"Aiming? Who says I was aiming?" Maebe winked playfully at the girl beside her, before reaching out and shoving Jude's face with one hand after he said he wasn't at fault. She kept her hand there.. because she was comfortable enough to be a brat.

Holding her other hand out for the girl to shake, she smiled. "I'm Maebe. You're cute."

Candace watched one of the young men sitting with Ian grow quiet and almost shrink away from her. Now she was just watching him like a curious feline. Why was he nervous? Was it something she'd said? But she hadn't said anything terrible! Dorian spoke up and she turned her attention to him again, her fingers drumming idly along the back of of Ian's chair. Ooh, he spoke French. How lovely! "I was there to introduce him when he woke up," she replied with a warm smile, taking the hand that was offered to her. She made a noise of understanding as Ian explained Dorian was a Mist as if that wasn't something she had already looked into. One of her ducklings, she liked that. "I'm more often compared to a cat than a duck, Ian." She gave Dorian's hand a shake.

"Oh, life is fine. I have no complaints. How is Deus treating you all so far? Ah..I didn't catch your name," the last part had been directed at the third young man, the one who had originally caught her eye.

Heidi blinked and leaned forward to see who the other blonde was shoving. Oh, that poor guy. She turned her attention back to Maebe for a moment as the girl introduced herself, her cheeks suddenly turning pink at the unexpected compliment. That was..um...forward. "U-um..thank you? I'm Heidi...uh.."

Attention aversion, go!

"Who's your hand rest?"

To be safe, she wasn't going to name any names. Instead she quickly glanced over her shoulder at her source and smiled. "Someone I owe an ice cream to later." Sighing, she shook her head when asked if she had anything else. "Nah, unfortunately, that was all I managed to get for information. But stay on your guard. The fact that this many hunters were brought here, including all the division leads, doesn't really sit to well with me."

At Ryan's question, the sun hunter shrugged. "I don't know. But make sure to keep it to yourselves. I don't want to let on that we know more than we should, before we should."

Glancing back at Saya and Dakota, Kat's gaze then shifted back to Ryan as a sly grin spread across her lips. "I bet you can't wait to hold Saya like that, huh Ryan?" She still hadn't forgotten.

He was now in the process of wiping his tongue on a napkin, "Th'peck for yohrth'elf." He huffed over at Maebe.

The taste of human. Ewwweweewewew. Get it off of his tonguuueee.

Jude proceeded to make comical faces until he downed the complimentary glass of water and then spoke more clearly, "I only licked you because you put your hand on my face."

"Can do something in a minute," Evan muttered, smiling and shaking his head as he turned his attention towards the rest of the table. He remembered the last time he had seen that expression on Gnat's face; now was not the time and here was certainly not the place to relive that particular memory.

Gnat's not-quite-question drew him out of what threatened to be an inappropriately-timed reverie. "I was born at Camp Pendleton, southern California," he replied with an almost wistful grin. He had fond memories of his youth, of his life before, but that's all they were now and all they could ever be. For all the world knew, he was dead, and he could never go back. "How about you and Tuck? Great white North or the dirty South?"

"I don't plan on-ghgmeffofmffmfdamfitmehbeh," Suddenly there was a napkin covered hand on his face and for a brief second all he could do is flail before he finally tried to remove her hand by hand by the wrist.

He looked like he was about to hiss and spit like an ill-tempered alley cat, at least from what could be seen of his face when he tried to remove the offending limb.

"Keep this up and I will bite you and I won't be nice about it," he'd turned his head to the side so he could speak more clearly.

Maebe was about to call him on his bluff by sticking her entire hand in his mouth when Heidi made it hawkward. She turned to the girl, her eyebrows raising, before she shuffled her seat slightly closer.

"Nope. No, no way, no how, and may I add a quick hell no?" She laid her head on Heidi's shoulder, and stuck her tongue out at Jude. "Sorry, Jude. Not sorry."

She wasn't. She really wasn't.
