Mei had her back turned to Scott as she continued to scan the nooks and crannies at eye level and above, all the while listening to the boy talk most likely to himself. Every now and then she offered him a "mmhm" sound indicating that she wasn't ignoring him, if anything at least offing him some piece of mind she was still near and hadn't wandered off without him.
Shallow breaths to slow her rapid heart beat
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Nerves nearly shot, taught with anticipation.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Instincts screaming to get the hell out of here.
A clue... so focused on finding a clue Mei wasn't entirely prepared for the grunting sound that erupted behind her nor was she expecting the really high pitched scream that followed suit. Spinning around on her heel in the direction of the scream, Mei expected to find Fleur running away from something or someone... not Scott.
Run she heard him yell save yourselves
Run, yes... that was a good plan. However the mentality she clung so dearly to when she was powered up forced her body into motion, there was no way in hell she was about to leave him behind. She may not have her magic or increased speed but she would do all she can, to help him. Gathering the left side of her skirt with the plastic unicorn in hand she ran after the brute with the club raised above it's head. "DUCK!" she yelled the warning hoping that Scott had the sense to dodge out of the way.
Once she got close enough she swung the belt in hand hoping to land a good hit with the buckle.

It was unfortunate for Ruthie that there were no ponies in the stables. Even a rushed survey of the area could tell her that. The only things left in that place was moldy straw and the sigh of wind through the eaves.
It was obvious that it had been a while since anyone had taken care of this place, by its condition. Spider webs draped in the door ways and the rafters, straw nests dotted convenient knooks... but it was like even the birds that had made them had abandoned this place, leaving it stark and empty, the open stalls like gaping mouths to blackness.
A while after her arrival, enough time to let her get a good look around, a weird shuffling noise came from one of the back stalls, near the open door. What light might have drifted in from the outside world didn't penetrate that gloomy corner or reveal whatever it was that was making that sound. Suddenly there was a groan and a huff, as though one of the old occupants was still inside that stall.
It sounded tired and hungry... or maybe it was just her imagination? The door of the stall, unlike the others, was closed. Maybe there really was an equine here in the stables, poor thing either left behind to die by the former owners, or maybe it was a clue or a tool to help the guests in their treasure hunt. Either way, it was worth checking out, right?

Clues? He was still thinking about the clues? They were trapped in Camp Larkspur, and something may have killed their host! She gawked at Marlin for a moment, then sighed. If there was nothing else to do...
She looked at the abandoned mess hall. The tables were dark shapes through the slight light from outside. Benches were overturned and piled up in random places. No one had been here (legally) in a long time. She inched towards the tables, avoiding the long windows. There was no way she was going to be an easy target!
There was screaming coming from outside. Very faint, a long way off. But Castille froze when the first shout rang out, still as a frightened rabbit.
"Did you hear that?" she whispered, holding the flashlight like it was a club. Her shrill voice bounced off of the dirty walls. "Someone screamed!" She didn't dare breathe in case it happened again, and sure enough, another shout of alarm floated through the night and into the mess hall.

Yes, the scream was very satisfying. The lumbering thing came toward Scott and got exactly the reaction it wanted. It growled in a predatory sort of way. When Mei came at it with her belt it hardly knew what to do and grunted at it was smacked. Not that the belt could do much damage against the sheer bulk of the monster, but still, these ones were fighting back. How disappointing! It turned and fled for now, looking for new victims to torment that would not be so quick to defense.

As the attack was not responded to within 12 hours Scott, Fleur, and Mei all lose a point. The attack is considered successful.

[Response to Brute attack in Zone 1]
Lexi was uncharacteristically quite. Usually bubbling over with excited paraphrases the young girl had taken the “shock silent approached” to this whole thing. She never thought herself a scaredy cat, was even happy picking up a spider or two and had laughed of the notion that things that went Boo in the night would cause a reaction. But this was something totally different. She was experiencing this, not imagining or reading but actually walking towards the Lake with two total strangers following the cries of someone hurt. Lexi was not a happy bunny.
Nodding at Orah and Gwen suggestion she followed them, her mind trying to reassure that it was just a fallen gust, not a horrible grotesque monster waiting for her in the depths of the woods, she could do this, she could - “OH MY ******** GOD EEEEIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!” Jumping like a jackrabbit Lexi barrel rolled into the bushes, her mind freezing as her body reacted away from the hustling form that was…something just horrible! The bracelet on her arm went berserk as she tried to calm herself, her heading popping out of the leafy under bush as she looked for the two girls.
“Are you guys ok? Guys? Oh my god what was that?”

