Kanata hadn't been in the Pridelands long, it was only a month or two since she had been in a partnership with Romac her friend. He couldn't make this event the big ol' grumpy butt. She flew above curiously and took in all forms from the sky. It was truly amazing to be able to achieve such a height. Kana looked around for any familiars but there was no such luck. She eyed the skies before swooping down for a closer look.

"Oh, wonderful lesson to teach them though. They may have opinions. Like opinions gravitate, but I suppose if you wish to gather like a herdbeast by all means." She smiled slightly sharply. "But of course what should the old care for the thoughts of the young?" She snorted. She honestly hadn't expected cubs, but she wouldn't run them off, either.

Avalbane joined the growing crowd below pride rock, fashionably late as she would say. The lioness moved with the grace of a queen and seemed more or less bored with the entire occasion. Someone else was the center of the pride's attention, and while that irritated her, it would have been highly improper for her to remain at her den with such a big event. Everyone was talking about it. The prince was born in another pride, brought in as a cub to learn their ways. There were some that didn't like the idea, others that didn't mind the fact, and even more that either were uninformed or indifferent. She wanted to see for herself, and perhaps form her own opinion on the matter. Perhaps worse than being stuck on the sidelines was being uninformed at the latest gossip. She sat herself down after finding an acceptable spot and took a short account of the crowd around her. Augh, so many... "I can't believe daddy's not here." She grumbled as Dalziel begrudgingly joined her. "I mean this is kind of a big deal." -- Dalziel took a seat and sighed. It was 'kind of' a big deal. It was a huge deal. Their king was getting older and with his injury, he wouldn't be able to maintain his position for too much longer. As it was now, he rarely left pride rock. It was very rare to see him out and about, and when he did go out of his way it was a difficult thing to observe. The mute lion made a face as his female companion blabbered on. She'd been talking their entire walk over... at this point, she was more or less white noise. A constant sound, always there, never really saying anything worthwhile. At least he couldn't comment... it might have been a blessing that the gods saw fit to strip him of his voice prior to his birth. He diverted his attention away from 'Bane and looked instead up to the towering rock formation that marked the center of the pride's territory. He smiled a little, sad that he didn't actually know the royals personally but hopeful that their line would continue, strong as ever. --- Tawala joined the two white lions shortly after they had seated themselves. Beside him, his elderly father prowled his way forward, sucking up the pain in his joints and the discomfort in his lower back. Tawala, the eldest of his father's most recent litter, watched the elder as he took his place and settled himself down. He laid down, rather than sat, as it was easier on his back. Tawala sat himself down, but easily dwarfed his more prideland-blooded neighbors. Mwali's size had bred true into much of his litter, as did his fiery coloration and the telltale symbol he bore proudly on his shoulder. Tawala looked up over the lions in front of him and frowned. It was...very odd. They were bringing in a prince born on the outside. He wasn't certain what he thought of the whole affair. "Apparently, we share blood with these guys? How come we couldn't get a better seat!" --- Mwali grunted. He looked ahead with his one remaining eye and folded his paws out in front of him. " We don't share blood with them. Some of your siblings do, but not us." He corrected his son in a deep, firm voice. "Koho, my first mate, was the half-sister to their early king, Mufasa." He glanced over to Tawala as the youth raised a brow. "I knew him only in passing... he was much older than I was. Koho passed not too long after that. I don't expect these youngsters to remember any of that. It would make no difference, anyhow." He looked ahead. That seemed so long ago... how many new rulers had he seen? How many had come and gone? It was difficult to reflect back too far. Things changed here so often... it was growing harder and harder to keep up to date on the pride's affairs. Perhaps his mind was finally failing him. --- Tawala frowned and looked ahead. "...still. It's going to be weird. A prince from the outside. Everyone's kinda torn on the issue. --- "Good enough reason to be. Back in my homeland, such a thing was unheard of. Breeding with an outsider was taboo, sometimes even conversing with one was- unless you meant to take them as a slave." Of course, those times were well gone by now. He had fought on the losing side of the civil war. His family had been replaced as the royal family and those that weren't able to tolerate the new rule had scattered to the wind. It had been the last he'd seen of Malik... of course, a reunion would not be an easy affair either. He had fought with the new order, and had taken his own father's eye in the process. Frowning, Mwali put a paw to the scar that ran down along the side of his face. [[ Word Count: 842 ]]

