Shadowy Prophet

The energy caught Allen's attention. Making him look up from his screen to stare at it as it began to fade away. And then his gaze shifted to the bird on Degs head, making his eyes narrow some as he muttered.

"Damed bird. If it's the same one, that thing's stalking me."

Charles laughed. "Maybe it's after your coin thing. Now about that blue orb: I'm not one of these energy-reader types, but is this thing something we should look into?"

Charles shifted his weight, careful not to startle the bird now in his hair. "Which brings me to my next point: You think we should team up on this one? Things are a little too ******** up around here to be flying solo. I mean, look what happened to you, Crim. All you did was take a piece of coin and all hell broke loose."

Dae watched the strange orb for a moment and was tempted to try and get it until it disappeared. The new shiney gone, he once again focused on trying to get these people to give up their shinies. Standing atop Deg's head, he clicked his beak several times and looked around the room, eying everyone with big black eyes that reflected their images.

"Teaming up sounds fantastic- like the old days. But for now..."

"Al," Stryphe said, calmy stepping closer to the bed, "y'wanna summon up your sword and give me a haircut? I'm not one to fuss over crap like this, but the damn thing just s**t on me. I can't walk around like this."

He glared over at the raven after hearing what Al had to say about it.

Allen only had one thing to say, as he turned back to the laptop.

"Nah. You're getting old enough already, without me helping you go bald."

He had the feeling that any insult to Al's skill as a swordsman probably wouldn't help in getting Al to help him, so he began searching the room for some scissors.

"Funny, Al," He said only half begrudgingly as he began to rifle through the various tools and accessories.

Allen's grateful smile earned him a smirk from Flare. It wasn't as though she'd done it out of the kindness of her heart.

She nodded to Stryphe when he addressed her.

"Pleased to meet you as well," she said to Charles. Though she wasn't sure she meant it, considering he'd nearly caused a blast of cold to be unleashed right next to her and his injured friend.

The blue light intrigued her, and she waved a hand through the spot where it had vanished, examining the area around the place for anything...unusual.

"I have my own reasons for helping; Owle may well die as a result of this game, and I'm looking for ways to prevent that. I would gladly travel with you."

Flare was going to have to burn down and ransack an entire city so that her reputation didn't suffer from this. But with Owle's life on the line, she didn't dare take the frivolous risk many of her own games often led her to...

Oh, she'd still probably turn on them if she felt the need. But it wouldn't happen unless they were no longer allies. For now, with gods against her, the demon would need all the strength she could muster on her side.

A voice in his head. God, how he hated telepathy. Allen liked having his mind to himself, thank you very much, and didn't much like people invading it. Still, he felt he should give Jacknife a reply back. As the mercenary had decided to find him again.

'I'll be heading to Barton myself soon, most likely. So I'll take care of that one. If you can find the location of any more of those petal pieces, go after those instead, and then we can meet up later.'

And, to continue the sudden influx of interesting things, he saw a report flash up onto his screen. A three story tall flower bud. Another thing in Barton of interest. And so, with those in mind, he decided that it'd probably be safe to have his wings back in. They didn't have time to waste anyways.

And so, standing slowly, his wings shimmered and dissapeared. The pain was still there, but they wouldnt be in the way, and the wounds couldn't reopen.

"Another of those balls of light went to Barton, and there's a giant flower bud that appeared in the guild center. So we should check those out. Depending on where Owle is, maybe we can talk with her about her coin piece too."

"Owle's in Barton, but she's occupied. Rage and opaj have engaged two...mecha, it would appear," Flare answered. "Perhaps we can aid them once we seek out this giant flower."

"Right then," said the Chauffeur, looking out the "window" and seeing a motorcycle. "Well, you people and your wings, either someone's going to have to carry me or I'm going to have to hotwire that bike. There's no way I'll be able to manuever the streets in my Viper and keep up with you flyers."

Then another report caught Allen's eye, making his eyes narrow some in annoyance. Damn. Now what were they gonna do?

"The ferry just crashed into the boardwalk. Seems like we need a different way off this island."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:09 pm

"I can make it there without the ferry...but I doubt I could do so while burdened with one of you," Flare said. "I can go ahead, and see what there is to see, while you find another way. I suggest looking to the docks, seeing if anyone has a boat you can borrow."

She moved to the window, ready to launch herself out of it...which would leave the three guys to be seen coming out of this dubious place together.

Suddenly, the blue light materlized once again. Only instead of any magical sound there was a click, as if a lock came open.
Quickly zooming towards Allen, the light changed into cloud of blue sparling dust.

When it all subsided Allen would find himself wearing a mercant's turban... Headgear he would find himself incapable of removing.

((Sorry to speed post, but I must...))

"Nice hat," Flare commented.

Owle, don't be surprised if you find yourself wearing a priest's hat really soon. And if you do, let me know.

"What the?" Charles said as he saw the turban come out of nowhere. Several jokes involving the Kwik-k-Mart came to mind.

Shaking it off, as there were more important matters, Charles said, "Just get me to the docks. A~E should have a boat docked. If not, well, a bike isn't too different from a boat, if you know what I'm saying."

Charles started for the door. "Shall we, gentlemen?"