It was only looking for blood, that and the screams of the people running around its usually quiet home. How interesting that they would come and make it so easy for him! With a scary looking instrument in hand it rushed toward the trio of people in the old mess hall, stepping on broken glass from a window to warn of his coming. He spotted the blue haired girl first and focused on her, an unfortunate stroke of fate. He looked like a horror movie come to life, Jason Voorhies or Michael Myers.
"GET OUT!" he rasped, swinging his bloody implement at the three of them, a splatter of gore spraying out in an arc around his swing.

"Oh! I forgot about looking for clues. Maybe they're still around...."
Margarita gave Marlin's words some thought before Castille mentioned hearing a scream.
"No, I didn-"
Then the Rager suddenly appeared and all that filled Margarita's head was the sound of her own screaming.
He would have liked things better if there would have been fire in the firepits, especially after the millionaire's voice cut off with the sound of a growl and a gurgle. He hoped that it was just part of the event, that it was faked, but he couldn't be sure.
There were monsters.
He glanced around, checking his surroundings as far as he could see. Which, admittedly, wasn't far, but it was better than standing around doing nothing. He knew there were others in the area, though he didn't know who, or them. He didn't think he would be teaming up, but he would prefer to know where they were.
If just so he could know if something was coming.

Zone 6
Although Marlin had been to Camp Larkspur once before - down to a training event that his powered alterego had attended - there had been nothing negative about the visit and nothing really that strange. Well okay there had been talking puppets and weird riddle clues, although neither had tipped the scary scales.
He frowned as Castille, asked if they'd heard a noise and mentioned that it sounded like a scream. Come to think of it, it did ...
The thought cut off at the sound of shattering glass, along with any vague thoughts of trying to look for clues. Instead it was replaced with a simple oh s**t as something rushed at them and was that blood at the thing it was swinging at them since it sure looked like it.
He tried to duck back and away from the thing swinging out at them, hearing Margarita screaming nearby. There was three of them to one of it, but he didn't fancy their chances at just rushing it. Some sort of distraction would be nice about now.

The scream was drowned out by the crunching of breaking glass, and Castille swirled, seeing something rushing them. Or Margarita specifically. The eskimo girl let out a shriek that made her throat hurt, and she forced her mittened hand into her mouth to cut it off. No use going deaf because of a monster.
Even if it was swinging a weapon that looked a limb, complete with dark splotches of blood raining from it.
Castille's next idea was to power up, but here was no where for her to do it without blowing her secret. The tables certainly weren't big enough to hide her change, and there were only three of them in the room. It didn't take a genius to figure out when one goes away and another appears, there is something connecting the two.
What could she do? She never fought as a civilian! The answer came in a broken bench. Maybe she could throw the shards at it, scare it away.
"Marlin! Over here!" she shouted, waving her arms frantically. "We can throw something!"

Zone 6
The idea of powering up to his powered alter-ego had crossed Marlin's mind and had been immediately dismissed - it would mean instantly blowing his identity as Marlin and he had no idea if he could trust Castille or Margarita with it - after all they could be Negaverse members for all he knew.
He looked over when Castille called at him, hoping that the eskimo-dressed up teen had found something.
As he moved over to her position he noticed the broken shards and picked some up, not the best of things but they would just have to work with it given that it was there and there wasn't time to see if the Mess Hall would yield anything better.
He tried to toss the shards in his hand at the Rager, calling out "Margarita watch out" as he did so.
Verithe
thought it best to have Marlin reply here given the circumstances
Oh, yeah! Watching out was a good thing. Watching out was a thing Margarita wanted to do right now.
She dove to the side.
Wow, that thing was scary! The make-up was pretty convincing in the dark too...or maybe....
Maybe it wasn't make-up at all. That talking cat did mention monsters. Could this one be real? But....this was a Halloween, right?

Enraged by the previous attack the Brute flung itself though the undergrowth, its heavy breathing matched by snarls and howls as it pushed it way past trees and debries. It could smell the sweat of humans on its nose, taste the fear on its lips and its mind went blank with the lust of the chase. Splintering a tree as it raced its pounding feet could be heard across the complex, its vibrations felt by those nearest and it ever growing presence seeking out its next victim.
Silence and the dark were the means of this creature. Slipping through the shadows of the camp had brought him up on one human alone in on the grounds. He seemed almost nervous which peaked any passing monster's interest. So there the monster stood, silently watching the young pokemon trainer.
Cocking its head to the side, he slipped through the shadows trying to get a better look at the human.
If the man turned, he would see a shadow just slipping out of his vision as a small rock came flying from the opposite direction.
