Well, DC Talk is one of my all time favorite bands. My number one favorite is DeGarmo and Key. And THIS is my favorite song..(if you haven't heard it already, I know you'll love it!) Not to mention, the pictures used are powerful!
Hahah! xd
Yes! DC Talk is great! They inspired so many other bands too! DeGarmo and Key? I'm might just have heard of them before. This song is great! It reminds me of the first Christian music I ever listened to! Like 4Him and Michael W. Smith! I really do love this song too! whee
Yeah, I grew up on the original greats. I'm out of the loop these days. Just can't keep up with it all. To many people! x.x This song was sung by DeGarmo and Key, and the reason why I fell in love with their music. I tend to love 80's sounding music. lol

Hey! How are our writers doing? Are we ready to start discussing more or would like me to make another thread for our actual works first?
If it will be better fro everyone we could just share our private writings for the time being.
Just wanted to make sure I am not being a bad discussion thread host!

I'm sorry! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by both posts. Do you mean another theme centered story like the fiber bag one as well as the collaboration?
I'm afraid our collaboration might take some more work. If Write Ivre, wants than we can run with her idea. We just have discuss a little more information and have her write the first post. I suppose it would be the same way with anyone's idea.
I haven't worked on my fiber bag story yet! sweatdrop I have so many things backed up!

1.
(setting) Based on Japan and the four occupations culture. Gunpowder exists, but has never been used in warfare. Innovation in warfare is considered dishonorable, though now it is necessary to drive back a conquering army.
A group who claims to be gods is unknown to the peasants, even those who have no choice but to surrender to them. All they know of are their commanders who swiftly take over towns and villages, having conquered cities within weeks of appearing. Those on top use mental discipline and torture to form obedient armies who lack empathy and their commanders cannot help but worship them.
2.
(characters) A half-elfbarbarian inspired by both Native American and historically accurate 'old west', a half-breed of a peaceful mixing of both groups. Has very odd ideas of ettiquette and propriety, including the lack of land ownership (the natives are migratory).
A human lawyer who used to be a doctor and retains a lot of medical knowledge. He has embraced the darkness and uses magic of darkness worshippers, but has embraced it as a force for good. Having lost a leg to corrupt officials of the government, he spends his time lurking and traveling through shadows, causing those who abuse power to 'disappear'.
A water elemental merfolk, or other 'mer-person' who shows a powerful affinity with water, yet has strayed far from her homeland in hopes of finding or forging a place where the laws are not so harsh and cruel to women, who are wives, mothers, and meant to stay in the house they run.
A young short humanoid creature with black iris pupils and colorful hair. Skilled with holy abilities to heal the weak, sick, and innocent and attack evil magic, as well as the bow. She uses stealth and concealment, as well as war tactics, to help others. Strongly honor-bound, she seeks not only to promote peace and happiness, but also to aid in the balance of nature and civilization. She radiates light when she uses her magic, and her eyes glow like fiery opals.
Take what you like of these and play around with 'em. You don't need to combine anything or keep everything. I'd like to see what people can get from these.
Is this two story starts to choose from, or two pieces to use for one story?

Ack! I'm bogged down with art I need to finish super soon (plus the heat wave is driving me away from my computer).
I'm mostly just worldbuilding and wondering if I can apply it to this or should ask here while making it a separate project.

Hahaha, sorry for the late response! It's completely fine, I think we have all been a bit busy recently. Sometimes starting groups like these is a really difficult task but we will get there eventually!
I'll bet! Hopefully your workload and weather change soon!
On the subject of your world building, you can do whatever you like! If you think that you have an idea that others may enjoy writing about then feel free to share.
I still think getting the collaborative work together will be great! Especially since it doesn't take a lot of writing to accomplish and it's not as intensive of interactive as roleplaying.
I'm starting to think that if we get a fairly simple plot and character set up quickly, then we can develop the rest as the story progresses.
jellkans
What do you think of that Jelly?
Should we just put forth a couple of ideas each and then select the ones we all like so we can get everything rolling?

I've got the world (technically two) set up with bare bones of plot to each. Deviating from them is fine, I'm not married to them. I'll post the world tomorrow (where do I do that?) or so and I'll start writing ASAP. I'm hoping at least one person will jump on board, at least with a suggestion.

Well, if you intend on sharing it with us, just post it in the library sub-forum under the title "Writer's Club Collaboration: World Info and discussion"
Excellent! Then we shall soon begin some character discussion and get the fine details hammered out!

I'm gonna wait for this or see if there are questions to answer before starting (I also got some other things to finish this week).
If nothing huge comes up, I'll post a (very) basic plot.