Yakujo stiffened a bit. Slaves? The lioness highly doubted that. Being polite she let the male finish his rant and took a deep breath giving her time to think about everything he just said. "Yakujo." She offered with a small smile. "Slaves? I think the pride lands might have fallen to slavery a long time ago it outsiders were all like that. " She paused gaining a coy teasing smile, " Unless the outsiders have already enslaved us all already and we're just not aware of it." There was another pause before Yakujo quickly added, "I am kidding of course. I'm from he outside my self.." It hurt to hear these paranoia theories indeed but the lioness kept that hurt to her self. Fear happened with in the best of a lion and she knew that but hurt still bleed through logic. The grumbles here and there were white noise to Kyohaku. Mwalis tail sure did look like something fun to swat at though. That was just what the cub did.

Guarin's ears perked up. Had that been his brother around here some where? If only he were taller! Then he could look above everyone's heads! "Brother?" He belted out curiously not taking into account others ears from the loud yell. "You there? Where are you?" He certainly had been blessed with a good pair of lungs and if he had been paying attention he would have noted the other cub that was about to run into him, "Oof."Guaire paced back and forth while chanting, "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!" Guaire shook his head in frustration and somewhat fear. He had wandered too far away from his mommy again and now he couldn't find her...at all! He was working himself up into a tizzy and forgot to pay attention like his mommy had been teaching him. He ran right into another and was knocked to the ground. Guaire layed there stun for a few minutes before his eyes began to water. He sniffled, "Owie." He whined out to the older cub imploringly. Whenever he did this look he got cuddles and he wanted cuddles...and mommy...and daddy. He sniffled again at the thought of being lost forever. He was a bit of dramatic so what? It could happen! The sound from above caught both the older cub and himself. It was a bird... "I want mama." He spoke plaintively. Kanata tilted her hair curiously and peered down from her perch. "What's all this then?" She watched as the two youths collided. "Ouch, you two should be more careful!" Minty green wet eyes and brown ones looked up. The one open his gob and spoke, "Oh sweetheart you lost? Maybe I can try to find them from the skies. That usually helps. What do they look like?" Kanata watched as a cute contemplative look cross his face and then be began to describe the best he could. "Um, alright I will see what I can do! Try to stay around this area okay?" She watched as he nodded. "You-" She used her wing to point at the older cub. "-make sure you watch him now." Kanata could tell they weren't family but youth needed to learn responsibility. "I will try to be back as soon as I can."When Pandra with her children she noted how business it was already and the ceremony wasn't even starting for another few hours. Good thing she had put the little ones down for a nap or they would have been cranky as all get out. Pandra used her nose to nudge all three cubs to get moving once she found the perfect spot to settle down. It was quieter here and less populated.

