Tori still smiled sheepishly as she still wanted the books, but first things first. Seeing a trainee new to her give her a wave and Tori smiled a little and waved back nervously to Stormy. “Yep, Ami is,” she agreed with Stormy but didn’t know what else to say since Tori didn’t want to spout off random facts to Stormy because of her own nervousness.
Spotting the book that Ami was after Tori’s eyes got big as it was a beautiful book and looking around the room too that there were other pretty books. It sorta made her long for her old life and the many books that she had left behind.
Sighing a little as Tori knew that her weapon was right, she did have a new little collection but she knew that she would always long for her lost collection. Tori really wanted to be here longer to look at all the books…The gun shots brought Tori back to the present and quickly went to Ami’s side.
Listening closely to what Ami was telling her and yes Tori did in fact squeed softly with delight on what they were going to do back on the island as Tori would do anything for Ami. A second soft squeed was sounded after Ami had told her to see if there were other books worth taking. “Yep I can do that for ya Ami,” she said and carefully went over to the indicated bookshelf.
Carefully studying the books that were out of order and it didn’t take Tori too long to figure what book when wear and not really listening to anything else unless Ami order her to stop. Finally Tori had put all the books back in the following order: I, D, J, G, B, A, L, H, F, C, E, K

As you align the books in the right order, the ridges of the books glow with a bright golden color. The color soon spreads to the rest of the books, then disappears in a flash. The entire bookcase seems to shrivel inwards, getting further away from you. No, no- it's moving backwards!
With a load groan of the hinges, the entire bookshelf rotates inwards, revealing a secret compartment in the wall of the library. Inside, all you can find is an oddly empty room with a single table. On the table is a set of bandages, and a set of smiley face stickers. Better share them with the group!

Tori has found a set of runic bandages! At any time, a player can heal themselves for 1d20 of damage. You only get 2 bandages each, so use them wisely!
You can use them on each other!
Tori also found stickers she can use however she chooses.

Ohhh, it was one interesting little lock alright . . . Trying her best to ignore the bullets flying their way, she began to fiddle with the lock, a curious look on her face. Her first lock ever! Heck, her first "not-immediately-dying" mission ever!
The trainee worked at it, screwing her face this way and that until eventually she scooted back and admired her work. "Done! I think," she announced to Ami, saluting again whilst kneeled.
( Stormy finished hopefully at least it looked okay idk sudokuuuuuuuu )

After painstakingly plugging in all of those numbers, the locks light up in a bright blue color. All numbers disappear, and a click can be heard.
The screens now read "DISENGAGED."
You actually get a, "That's great," and an apathetic nod of Ami's head. Wow. Impressive.

The beep and click made him nervous, but Deryk soon let out a sigh as it was just the device unlocking. Nervously, he turned towards Ami and nodded.
"R-right," he said before standing up. He gave a quick look around, then went to wander a bit.

A moment of silence passed, during which Evan anticipated another shot. When none was forthcoming, he cautiously moved in the direction the bullets had come from, Gir still summoned and ready for action. There wasn't anything that he could see to indicate where the shooter had gone. He kept an eye on the other alcoves as well, just in case.

Pasha followed after Stormy to figure out the codes, still marveling at the strange place Ami had dragged them all to. Her conversational squeaks drifted off into silence once she was set to a particular task, and her fingers stretched out in mild wonder, her mind shutting off the sounds of others working in the background, even when things seemed to be getting a little too adventurous back there.
Do you need help, or are you just warming up? Tao rumbled when the girl simply stared at the lock. Pasha huffed and shook him away with a mildly indignant lifting of her chin.
I'm not entirely useless, you know.
The fenghuang chuckled. No. Not at all.

