Raian used to live Kyoto, the poor side of Kyoto. Life was hard for him and his family. Raian was the sort of kid that was always alone, other people ignored him, maybe because his family was not traditional or maybe because they were not rich or maybe because they just did not like him, he never actually bothered to find out, he found true company inside of books where he was able to live new lives and have adventures, in his spare time he used to work in a small corner shop to help his family, he would also go to school, one night while he was coming back to his home with his monthly payment, he heard screams come from an alley nearby his position, without knowing what was happening he charged in, in the scene he found a man with a gun to a woman's head asking for her money, Raian would tell the man to stop but then 'BANG' Raian would widen his eyes and put his hands to his chest and feel the warm red liquid, his sight would fade into darkness ans he dropped to the floor.
Raian does not really remember much from when he was alive, maybe he actually forgot or maybe he just wanted to forget it, all he knows is that he was from Kyoto and that he was born there and his father was Brazilian and his mother was a Japanese, that's all he can remember and all he wishes to remember too. Raian has started as low ranked just like all the rest of the Reapers, but as soon as he joined the Academy he never stopped searching for knowledge and his love for writing everything that he found out helped him rise up quickly with the Academy, Raian had always been a top students, but unlike when he was alive he was praised for being a top student not bullied or beaten up for it, as the years in the Academy went by he became stronger and more powerful but never letting go of his hobby of reading, he was well known in the Academy for his writing and his mind he had friends now but the reading was always there. In the last year of the Academy Raian was top of his class and in almost all of the academy.
After Raian had graduated from the Academy he found himself joining the 9th Division as a low ranked Reaper, put his search for knowledge also led him to power and strength. After a few years as one of the lowest in the Division he found himself training to reach his Shikai and after 2 rough eyes of hard training he was finally able to accomplish his goal and rose higher in the Division becoming a Lieutenant but he did not rise just because of his Shikai his love for writing and reading helped him rise faster within the Division soon Raian was a Vice-Captain, he did not expect to have risen so fast in so little time, even now on top of the 9th Division he never stopped searching, reading and writing, Raian now was ready to start the rough training to achieve what so many few Reapers had accomplished, the Bankai. Raian knew that it would be hard but he never lost his hopes. Riaian would train for 6 years before he could reach his goal of Bankai, he now was somewhat special in Soul Society, the Captain of 9th Division was very impressed by his feat and also very happy since he had grown old and needed to pass down his place to someone and that someone was Raian and that was exactly what the Captain did, Raian can be found as the Captain of the 9th Division since then.
