He noticed that look, and considering how Rin was pressing this issue more and more, stating things like their friendship was coming to a head, that he was a liar, among many other notes, it all meant that the friendship might be coming to a close. It wouldn't have been the first. It certainly wouldn't be the blast.
He just held the collar of his shirt. "Is something so stupid that important for you to see?"

"Yes," Rin's answer was simple but... she meant it. It was important. Important enough to base an entire wardrobe around, important enough to guard this vehemently... important enough to throw the fit he had.

He breathed out, thinking about it. She just wanted to look. That was it. "Just look." He said, to be sure she would go and start touching or moving too close. There wasn't much left he could do, and if she was animate about seeing it, he doubted she would drop it while in his company until he showed it.
He didn't take off his shirt, but just tugged the collar down as far as it would go, to show off the corners of the looping, twisting scar that curled around the side of his neck.

He continued to hold his collar back, not looking at her but across the room. His heart was beating a mile a minute. "Are you done?"

Once Rin got a good look she nodded and remarked, "Uh huh." She looked even more relieved. "You are lucky to be alive, that looks like it hurt."

"I was more concerned about my legs than my neck, and I was drugged a bit....after the centipede showed up." He tucked his collar back in place, but still wasn't looking at her. His other hand had been gripping the broom handle tightly ever since the scar had been brought up.
"We should get back to cleaning."