All three locks read "DISENGAGE" in bold black font. With a soft click the case window snaps open. The air is filled with tension as everyone sits in silence, waiting for something to go wrong. A bomb perhaps, or a trap that Jake missed. Maybe the mysterious agent will return? An insanity dragon comes stomping through the library?
Nothing. A sigh of relief alleviates tension in the air. Ami reaches for the hugecodex that is far too large for her to carry. Though it is, in essence, a book, it thrums with a light power. It's pages seem almost endless and it practically radiates with knowledge. She flicks through a few pages, looking quizzically annoyed, then finds something she likes and smiles for a moment. You catch a mumble of "Demons," and "Where are the-"
...
Suddenly she remembers the rest of you are in the room, and the smile disappears. "Evan seeing as you are so large it's comedic you are responsible for protecting the group and it's goal. So I give you the task of carrying the artifact." Did she just turn him into a pack mule? She just turned him into a pack mule. Too bad he didn't get a choice, as the book gets heaved into his arms without a word of protest. She gives the poor SUN hunter a sharp look that says if there is so much as a scratch, I will kill you.
Suddenly a squabble is heard from a few hallways down. One is yelling to the other about how he SWEARS HE HEARD GUNSHOTS just a moment ago, while the other says that there's no way that's possible Jim. "Let's move!" With quick nod, Ami heads towards the exit, leaving you to follow behind her. After a few hallways and some staircases, you're in the last room before the exit. It's time to escape!
She gestures to the whole of the group. "You all go first. I'll hold them off if they make it this far." After a short pause she says, "Well? What are you waiting for? GO!"
OOC: THIRD STAGE
gaia_star It's a race to the finish! The entrance to the library is relatively open, only a statue and a bookshelf truly obstruct your view of the exit. What would normally be a bustling center of activity is eerily empty and quiet during the night.
gaia_star Each character starts in the appropriated box. Each "Round" you can move up to two squares. To do so, post in ooc bold red which square you are moving to.
IE, I am Deryk, I move to square B4. (or something of the like)
gaia_starWHOEVER HAS THE CODEX can only move one square at a time, due to its massive weight! The codex CAN be given to other players*. If you drop it, you feel Ami's impending doom breathing down the back of your neck.
gaia_star You can move vertical, horizontal or an "L" Shape (such as B4 to A3). You cannot move diagonal.
gaia_star You can only move once per round! One round = 12 hours or just after everyone's posted their movement. At the end of each round there will be an OOC response to where you moved. If you miss a round, it will be assumed your chara is simply in the same spot (no extra damage will be calculated if you're inactive, don't worry!)
gaia_star More than one player can be on a square at a time.
gaia_star You cannot stand on the squares with the bookshelf or the statue, though positioning yourself in certain spots might be advantageous ...
gaia_star You begin on square A-E "x." These are null squares. Any number of people can be on them, but they don't do anything.
gaia_crown If you get to the exit, quote me please!
* Passing the codex:
- It can only be passed to people in adjacent squares (diagonal is okay!) - It can be passed before OR after they take their move (IE: both of these situations work; bob moves 2 squares, billy passes, turn ended OR billy passes, bob moves 1 square, turn ended)

When Jake woke up, he realized two things: 1. Sleeping in wet clothes was REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE 2. They finally popped the locks and got the Codex.
He... supposed the latter was more important, and eyed it curiously, wondering what kind of information it contained, but when he heard voices, he froze, head snapping towards the direction of the sound.
The idea of having their "illustrious leader" taking the hits made him frown, but if they were all caught... Well, Ami didn't have to tell him twice.

The ground opens up beneath you, revealing a pit of snakes! Why is it always snakes?-10 hp The walls are too high for you to climb out by yourself. Another hunter will need to come rescue you. Once they are in the same square as you, have them roll a d4. If even, they successfully pull you out. If odd, their hand JUST misses yours, and they'll have to try again.
* Rolling for d4 does not take up a turn. So getting to square c4 and rolling d4 can be done in the same turn!

Even something as small as a few words was enough to make the trainee perk, and she smiled a little to herself in pride because sempai noticed her for like two seconds.
"Thank you for being brave, mister," she said to Evan with a wave of fingers before trotting over to Pasha and giving her a light pat on the shoulder. "You too. But without the mister part. Well unless you want to be a mister someday or feel like a mister right now, then I'll call you mister too~" she added airily before striding into the room.
Ohhhh, Stormy would have loved to stay and examine the room more...But hey, they found the thingie book dex! Like a pokedex? Coooool~
Well up until they heard guards shouting. Then it didn't turn cool.
Then Jake fell into about and she heard hissing and it was decidedly super uncool.
"Aaaaah, one sec, Alice," she called to Jake as she moved towards him, casual as you please in tone. As long as no more bullets came along, she'd be okay. Also no snakes please. Or spiders. Wait why did a museum have a snake pit? That was a curious trap...

Tori was intrigued to see the books start to glow but also sad to see the books disappear as she still wanted to take back a new book for herself for research or something like that, yes that is what she was telling herself. But she carefully watches as the bookshelf moves and gets ready just in case something jumped out.
Tilting her head to the side to see that there was an odd room behind the bookcase as she did find that a little strange and looking at the table was an even stranger sigh to see runic bandages with some stickers. Well she wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth as she pocketed a set of bandages along with the stickers and took the rest to hand out to the others. As one never knew when bandages would come in handy.
Turning back to look at where the codex was when Tori heard the last lock disengage wait to see what would happen, but when nothing happened she gave a little sigh of relief of no traps. Tori smiled in delight as Ami was looking thought the book but kept fairly quiet, but she was totally squealing loudly to her weapon and was just so excited to which she knew he would get pay back for but right now she didn’t care.
Tori was all for leaving now as they had the codex now and less trouble was always a good thing. Quietly following the other to the exit wondering if something was going to pop out in front of them preventing them from leaving with there prize.
Hearing what Ami was telling them to go, Tori was really torn on leaving Ami alone as it was one thing she didn’t want to do, but since Ami had told them to go and it was basically an order she didn’t want to do it but Tori didn’t want to not follow orders so she started for the exit worried even tho she knew that Ami could take care of herself.

First piranhas, and now snakes. Jake was so done with this library. SO done.
The hissing was pissing him off, and he kicked the snakes away, only enraging them more. Thankfully, his FEAR shield took most of the damage, but still. This. SUCKED.
He barely heard Stormy as he plotted on how to murder the guy who set up these stupid-a** traps.
