“Yeah that’s the thing. My dad always described him as rash and foolish. I think he’s way off the mark on Me’urra and that kinda scares me.” She laid her head down next to his barely touching. “Guess so. Or at least as alone as we can get in Nocturne and Me’urra’s den. I don’t know much about their connections so who knows who or what will stop by. I think Me’urra’s got family, but I don’t know how big or where only that they aren’t part of this herd. Think Nocturne know’s ‘em?”

"The truth is often skewed by bias in rivalries," Itzal replied calmly. "It's also possible that your father saw one or more moments when Me'urra lost his composure, giving the impression that he is rash." As for the 'connections'... "Nocturne likely only has connections through Me'urra, so if anyone visits, it would be because of him--and Nocturne would likely know them. Unfortunately, Me'urra is one that I do not have much information on. The gold markings look vaguely familiar, but I can't recall where I've seen them before." He sighed, absently shifting and causing their noses to touch. "I guess I could ask the Punk..."

“Truth at the end of the day is written by those who have lived to tell the tale. Right now there are more than one truth circling the air and in time we will see which one prevails, but for now I’m of the mindset my father was very wrong.” Aleda shook her head really not liking thinking her father so fallible or that Me’urra mind snap on them leading them to trouble. Still what Itz was saying did make sense after all Me’urra was clearly running the show around here with Noct’s full concent. “Maybe, you never know though so I guess it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Besides then you’d have something for you and your sister to talk about rather than awkward creepy silence.” She grinned at him while she tried to place the name Punk. It had set off a bell in the back of her mind she couldn’t place right away.

"I've heard that opinion before... it's akin to the idea that justice will always triumph in war because the victor becomes justice." Itzal nodded slowly to her opinion, accepting it while neither agreeing nor disagreeing with it. He didn't know Cardinal well enough to say either way. The stallion gave Aleda his attention for as long as he could, but then his attention span began wandering. The red stallion lightly pressed his nose to the mare's neck, his eyes attempting to shut again. "You're... distracting." Was that... really his voice? He wasn't sure his tone had ever been that gentle before--especially in adulthood. Something... something was changing. He was changing. Something about Aleda seemed to be dredging up parts of himself he hadn't known existed. It was odd, almost as odd as her ability to draw his dull blue eyes to her.

His words bothered her because the whole idea bothered her but she really couldn’t argue with it. “So if the king wins the war and slaughters all the of the Sixers then we are in the wrong, but if we win then the king and his pathetic two legers are in the wrong.” She wasn’t really asking just thinking aloud. She had never viewed herself as being in the wrong she was raised that humans were weak. That they were inferior as were all northern souls aligned with them. His other comment made her smile. “Well of course. I’m perfection in the flesh made just to distract and captivate the hearts and minds of my devoted followers. That is if I had any.” She let out a snort shaking her head softly. Nosing him back softly she practically purred into his neck. “You’re warm. I like that.” She scooted as close to him as she could get. “So where are you from originally?”

"That's how the concept goes." And Itzal wasn't one to argue with it; not with his background. Aleda's nosing was not unpleasant and her purring made him... shiver slightly. Her closer proximity was welcome, albeit making her even more distracting. "... A battlefield." That's where he'd been born. "Somewhere along the border between the Six's territory and the neutral lands. I think near the mountains..."

A battlefield? Like that really narrowed down the isle much given it’s history. Still the fact he wasn’t a northern born fool made her a bit happier. “mm well that’s something I’d like to see. I’ve never been to the mountains before. Who knows maybe I’ll meet more of your family. The ones you didn’t kill off. I mean the ones like Noct. Any of those around?”

Itzal nodded to her suggestion, though her talk about family made him frown. "... Haides is alive. A musical punk convinced me to go see him once. However, he lives farther to the north, so it isn't likely you'd meet him. I guess it's possible Senka is alive too... she wandered off before the Hellsong herd found us." He went silent for several moments before adding, "The likelihood of Jaalam* being alive is... close to zero." His eyes narrowed at the thought, anger simmering in his gaze. Just the thought of his younger brother's almost certain demise made his blood boil...
(( *Just a tentative name. It might change. ))

Haides, creepy name. Musical punk? Oh there was no way. “Would this musical punk be Punk C.A.B?” There was no way the isle was small but that would just be stupid. Senka cute name, Hellsong and Jaalam. Huh an interesting name set and likely an interesting family. “Well I wouldn’t bet on not seeing the family. I think I would risk a trip up north for a while if it meant meeting more interesting Azerin like you. You could even introduce me as your mate” She purred to his side again. “After all I don’t see that you mind my presence and I certainly don’t mind yours.” She purred softly and seductively.

