A sigh left her lips but her sister was correct. They needed to rest....and she needed some food. "Very well then Sister. Though I will insist you allow myself and some of the other guards to take turns keeping an eye out while the others sleep." she said sternly, mostly glancing at Faroth. She didn't exactly trust this new land yet and for all she knew, this strange grey pony could be leading them right into a trap. As soon as she could, she would speak with Shining Armor.
Lightning Dust slowed to a halt near Rainbow Dash, flinging away some of the branches flung loose by their ascent. At the rainbow pegasus ponies words, she craned her eyes into the distance. "Woah, is that where we are staying? That giant tree?" she said, squinting, leaning slightly forward in the air as if getting that much closer would help. "Should hope they have a Cloud city....oh yeah except we can't sit on clouds here.... at least I can't." she said a bit angrily, crossing her arms.

Thunderlane had just rounded around the back of the herd when his wings began to cramp. Realizing that they, and by they he meant HE, hadn't had anything to eat since earlier in the day, he realized he would prolly have to hunt something. which didn't bode well in his mind.
Raising his wings up and down, he began the slow and arduous journey to catch up with the other ponys.
He had barely taken a few steps when a he heard a thud followed by the scampering of many tiny feet. Bracing himself for the ensuing fight, he nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the tiny animals running for it. Wondering why so many had been cooped up, he hurried forward to make sure that nothing had snuck up on the herd while they were trailing away.
Coming to what he thought was the location of the "swarm" of the animals, he ducked behind some bushes and randomly jumped out to scream "AAAAAHHAHAHYEHAHA!!!!!""
After which he simply stared stupidly at the poor little pink and yellow pony laying on the ground before him.

Rainbow Dash shrugged her shoulders, not knowing where they were headed too. "I don't know, its pretty cool I guess. Its no cloud city though." Rainbow Dash was still squinting her eyes at the place she had hoped was a cloud city. "What?! We can't sit on clouds?! My bed..." Rainbow Dash sighed, dreaming of her white, fluffy, cloud bed back at home. She hadn't tried to sit on a cloud yet, just assuming that everything would be the same, she had kind of gotten off to a slow start that morning, and had been lazy. "Awww, are you sure? Maybe it was just a bad cloud." Rainbow Dash had to hope. All that time sleeping on the rocking boat, she couldn't wait to snuggle up to a cloud bed again.

Gypsy sighed a little, upset at the fact that she wouldn't be able to have her cupcake but she understood "alright, thank you" she said to the guide as she looked around and decided to go and have a little explore of the place but stopped and asked the guide first if it would be alright "excuse me, would I be able to explore this place a little? Back home I was a traveling pony, I never settled in one spot for too long but I did love this because I got to see new sights and sounds. I was just curious, would I be able to explore this place a little? If I am going to be living here now I would at least like to try and get a feel of the place and see what I have to look out for and what not.
Lotus stayed close to her sister, not wanting to leave her side, the guard would probably be Shining Armor and so the captain of the Guard would be a fine enough guard but still she did worry a little, new land and all and they will be sleeping in a forest, not exactly the safest place to be sleeping but if their guide thought it would be safe enough for them then surely they would be safe if they just had Shining Armor to take care of standing guard.

Lightning Dust glanced at Rainbow Dash and half smirked, half snorted. She felt the exact same way but was surprised the pegasus pony hadn't tried to land on a cloud yet. "Yeah its totally lame. I can move the around but I can't sit on them. Fell right through." she added, though the last part was soft so only Rainbow could hear.... as if there was anyone else int he sky with them? Still, couldn't have others thinking she was some sissy pony. "Righted myself in time of course, thanks to Wonderbolt Academy." she said, trying to look cool. "All I see are trees, trees, and more trees. Do you think its even possible Spitfire will start up another academy?" she said, glancing at Rainbow Dash with a mixture of hope, worry and a tinny bit of annoyance at their current situation.

