Barth had been waiting for them behind a rock and not guarding the bottom of the mountain at all.
He waited a while, then chanced another look.Quote: The altar itself is on top of an extremely, extremely high mountain that needs to be scaled. - Roll 2 20-sided dice for each player's Stamina - If a character runs out of stamina or HP, they must try again from Round 1! Quote: [ Round 1: ] - All players must roll a 6 sided dice. If any player rolls a 1 or 6, you have triggered a boss! The DM will be in charge of rping and keeping track of the boss's HP. The boss has 50/ 50 HP and does 5 auto damage every time it is attacked. You can attack it unlimited times within discretion. Attacks go as normal. The boss is shadow shaped, a remnant of the old world, noone can go any further until the boss is defeated. IF NOONE rolls a 1 or 6, or you have defeated the boss, you may proceed to round 2. "Hey, Zar. Calm down. There's no need to get huffy." Calder nuzzled Barth a moment. The nap had done wonders for the kelpie and he was back to being perky and optimistic. Even the mountain didn't bother him as much.
Flicking his tail, he patted Barth on the head, felt up a horn, and then trotted over to Zar. It wouldn't help their friendship if Zar got upset over a little comment. "Are you okay?"

Zar snorted again, he didn't let go of grievances as easily and was still decidedly offended.
"I'll "guard the bottom of the mountain." he said. "You two have fun."

An incubus. ...Barth had known that bit, of course, but he thought he actually fed off of paperwork.
It seemed familial pressures were more responsible for that.
Of course, Christof had some...pressures of his own, regarding his occupation. Barth didn't hold that against anyone. The virtues of steady work were, he felt, overrated.

He then frowned. "He does have two sets of horns. Do demons like extra horns?" He asked Barth.
