Alicia blinked as she blew a raspberry. "So what if her mother's a demon... she turned out pleasant, and that's what matters," she said with a grin. She blinked as she noticed blood trickling from between Merrick's fingers. "You're bleeding," she observed. She glanced at the water and noticed it was boiling and telekinetically cut the heat to it to prevent a boilover. Merrick tilted his head slightly, wincing fractionally as he felt the claws retract from his own flesh. "Then apparently they're also capturing some witches... is it possible to capture a certain power or talent like telekinesis?" he said in a low voice. Lorcán appeared moments after Merrick spoke, frowning as he'd caught the last of Merrick's question. "We don't know; we suspect so, but we aren't sure," he said quietly.

Merida sighed and let out a breath. "Yes Constance turned out very well, but then again her mother is a different type of demon. She is kind and caring. We kept Constance hidden from the other demons. They will try to turn her into something evil. We can't have that." She looked over at Merrick and then to Lorcan. "One of you, could you carry her to her room? She needs rest. I don't want to use magic to transport her. She's already been through enough." She stood up slowly. So much was coming to light. She wondered how much Constance would remember when she woke up.

Alicia tilted her head. "I'll handle dinner, so don't worry too much about it," she said with a half smile. Merrick tilted his head thoughtfully. Lorcán nodded slightly before he lifted Constance in his arms and walked quickly towards the hall, headed towards Constance's own bedroom.

Kaosujin Ryu ooc: what would you say about skipping to the meeteign now? get this show rolling?] Merida followed after Lorcan with a sigh. When Constance was in her bed Merida tucked the covers underneath her chin. She turned to look at Lorcan. "I didn't want to tell her yet," she said softly. "I wanted to find the right way to tell her. Hell I didn't even know until recently when my mother told me who Constance's parents are...were." Sighing she ran her fingers lightly through the younger woman's hair. "She's going to hate me for not telling her."

Alede OOC - Fine with me; I have nothing against going 'slow', but things are getting slightly chaotic (which says a lot, considering most of the characters I come up with tend to evolve on their own) so a change of pace would help a lot. Lorcán tilted his head. "She'll understand. Besides, she can't say you didn't know since you found out recently yourself, and I didn't have any clue of it at all," he said wryly, a faint smile twitching at the edges of his mouth.

"Well here we are," Merida said as she stepped into the building. "Everyone else should be here soon enough." She looked behind her at the others. They had been quiet the whole trip her. Constance had been distant, but that was to be expected. Especially when you were told so much about your parents and you were used as a medium by your demon mother.
"Some are already here." Cassandra said as she stepped from the shadows. She looked at the group. "So far it's just us. The Amaranth and the Light covens are on their way."

Alicia swallowed, tilting her head as she saw Cassandra. She glanced Merrick's way, though he seemed focused on other things. Merrick tilted his head thoughtfully, his gaze scanning around. "At least the time passed quietly," he said in a low voice. His hand shifted, brushing the odd marking no larger than a quarter on his inner left wrist. He had awoken with it on his wrist the previous morning and doubted that anyone knew about it. He wore a black leather jacket with a dark teal-green shirt beneath and blue jeans along with cowboy boots. Lorcán turned slightly, smiling faintly as he noticed Cassandra. 'i am not surprised at all. Suffice it to say it's been very interesting for us recently," he said quietly as he tilted his head towards Merrick, fairly sure Cassandra would understand the semi-subtle hint.

"Cassandra," Merida said with a nod.
Cassandra smiled a little and nodded to the other coven leader. "Good to see you, Merida." She had seen Lorcan subtle nod to Merrick and she inclined her head, indicating she understood. Her smile grew a little as she looked upon Alicia. "Alicia my dear niece. It is nice to finally be able to see you in person." She walked over to her niece and touched her arm gently. "You look just like your mother." Her gaze flickered over to Constance and sympathy showed on her face. "And you...you have found out new things about yourself. I know it's hard to take in, but never doubt that you are good."
"Wait...you knew," Constance asked softly.
"My mother knew your father. She passed her knowledge to me when she died." Cassandra said with a nod. "Come, let's wait for the others in the library." She motioned for the others to follow after her.

Alicia blushed slightly, a smile flashing over her face. Merrick frowned fractionally, sensing malice for an instant. He had discovered that if someone felt extremely strong emotions and didn't bother to hide them, he could sense it. "We aren't alone," he said in a low voice. He nodded fractionally to Lorcán's question. "Constance isn't the only one that's discovered a few surprises about their past," he said just loudly enough for Constance to hear as he followed after her, not surprised Lorcan did the same, though he didn't say anything. Lorcán tilted his head, hearing Merrick's low warning. "Outside?" he said in a low voice, barely above a whisper. He noticed the nod from the corner of his eye, but remained quiet.