Namaqua immediately steps in front of Selah. He knew it'd only be a matter of time before people started in with the "half-breed" nonsense. "She isn't a funny-looking anything!" he says defensively."Papa!" exclaims Selah, rolling her eyes. "She didn't mean anything by it. Right?" she asks the strange Pae in front of her. She had wild blue hair and bright white skin...not ideal for camouflage. She smiles a little. "I'm Selah," she repeats, nodding to both the Pae in front of her. "This is my papa," she says, introducing Namaqua with a hand-waving gesture.
"I like your hat," she says to the blue Pae with the big hat.[Sorry it took me so long! D: ]

"She has leaves for wings, the ponies we know of all have feather wings. It's the only thing that makes her 'funny looking'." Trixie made air quotes to go with her comment as if it was something that was completely well known and she sounded a little bored with it. "Granted they're very interesting. The Great and Powerful Trixie would like to learn more about these wings."
"I'm The Great and Powerful Trixie, the most powerful unicorn in all of Equestria." There was a pause. "Well.... Trixie was." She mumbled ears falling a bit as she said this. "Nice to meet you both."
However, all was forgotten when the little Pae mentioned her hat. "Do you? Trixie likes it too, it's quite fetching don't you think. And what do you think of Trixie's cape? Does it make her look like the Greatest Pony you've ever seen?" Trixie smiled at Vinyl as well, hoping for a response from the former DJ.

"Well, she's got leaves 'stead of feathers, so I'd call that 'not normal' for a Pegasus," Vinyl chuckled, not unkindly. They'd seen a few strange things since they'd arrived on this Isle, but she found each one new and entertaining. Then she glanced down at the hovering female and frowned again. "And no hooves either. Hmm..."
Her thoughts were interrupted by Trixie's compliment fishing, and Vinyl grinned in response. Oh yes, it was a good idea coming back here. So much more entertaining. "Oh yeah! Totally cool hat," she agreed before looking back at the new arrivals.
"So uh...if you're not a Pegasus...and you're definitely not a Griffin, then what are you?" Okay, so she could be a bit blunt, but...she was just intrigued.

Faroth glanced uneasily between the leaders of the group, only relaxing when it seemed that they might be willing to follow his advice and camp here for the night. "Good, now, if that's settled, I'll leave you to make the arrangements with your people. Once the foragers have been selected, I'll be happy to go with them to round up some dinner for everyone." Unsure of what their protocol might be for these things, he hoped that general politeness would do and bowed before backing away.
First things first, he called Raina over who brought Ranuin with her. The trio marched down to the edge of the lake, much to Ranuin's displeasure, for a quick bath. As soon as his father loosed him again, the faun 'pup' raced for the shoreline, pausing only to shake water from his fur before running off to find his new friend, Pinkie, again for more games. Chuckling, Faroth finished rinsing the dust and dirt from his own hair and fur before emerging and trusting Raina to keep a watch over his son. Afterwards, he joined the group that had gathered, ready to venture into the forest for food. Leaving the rest to set up camp and settle in, Faroth set out with the 'hunting party.'

Luna eyed Faroth as he went before turning back to her sister."If we are going to camp, I still insist we have guards while the others sleep." Now that they would be camping and night approaching, she was starting to feel a little bit more 'at home', if that was even possible just yet. "Please, sister allow me to take momentary charge during the night.... " she asked, since night time was her area and being able to at least decide how and who should take turns standing guard would ease some tensions she has. "You need your rest, the ponies look up to you more during the day when they are awake....." she said, doing her best to hide a bit of resent and sadness. She could only hope this strange land hand some sort of nocturnal creatures....
Cadence smiled, also glad to have a chance to rest and eat. "I can help forage for fruit to eat, perhaps stretch my wings a bit. Everypony else needs to be able to settle down and rest." she nodded, glancing over to Shining Armor to see if he would help her or perhaps be asked to put his best men on guard.
Rarity's ears pricked. They would finally be able to settle down and rest! Its about time! "I really could use a nice clean place to sit.... my hooves are killing me!" She pushed her way forward towards the others that were gathering, now spotting Faroth vanish with the others who no doubt went in search of food. He didn't look half bad now that he was clean. "Perhaps these new... Faun.... wont be so bad after all." she mused to her self with a smile, daydreaming about sewing them all kinds of clothes.

