"If you like them, that's enough for me to call you a true fan," Penelope said with a smile. She didn't see fandoms as competitive places. Everyone had to start from the beginning, right? "And that sounds just fine with me. I'll need your cell or your email address to arrange a time but--oh, and how much do I owe you? For one large Godzilla and one large Re-Animator shirt, please? I don't want to forget to give you what I owe..."

Björn started a circuit back through the hall from the turnstiles once the ingress crowd seemed to be thinning and the likelihood of impatience or eagerness from con-goers wanting in was no longer an issue.
From his vantage of Tall and Brawny, looking out over the small sea of wild colours and shiny fabrics, the whole ordeal seemed to be going great. At least as far as crowd dynamics were concerned. There weren't too many purchase bags in tow- maybe the fault of a highly high school crowed. If they had jobs, it was likely many were restricted by the state to less-than part time. It meant not much to spend, though it was a good time to pick up early holiday gifts, he thought. Not counting the whole energy-draining part. Energy draining presents would make for depressing holidays, but maybe their Queen didn't like holidays.
That was equally depressing. Björn turned his attention back to the crowds instead of thinking (which was never a good way to spend his time anyway). No one he could see was passed out or looking in danger of it. Just to get an idea of more than the part of the crowd he could see he lifted his radio and called the first aid, "This is Björn, any patients brought in? My area looks clear, so just checking if there's been any at all."
Actually, he felt a little guilty. When they'd all been given their assignments, he hadn't really looked at Amethyst's name tag. And he couldn't just call him that in public.

Arian didn't watch much anime and hadn't done much digging on the character he'd chosen to dress up as, having pretty much trawled google images of long-haired anime guys until he'd come across one that he felt he might be able to dress up as. He knew little about Nuriko beyond the fact that he had long purple hair that he wore in a braid and had no idea that he'd managed to pick a character known for his cross-dressing. He'd had no idea who the Kiki mentioned in Orah's return text was either, but reckoned that a bright red bow would be easy enough to look out for. It turned out that they weren't that far apart from each other and it wasn't long before he heard his name being called. "Hi Orah" he said with a slight smile. Kiki it seemed was a witch - or at least Arian was assuming so given the broom. He noticed the slipper-type shoes. "Hey we match" he said indicating the shoes. At least in style they did, although colour-wise his were black to fit in with the costume he was wearing. He smiled another of his slight smiles, at Orah's question about heading over to where Gwen was "Sure" he agreed, reaching out to hold the broom with an added "Want me to hold that?" as he noticed her trying to juggle it and shrug on her kitty backpack. Although the long Chinese-style top had pockets he had carried a bag as well, ditching his usual backpack for a satchel instead figuring that it would fit in better with the costume. Once Orah was done he asked "By the way you wouldn't happen to know where the Hunger Games booth is would you?" Arian hadn't got far enough to check out a list/ map on which booths were here and where. ----------------------------------- Marlin looked over as he heard another voice behind them, noticing that another teen had come to the booth, assuming that the coat-style dress and long boots combo she was wearing was some sort of cosplay outfit even though he didn't recognise the character. He gave her a cheerful smile as he agreed "It does smell lovely here" adding. "There's a queue though." After all he was next once the turquoise haired woman finished up with Castille's order and he was hungry too. Strickenized Hope it's okay that I have Marlin notice Sirsce - he's assuming she's trying to queue jump xD

Delilah had to give it to him for being well versed in the little hat she wore on her head. She would never admit it but had it not been for a few minutes on the net, she would not have known they were called 'fascinators'. Now she was glad she looked. "That is why I need to be honest with you and say I bought the had and just added the feathers." She shrugged. Even a designer such as herself knew when something was presently outside of her realm of achieving. But now it meant she was going to learn it.
"You should. You know, maybe next time we should do one together. Your jewelry would sell quickly and I can make other pieces from these little guys to scarfs or fabric based items." Delilah gave him a warm smile but it was true time was hard to do anything with. With school, trying to get into college, and then her 'double life'. She had been lucky to get this out!
As the attentioned turned back to her cousin and Cora, Delilah had to smirk. Dragon? Now that one she would need to remember. "Trust me Quenton, we are grateful someone can keep this member of the family under control." Smiling back at Mathius, she gave a shrug before looking off.
"Not to change the topic but do any of you have any idea about this 'raffle' I keep seeing posted everywhere?

"Ohohoho." Ruthie snickered. "Is itttt--" She grabbed a ticket. "--this one?" Nope. Aww. For shame. "Maybe next time." Oh well. She pocketed the ticket. Perhaps she would win the raffle itself!Back to Richard.
"Oh, what classic fandoms! How--" Suave or sexual? Suave or sexual? "fitting!" Smiling, she took his hand "Let's see--" Fingers entwined. A splendid fit. "I really like cute things, but I also like food? And flowers?" She chuckled. "Sooo, Richard?" She grinned, tugging him closer. "Any...developments since last time?" Then, soflty: "Romantically?"
Not jealousy. Curiosity! Yes! She only wanted to learn his...popularity. Nothing jealous about that. Nope. Not at all.

