Could you be the devil?


Jehart was grateful for the moment alone, closing his eyes. He got under the covers and sighed, feeling tired from all the surprises today. When Tellus came back and commented on it being a lot to take in, he gave a short, slightly panicked laugh. "Within twelve hours, I've been told that I'm to marry an earth demon at a nude ceremony, wearing paint put on me by a bunch of people I don't know, which is the reason for my farming success. If you grew up believing demons to only exist in hell, and that you would one day settle down with a nice girl and farm until the Good Lord accepted you into heaven, wouldn't it be difficult for you too?" He rubbed his eyes. "It's a lot."

Jehart was tempted to take him up on that offer, but shook his head. "Wouldn't be a good host if I did that." And his hospitality was one of the few things he had left to cling to. Demon or not, he was a guest. "I just need some Dew and I'll be fine." He heaved himself back ou off the bed, heading for the kitchen to get the sugary soda. Mountain Dew was almost required for people out here. Everyone drank it.

Jehart took a long drink from the can of soda, wiping his mouth. He could feel the sugar and caffeine entering his system and he sighed happily. A sugared-up Jehart was a happy Jehart. He finished the can before heading back upstairs. His headache was easing away, and he felt much better. Seeing his betrothed curled up in a corner, buried in a blanket, made him raise an eyebrow. "Are you cold?" He asked. He figured soda wasn't something the earth demon was fond of, but Tellus didn't have to drink it. Besides, he had to completely rearrange his life plan. Tellus could deal with having a husband that drank soda.

"I do own a toothbrush, Tellus. My teeth aren't going to rot just because I drink Mountain Dew." He froze with the can halfway to his lips. "Wait, photos? You mean there are going to be pictures of us wearing nothing but paint?" He asked, hoping he was just joking. He didn't want pictures of him in his birthday suit with only spreadable pigments protecting his dignity. No. Not going to happen.

Jehart rolled his eyes. "Well it's helping me deal with all this new information and the fact that I have to rearrange my entire life because your parents decided I was good enough for you to marry. Nobody asked me. Nobody let me know until now. If I want to drink something that helps me cope with knowing my life is out of my hands, then I'm drinking it." He took another gulp to prove his point. He blanched when Tellus mentioned going on a solo mission. With his blanket?! He shook his head. "I'll leave you alone then." It would he embarrassing to just sit in there while his fiancé got off.

Jehart flushed at the question. "I wasn't going to watch. I was going to give you privacy." And he was too embarrassed to help him. He didn't know how to get another guy off anyways, so the whole idea was a no go.

Jehart shifted nervously. Trust. God dammit. "I... I don't know if I can go that far tonight... But we can kiss and maybe a little more. Sex is an intimate thing for me. Something that comes after trust, not before." He explained. He was blushing. "I'm not ready to move that fast... But we can do some things." Oh god, what was he doing?