Biyu stuck her tongue out at her brother. "That's because you're JEALOUS!" She poked Hari's cheek. "You wish YOU were up there, don't you?" Her attention then became diverted, looking to Alake. Biyu spared a look at Hari, before giving him a playful shove and heading over to the lionesses. "Aw, we were only having some fun..." Her ears flicked, just picking up the fact that Alake was saying SOMETHING... Just not what it was. The noise of the lions around them was far too much to pick anything out. She'd have to ask later, as nosy as that was of her.One of Warrul's ears flicked as she heard someone grumbling. The lioness turned, and her eyes lit up. Now that was a lion she recognized from descriptions! She nudged Bluu and got up, heading over. "Well, bless my bones! We've never met, but this is a lion I know from looking at them by the stories I've heard! You're Mwali!" Her eyes danced with the kind of mirth of a lioness meeting the hero of a cubhood story. "Didn't the story go that you left the Firekin to join the Pridelands to be with a lioness you loved...? I may have heard part of it wrong, but I understand you gave that all up.. For love..." Okay, the hero of a ROMANTIC story... But it was a story none the less. It was also proof that somewhere, there WERE still lions who knew stories of older days, long before most of the lions gathered in the pride now.
Bluu followed Warrul, a curious expression on his face. So many red lions... And white ones. The pride seemed full of them, but the familial resemblance to the aged lion by the much younger lion was unmistakeable. If they weren't father and son, which was the first thing he figured, then they were still very closely related. "That sounds like quite the story..." It wasn't that he doubted it - That was something he figured lions did all the time. But the idea that this big red lion came from the desert was foreign to the former mountain-dweller. "What of your family, where are they all...?" He could only hazard a guess, really. The look Warrul suddenly gave him made Bluu think maybe that wasn't a good question to ask - Even she didn't know where all of her family was.Jahina's ears flicked, as she boredly watched Madaha and Kushindwa talk to his family. Her attention, like Warrul's, was grabbed by grumbling and the cream-orange lioness rose to her paws, happily heading in that direction. When her father and brother came into view, the lioness let out a purr as she brushed on her brother before rubbing her forhead against her father's. Much like her brother, she'd gained a lot of size from Mwali's Firekin blood, but wasn't nearly as big. Larger than most, but not the largest. She looked over to the gray, white, and blue lion, frowning. "Some are back in the desert, some are out in the rogueland... Probably much like your OWN family, and everyone else's here, with roots everywhere." That seemed a common thread in the Pridelands - Blood was everywhere, metaphorically speaking. All lions has relatives in another pride, two other prides, multiple prides, and out in the rogue lands. It was nothing this overly-fluffy lion should worry about.

Hari was no more or less jealous than your typical youngster would be. Not near enough to warrant accusations about it, he felt.
"I'm not --" What he'd planned to say never made it beyond intention; he was cut off by the lioness' summons and his sister's fleeting attention span. Hari shook his head and searched for the whereabouts of the friend he'd first arrived with. Alas, a quick glance around determined Kopano was now preoccupied as well. Kopano couldn't distinguish his brother's calls over those of the others around him, but he recognized the familiar form rushing his way. The collision was all but inevitable and left him with his face in the dirt.
"Oof!" That anyone could treat their elders in such a lofty manner was hard for Amira to come to terms with. What was initially nothing more than justified wariness gave way to an incredulity so mind-boggling all the lioness could do was stare. She could tell at a glance Eris was young, still with much life ahead of her and so much to learn; however, Amira couldn't recall a time she'd have been so uncouth, no matter her age.
But there certainly had been a point in her life where Mother would have done more than shake her head and chide, "You need to learn some manners, little one."
Having said that, Alake turned from Eris and to the array of juveniles. Where there had once been only two, now there were four.
Konja felt as uncertain as he looked about how to handle the sudden additions. Were they all siblings?
Given Kopano was a scrawny thing without much heft to him ,it was an easy task for Alake to lift him by the scruff of the neck and set him back on his paws beside Guarin. She lowered her head to all four of them (the set of brothers, Biyu, and Hari).
"Konja here will take to you back to your mother," said the lioness. "If you're afraid of getting lost, ride on his back."
"I want to!" Hari piped up.

Xho's eyes widened in understanding as she looked up at the young prince again studying him before looking back at Shangwe, her kind eyes filled with concern, "Shang he looks kinda scared. Shouldn't he be happy? I mean, everyone is so nice here." She trailed off a little concerned and confused. Xho's heart might be in the right place, but despite her size she was both refreshingly and concerning naive about the world. Looking back up at him, she gave a little smile, " Maybe we will just have to show him we are happy he is here. I am sure he will do good things for us!"

Usiku giggled a little at the adult. She always wondered why they were so serious about everything, how come they couldn't be as fun-loving as they likely were as cubs?
Usiku guessed she would never know.

