Suddenly there was shadow gojira present and the clans were fighting then.
The dinky little flyswatter looked like a pin in comparison, and was tossed aside in favor of a bow and quiver of glowing arrows, notching one at the ready.

This wasn't going to work. She could feel herself weakening, and the heartless were beginning to cross over her terrible defense. Everything was becoming a bit of a mess.
Tseng needed better hits. He was skilled, but not as skilled as he could be. She began focusing her FEAR on the boil, but the concentration was completely lost when a new figure entered her vision scope.
There was a moment of clarity though. Her brother somehow snuck in silently beside them, and Ying was overjoyed. She squealed and resisted the urge to hug him (as this WAS the middle of a battlefield. It would've been awkward). "Brother I thought you were missing or- or that you had left us!"

Right into Tseng's butt. 'Sorry!" the bow was not in the prime condition that he had hoped, and it was a bad showing.

Ying's expression fell completely flat, a sort of disappointment that was rarely seen if she wasn't with her twin. "And here I thought you had done something useful. If you are never awake, you never live brother!"
Unfortunately for her she could neither fight the heartless back nor let them into her defenses. They were just sort of awkwardly held at bay.
"Mr. Tseng, are you okay?" More quietly, she added, "A-And you Siska?"
Things were not looking so good. The monster was inflicting a lot of damage on their troops, and there were hardly any skilled attackers in their group. Silently she looked up to the sky and clasped her hands together. Oh pretty please Medea, call on your goddess or Jack or someone to help us! Please!!

It wasn't so much a smile that answered Thrain's attempt at humor. More a smirk, clearly more amused by him, then what he'd said. "Oh, I'm sure there are those that could find reason to complain." A quick glance raked over those of conquest, but she said nothing more.
Instead she turned her attention to the creature that threatened their lair. Not the fat bodied thing it had been, but now more menacing in appearance. Those claws looked quite wicked. She offered the guardian a nod, lips twitching in a smile, then joined the others in their struggles against beast. Not that she could do much. She was still injured, and it made her slow.
Her blade came down at an arc, aiming for whatever bit of the creature she could reach, but a claw was there to fend her off. The shadow struck her, claws tearing at her side and sending her to crash against the stone floor. For a moment it seemed the mare was finished, for she certainly wasn't moving. The minutes stretched, then suddenly she gasped, only to cringe and shrink around herself. A dark hand coming to rest along her left side and deep slashes that now painted black skin red with blood.
That had hurt.

Shaheen had fallen back for a time, her previous attacks failures finally getting to her, making her take pause to deal with issues that only she could truly understand. It might have come at a terrible time and place, but the insanity cared little for those things, and did it's best to make her feel as pathetic and useless as possible, and to distrust those who she would call her friends.
It was for that reason that she took a break, separating herself away from the group, and even shaking her head at Thrain for his offer of protection, her lips pressed in a firm line and her eyes haunted. There was little she could do except ride the wave of voices that rose in her mind and the emotional turmoil that refused to settle within her. It wasn't as though anybody would miss her, really. At this point she was next to useless in the fight anyways.
But eventually, whatever power had gripped her so tightly before began to ease away. She began to feel better, ready to enter this fight once more and contribute her power and strength towards the cause. They were going to take this new beast with it's terrible claws and gaping mouth down. They were going to save what little home they had left.
Shaheen rushed forward in a flurry of feathers and a slashing blade, leaping into the air as she got close, forcing her Fear into her dagger one more time, determined that this time it would not be a vain attempt.

Her dagger connected, and this time it just felt right like the Fear was doing it's part along with the blade to not just open up a small wound on it's victim, but instead tore into it one that was large and gaping, and she drew her dagger downwards, her wings beating furiously and her teeth clenched tight, before large black claws forced her away and back to the earth.
Blood oozed from a long slice across her belly, but she ignored it easily, having received much worse in the past. Making her way closer to Thrain and Nergui, she looked the darker skinned woman over with an appraising glance.
"You do not look well." She stated the obvious, and tilted her head to the side as though considering something.

She then stepped out in front of both the priestess and the guardian, her wings spreading and lifting behind her, and her dagger held at the ready.
"Go. I will fend off any attacks that near the two of you. Do not disappoint me " That last was directed specifically towards Thrain, though she tempered the words with a smirk to show that she wasn't being completely serious.

"Thank you, Shaheen." The dark mare smiled, strained, and a low chuckle fell from her lips at the observation. She was sure she looked a mess, though she wasn't the only one.
Though even when Shaheen offered protection so she and the guardian could attack, Nergui still couldn't make blade connect with that shadow flesh.
When she'd first arrived at the liar she'd been a brutal in her assult. Now? She was far more hurt then she realized for her to have been failing quite that badly. But she was a stubborn creature, so she kept trying. Despite the wounds, despite the danger.

Ying felt it. She felt power. Not just any power, but a rejuvenating power- one that swept through her bones and called her to be something greater.
"We ... We can do this!" she said, quietly at first, then gaining volume. "It's just one shadowling!" No, there story was not done. They still had writing to do.
And Ying would pick up the pen, dammit!