Cassandra's gaze flickered towards the doors. She had felt the trace of someone outside who wanted in but couldn't get in. She was sure Merida had felt it as well. All the coven leaders had helped put more protection spells around this place. They always knew when something was wrong. "No, not alone," she muttered as she glanced at Merida. The Dark coven leader gave a small nod and turned a different corner than where the others were going.
"Now there is some food ready in the dining room. Alicia, why don't you take Constance and your other friend here to eat something?" Cassandra smiled at her niece and nodded a little. She wanted to speak to Lorcan to find out what all had happened. Merida hadn't told her much at their last communication, and was currently checking the grounds. That left Lorcan.

Alicia tilted her head in a slight nod. She paused subtly, seeing a ripple out of the corner of her eye as Merrick walked carefully, his eyes scanning around cautiously. She blinked, momentarily surprised. She was sure that he wasn't a soldier, yet in that moment, it seemed as if he was focused on any threats to his friends. Merrick cocked his head slightly, his golden topaz eyes scanning around; he suspected the coven heads had noticed the difference in them, especially the slitted pupils. Lorcán tilted his head, not really surprised. "His name is Merrick... and like Constance, he has had an interesting time recently in more ways than one; I know that Merida likely mentioned the incident with the hunter a week and a half ago where he protected Alicia," he said wryly.

Constance walked silently with the other two as they made their way to the dining room. She hadn't really spoken much to anyone since everything had happened, and for that she was sorry. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she was part demon and her mother was still alive, held captive by her own people. Constance clenched her hands into fists as the anger she had experienced in recent days surfaced. She wanted to free her mother. She wanted all this turmoil to stop. A small wall of fire appeared around Constance and stayed there. It didn't move except for around her.
"Yes, she did tell me," Cassandra said as the three left. "But I haven't heard much else." She sighed and shook her head. "At the meeting ...I was going to suggest we tell Constance about her parentage, but it seems that is no longer necessary. Has she asked any other questions? I know Merida just recently found out and might not know as much..."

Alicia tilted her head as she heard the crackling of flames before she half turned, seeing onstance surrounded by flames. She blinked, frowning slightly as she took a couple of steps towards her. She flinched when she heard a snarl that sounded more like that of an enraged wildcat than a human. Merrick cocked his head slightly before he grunted as if punched, stumbling as his hand landed on the table near the food before a deep golden yellow aura swirled around his hand and forearm. The smell of burning fabric followed almost immediately. The images flashed through his mind as a low snarl escaped him. His hand clenched around the fabric as his gaze shifted upward an instant before his form rippled and changed, the muscles tensing and becoming easily three times denser as he stumbled backwards, a low rip following as his clothes ripped apart from the pressure as his form grew from six foot one inch tall to nearly seven and a half feet tall. Lorcán nodded. "Unfortunately Constance has been rather... withdrawn since finding out about her parentage; It was interesting, but we found he seems to have the ability of aura manipulation... a very rare talent," he said before he caught the scent of burning fabric and frowning as his gaze shifted from Cassandra to where Alicia, Constance, and Merrick had gone. "We also found something very odd about Merrick; I have been working with Amelia to find out the origin of a certain marking on the back of Merrick's left hand, which I now suspect to be some sort of binding or deflection seal that is weakening," he said quickly before he loped towards where it was coming from.

Cassandra hurried after Lorcan to where the scent of fire came from. She skidded to a halt as she saw the fire around Constance and how Merrick had changed. "Holy crap," she whispered as she moved forward between Alicia and the two. She didn't think they would hurt her, but just in case something happened, Cassandra wanted to be the first they came at. "Constance, dear," Cassandra said slowly, "Can you say something to me? Let me know you're okay?"
"Huh?" Constance looked at Cassandra, started, and as she did so the flames died. She looked at her hands in confusion. "I...I am sorry. I don't know how I did that."

Alicia blinked, seeing Merrick's shifted form before she inhaled sharply, taking a couple of steps towards him before he dropped to his knees, an aura of golden amber energy engulfing him before he reverted to his human form. She blushed as she realized he was well endowed naturally in a certain intimate place. Merrick coughed a few times before he rose slowly to his feet, unaware he was utterly nude with Cassandra, Alicia, and Constance only yards away. When he spoke, his voice was hoarse. "Seems whichever group has her mother.... also has mine," he said, standing slowly and turning to face the quartet. Lorcán blinked at Merrick's unusual 'were' form before he suddenly reverted back to human. He noticed Alicia's blush, but wasn't sure why she was blushing. He blinked as Merrick spoke, clearing his throat to warn the young man. A slight frown crossed his face at the information the male witch revealed. That isn't good at all, he thought.
