But apparently that wouldn't be happening as she tripped up over a rock bringing herself to a COMPLETE halt. She actually contemplated giving up right there and just going home.

Falcon was proud of his finish the previous day and was planning on doing something similar today. He looked about at the two paths he was going to decide between and thought about what he needed to do. The track on the right was longer but he could run faster. The track on the left was shorter but a straight line with obstacles.
As he thought on the need to prove yourself he figured the straight line was better. He wasn't always going to be running in clear paths, he needed to prove he could do it when the footing wasn't great as well. That settled it for him, he crouched down and at the signal took off for the straight path. He concentrated on his footing this time but still was pushing his legs as hard as they could go.

Falcon smiled as he took off for the broken path. He was concentrating on his footing and he saw some bramble coming up. He noticed there was a small bit that was open so he aimed for that hole to push through as fast as he could go. He was going to finish first this time so he pushed his legs hard to push through the bramble fast without losing his footing.

Falcon knew that was the fastest path through it. He could feel it pulling on his fur a bit but nothing that really slowed him down. He looked ahead an notice a small log in the path this time. He was going to have to jump over it and maybe push off. As he got close he lept to clear it keeping his footing in mind and try pushing off the log for more speed. He needed to make sure his paws had to hit stable parts or it would crumple and he'd lose speed.

Falcon had an idea this was going to happen. He did lose some speed on it. The log crumbled under his feet as he pushed off slowing him down but he was able to recover and keep enough of his speed it didn't matter. He just had to keep going and not try anything like that again.
Coming up was some more brambles and the only somewhat clear path was low under them. So he crouched low and made sure to leave his paws clear and run through them as fast he could. he was going to try and push himself through there without slowing down. He knew it might sting a bit but he had to deal with it and prove himself.

Falcin didn't expect that the brambles snagged his fur hard really taking some of his speed away. One of his paws slipped as he tried to push through, this was definitely harder than he expected. He made it through though and it did look like the next bit was fairly clear. He just had to dodge the debris which could take some speed away but it wasn't going to take a lot of speed away.

He just couldn't get his speed up with all this dodging. He finally cleared his way through the debris and pushed hard. He needed to make sure his paws were clear but it was now time to turn on the speed. He was going to do minimal dodging and just push on going fast and getting to the finish line. He had just passed the halfway mark and had lost all his speed from the great start he had. No brambles or anything would stop him from getting first this time.

falcon finally was feeling a bit better moving a bit faster than he was previously. His paws were hitting the ground making good contact but his legs were starting to feel tired. It was probably from the race yesterday but he just had to push through it.
He could feel some of the brambles trying to snag him but he was moving too fast for them to really hinder him. He wasn't going to stop and he was going finish as fast he could. He needed to prove that he was fast with obstacles as the other rabbits were on a clear path.

Falcon finally felt his feet and muscles pushing as hard as they could as they were in the beginning of the race. He needed to keep this up for the rest. It did look like things were starting to clear up and not as many brambles or bushes in his way. So he would concentrate on his paws placement and pushing his legs hard to spring forward towards the finish line. He needed to hurry, he so very much wanted to be a runner and hopefully if he finished as one of the first people he would prove he could do it through a nice clear path or through a tough littered path.

Falcon felt that the earth was a bit loose towards the end, it wasn't too difficult to run through but it did take a little bit of his speed away. He just hoped that pushing through loose earth wasn't going to tire his legs out too much. He had only a little bit left to go and he knew he could do it. He was keeping his eyes on the ground and what was ahead of him so he knew how to react and where to place his paws. He kept pushing his legs hard, just a little bit more and they could rest. It didn't look like there were any brambles in the way, it was just a speed and endurance check now.

Falcon felt that his legs were getting tired but the finish line was right in front of him. All he needed was a quick push and he would be across and could rest. So he pushed himself hard, the path was clear, he didn't need to worry about his paws anymore. All that mattered was speed and endurance now, his legs wouldn't give out on him before he crossed the finish line, he would be okay.
