Stepping towards the Ruins was overwhelming at first, filling her with so many questions as she navigated herself about the heaps of cars and debris that littered the pathways. There seemed to be something everywhere and in not the best shape. How did she even know they were in such a condition, she wondered. Had she seen such things before?

Before...

Her thoughts halted when a figure came across her. Across them all, there were others here after all. All in the same shape as she, shadowed and without features with a feint yellow glow that echoed from their center. But that wasn't where her eyes were trained, they were on the figure that approached them. The Goddess.

Viola'i couldn't help herself, any other objective was pushed aside and she walked towards the ghostly figure. Questions. She had them. And she could feel them much more after that simple touch of her feathers.

Ryjer hovered back, eyes wide and locked on the celestial being. He could feel his heart flicker- or was that the strange glow? Same difference? What was the difference?

What was he?

He had to stop thinking, but it was like a torrent of water cascading up through the bottom of a boat. His mind was going to sink if he didn't sort it out. He swallowed thickly, stepping toward the Goddess in hopes that maybe, just maybe, she would present answers.

She loomed, althoguh loom wasn't the right word, engulfed was more apt, as suddenly the world was nothing but her light.

He gasped, eyes wide and locked up on the safe sensation, like nothing he could compare to, relief washing over him... Yes, said an ingrained part of his brain, light was good. No sooner had he revelled in the mental relief, it was gone and he was plunged into darkness. Ryjer gasped from the shock, but before he could outright panic, there was light again and he was screaming, calling out for what he had to assume was a mother- his brain tried to comprehend what was happening, but everything was too new, too strange, too brilliant, if a bit cold and sticky...

He felt arms around him and he quieted as a soft voice cooed, "This is old and gone. You were never meant to hold such a thing." The hands slipped away and he was left wobbling on his feet as his brain numbed and he forgot what it was he had just seen... remembered... as though waking up from a dream. He half heartedly tried to remember, but saw no real need.

The Goddess would look after him.

"I.." He started as he backed away to rejoin his new found comrade, but words failed him.

Vaneda held her hands out for the goddess one last time.

And the darkness embraced her.

She felt warm, safe again. The feeling of love spread throughout her small little body. Curled together with her twin, their hands interlocked even though they shouldn't even have a form of it. Her older twin, who was bigger than her, who took more of the nutrients of the womb...she left her in this safe zone.

She was scared. Without her twin...she was scared by herself. And then she was out, she was being pushed out, and something was grabbing her and pulling her and it scared her. She wasn't safe anymore. There was no safety.

No.

Put her back, where was her twin. Why?

Then the goddess was there, whispering at her. "It wasn't meant for you too see..." Vaneda nodded, was it tears she felt? She wondered. And the memory disappeared and she was left feeling safe again. Kept.

"Thank you Goddess."

Amati doesn't know how long she walks, but it is long enough to discover the discomfort of walking too long and making her legs bend in foreign yet familiar ways and stepping in rubble in shoes that really aren't meant for urban exploration, such as it is. She sees others like herself, wandering seemingly aimlessly, each one slightly different from the next. Soon, they are all that she can see; she has made the very rookie mistake of losing herself in an unknown place. She feels--and that she feels at all is something of a novelty to her--but she feels different.

There is a kind of comfort in the darkness, a familiarity here where there is nothing to see or do that is so much like the place she just came from and yet inherently different. She is content here, and warm, like the spotted blackness is welcoming her. She is not as lost as she had initially thought; instead, she is right where she belongs.

Until suddenly she isn't. Between the space of a heartbeat, the darkness turned from comforting to suffocating. All at once there's no air for her to breathe, and she doesn't know how to get back to the light. There's nothing for her to do but panic, her breathing growing harsh and fast, the terror overwhelming--

And then, just as suddenly, it vanishes, swept away by the brush of soft feathers and a soothing voice. She sinks gratefully into the Goddess' embrace, whispering, "Thank you," the first words to come out of her mouth in her short and limited memory, the least she could offer in return for the pain she could feel slipping away from her.

Ah, the rain was growing a bit...hard to handle. It felt so painful, though she couldn't imagine why! Or perhaps it always had been so...Hmmm. She took refuge and looked at the multitude of lights, her gray eyes lit in a secondhand manner.

Super curious.

Impah finally reached the goddess...and her touch brought light to her in a way that she never thought it would.

Deep in the deep. Dark in the sea grew something that shouldn't have. A pumpkin patch. Funny, why would pumpkins be in the sea. And over them stood a couple. A pretty celestial looking ghoul, with a kind face and even kinder eyes. And next to her was a half fish and half man. Merman. His face was stern but only when he wasn't looking at the ghoul.

She laced her hand with the boil's, giving him a sweet kiss.

"She will be our last you know." The ghoul said, her hair floating. "And then she will be our only."

"What will we tell the others?" He snorted, "She will be the only true heir."

"We will leave her with Undine then...and she will be raised until then." The ghoul said. "She will be loved, and they will tell her stories of us."

"I won't get to see her." He frowned, his hand reaching out to touch the pumpkin too. "That's too sad."

The ghoul said nothing, as their FEAR mingled together. And from the pumpkin it formed a small mermaid with big blue eyes...and midnight black hair.

"Our precious Amp-"

"No more little one." The goddess covered Impah's eyes. "that is not for you..." She engulfed her in wings...and then left. The safe and comfort of the goddess...it reminded her of a gentle touch when she was young. huh.

The stinging went away after a short while, and once she dusted herself off she felt phenomenally better. Now, those lights...She'd watched a few people go for them and wished to know their properties. Were they important? Did the goddesses need them? Only one way to find out...

Sucking in a breath, Omega darted out into the rain and snatched one of the fragments in slippery fingers--

"You look beautiful--"

The voice faded. Huh! Well that was nice of it to say~
