Sin smiled and gave a whistle of approval as Mort picked up Belladonna and carried her safely across the last stretch of road. Thank Jack they were across, watching them had been painful, but probably not as painful as the experience itself. She found herself holding Mort in higher esteem and walked over closer to him and Belladonna.
"That was rather heroic..." She murmured mostly to please the enthusiastic Reaper and console the Zombie Boil.
She turned back and crossed her arms wondering what Desu was going to put them up against next. The end goal, candy, had better be Jack damned important after all this. Sin had no intention of becoming a Trick or Treater if it involved these sorts of shenanigans.

Running through traffic. Weren't little spooks taught not to do these things? And here they were. Faced with having to do such a thing.
This was just perhaps a little bit crazier than Mei would have liked. Being run over by something that weight a bajillion times more than she did was nothing something she'd really come to appreciate from this trip.
It seemed she was probably the last to attempt the crossing. Standing there on the curb, she danced in place. Waiting for just the right moment. Her little hearts and horsie dancing behind her in a similar fashion. A car zoomed by and she jumped. Landing on its roof with her arms spread out to keep her balance.
At least she had some pretty decent agility to help her out in this situation.

And just like that she went to jump to another car. But lost her footing and fell to the street.
In all heroic fashion one of her little hearts lept in front of a car coming towards her. Exploding in a shower of glitter blood which covered the hood of the car. Still the little heart wasn't enough to deter the driver and Mei ended up hit herself.
Luckily it wasn't life threatening. For now.

The pretty red gem that the heart left behind was enticing. So Mei tried her best to dodge another car to get to said gem. She had to honor the little heart right? For its sacrifice?
Sadly though she could not dodge the next one. Her other heart was taken out and she too ended up getting knocked around. The horsie jumped onto her back and clung to her like white on rice.
It didn't want to die.

Alright. So she wouldn't get the first gem. But this second one. She'd surely get it.
"HO-HA!" Mei dodged a car, rolling along the ground as she snatched up the gem successfully and rolled away again. Scrambling to her feet just in time to dodge another car. The horsie clinging to her neck's eyes wide and tear filled.
"Stick with me horsie! Don't go cryin' to your mama now! We just hafta get across! And if you die I will honor you by taking your gem."

Of course, the faith her little horsie had was shattered. Just as its little body was shattered by the next car Mei failed to dodge. Its little body went this way while she went that way.
When she stood up once more the ghoul could swear she had tired tracks on her back.

But she had made a promise. Well, a secret promise. If her horsie was gonna die she would honor its not so brave sacrifice. Ducking this way and that she scurried through traffic. Keeping a weary eye on the cars as she reached out and snatched up the gem. Placing it into the pocket in her sleeve along with the first one.
Poor horsie. You shall be missed.

Alright well, now she was alone. Mei eyeballed the other students on the other side of the street. Determined to get over there....eventually.
She stopped suddenly as a car shot past her. Ducked left, faked right and went left again. It was almost some sort of awkward dance as she moved about. This time actually dodging the cars well enough.

She could see it. So close. The other curb.
Mei dodged, dipped, ducked, dived and dodged the cars. Almost clipping the front bumper of one. Toes almost squished by the tires of another. For some reason she felt almost as if she were being video recorded or something. This was just something you would see on one of those candid camera shows right?

Perhaps it was over confidence. Or just perhaps this one car had it seriously out for the Jiang Shi.
Either way, as she stepped out from behind one car another struck her dead on. Could she see her house from here? Or was it just a hallucination from having her brain scrambled about from impact.
As she came back down, Mei hit the ground with a thud. Cars zooming past before she finally stood once more. Still a bit dazed she popped one of her pills. Feeling a little bit better.

Finally. Only slightly battered and bruised she stumbled onto the opposite curb. She would have collapsed but now was not the time. That little run had certainly put her agility to the test.
She was ready to just move on and go into the shop already.

