He nodded his head, his eyes following her lower body when she went for her slippers.
"Of course, I can do that. I'll just say I lost my former master foolishly to you after he heard you took on the blood knight, and you took me in so I would not follow down his path."

"That'll do." Lilith said, nodding approvingly as she sat down on the bed and put on her slippers.
"I'll give you a head start so we get to the entrance hall about the same time as each other... Troy."

He smiled, heading out the door and towards the entrance hall. Lloyd, or better yet Troy was once a Paladin himself, so he knew his way around the temple easily enough.

Eric stopped reading from there. This arc seemed to be ending, the story seemed so scattered, being that it didn't seem to be written from the Blood Knight's point of view, but the Paladins. Furthermore, the story had little to speak of with the Paladin being alone without the Blood Knight.
"Why would a paladin even consider this. Doesn't she understand the consequences?" He asked Roxanne, she was a woman, so perhaps she could give him some understanding.

"I'm sure she is well aware of the consequences," Roxanne answered, "She probably saw something in the blood knight that was kept to herself and not mentioned in the book. Besides the secret is still under wraps, no harm yet."

"I guess you're right." Eric ran his hand slowly on her round belly around her navel, not realizing how sensitive it must be for her lately. "Besides, you and I should not be ones talk I guess. Given our own consequences." He added.

Roxanne stifled a giggle as Eric's hand found a ticklish spot on her belly.
"Well put," Roxanne replied, glancing back towards camp to make sure nobody was looking their direction. Confident everybody was asleep or otherwise occupied, she leaned over and kissed Eric on the lips.
"What I carry at the moment might not be yours, but I can't wait till I get the chance to do so..." She added.

So she was also ticklish there too. He would have to remember that. He kissed her back, Roxanne was a poison and yet he could not resist it's intoxication.
She surprised him though when she confessed of wanting to carry his. "Mine? Really? Roxanne, I...I think we should get back to this book while the night is still young." Said Eric, wanting to get off the subject. And fast, the look in her eyes, she just might find a way to do that right now!

The story led them off on another brief chapter. It appeared that no one recognized that Troy was actually Lloyd. All he had to do was keep that beard in check. Not even Keith who not only saw the blood knight's armor before, but shared a room.
Well, not entirely, Keith had his doubts, he wondered where he came from. Perhaps he would have to spy on him. The questions Troy would ask about Lilith weren't to be repeated, especially not to Lilith, so he wondered just how he became a Paladin.
Now that he thought about it, he never saw Troy use any Paladin techniques...
Today, the Order gave Lilith and Troy a specific mission. To slay a Death Dragon that has been terrorizing a neighboring village. Giving their assignment, the two were well on their way travelling together.

Roxanne couldn't help but look disappointed as Eric declined her attentions but the more she thought about it the more she was aware that such actions might have drawn the attention of their companions so she let the topic drop.
"Fine, fine..." She muttered, returning her head to its location atop Eric's shoulder as they continued to read Lilith's journal.

"You seem unusually... quite." Lilith stated, breaking the silence that had surrounded them since leaving the temple early that morning.
"Something wrong? Or you just simply enjoying the view?" She added, looking over her shoulder at Lloyd/Troy who followed a few yards behind on an average horse while Lilith's warhorse took lead.

"Lift your big *** a bit higher and I'll answer that with a yes." Lloyd had his arms crossed as he rode behind her on a horse of his own. The blood knight always rode like this, and now that he was out of the way of the order, he could finally ride the way he wanted. He wished he could find his dark horse, but that couldn't be helped either. "That death dragon is one of Leon's familiars. His familiars. You know what that means, then?"

"There's the Lloyd I know," Lilith returned with a smile.
"Of course. A familiar is like a small minion for a wizard." She added in answer to his question. "But familiar or not, it is undead and we... or at least myself, are its bane."

"You are anyway, but that is not what concerns me. Leon had to summon his familiar in the first place. Which means he has returned." He explained to her. Leon was the one that he spoke about in his stories. Lloyd clenched a fist. "And I guess it's my turn to share in this accursed fate." He said bitterly, he had to end it here somehow, this could not carry on not another generation longer.

Lilith shrugs. "It was bound to happen sooner or later. Evil can never be vanquished completely. For without there is no balance." Lilith states, pulling some hard tack from her saddle bag.
Cocking an eyebrow she glanced over her shoulder again. "Would you have it any other way? Better this than slinking about the shadows waiting for it to find you."

"That's the problem, Lilith. I can't be sure what I want. I don't mean to sound depressing, but it's hard trying to discern my rational thoughts from the blood lust. All I'm certain about is what I think of you, and that I want this to end for good." Said Lloyd, he was beginning to get angry at himself for not finding a cure. He pushed his horse to go faster, he could see a lair up ahead. It was just big enough to hold the dragon. "Up ahead, lets check that cave."

"Aye, lets." Lilith said.
If the dragon they hunted was indeed in the cave they approached, it would be for the best if they cleared the open field with haste. Urging her horse from a walk to fast trot, the pair left the trail and headed towards the yawning cave entrance. Unwittingly giving Lloyd the view he desired, Lilith stood up in her saddle to ease some of pressure on her horse's spine and coax more speed from it.

Lloyd was satisfied, for now anyway. Viewing would only hold his interest for so long. But at least it gave him some motivation to keep moving forward, and slay this accursed creature.
"I should warn you, Lilith. Legends of the Death Dragon claims that it has the ability to conjure up sorcery."
With the cave entrance in front of them, the two dismounted their steeds and headed inside. Dark, cold and damp, it appeared to be unexplored. Yet there was just enough light to see around them. The Death Dragon must exit and enter the cave from above, as the cave entrance the knights headed in was human sized.
