"Ah, all right, though I don't normally get to 'run free' with my dad almost always hovering over my shoulder so to speak. He never lets me get out and have fun... He's so controlling sometimes, well a lot of the time, actually." she said as she looked around at the other people in the store before motioning for Adrian to follow her. And as she turned around she noticed the manager coming towards them. She smiled at him before asking about getting the bow. There was a bit of uncertainty in the eyes of the manager, though he was always glad to help Lillian and he was actually glad to help one of her friends.
Lillian turned to Adrian and said, "We can get it!" she was glad that she was able to persuade the manager into allowing them to get it and she hoped that Adrian would be also. So all that they needed to do was head to the check-out and pay for everything that he had picked out.

Adrian cocked his head, frowning slightly at her words about her father, though in his opinion she should be glad she has him while he's around. He glanced around and shrugged before he followed Lillian before he listened to her and chuckled when she sounded so pleased. She has a pleasant smile, he thought.
Lillian pulled out her credit card once they got to the register and had the cashier ring everything up. She wasn't sure if Adrian would still want to go anywhere else, if he even had, before heading back to the house to get changed up. "I was just wondering if you'd like to go anywhere else or head home and you can wash up there? Just make sure that you stay out of dad's way or he may not be too happy, since he's always so 'busy' with his work stuff... He's not even doing anything when he's out of his office, though he claims that he's doing business. Although I guess that you can count that he's always got that Bluetooth stuck to his head... And is always talking to either work associates or clients... or whatever..." she said almost grumbling while talking about her father.
She didn't like her father's treatment of her at all and she wished that he'd let her have a little more space and freedom, though his words were always "If I give you a little leash then I know that you'll end up choking me with it." Even though she knew that she'd not do anything that would upset him. She told Adrian her father's words about letting her have freedom and she just about started complaining about how he controlled her and never having let her do things that most kids/teenagers did. She was always having to act like an adult and that if her father would have heard her reaction to Adrian's reaction to the dangling boat he'd have scolded her.

Adrian tilted his head with a roguish half smile. "We can head home if you like, I don't mind at all about it," he said as he cocked an eyebrow, snorting slightly at her father's words as he picked up their purchases, unconsciously shifting and settling the bow over his shoulder from force of habit without even thinking about it.
"It sounds like your father has his head up his rear a bit too often for his own good," he said with a slight shrug.
Lillian nodded. "We should really get going... I think that my dad may have heard about me hanging out with a guy, one that I have never mentioned before, and he may start asking questions... I would hate for you to see him blow..." she said as seh grabbed some of the things and left the rest for Adrian to get. She headed to her car and sighed, knowing that Adrian was right about her father, though she chose not to reply to his comment. All that she wanted to do was get home, relax some, perhaps play with her husky and then take short nap in the hammock hanging between the two maple trees behind her home.
She was really thinking of telling her father off about how he treated her and seemed to want to control every little thing that she did. usually she thought better of it, though she was seriously tempted to say something once she got home. She had said that she wouldn't want to have Adrian see her father blow and that's exactly what would happen, unless he was too shocked with the fact that Lillian was actually speaking back to him. She'd just have to wait and see what would happen, though she thought for sure that the latter of her two muses of her father's reaction would be more likely, due to how she never spoke back, even when it was clear that she didn't like what her father was telling her to do.

Adrian nodded as he scooped up the rest of the purchases and half loped, half jogged after Lillian in a fluid movement that to the untrained eye seemed more like the movement of a wild animal than that of a human. He glanced up when he heard the distant rumble of thunder, though he had the feeling that something was off about the thunder, as if something were unnatural about it. He slid into the car after Lillian and cocked his head fractionally, having a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.
As she reached her car, Lillian heard thunder rumbling in the distance and she grumbled to herself right along with it. She hated driving in the rain and she knew that she had to get home before it rained, but she was going to be careful and not reckless because she did not want to risk an accident, especially since she would not be the only one in the car. She inwardly chuckled thinking that the oncoming storm had something to do with what was probably going to happen once she got home and told her father off about how he treated her, though she shoved that from her mind because she knew things did not work like that. She started her car before pulling from the parking lot and heading for home.
She noticed that Adrian seemed a bit off and she asked him what was wrong. She gave several side glances to him to be sure that she did not miss anything that he said, if anything at all. Though she was still keeping most of her attention on the road since there were a few tiny droplets of rain hitting her car's windshield. She muttered something about rain as she drove, though said nothing after that.