Celestia looked to Luna, nodding. The night was her rule, it was only fit that she should be allowed to have her stay during it. "I think it right that you lead as you feel fit for the night. I can help attend to those restless in their tents and perhaps set them at ease." She paused, looking to where Faroth had vanished before quietly finishing her thought, "Remember that you and the guards need rest as well," her voice trailing up as she turned to face her people. Closing her eyes, she calmed her nerves, breathing in and out deeply before she reopened them.
Addressing everyone, her voice raised to be heard throughout the group. "We have yet long to travel before we arrive at the great tree. Tonight, a messenger from they we will meet has offered to show us to a grounds for rest and nourishment. We...," she motioned to herself, Luna, and Cadence, "...feel it best to take him on this offer. Soon everyone will be allowed a much-needed rest. Tonight Luna will take charge of safety and anything else she feels is of concern, Cadence will be joining those who wish to search for fruit, and I shall remain among the rest if any of you are in need of comfort or support." Again she paused, taking a soft smile and tilting her head.
"Shall we be off?"

Antidia Gulliver didn't think to question how Rais' Second wouldn't know of the lost acorns, but figured maybe he just spaced it out with the current situation. In either case, he just casually reminded the Adviser. "Several Acorns were lost last summer during the hurricane. It came so fast, they couldn't get all of them inside in time, so some were lost to the wings. Only a few were recovered." After saying it, he figured Mo was likely involved in the recovery efforts on the tree instead. He'd been tasked with looking on the island since he and his men were already out here.
"Do you know where they are? Or are they just heading this way. I can send a scout up ahead for a location." With two fingers, he pointed to the bushes and then up ahead. Within seconds, there was a rustling and a blur darted off ahead of them. "He'll be discreet," he assured Mo.
The situation did not feel right. His gut was twisting with the possibilities. Vanya said to not fear. He reminded himself. No need to get worked up. He kept himself on guard, kept his senses alert. This land he did not fully understand himself -- but was still learning about -- had many secrets yet to reveal so he had to be ready for anything. Mo smacked his forehead. Duh! He was there! He knew some acorns were lost! How could he have forgotten something so simple and important?!
Maybe because his gut was telling him something far bigger than a few handfuls of acorns would be the reason of all this commotion back at the tree. He frowned deep in thought. It could still be possible. Laisidhiel and the Spirits all seemed to work in mysterious ways.
Mo turned off the path as he shook his head. "Sadly, I don't know where they are." If it's even a 'they'... It could even be an IT for all they knew! However, Mo had an idea. He lived in these woods before he was summoned to Laisidhiel and still remembered the layout of the trees and various cliff edges near their location. "I'm just getting a better look. I remember a good place..." he smiled.
Still being fairly young had its perks! Like finding ways to see for yourself just what was going on. Go go curiosity, right? As he walked, he kicked at the ground, remembering an old trick he had learned when living on his own. The ground around here was littered with lower class gems, but they had remarkable range! Upon finding a nice smooth gem, he began picking up various pieces of bark that had fallen off of the nearby trees. Most of the ones he looked at were the long paper-like variety and he smiled brightly as he found the perfect piece.
He turned to Gulliver with a wide grin. "This trick might come in handy for you, brother!" he smirked as he rolled the bark up into a quasi-cone - leaving an opening on both ends - and tested the larger end with the gem, making sure it would set in right. Once that was assured, he moved to one of the trees that was dripping sap down the side and used that to glue together the bark and to set the gem in the larger end without it having the fear of falling out.
Mo neared the edge of a high cliff at this point and turned again to begin scaling a tree. He was out of practice and showed it as he neared the top, but he made it! Lifting the newly made telescope to his eye, he peered out over the island then tilted his head in confusion.
Off in the distance, near the shores of the lake, Mo caught small spurts and glimpses of rainbows and glittering... lightning?! over the canopy. Oh, how he wished he could get a closer look... And besides, with the setting sun, rainbows at this time - no matter how sporadic - shouldn't have been that bright... or maybe they would...? He didn't know.
"Well, there's something you don't see everyday..." he muttered aloud. Probably doing so without realizing it.