"That's correct. Apparently he and Haides know each other well." Itzal's skin prickled happily at her purring. Any protests he could find vanished at her last comments. "You're too distracting to mind," he murmured in reply, lightly nuzzling Aleda's neck. "I only want to introduce you as my mate... if you actually are my mate." Which was actually a pleasant thought, he found. The stallion was enjoying her company, something he could say of virtually no Azrein outside her family.

Oh the nuzzling back was very nice~ It was the first time he was like this and Aleda felt a surge of playfulness. “Well I guess it’ll have to be how you introduce me because mates are distracting to the mind and as you said I am to you. Now all that’s left to make official in some form.” She winked at him. She was tempted to ask how long Noct would be gone but it was doubtful Itzy would know. “so then my dear Itzy do you have any range to call home or should we find one together a ways away from my father who will want to kill you?”

Itzal stared at her for a moment. Then he did something he hadn't been capable of doing for quite some time. Itzal smiled--a true, genuine smile. It was only for a moment, but it had been there. "I don't. So we get to wander together to find one... and keep me from dying from your father in the process." If Cardinal was a protective father as he'd been suggested to be, Itzal was sure it was only a matter of time before the bird Azrein went searching for his beloved daughter. Nuzzling her again, he added, "And then we can worry about making things official." After the years of training, it was hard to get emotion back into his voice, but he thought he managed to get some in there. Hopefully some good ones. It sounded different than his usual voice, though he couldn't say how. It wasn't hostile or anything, so he hoped it sounded like the tease it was supposed to sound like.

“Sounds like a start of a plan to me.” She tossed on a clearly fake pout just for his benift. “Though being in the same cave as such a handsome stallion I really wouldn’t mind making it official now.” She grinned vivaciously. “Still I suppose giving my dad another reason to hunt you down really could be put off for a while at least.” She jerked her head at the entrance. “Dad and your sister’s mate really dislike one another so me going off with you will really put a tickle in his nose. The only reason I’m ok here is because Me’urra knows it’ll piss my dad off and Noct told him how I feel about being stifled by dad. So this is kind of their way to get at him and Dad likely doesn’t know I come he but mom thinks someday I’ll hear something that could be used to take Me’urra down. I never bother listening so that won’t happen, but what they don’t know won’t hurt me.” She winked at Itzy. "So we have about a day to plan before I have to go and check in with my dad before he starts freaking out. Then after that we have a week before I'll be missed." She was doing the math in her head about how long it would take to weasel some information about the land on the way north without arousing any suspicion. "And I bet I could extend that week."

Itzal cracked another smile. "Don't tempt me," he murmured in reply to the flirt. Though he had to agree with the logical point that they'd both come to--and she mentioned just after her little flirt. He listened to her talk, nodding to her plan. "Should I stay here while you check in with your father?" After all, it would be bad if Cardinal caught him with Aleda before he was healed. Even at full health, a battle against Cardinal would be a nightmare--it wouldn't be anything like the fight against Garth earlier. Even with that knowledge, he knew he would be uncomfortable until she returned. The mare had, after all, returned a sense of normalcy to his being... and was his unofficial mate. No one had been able to worm their way into his heart before. Occasionally he made a friend, but Aleda... Aleda was something else completely. He'd be glad when they found a little niche somewhere that Cardinal wouldn't find them.

Having mostly just been musing aloud she really didn’t think that Itzy would take her seriously. It was amazing. Her family never did thinking she was all vain and no brains. It was.. nice. “Yeah. That would likely be the best. I’m not usually followed around by others so coming home with you in tow might not be the best idea I’ve ever had. Besides you can chat with your sister, maybe find out if she wants to come.” It was doubtful but still family was family no matter how twisted it seemed to be. “Either that or you could have a nice long chat with Me’urra.” That last part was said with a laugh and an eye roll. There was no way she would be comfortable around Me’urra unless he was a corpse and she was still fifty feet away. Itzy sure made her life interesting. By being with him she was tied to her father’s enemy, a stallion who killed off the herd that kidnapped him, and Noct who was about as social as a rock. Not only that but she might be leaving the only home she ever knew to go only gods knew where and she might not ever come back. Blinking she grinned. Time to come up with a plan of attack on how to delay the search for herself. Perhaps she could say she was going to sneak up north to see the sight of Tiburnon’s Sunrise. Yeah her dad would buy that.
