Mjoll was wondering around when she suddenly tripped over the floor. oh for pride's sake she thought to herself. She felt the floor trying to see why she tripped and realized.... it had grooves.

Huh I wonder what these are for..... she'd never really noticed a floor with this sort of groove. Even cobblestone paths didn't have this sort of a groove....

Sighing Mitsu turned back toward where she thought the room was so that she could try again. She wasn't sure where the table had been but perhaps that would be a good starting point. Her fingers reached for where she thought it had been but instead of the table she found something different. It was cool to the touch definitely metal and heavy at that. She could feel eyes on her as her hands continued to decipher what she had found. The piece she held onto was long but not very wide but it had a piece that connected it to something else below. Her hands searched down and found a flat padded shelf. No....a seat. This was a chair. Though as her hands continued to roam she thought better of that conclusion. It was far to massive and towering to be a simple chair. A throne.

As her hands continued to search she realized the throne was empty. Was this just another dead end? Was the voice somewhere else? Hoping to find a clue elsewhere her fingers trailed along the throne until she found a message carved into it.

Call my true name?

True name? Could she be so hopeful that it would be a simple name like Steve or Ted? Maybe Mary. Mitsu thought long and hard but she really couldn't think of an answer. Going back to the clues she had she thought over the story she had been given by the pillars. The great king had passed away and it was something searching for another king to take his place, his throne, and his power. It was....likely something that belonged to the king. Perhaps this thrown or maybe a weapon? Or was it even just his pride alone? Thriving and seeking to go on.

As she continued to think Mitsu searched for something to write with, finding the table again and the crumpled paper. She couldn't find a pen or pencil of any kind but she took the paper and brought her hand to her mouth and bit into her finger. The pain made her flinch and she could taste the blood intruding her mouth but carefully she brought her finger to the paper and waited. What was her answer?

In the end she carefully wrote out her answer in her own blood, hoping whoever it was would see.

Liar

She knew this part of the floor now, and by the time her foot hit the ridge she stopped and grumbled.

Returning home was as sweet as anticipated. She might not have daddy in tow, but she did have goods to trade.
She returned to her quarters, covered now in silver-leafed vines. It was beautiful.
"Mom! Mom!" she called out.
oooo! She probably had enough to expand the greenhouse! she woudl trade for glass and for labor and... Ooo, she was so excited!
"Mom?"
No reply.

She didn't want to remember that.

a sense niggled at her. There was something else. In this room... why was she so sure?

The throne, again. Ugh.
THERE WAS STILL SOMETHING. WHERE WAS IT WHERE WAS IT WHERE WAS

...she?
She searched the house.
"Mom?"
Nothing, still. Everything was neat and orderly. Everything closed up.
everything was in place.
But where was mom?
Maybe she was outside?
Acerium left her things in her room and began to search their floor of the tower for her mother...

She choked back tears as she continued to search.
Bad memory. Bad. And there was a piece missing from the story, a piece of memory she just... couldn't... find.

THUD.

GAAAH!!!

Again, Rei has found something. This time, he was using his shin. After a bit of holding in the screams of pain, he again examined the object...What was that- grumbled him inwards while cursing.

The Throne??? Again??? Noticed him after brief examination of said object. He started to think that The Voice wouldn't permit his leave from said object before he at least guess...

But screw that. After confirming that he stood directly on the center of the Throne, he dashed forward with a crouching start.

Her fingertips found something solid - a table, she realized, as she traced her hands upwards. She used it to push herself upwards, fingers spidering across the surface, over smoothness and then paper that crinkled a bit underneath. And binding. A book...

She had no hope of reading it, but she remembered the list of objects the chalice - the not-Voice - had mentioned. A book had been one of them, had it not?

"I'm sorry, Ace..." her friend started...
"Is mom allright?" Acerium remembered feeling unsure. Concerned. Not worried. Why would she be worried?
"Shes... She..."
"did something happen?" Again, acerium remembered feeling naive. Innocent of anything that could possibly go wrong.
"I'm sorry ace, there was... an accident." The friend took Acerium's hands in hers, "She... dissipated. She's gone, ace."
"oh..." and then it hit her. "Oh no..."

That day, Acerium drank three cups of tea and sat alone in her garden, as lost and confused as she was now...

The sad memory was broken by the touch of SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Something NEW.

YES.
She had known there was something more in this stupid room!
She felt it.
A table... Why did that make her head feel like it was full of chimes?
And... a book. She felt the pages. A memory began to play and she sat down at the table, idly flipping the book.

The scribe had one, and he was writing in it. A spiky-haired altmer with a stuffed animal that looked eerily alive, and a pen that sometimes wrote on its own.
"Excuse me..." she asked them, "You handle Silvers, right? the person over there said so..."

"Yes, I arrange conversions..." he flipped a page, "The next appointment with the king is at half past the third of noon in four days. Shall I pencil you in?"
"Oh, uh, no..." Acerium said waving her hands in refusal, "I don't want to convert, I just want to find a specific name..." the memory staticed. She couldn't remember her father's name. "Has he converted?"
The scribe gave her a cooly feline look. "I'm sorry madame, but we don't give out PERSONAL information like that."
"Oh..." Acerium bit her lip. She had to know! "Watch out!" she shouted suddenly. Distracted, she threw a nut to the floor- a deku nut. The flash of light blinded the scribe and she dove for the book.
She flipped through it's green and silver inked pages desperately, searching for __#$%$%@$... the name.
He wasn't there. He wasn't there. Not on this page either.
"HEY." shouted the scribe, rubbing the blindness out of his eyes and grabbing at the book... and at acerium.
OOPS. the deku seed had worn off! she tossed the book at him and ran for it.
"Get that girl" he shouted to some guards, attracted by the blinding light.
She kept running. As she passed an alley, a furred hand grabbed her and pulled her in.
"Shhh..." said the cat person- a khajiit-, pulling her into the shadows until the commotion of the guards passed them by. "I hear you're looking for @#$$#___. Why?"
"He's my father." Acerium gently pushed the khajiit away, "I'm looking for him here."
The khajiit laughed, a growling sort of purr-laugh.
"Well! It looks like him, smells like him, sounds like him, and acts like him." he said, almost to himself, "I know your father. I know where he is."
"Really? You do? Will you tell me where?"
"Oh better yet." the khajiit smiled a feline smile, "I can take you to him"

Back to the table and the book.
Something kept bringing her back to it...
She sat on the table and thought about it.
pride. True name. Speak. Table. Book.

Oh! And fountains, stairways, grooves...

She couldn't actually speak and she couldn't see.
So what could she do?
Why was she trying to solve the riddle?

Because it might help the gold emperor. That was why.
