He sighed deeply as he found himself in another unfamiliar and overgrown room.
Sometimes you just had to admit you were lost.

As the monster fell into a pile of cracked pieces on the floor, Jordan watch for a few moments to make sure it wasn't going to reform itself and renew its attack. Then he turned to Harrison. "Here, hold still," he said, and held Ferros up in front of him. The weapon's runes and the winding cracks on his barrel lit up in a steady, bright glow, and a cloud of steam wreathed out of the hammer with a soft hiss, flowing outwards to wrap itself around Harrison, warm and soothing.
Ferros hissed a contented sigh as the energy of the charge flowed out of him, settling back into watchful alertness.

He didn't like having to split up for this part, but it was unavoidable; as before, as soon as he'd stepped into the first room of the maze, it was as though he was in a separate world entirely, cut off from the others. At least the cool, quiet, featureless rooms held no hazards, only the symbols on the floor.

He was almost certain that this was that second room. Again. He dug a marker out of his pocket, crouched down, and marked an X in the middle of the floor. Then he turned and went back through the door he'd just come from.

This definitely wasn't the room he'd been in a minute ago. There was a star on the floor, and he hadn't seen that before. He pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance and crossed the room to the door on the opposite wall.

Another mostly-featureless but blank-floored room. Jordan paused to look around, listening for any sign of anyone else. No voices, no footsteps ... it was kind of spooky. He sighed. I guess we just keep going.
They were on the other side when we got through last time, Ferros said comfortingly.