Mwali grunted and turned his head as something, quite sharp actually, latched onto his tail. A small white cub with a blaze of starry purple was having a go at him. Smirking, he turned away and pretended not to notice. About the same time a second set of claws sank into him, just a little lower than the first. Biting back a curse, he turned his head once more to glare at the offenders. -- Zorlin had found her courage when her brother had and, not to be left out of a game, joined right in with an eager squeal of delight. The tail whipped sharply to the left, freeing itself from their paws and kicking up a few loose blades of grass. Crouching down, she waited until the tail flew up over-head and made a wild jump at it, flailing her paws about in an attempt to snag the fluffy end of the appendage. She missed narrowly and landed on all fours. "It's so fast! I thought you said this one would be slow!" -- His attention was grabbed once more, this time by a pair of his fellow pridelanders- a male and a female. The female already began swooning over his life made into a short and rather romanticized tall tale. If only it had been that simple. Kiu had let himself go blind out of love. In doing so, he had thinned down the royal line dramatically. The rulers now had more pridelander in them, in all liklihood, than they did original firekin blood. It was one of the few things Mwali held close enough to find pride in. He had sired several litters of pure firekin, and they had gone on after him, guarding their bloodline and taking pride in that, even in the face of defeat. He had fulfilled his obligation as a prince of the old pride and now found a quiet place to retire. "It led to love." He replied carefully. "I left for reasons of my own, I didn't take a mate here until some time after. I returned for love, however, and all too quickly had to say my farewell." He perked as his daughter approached and rose slightly to bump his forehead against hers. It was all the informality he would show, however. At least in the face of strangers. The male settled back against the ground and lifted his head. "She's right actually. My father passed long ago, and my brother shortly after. My children have their own lives along with their own children. I decided it was time I enjoy what was left of my own life away from the sun. I fought my battle and now I face what's left in my life with dignity. A lesson I intend on passing on." He glanced sidelong at his offspring. Tawala brushed against his sister's shoulder and offered her a smirk. At his father's cryptic words he straightened up and gave a short nod. "Y-yeah. Fight your own battles and all that. Got it." Gliri "Thank you for explaining that, Shujaa. I don't get out much." That was an understatement of monumental proportions. Gliri smiled. "You've actually told me more than I knew already." She wondered how and why such a decision would have been made, but she didn't give voice to that question. It wasn't that she unthinkingly accepted whatever decisions higher-ups made. It was more that she didn't see how her life would be changed one way or the other, for the time being. After all, the prince was only the prince, not the king yet, and she didn't know enough about him or how he intended to rule to have an opinion on him as a ruler. Probably out of her family she was the only one who wasn't particularly phased by the fact that Shujaa and one of her sons were hybrids. She alone had met hybrids before. Not all of those meetings had gone well, but they had not been universal failures either. Kiek Kiek tilted his head to one side. He had heard about those litters, although he hadn't given them much thought in the past. He probably should have told Gliri about it, but it hadn't seemed highly relevant before. No doubt she would demand a more detailed explanation when they got home. "What made you decide to stay in the Pridelands?" he asked. It didn't seem likely to him that the family had originated there, although if they had then he'd just committed a faux pas. He just had a feeling that Shujaa was a lioness with a great deal of purpose and he didn't meet too many of those. Not the sort of purpose he sensed about Shujaa anyway. Lots of lions came to the Pridelands to settle down or seek haven or family ties. Maybe he was just crazy. Triplets could be tiring. Tuva Tuva ignored the adults' conversation. They were still talking about the new heir, which meant very little to her. He was young and he wasn't from the pride. She guessed that second part was kind of weird, but everyone had to be young at some point, and it wasn't like he was the king yet. She didn't see why anyone would care about the first one. Fentara was far more interesting. She grinned at his antics, watching him turn and keeping a sharp eye on his tail, as if she expected it to do something strange. Probably he had other leopardy bits, too, but she couldn't exactly tell what they were. Actually, she wasn't sure she even knew what a leopard looked like, except that their tails apparently didn't look like proper tails. "Yeah. My tail's pretty okay for bug-swatting. Shouldn't you be smaller? I thought leopards were smaller than lions?" Maral "They're friends. I helped Kiek learn to hunt. I simply..." Maral shook his head. He'd been trying to be funny, but if you had to explain that sort of thing it just wasn't. He wasn't going to try. "I actually have an embarrassingly large family. I was part of a large litter and then my parents had a second litter that's almost grown up at this point and I'm certain they intend to add to my brothers and sisters." He attempted a smile. Socializing was hard. "Are you hunters in the pride?" he asked. The majority of the members were, which made sense considering how much game was required to keep a pride of their size fed. It was a wonder there was any game to be had, really. Perhaps the gods simply provided. Though if that was the case, Maral wondered if maybe they couldn't also make the prey they provided a little slower on the hoof, and less inclined to fight back.