"Thank you sister. And do not fret, I will find my rest when need be." she said, smiling softly and nodding to her sister, side stepping a bit as Celestia turned to speak to the rest of the ponies. Luna instead sought out Shining Armor, approaching him with slightly renewed spirits as she cleared her throat before addressing him. "Shining Armor. I want nothing less than your best ponies on guard with me tonight. Even if they have to take shifts, these ponies must remain safe at all costs." she spoke to him, her voice stern and slightly loud and full of pride. She couldn't guard the night all on her own, but she knew he would pick only the best to stand by to help her with this task as she oversaw everything else. "I don't want to see fear on the faces of these sleeping ponies, is that understood?" she added, though she had quickly grown to trust in him more, she still had her insecurities and reasons for wanting to be doubly sure things would run smoothly tonight. Especially tonight.

((*Lots of tags. I apologize!*)) Shining Armor bowed respectfully towards Luna as she approached and began setting the scales for the night's orders. In all honesty, Shining was rather pleased to be honored with such a task.
"You have my word, Princess." he nodded again then turned to survey his selection of individuals.
He frowned slightly. He only knew a small handful of them from Canterlot and an even smaller handful from Ponyville. But from what he did know, he quickly formulated a plan. He moved to the center of the group, leaping on top of the cart Big Mac had been pulling so that everyone could see him.
"Alright, everypony. Listen up!" He paused briefly to ensure that all eyes were on him before continuing. "I need everyone to work swiftly and quietly. We don't know what dangers are out there and I don't want anyone hurt. Our new friend Faroth has agreed to show us places to find food. Big Mac. I'd like you to go with him. I know you have some skill in gathering. You can show the other ponies how to do it efficiently if necessary. And when you get back, help with finishing the shelters then get some rest. We might need you pulling some sleeping ponies in your cart tomorrow morning."Big Mac simply nodded and puffed up his chest proudly. "Eeey-Yup!" he smiled and turned to move and stand beside Faroth until they were ready to depart.Shining nodded then continued. "Prism Strider. Brolly. I'd like for you two to accompany the group going for food. Keep one eye on the rest of us so you can lead them back to the shores safely. Vendimia, Mayor Mare and Twinkle Shine - Go with them as well. Gather as much as you all can, we got plenty of mouths to feed."
Shining looked over the group pleased, but his thoughts remained fixed at the task at hand. He surveyed the rest of his options and nodded to himself.
"Thunderlane. Spitfire. I'll need you two to pull the cart the rest of the way to the shore then I'll need you to help with gathering supplies to build shelters."
He turned his attention to everyone. "I'll need everyone to gather sturdy branches, logs, and large leaves to make shelter for tonight. Any leaves you find, place on the cart so as not to overburden Thunderlane and Spitfire. If something's too big to drag the rest of the way yourself, leave it on the trail and I'll send a gathering party out after it once we've reached the shores of the lake."
Shining looked out over the mass of faces then smiled reassuringly. "If we work together, we'll see this through. Our powers may be weak and our spirits may be low, but we have our strength in numbers and our strength in our bonds as friends. We started this journey together, thankful for what we managed to keep with us. Let's make it to the end of this journey together." he nodded softly and smiled before waving a hand.
"Alright, come on then, everypony!" he chuckled and hopped off the cart. "We don't have much time until sunset!"((*If I did not call your pony's name this post, PLEASE don't get discouraged. Shining will be calling out more orders once they reach the shores.*))

"Got it!" Brolly was well rested by now, so he accompanied the group by air. He figured this would make it easier to pick fruit from trees.
"Understood, Shining Armor." Meanwhile, Mayor Mare joined the group on foot. "Hmmm, which ones are edible? I want to make sure I grab the right things."