Well they did.. okay. Arms crossed as Desu watched them, eventually taking an offered milkshake from a stranger. People were so loving in Valentines. And kind too. Most of them had moved to jump but some had not, and that made Desu-chan quite sad. So as they gathered she let them have a bit of rest. "YOU ARE VERY ODD." She tilted her head at them. "JUMPING WAS GOOD FOR WHILE. BUT THEN YOU FAIL. NOT SO GOOD." To yin she gave a slap to the back with a grin. "YOU BEST." A slap to Sin's back. "AND YOU GOOD TOO. MUCH GOOD FOR YOU. AND CANDY." To the rest she sighed. "YOU ALL NEED MORE SKILLS. JUMP SKILLS AND RUN SKILLS. SO... WEAK." They tried, she would not punish them for such. Motioning them to follow her into the store, she pulled out a gem and set it on the counter. "ONE CHOCOCHIPS COOKINS." A heart shapped spookie was given and she smiled. "OKAY YOU BUY WITH GEMS. YOU HAVE GEMS RIGHT?" She looked to the followers they had gained. "YOU TRADE THEM FOR MORE IF LIKE. OR KEEP. THEY NOT DO MUCH ELSE." She smiled, making her purchases. This was.. not what was expected. Quote: Buying your candies. Like Desu-chan said, you may spend gems or your followers for candies listed below. 1 Gem for 1 item, 1 follower for 3 items. Candies listed below. 1- A coconut chocolate, it’s in a box labeled ‘rejects’. Poor things. Umm… (Effect: More affectionate towards whoever gave them the candy. 24 hour IC effect) 3- Lemon drops. Score! Everyone loves bitter right? (Effect: Makes person a sour puss for 24 IC hours) 4- Dark chocolate. 70% choco. Jackpot! (Effect: Make a person feel super lucky and that they can do anything. See felix felicis from Harry Potter. No battle effects! ) 5- You find some a box of sweethearts. They wiggle time to time and you pause to wonder if they might be eggs. (Effect: Change the color of your appearance for 24 IC hours) 6- Candied rose petals. They come in a flower shaped box. (Effect: You smell like flowers for 24 hours. Oh, and flowers begin to bloom in your hair.) 7- Red hots. They come in a box shaped like a flame. (Effect: You can breathe fire for 24 hours. If you can already breathe fire, you can now breathe a flame that smells like candy. Okay then.) 8- Breath mints: Mouth shaped box… well, someone needs ‘em you guess. (Effect: Can breathe an icy air for 24 hours. If you can already do this, your breath is now very minty.) edit: No your character will not know these effects. Why would Valentines citizens label what they to them is perfectly normal food? This is considered a REST phase. Yayoi Mei is at 20 HP now. Please follow dice rules.

Danny entered the shop cradling the gem in one of his hands. He still couldn't believe they had seriously been expected to run threw traffic- and live (or whatever Halloween Towners did when they got hit by cars). He looked around the candy shop and his ears flattened to his skull. This was NOT a candy shop, this was some kind of perverted 'love' monstrosity he had been tricked to coming to. "Desu, babe...is there any CANDY here...none of this stuff looks...safe..."Last time he consumed something from V-world it had nearly killed him. Everything tasty looking in the store seamed to be as misleading as the non-cotton candy floor. "You sure this stuff is safe for Halloween Towners?"He tried to keep his voice down low as not to draw attention they all weren't from here. Holiday's didn't like to be visited by other holidays, especially after that last mix up with Santa. Though he wasn't sure if he would much rather be killed by angry Katana wielding V-worlders then by his stomach exploding from what Desu wanted them to buy (and assumed consume as well). Frankly he was half tempted just to keep Mr. Glitterheart the Expired and bury him in the back of his shop with a proper grave.

He had almost thought about smacking his head as hard as possible with Desu's response to him. She obviously was not understanding the question about safety. Clearly she meant to have them all killed- or worse looking over the product selection. His mind rattled away at the thought of dying again, wait if you became an un-un-dead wouldn't you be alive again? His face looked kind of perplexed at the thought. Then again life must not have been so great for him if he was dead, he hadn't been to the human world in so long he didn't even know what it was like to live anyway. "I'm going to assume nothing in here is safe then..."He mumbled to himself trying not to enrage the overly hyper girl. He still had to decide what he was going to do with his gem. Poor Glitterheart. It was for the best he left Valentine's Day IN Valentine's day. Gord only knew if he brought it back and it exploded glitter everyplace. He was never going to get enrolled that way. "I guess I will buy something."He sighed and picked out the cherry drops innocently. Then handed away his gem after saying his good-byes. "Eh. I don't have much of an appetite for any of this candy."He walked over to Mort and handed him the box for him to eat. At the same time the label fell off so that there was no longer perverted panties on the front. So it was just a nice gift from one friend to the other. "Mort these are for you. I'm sorry bout all those cars. I hope this will change you're luck some."He gave him a friendly man pound on the back as if reassuring him that everything from this point on would be 100% better.