Guarin had suddenly become roped into being a babysitter. By a bird. He sighed and looked down at the silver cub looking up at him curiously. "Hey there-oof!" He was nudged again from the side and he blinked when the one beside was--"Brother! There you are! Isn't this exciting?! So many felines in one place! It's so crazy~" He was about to say more when the silver cub piped in with a greeting. He watched as the bird take off and hoped she was successful in finding his family. He turned back to the older cub in time to see another bumping of two bodies. Guaire blinked as to took in the two siblings. They kinda looked alike or their markings looked somewhat the same. "'llo 'm Guaire."Kanata heard another faint collision but chose to keep flapping her wings in search of parents. A silver and bronze pair from what she recalled what the cub had said.Pandra was feline watching when she noted a little lioness cub all by herself. "Are your parents near by? You're not lost are you?" Her own three cubs nestled to her body lightly dozing. "You can stay with me if you like?" She didn't like the thought of one so little bit by herself

Inuki smiled at her and tilted his head to the side. She tried to look as patient as lionly possible as her conversation partner turned his attention to the younger lion. She was not too interested in him until she glanced his way and noted that he had a handsome pelt color, and an innocent looking face.
Probably useful things to note.
"I'm sure everyone is just fine," she said evenly, though an impatient swing of her tail indicated that she was tired of the distraction. She wanted to focus on the male she'd met first, then move on to other members of the pride at first, just to get her bearings. Test the waters. See where she might be comfortable, and who might help her get that way. Friends who would be willing to help cushion her life.
Or give her the things she wanted, and needed. She didn't think about the male beside her, the one she had come with. She knew he was aware of what they were doing now. What they always did.
Potewa smiled at her leisurely.
"If either of us wanted cubs, I'm sure we could settled down and have some eventually. But her life is her own, as mine is, and I am not in a hurry for it. At least, not until... well." He shrugged, either playing coy or actually bashful of the idea of making a family, with or without Inuka. He looked at the dark pelted lioness from under his eyebrows, and though he was a larger lion he looked like a little cub talking about the same thing.
He chuckled and shook his head.
"Oh. I think this will be a nice place to stay. I'm sorry if I'm... intruding. I mean. I just realized... " He glanced over at the other male, then back to Hviske meaningfully. "I don't mean to intrude," he said again.

Hadaya looked at Kushindwa and felt his skin under his fur heating up. He was embarrassed, in one way, but he knew that what the other thought was pretty accurate in his assessment.
Hadaya was a fail face. But he did have great kids.
He was just the kind of fail where all his kids came and ended up living in the same pride as him, mostly by a stroke of luck or fate that even his feeble seer powers hadn't seen.
He looked at Dayo, as if for help, though he knew she couldn't make this any less overwhelming for him. And yet he felt happy, proud. Very proud. Looking at all their faces, seeing how far they had all come, hearing how nice and happy they all seemed to be... it was good for a father to know that his children turned out okay, that they were making their lives for themselves.
Utanzi looked content to be seated near his sister, wanting to catch up, while Vizuri and Legea watched Janga and considered his proposal. No one seemed too fussed by the new prince and that was good, at least. He would hate to see this large a group all upset and frustrated rather than happy.

How comically alike these two were, in their own subtle ways. It made Calypso wonder if they had come here together; and in that regard, she envied them. They would have someone to experience not only this moment, but acclimination in general with, which was something she would always muddle through on her own.
She waited patiently for the female to finish her thought, and when it seemed she had been stalled, she jumped into the fray. The looked she had been given was starting to creep her out. "Seeking a new home is hard enough on it's own, when one doesn't feel right in their birth lands, but to lose your homes...for that, I am very sorry." How long had she wandered, aimlessly trecking land, just because a few higher ups in her home pride ruined it all?
"Jicho, Rekhet, I would like to welcome you to the Pridelands." Calypso stood proud and tall. "My name is Calypso, and if there is ever anything that I can do for you, please, let me know."
