The tall man brought a club down hard on C'ross, but he blocked the heavy weapon with his forearm before it came down on his head. The impact still rattled him all the way up to the shoulder, but it was his off hand; it was neither broken nor painful enough to rattle him.
Instinct told him to turn and fight his new attacker, but intellect told him to finish the fight he'd already started. He would prefer the odds of the dragonriders versus two opponents rather than three, and he still wanted to take that knife. So he continued his assault on the man with the knife, closing with a devastating haymaker that would hopefully knock the man out altogether.

S'lin flinched back as the wherholders started fighting back. Fighting was really not her strong suit, but running did not seem to be an option. She swung at the man with the knife again, trying to knock the guy out so they could get away.

Dice 1 - TallMan vs V'lay HP: 10/30 Damage taken: 6 + 14 = 20 Damage done: 4 + 2 (blunt weapon) = 6 ========================= Dice 2 - Torchman vs V'lay HP: 26/30 Damage taken: 4 Damage done: 4 + 2 (blunt weapon) = 6 ========================= C'ross' blow was true - the man with the knife was sent reeling. The follow up from S'lin laid him out cold on the floor.
So focused had the tall man been on striking C'ross the tall man failed to pay attention to the rest of his adversaries. Felix's punch cracked against his jaw and left him spitting blood but it was V'lay's attack that really did the damage; the rid'er blade plunged deep into his back. Crying out in pain he spun around and swung his club at V'lay's head.
The man with the torch hissed in pain as Wen's knife sliced into his arm and his attention was nearly diverted onto the young rider, but seeing V'lay's dagger plunge deep into his companion renewed his rage and he lunged again. InstructionsYou have 48 hours to complete the mission! Failure results in capture.

Seeing the man with the knife go down, was a relief. One less person to have to deal with. But she was no fighter, and could really use some kind of weapon to even the odds a little. Fortunately, with the wherholder down his weapon was now free. She lunged for the blade that had dropped from his hand, then gripped it tight as she came up to fend off the remaining wherholders.

They were both after him, now. The tall one that he had attacked to keep him from attacking the young man, and the man with the torch who had landed the blow before. V'lay tried to back away, tried to get out of close quarters so the clubs wouldn't reach, but his shoulderblades scraped wall. s**t.
V'lay? Are you all right? What's going on in there!? Vinath's voice in his head was panicked, and V'lay reached out mentally to reassure him just as the tall man's club hit his shoulder again. The bluerider gasped incoherent pain, twisting away from the man and clasping his shoulder. But he hadn't been prepared for the man with the torch to come back. This blow struck firmly on his sternum, knocking the breath out of him and leaving him gasping. The only blessing had been that neither had hit his head, and he had been lucky enough to keep his knife.
"Wherholder scum!" was the first thing he gasped out when he could breathe again, and without really thinking, acting more on instinct and adrenaline than any kind of plan, he lunged at the taller man again.

The man with the knife crumpled, and before C'ross could go for it, another dragonrider had already taken up the knife. It didn't trouble him overmuch; C'ross was used to fighting bare-knuckled when the situation demanded it, and it would hardly deter him now.
V'lay's cry of wherholder scum! alerted him that the man was in trouble. C'ross was dimly aware that V'lay had been the one who kept the tall man off C'ross so he could finish the man with the knife. Well, time for him to return the favor.
By turning around to face V'lay, the tall man had left his back open to C'ross, who took the opportunity to strike fast and hard.

There was blood on his knuckles and his hand and wrist throbbed with a subtle pain. The group had crowded around the Tallman, seeming intent on finishing him off. While he managed to dodge the clubs and knives meant for other targets, Felix threw another punch, it being the only thing he could do.

Tallman dodging Felix HP: 1/30 Damage taken: (5 + 4 + 6) - 6 = 9 ==========
The tall man took another nasty slash from V'lay and a hard punch from C'ross but he just about managed to evade Felix's attack. It was clear however that he was on his last legs; he was swaying, barely seeming able to keep his grip on his club.
The man with the torch was faring better, but that couldn't remain the case for long. Seeing his situation growing more and more desperate he swung his blazing weapon at V'lay again, fear beginning to creep into his eyes.

S'lin took a moment to gauge the situation before jumping back into the fight. The tallest of the wherholders was being ganged up on, he would be down in no time. On the other hand, the one with the torch was attacking V'lay, and the rider looked to be in trouble. He could use some help, then. Though she was unused to her new weapon, she knew well enough that the pointy end went into the enemy, so she stepped forward to jab at the wherholder.

Two down.
Well, not two down precisely, but the tall man looked to be on his last legs; he'd spent the last of his energy dodging a hit rather than striking at V'lay again, and C'ross suspected he wouldn't last another round of fighting when he was barely able to hang onto his weapon.
Pivoting smoothly, he slammed an elbow into the ribs of the man with the torch. Good solid hit, he could feel from the way it connected; not as good as the blow that had taken out the man with the knife, but the man with the torch wasn't going to last much longer.

'I'm a bit busy Rynsemth. And I doubt Cai would approve of me sitting on her to keep her out of the fray. I'll patch her up when we get moving.' He sent and sliced at the man with the torch, his blade shiny with the man's blood.
