Well, that was amusing. It was funny to see a leopard just run off like that, he looked even more scared. Unfortunatly, she shoulden't have wasted time being amused. She turned her head, and by then, the snake had already launched forward. She did manage to step away from a 'fatal' blow, managing to move away from her neck, but on her shoulder-blade.

She does want to scream out, but holds that back, no tiem for screaming, she'd need to stop the snake before it killed her. Its quick, body wrapping around her, but she manages to arch her neck, and bite at its head. As soon as she got the grip, though, the snakes own tightened, and she started gaining a lack of air. Still, she held on, this was her only chance, her only chance. Luckly for her, this seemed to be taking an affect faster than he lck of air, the little bit she was able to breathe was managing to keep her up for longer than the snake, that had jaws crushing down against its head.

Finally, though, its grip loosened, dead. She'd lost footing moments earlier, but now allowed the dead snake's head to lie over her shoulder, though the teeth were still craved in her shoulderblades. She lies on her side, mouth open to gain the air she'd lost. But she was so still-- she almost looked dead.

Keone was terrified of snakes, but he couldn't leave Karama back there, he just couldn't. He was starting to feel ashamed at having run in the first place. Sure it had been instinct to do so, but she was his friend, at least he hoped she was his friend, and it was wrong to leave her alone with a large snake.

A shudder rolled down his spine at the thought of the snake, his tail tucked, senses screaming at him to run. But he couldn't, he had to go back, he had to! Shutting his ears to the racing of his heart and the screaming in his head, he ran, ran back toward the water, back to the leopardess.

He skidded to a stop, taking shelter behind a tree at the river bank for a moment. It would be bad to just rush in wouldn't it? He crept out from behind the tree and then froze at the sight of Karma and the snake. They were both so still, were they dead? Had he come back too late?

Swallowing his fear, Keone stepped forward toward Karama. His ears back, tail curled around his hind leg, his muscles coiled like springs, always watching the snake for any sign of movement. When he was close enough, he leaned down and nudged the leopardess, trying to stir her.

"Please get up..."

Karama dosen't really seem to mind the males presence, not even when he nuges her. She's too busy thinking, and regaining breath. That was a close one.. You almost died. You were this close. Why did you have to watch him run? How could you get distracted? Her thoughts come as if she were being scolded, but by herself. It was odd to scold yourself, but the leopardess seemed to do it often. But then, he speaks, and an ear instantly flicks towards the male's direction. Her mouth opens, for a moment looking as if she's about to speak, but instead, she just inhales more air. Slowly, she raises her head, and reached down to pull the snakes head off her shoulder, wincing as more blood escaped in the process.

First, she gets rid of the dead snake, uncurling its limp body off hers, and tossing it into the water uncerimoniously. She looks back at the male, its odd to see her this shaken, but its rather different if you had just almost died.

"I'm not easy to kill. "

He might have jumped for joy were the fear of the snake not still gnawing at him. He was happy the leopardess was alive, but he wasn't ready to relax yet. There was afterall still a snake present, even if it did appear to be dead.

He stood silently for a moment, simply watching Karama's movements and the shadow of the snake as it disappeared into the water. It was then that his eyes fell to the wound on her shoulder. Still moving a bit skiddishly, he scooped up some of the river water in his paws and poured it over the bite to help clean it, and to hopefully ease some of the pain it must have caused.

Keone didn't say anything, he didn't know what to say.

Perhaps mute was katching, she had nothing to say. She waches him pour the water on her shoulder, but after that, merely climbs up the nearest tree, and stretches out on a branch. Now, she was no more of a fool than her father had been when he was killed by lions, she had gotten distracted in a bad moment. Her eyes look down to the ground, evoiding to look at the white male; sure, she might be exagerating, but Karama had been all her lifetrying not to be a fool and make mistakes like her parents had done, but she just had, only she was lucky enough to escape. Orange orbs change direction to stare in the direction of the snakes dead form, slowly sinking into the water, while being caried downstream. Sooner or later, some carnivor would get it, or it'd just rot.

He started to move toward her, but paused in midstep, thinking better of it. Was she angry with him? He couldn't blame her if she was, he had afterall run away, leaving her to fight alone. He just...sigh...why did he have to be so afraid of snakes...

He opened his mouth as if the speak, but nothing came out. Sighing again he turned and flopped down at the base of another tree. He laid his head down, tail curled around himself, one paw idly fidgeting at the leaves and twigs of the jungle floor.

"I...sorry..."

He looked away, green eyes falling closed. His voice was faint, barely a whisper, it was all he could get out.