Qiuyue took the offered towel from Krishna, wiping the soil off her finger and retrieving the money from her purse to pay him for the plant before picking up the pen to write down the information that he required from her on the receipt itself. "Oh wow... really? I mean... that's really generous of you." She smiled at his offer of letting her have one of the loose flowers he had for sale, her gaze going over the kikus that had her attention right from the very start before she pointed sheepishly to one of the yellow blossoms. "If it's alright with you, I'd like a yellow kiku please."

Lance felt awkward as he made his way through through the crowd. "Uhm... Maybe you should walk in front..." Lance said quietly. "I don't know." He sighed. "Again, I don't know many of these shows so.."

Krishna took the reciept and carefully filled out that she had been charged ten dollars. He then reached for the yellow flower at which she had pointed and handed it to her. With his hands now free again, he tore the reciept out and gave her one copy. He then safely deposited the ten dollars into his till. "Enjoy it, miss." One enchanted flower down... many more to go. Now he simply needed to wait to see if the two others would buy the orange and blue blossoms they had expressed interest in.

Once the two siblings finally made it through the front doors and collected their badges, Shen fell in line behind his sister Mei allowing her to guide their way between people with over sized props and people who were holding up foot traffic to take a few photos. Eventually the two finally made it out initial crowd and found an open spot along the walls.
Mei pressed her back against the wall and rose up on her toes using her brothers shoulder to help her keep balance so she could scan the crowed in the hopes of finding her green eyed friend in the Hanji Zoe outfit. If only she were a few inches taller then she would have no problem spotting her friend, not that she considered herself short, no, but with all the people wearing headgear, helmets, headdresses and large props walking around made spotting Caitlyn all that more challenging.
Finally she spotted her friend as she rounded the corner near the raffle booths. "There she is!" Grabbing her brothers hand she dragged him through the crowd not being the most mindful person when it came to stopping while people took photos of others outfits. But to be honest all she wanted was to get the heck out of the entrance area and into a more open area. "Caitlyn!" she almost yelled to get her friends attention.

Castille nodded in understanding. Though it seemed that everyone here was a die-hard fan of something or other, there were a few moderates mixed in that she apparently connected with more.
"You work in a costume shop? How neat!" she exclaimed, waiting patiently for her food though her stomach was rumbling. She was glad for the ambient noise to cover it up. "That seems like a place for a creative to work. Do you make the costumes or just sell them?" Perhaps he simply repaired them if they were rentals. So many questions!
She too noticed the girl in cosplay jumping ahead of her, and sighed quietly. She wasn't one to make a scene, and she figured since she had already ordered she wouldn't get skipped. But Marlin hadn't ordered yet, and he was definitely in line. Luckily the boy was more audible than she, and she allowed him to take care if it.
She fought enough in her nights, days were meant to be peaceful.

Orah smiled brightly as Arian greeted her. It was good to see him, and great to see him dressed up too. It lent itself to the festive atmosphere and was really pretty fun. The mention of their shoes matching made her laugh and she rocked back on her heels as her friend offered to hold her broom for her.
"Oh, thanks! I think the booth Gwen is at is over there." She said as she pointed, shrugging her backpack on. She had had to mentally stop herself from calling their friend 'Tsui' and remember to call her by her civilian name... it wouldn't do to have someone over hear something like that. "Hopefully they don't plan on spending the whole time there, but I wouldn't mind glancing around. I don't have anywhere in particular I want to go, so its mostly just looking around and enjoying the crowds for me. Let me know if you do have anything in particular though, I'm perfectly fine with detouring for it."
Bag on and hair smoothed back, the teen took the broom back and tucked it under her arm where it wouldn't knock into people as they walked. The prop was pretty necessary considering who she was playing as, but it was a bit awkward in this crowded place. At least it wasn't some big weapon or wings or anything like that. It was sturdy and pretty easy to maneuver, all pluses.
"Here, this way." Orah said as she struck out into the crowd, trusting Arian to follow in her steps. She was going to check on him every so often, but it was going to be hard to keep from getting separated by people as everyone headed in their own direction.
"Gwen!" The teen called as she neared the stand, waving a slender brown arm over her head.

