to Alois and Porsha, lipping at his hand sweetly. She tilted her head, listening to his question. The accent was mildly distracting, but in a nice way she supposed. She grinned at Porsha " Hes an old boy though, so sometimes he feels entitled to just do as he pleases and say hello "

" Well, I've had him for a while. I'm not from Destiny city originally, I'm from out firther in the country, were having a horse isn't unnecessarily uncommon. My law horses are considered vehicals ' She grinned, eyeballing her own vehical " So Its generally not illegal to have one in the city...So when I came to the city I brought him wi- " And then suddenly there was a... a what? A rabbit with butterfly wings?

She had been so engrossed in talking with the lovely couple she hadn't even realized the eclipse had started in earnest. Didn't see the shimmering lights coming down from the sky untill suddenly it was right in her face.

Destry wasn't a senshi, or an agent of the negaverse... not a page, not a member of the dark mirror court. Just a regular run of the mill person. So Suddenly having a rabbit with butterfly wings appear out of nowhere, placing a gentle touch to her forehead, and then disappearing as quickly as it came, was.... confusing at best.

Puppy gave a quick wicker and gave a curious snort, stretching his neck out to sniff at the rabbit butterfly creatures at Porsha and Alois's faces, and then... they were just gone.

" What... did... you guys saw that right? " Destry asked, her gray eyes wide and a little scared. Maybe she was losing her marbles.... She couldn't place her finger on it but she suddenly felt as if that strange glittering impossible creature had taken something from her. Something she didn't know she had, but now left the loss like an ache in her whole body.

Also hi Harper, text for you!

Penelope had already decided that she didn't quite like Mr. Jacket (Adrian), so to see him shift his lecherous ways to the innocent costume contestent (Danica) maade her immediately step between the two. It was hard to try and justify herself, but it would be far worse if he were allowed to hurt the nice lady beside her. "I just thought that moths, with lunar moths, were close enough to the moon... and I'm pretty sure there was this one time where she destroyed a moon base." Not sure because the thought of the protector of the Earth hurting anything on the Moon, a safe haven for her, was sort of painful, but none of those thoughts or emotions bubbled up. "And it was something I could make myself... wouldn't detract from anyone's better costume."

And then the eclipse happened.

As Sailor Pasiphae, Penelope had seen a myriad of unbelievable things. Some were beautiful and breathtaking; others, horrble and nightmare-inducing. At first, she thought it would be the latter when the eclipse began to hemmorage looked as much like a swarm of locusts. So when rabbits with perfect, gossamer wings that the pitifully made card-board bits on her back were supposed to emulate appeared and touched everyone's forehead, including her own, the judgmental girl was torn. Everything pointed to something innocent, wonderful, as the moon itself now felt in her mind. But she had been in enough fights and ambushes to get a sickening feeling all the same.

"E-excuse me, I need... to um... talk to someone about this," Penelope murmured. She did not indicate what 'this' was because... well, they had to have seen the flying things too, right? Her hand instantly shot for the cell phone in her pocket and she crafted a group text to everyone she could think to inform. All of her best friends - Christa, Chris, Paris, who she knew were at the festival, and Harper and Michael, who she had no idea if they were coming or not but just to make sure they were okay - added to one group text from her with the same words.

Horatio was content to let Orah flop her wherever she wanted if it meant prolonged friend and cuddle time. The mischevious Mauvian hadn't even gotten a chance to press any of the tempting, shiny buttons before the promise of a new toy and the crinkle of unwrapping a treat she had never tried before comforted her along with being picked up again. She pointed out, "I can help with the customers too, I can run across the tables and knock stuff into trashcans like a shooting basketball game and oooo new snack!"

The small bite was quickly consumed, and Horatio made a queer looking face. The stickyness was sort of like bubblegum... even if the taste wasn't, and she found herself licking at her whiskers to try and make sure all of it had come off. "This is supposed to be a pie made on some moon? I think whatever moon that is shouldn't be baking anymore!" Her rambling stopped, however, whenever the sari-clad girl pointed out that the eclipse was happening right now. She scrambled to a better position than the super comfy lap but found an intruder.

A fluffy bunny with wings and it was rubing her forehead star?! Horatio was a friendly cat, but even that seemed a little too friendly for something that had suddenly come down in a swarm. The Himalayan immediately wrinkled her nose, and she was not one to suffer in silence as she whispered, "Hey, what the heck are you--I mean, we could probably play together or something, but you should at least introduce yourself first, I'm Horatio and--"

It was gone. Teal eyes looked up to Orah at her question and she mewed quietly, "I have no idea but do you think they'll come back? We never got a chance to play..."

He simply squeezed her fingers, rather than shake, and then withdrew his hand away, lifting it to idly brush a few stray strands of his hair from his face, the wind gently tousling the multicolored strands. Magiore's eyes followed Habibi's towards the bench, and without saying anything aloud, he followed her unspoken invitation, inclining his head towards it. He took several steps towards it and sank down on the bench, lifting one leg to casually cross it over the other, the Sherlock Holmes book tucked into his lap.

"Enjoying isn't quite the word I'd use," he answered, a little dryly, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'm not really a big fan of large gatherings, but I figured it would get me out of the house for a night."

Magiore stretched one arm across the back of the bench, tilting his head upwards to look at the sky. For a few seconds, something seemed to shift in the air; something vague and glittering, little creatures -

- little creatures? He was obviously imagining things. Magiore blinked a little and shook his head, taking a small breath before turning his head back to Habibi, giving her a slight smile.

"What about you?" he asked lightly. "Having a good time so far?"

While the parents took the rest of the pack to the park to view the eclipse, Scott Erlea and his little brother Paul were in line for the Lunar themed costume event. Neither one could participate due to lack of funds, but sometimes Scott just wanted to watch others' creativity at work.

Paul sat on top of his big brother's shoulders, looking up at the growing eclipse and wriggling so much that he threatened to fly right off of Scott's shoulders, but the teen managed to tighten his grip at just the right time. All the while, Paul was pointing to the skies, exclaiming loudly as Scott's attention fell onto a familiar sight. "Look, Scott, look! The moon's gonna disappear soon!"

"But not for long," Scott said absentmindedly, as he looked towards Penelope. Her outfit was definitely familiar to him, and he was considering approaching her, when Paul gave a gasp and pulled at his hair. "Ow, careful up there, squirt…"

"Scott, what's it doing?"

He looked up, thinking that he was talking about the moon, but his eyes caught sight of the tiny, winged, sickly adorable bunny, and he instinctively took a step back to avoid it, trying to spare himself and his brother from whatever the hell it was. "No way… what are you-?"

No matter how much he tried to escape, it only got closer, and he felt a jolt when it touched him. Then, just like that, it was gone, leaving only a very confused Scott and a very intrigued Paul, as he had no qualms in mentioning the event to his brother. "Ohhhh, does that happen at every eclipse? That was cool…

Alistair reached his other arm behind him, sliding it around Lance's shoulders. "Well, I have my knight in shining armor to keep me safe, don't I? We'll be fine." Whatever the hell it was.

"I'm okay," Gabriel said, glancing back at the eclipse. He didn't see any trace of the damned things, but he was definitely shaking a little. No, it couldn't be happening, not here, not now. It was far too soon!

The blonde rolled his eyes. "Mhmm. Though I'm pretty sure there's no 'lot' stuck on the end of my name.." Lance glanced back up at the moon, checking to see if there was anything else.

"Are you sure?" He said quietly, his hand still on the other boy's shoulder. "You look kind of pale."