"I don't see why you apologise. "

She sighs, an ear flicking in the direction of the male, but her orange eyes don't leave the vanishing form of the snake. "I'm the fool that got distracted, you were smart enough to run. " Karama shifts her weight to the other side of her body, so she can arch her neck and lick the wound that remained on her shoulder without loosing balance. She'd almost died, didn't mean she'd actually let it happen.

"Are you ok? "

He might have been bit or something? Tripped? He sure seemed clumbsy enough to do something foolish.

"I...shouldn't have run...should have stayed to help..."

He sighed, wondering what she truly thought of him. Why did she ask if he was okay? She was the one that had been nearly crushed and eaten, all he had done was run. He shook his head.

"I'm not hurt..."

"That snake was too big, I don't see much you could have done. "

With a short sigh, she rolls onto her back, this was a branch thick enough to switch positions like she was doing- fortunatly, the forest seemed to have many of these trees. She streches a forepaw out to block a ray of sun that managed to slip past the leave's cover, and into her face.

"anything you wish to do? No point in just sitting around. "

The leopard fell silent, his mouth still open for a moment before he closed it. He couldn't think of anything else to say and it was best to let the subject go, no point dwelling on it.

He occupied himself with tracing patters in the earth with a single talon and simply shrugged. What was there to do? He wasn't hungry so hunting was out, he certainly didn't want to swim right now, and he didn't want to chase wildebeast again.

"I dunno..."

How fun, nothing. Rolling back on to her side, she looks down at the male, finding it more easy sense he wasen't looking back. With a short sigh, she climbs halfway down the tree, before leaping. The bite stings a bit, but it wasen't enough to bother her, even if she should stay still. She moves towards Keone, with the slightest limp, partially because some of her body members had gone slightly numb, and partially because of the wound. Karama lays down next to him, resting her head on his shoulders, in an attempt to comfort. She'd never been good at such a thing, she never had anything to comfort before-- but she coulden't help but feel this was partially her fault for acting so silent; unfortunatly, this was all she knew.

She wasen't the most social creature, she'd lived most of her life merely fighting to remain alive with no aid accept for the bits of prey others caught and left behind, wich she had to get to quickly so the vultures woulden't get to it first. This was all she could offer as comfort, to stay near him if he needed it. Only now, she had nothing else to say, but,

"Its ok. "

(( aww, Karama trying to be nice. XD ))

He would have been less surprised if she'd thrown something at him, he had half expected it. But she was laying next to him, trying to comfort him? So then...she wasn't angry with him?

A bit relieved, he sighed quietly and shifted a bit to lay his head on her paw, tail flicking ever so slightly. Though he still thought if anyone needed comforting, the leopardess did, she'd almost been eaten. But...he wasn't going to object, he kinda liked this.

"Next time...I'll try...not to run."

(( <3 She's nicer than Tibuka, thats for sure. XD ))

Karama can't help but feel a little amused at his reaction, it was that suprizing for her to do this, huh? Well, it was, even to herself, she'd only laid by her brothers after their mother had chased them and been killed. But, she can't help but give a small smile; he didn't seem as jumpy as he had been.

For a moment, she wants to talk back to his words, but is there really a reason to? He did what he wanted with his life-- she just hoped he didn't get himself killed, that'd be rather.. odd. He was 'nice', and Karama somewhat enjoyed his company-- well, as long as he wasen't sad or scared or anything.

As he lais his head back down, she presses her nose against his cheek, in a friendly sign of affection, she didn't see a reason on why she coulden't be friendly with.. a friend. A quick yawn fades into a low purr while Karama rests her head again, only next to his shoulders this time, keeping your head up that high was never good for taking a nap, in ase she decided to take one, anyways.

He could have almost forgotten about the snake, save for the small thought of it that lingered at the back of his mind though it had drifted out of sight by now.

He shifted a bit, his white fur brushing against the leopardess as he leaned into her without even thinking, it just seemed the natural thing to do. His ear flicked as he listened to her purr, his eyes growing heavy. A nap...yes that sounded like a good idea now...

She dosen't really seem bothered, instead, she seems rather content; its nice to have company, for a change. Her eyes slowly close, but it only results in her ears getting more alert, she was on the /ground/, there was nothing worst to be attacked in your sleep. But it wasen't long before she relaxed, drifting into sleep.

- Like.. An hour or so later. D: -

Karama stretches out slowly, yawning in the process. She stands, but her head remains low to nudge the form of Keone, it'd be better for him to be awake, shewasen't rude as to just leave him sleeping, but she wasen't about to sit and wait, there was no point in that either. Though, she wasen't content of waking up, it was so good to sleep on the ground, you didn't need to worry about rolling off... Not to mention, he spot besides Kone was quite warm, even if africa itself was hot.

Maybe she did like company?