Cait heard her name, and she spun to see Mei. "There you are!" She called, running over to meet them. She actually pulled Mei into a quick hug, her particular physical version of a very enthusiastic hello.
Plus, she was in full Hyperactive Mad Titan Researcher mode, a little extra bubble was never a bad idea. "And this must be your brother!" She performed the soldier's salute from Attack on Titan - right hand in a fist resting over her heart, left behind her back above her waist. "Hanji Zoe, Recon Corps. Or, you know, Caitlyn when I'm not in costume."Alistair nodded, stepping in front of Lance. "Are you going to be alright?" He asked. He was well acquainted with his friend's dislike of crowded spaces. "You're doing alright so far."

"I'll live... I think." Lance said, his grip unconsciously tightening. He may be doing alright now but that doesn't mean it will last. "As long as we can find an fairly open space when we need it.. I should be alright." Lance clapped his free hand on Alistair's shoulder. "And as much as I appreciate your concern... Drawing my attention to it won't help... I'll let you know when I need to find a place."

Scott couldn't help but beam at Penelope's words, and without missing a beat, he grabbed one of Richard's cards and immediately squiggled down his name and phone number, not once realizing that he was giving his number to a member of the opposite gender. To him, it simply didn't cross his mind, and he hurriedly handed it over, before handing her the pen and another card, as he said, "Then I look forward to it! I always like to see new versions or reiterations of old things."
He glanced at the products she was buying, and immediately, he felt a ping of guilt within him. He rather liked her and knowing that he would be giving her a cursed item... it felt wrong to him. But he couldn't think of anything on the fly, and if Richard returned and found that he had purposefully let a customer walk away without a cursed shirt, how much trouble would he be in? He bit his lip and quickly did the math. Maybe she'd lose the shirts on the way? Or maybe they'd be a dud...? Surely they wouldn't drain THAT much energy...
"They're seven dollars each, so, fourteen. If that's okay?" He grabbed them and put them in a bag, knowing that he had lost a little luster between their chat and now, but he simply couldn't help himself. Quicksilver the Archangel -- Richard could tell that she was excited and he couldn't blame her. That was what he rather adored about her, and seeing her fiddle with her ticket was enough to get his mind off of some depressing matters. Why worry about anything else when he had a perfectly good distraction standing in front of him? A perfectly legal and assuming available distraction?
"I must confess that my enjoyment of them may not match that of the most enthusiastic here, but I do enjoy them from time to time," Richard said, giving a carefree shrug and casually glancing around, wondering just how far away was too far from the booth to where he wouldn't get in trouble. There were so many places he could take Ruthie right now, but he had a feeling that his leash would only extend so far. "Food and flowers, you say? Well, no food here, but there is a small flower stand where my good friend Krishna makes camp. It's not too far... we could always go pay him a visit?"
He allowed her to tug him, even when her next question forced him to consider his words. He wasn't sure if Ruthie was the type to share, so he went with a half-truth, for now. "Well, there might be someone, but I'm not sure if it'll work out. Things are getting a little weird, too weird for my liking."
Then, he returned fire, "And you? Any special someone you got your eyes on?"-- It was hard not to jump at Orah's sudden appearance, but it was good kind of jump. Gwen tried to play it cool, twisting around and striking a pose that Gaston would have done but her face betrayed the ear to ear grin that perfectly reflected her mirth on the inside. "Orah! Arian! Fancy meeting you too here! I hope I wasn't too hard to find!" She looked an arm around Anandi's arm, giving her girlfriend a playful tug and wanting to guide her towards her friends. She figured now was as good a time as any to introduce them to her girlfriend, and she was certain that they'd all get along well. "You both look great! Um, give me a second to guess... uh... Kiki and... drats, I'm drawing a blank for you, Arian. I guess I'm behind on my anime after all..." Then she pointed to herself and Anandi. "SO, can you guess who WE are? Come on, I know you know this one!"

A glance to the girl, dressed as a male, as they seemed to be teasing their girlfriend perhaps? He caught snippets of the few words spoken - something about a stolen hair style and being rich. He was a bit busy with another customer so didn't catch the whole talk, not that it was any of his business anyway.
But he was still occupied by the siblings speaking, or rather one rambling and the other trying to cease his sisters talking. It was amusing, to say the least, and gave a good idea of the dynamics there. Though he did glean some information about the male, and the female, from listening and watching the two. They were an interesting pair, especially the male. Perhaps someone to look at for corruption at some point? He would need to get to know them, outside of this event, of course but perhaps. There was just something there that had his interest.
As the two left he nodded his head one. "Enjoy the rest of the convention." And he would look forward to finding out more about the male. He had managed to be easy and calm till that little glimpse of something firmer being there.
But he did come over toward them a moment later with a smile in place. Waiting for the girl to finish with her cell phone texting he finally addressed her. "Can I help you with anything?" He no doubt was hoping to get some energy draining item into the hands of these two as well, the items he was sure would sell well today. He was hoping to sell out of his energy draining items to be honest. The more sold the better for everyone in the end.