Adrian tilted his head. "I get the feeling that the rain is natural... but there's something about the storm that doesn't feel right, as if it's not normal. I don't know what it is, but there's no real signs of a storm coming in, so what is creating the storm?" he said carefully. He glanced out the window and noticed something odd; all of the lightning that the storm was generating seemed to be coming to and from one particular location though he wasn't sure what it meant or if there was anything they could do about it.
Looking out at the sky as Adrian spoke, Lillian took notice that the sky seemed too clear for there to be thunder. "You know.... You're kinda right about there being no signs... Though how can there be all that ruckus and not be any visual sign of a storm...?" she said, though was mainly talking to herself. She wished that she was home with her dog Roxy because she knew that poor Roxy hated storms; natural or not. "Poor Roxy is probably terrified if she's heard all that... She has always been afraid of storms..." she mumbled thinking of her red husky.

Adrian shrugged. "No idea; for all we know it could be heat lightning, but the fact that it is raining dismisses that idea, and temperature-wise, it isn't that hot outside," he said carefully, unconsciously troubled by it though he didn't see how it could be possible.

OOC- I actually have a dog that fits Roxy's description when it comes to storms, though she's a lab-shepard mix.
Lillian wasn't liking how there seemed to be something going on with the weather, though there were no signs at all of bad weather, other than the rain. "This is kind of on the weird side... I wonder what would cause this...?" she mumbled before immediately thinking that somehow it could be her fault. She didn't know how it could be, since things like this didn't happen because of anyone, though she thought of how she had just taken in Adrian without him saying that she could, even though she was only helping him and then there was the fact taht she was thinking of purposely trying to start an argument with her father about her being able to do things that she wanted without consequence. She was a half a block from her house when her car started acting up and she had to pull over. "Stupid, dumb old car... Why when it's raining do you decide to break down?" she grumbled. "This thing always craps out.... though why now? When it's raining...? I have such bad luck......" she huffed before getting out of the car and slamming the door, thinking that the world was turning against her.

Adrian glanced up at the sky as the heavily rumbling thunder seemed to fade away as if whatever was causing it was gone, though he noticed that there were still distant rumbles of what he could tell was natural thunder. "I think I can push it, if you like," he said to Lillian, unsure how she'd answer. He inhaled sharply as he slid out of the car and into the rain, which wasn't ridiculously heavy, but it was steady.
Sighing as she leaned against the car, Lillian looked at the sky and thought of just walking home when she heard Adrian speaking. "You don't have to... I mean it's just right down that street there and it's all downhill, though I wouldn't want you to go out of your way just for me... I mean this car is small, though it still weighs more than both of us put together, plus some..." she gave in reply before kicking the tire of the car and looking from where the car was parked and where her home was.

Adrian rolled his eyes. "I'm stronger than I look, and all you'd have to do is steer it; we can stop it near the driveway... besides, you carry meat, wood, fish, and various other things for seven and a half years, you build muscle," he said with amusement, shifting his arm; he was muscular, but it was all lean muscle, more like that of a swimmer or runner than that of a bodybuilder.
As Lillian heard Adrian speaking she replied, once he was finished, with "I didn't mean to call you weak... And I can believe that. I'll get in the car so that I can steer it for you while you push." She got into her car and then said that she was ready to go as soon as he was. She didn't know what her father would say if he saw that the car broke down, again, while she was driving it. It seemed to only break down when Lillian used it, though when anyone else used it it ran fine. She thought of her Ferrari and wondered if she'd end up having that break down on her too, though she pushed that thought away because it would only distract her from helping Adrian to move the car.
