As the Kiranu jumped for her axe, Maddox's eyes percieved how fast she was. He noted that she was faster than him, and he should do somethig to even those odds. Eventually, an idea popped into his head.

As soon as she had managed to wrap her hand around the axe, The scoundrel had jumped into action. He turned to face his trainer/opponent, and shot his tail at her. It sped at her head on.

Just as the blade neared hear, it made a sort of L shaped looping direction. The blades new course of direction was directly at the back of his kiranu instructors legs. If it hit, it would successfully slice her hamstrings. This would make her much slower.

It was uncanny just how the instructor moved. There was a timing to her path that made Maddox's attack seem pointless and off target. She landed above and away, the branch cracking a little from the heavy axe head being thrust into it. "Not bad, new guy. You never gave me a name or element."

A clinking sound could be heard as the links of the chain rattled as they hit each other from missing their target. The chain retracted backwards until the dagger tip was comfortably above his head once more. He looked at his instructor once more with his dark brown eyes before speaking. "I am called Maddox, and fire is my element. And your name would be?" Je said, inquiring the Kiranu with a very slight raised eyebrow. The anima's exodus bristled dangerously, and Maddox merely gave it a wicked smile. "My apologies, this is Reaver." He said, formally introducing his weapon. The kiranu jerked the axe from the branch and made it vanish into thin air. "I'm Kimmi, the head instructor for these woods. "And with how you regard your weapon there, you must be Anima as well." She made her way back down to the ground. "I need you down here to learn you element. Don't need you to set the woods ablaze."

The anima nodded slightly before flexing his knees slightly, lightly jumping from the tree to the ground, landing silently enough on the leafy forest floor in a crouch, his black clad legs bent lightly and his cloak flapping slightly as he did so. His head tilted up from the ground to looking at his instructor, he rose from his crouch. "I already have a basic grasp for fire control, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to become more adept. What more is there for me to learn at my current strength?" Maddox's dark brown eyes were trained on the woman intently as she explained the skill to him. It sounded simple enough, and was better than most of the skills he currently had. He figured he'd give it a shot.

Maddox began charging up his energy, waiting until he felt the familiar tingly sensation of his fire energy. Once he did, he performed the skill firebolt, shooting out a small ball of fire. He then caught that same ball of fire on the end of it's tail.
[2/3]
The result of grabbing onto the end of the bolt was a long cracklig whip of heated energy. He smiled slightly for the first time since meeting his teacher, the fire exciting him a little inside. He then cracked the whip experimentally a few times before allowing them to dissipate.

"Alright. So we had a student sent up to Lake Serenity for a mission himself but he has yet to return. Travel up there and help him out. Or bring back any remains you might find. Just watch out for some of the natural flora of the forests. They're much worse than what manages to grow within the enchantments."

Shura sighed as she stretched out, and the circle of flames expanded to accompany for the room she would need to stretch, although the flames wouldn't catch any of the forestry on fire since Shura could control what it burned.
