Hiru was relieved to see that the big monster that could have nearly decapitated his partner appeared to be having an incredibly hard time breaking free from his trap. This would buy his team the precious minutes they needed to find something worth taking back to base. Still, as solid as his syrup was, Hiru wouldn't take the chance to let this thing break free and attack them.
Not wanting to injure the beast, he thought he'd try to attack it just by making delicate contact with Samehada, draining it of its chakra without injuring its body. Its two bruises could already arouse suspicions from the personnel tomorrow morning, he didn't want to make the situation worse by bashing on it more if it wasn't absolutely necessary.

He knew though that if they all went together through the door that they would still be able to get through the Elemental lab together. Which was perfectly fine with him. He stood back and let everyone enter the room. He ached to go to the Elemental lab but then a movement inside caught his attention. He saw something charge at Naru. He wasn't quite sure what it was. Hiru had dealt with it quickly. He sighed and shook his head. "You just had to show him your faces didn't you." He walked into the room for the first time and stood just out of reach from the behemoth. He tilted his head to the side as he studied him. He smiled as he noticed the marks from Hiru's sword. 'Hate's killing things but doesn't mind bashing them over the head with that... thing.' He turned his attention to Hiru. "Where can I get one of those?" His voice was soft as though on the verge of laughing. He was mostly serious though and couldn't help but smile under the mask. He wondered if it would work. He thought for a moment before he spoke to the stuck person. "Wanna see a trick big guy? I can turn invisible. You wanna see it don't you. I would. Well I'm going to show you anyways. So enjoy the show. I'd say close your eyes and count to ten but since you can't even run without tripping I'm going to say you can count that high. Now watch closely." He pulled a cloak from his bag and held it in front of him at chest height. He smiled as he mumbled something, "Kakuremino no Jutsu." He pulled it up over his head as he appeared to disappear. He then followed through with some hand signs under the cloak and smiled as he thought to himself. 'Suiton: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu.' He smirked as water flowed from his mouth and slide in between his legs to make a perfect image of himself behind him. He pulled down the cloak and smiled under his mask. When she reached the shelves she first glanced over everything with a coolly analytic gaze. There were petri dishes with strange, colourful things growing on them on the bottom rows, and also many rows of test tubes. Some contained small objects immersed in liquid while others were just the liquid, either an emulsion or clear. She quickly decided that stuff not on eye level, or at least a level that was easily reachable, was probably not that important. But how could she tell what was even here?
She spotted a series of charts and graphs on the wall and stepped closer to take a better look. It seemed to concern an analysis of clan or individual abilities. Despite the technical language, Naru's interest was piqued, and she was oblivious to Fenrir's shenanigans behind her, trusting her team to have her back.

Naru took in all the information on the wall in several glances and quickly realised that there was something that Kirigakure might be very interested in indeed. With one hand on the chart she located the exact location of the solution in question and went off to find it. On the third shelf from the wall, she found it resting by itself in a test tube rack. Innocuous-looking, but harboring many secrets that were worth dying for. Or at least the chart claimed. She slipped it into her pack and donned her mask again. At that moment the beast got free and charged at Fenrir, but fortunately could not tell him apart from his clone. She sidled up next to Hiru. "I found something of interest. Let's get out of here!"

On the table Naru found a flask connected to a somewhat large syringe. From the information she deschiphered it looked as though it was the final product of the solution that had been tested on the behemoth they were currently facing. It wasn't very clear since no one in the group had basic knowledge of alchemy, but from the graphs and illustrations it appeared as though the solution was meant to increase a subject's capabilities beyond their natural limitations.
If the village would be able to reproduce it or not was not certain since there were no documents on the synthesis of the formula around, but it could prove an interesting asset that the black ops director would most definitely want to get a hold of...Alchemy DC: 75 Naru's Attempt: 100 Success!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hiru couldn't believe that that creature had managed to break free of his jutsu so easily. He was certain he had performed it flawlessly, and he had seen so many powerhouses in the past struggle for minutes before even being able to lift a foot!
Still, in his surprise, Hiru realized he had waited a bit too long to react and saw the Freak tear through Fenrir. Luckily, it turned out that the one who had gotten its face bashed in turned into water on contact, revealing that his partner's diversion had probably saved him from a painful experience. Hiru wasn't going to let this happen again.
Even with Naru signaling him that she was ready to move on, he realized that it would be too great a risk to let this thing free to pursue them and cause even more noise and damage. By the amount of chakra Samehada had already drained from his opponent, Hiru was fairly certain he could take advantage of the beast's distraction and drain it to the point of unconsciousness in one flurry of blows. Switching into his Hiruken stance, Samehada, already huge from chakra consumption, began to glow with blue energy as its wielder lunged towards his target.

Still glowing from the massive chakra absorption, Hiru took a few moments to catch his breath gather his spirits in order to properly manage all of this accumulated chakra now inside of Samehada and his own body. After looking around to make sure all of his partners were alright, he signaled the squad to move on to the next room to have a look at that strange elemental lab that had caught their attention earlier. By the discussions Naru and Fenrir had heard, there was bound to be something worthwhile in this lab since they appeared to be just a few days away from shipping their final product.
Walking to the sealed automatic door, Hiru took the keycard from Fenrir's satchel and leaned against the wall next to the lock. With a quick look at his squad, he signaled everyone to stand ready as he was going to open the door to see what was inside. In a quick motion, he swiped the card and, as soon as the door slid open, stepped in with his hand on Samehada's handle, ready to react to any form of hostile response.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the doors open, the squad gets a clearer look at the room they had only seen through the window. All of the walls are made of solid glass behind which are elaborate liquid samples from which appear to be emanating various elements or physical matters. The lab itself is very noisy as these compartments are not soundproof and some of these windows seem to be holding back pretty powerful forces.
However, the team's attention is quickly turned to a scientist in an elaborate labcoat standing in the corner with an uneasy look on his face. He is holding what looks like some form of detonator and his thumb is trembling as though it was ready to press on the small button at any time. At his feet lies a solid transparent box in which is contained a sealed test tube literally glowing with energy.
"I heard you guys in the next room!", he says. "If you dare to take even one step closer in here, I'm pressing this button and the safeties on all of these containment units will be released!", he adds with a trembling voice.
It is very apparent by what seems to be held behind these glass walls that, if they should all open at once, there would not be much left of the lab, and of anyone inside for that matter.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not exactly sure about how to react to this situation, Hiru slowly turns to his squad for an idea.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Choice 1Talk the scared scientist down peacefully to try and get him to put down the detonator. Requires a lot of tact but would most likely be the safest way to deal with the situation since failing to do so would not prove a hostile behaviour and might still not alarm the scared man. Diplomacy DC: 40 Success: Puts down the detonator and might even cooperate a bit. Failure: No consequence. Reward: 80 XPChoice 2Scare the scientist into not executing his threat to blow the room up loudly. Given that the scientist's only solution right now involves his own death, it would be slightly easier to intimidate him in abandonning. However, this is somewhat of a high risk maneuver since there's no telling how he would react to the threat and might just be scared enough to push the button. Intimidate DC: 30 Success: Puts down the detonator. Failure: 50% chance he pushes the button. Reward: 60 XPChoice 3Launch a ranged attack aimed at the scientist's arm to make him drop the detonator. This maneuver would require great speed and precision as a failed attempt would certainly be interpreted as an attempt on his life and push him to trigger the detonator. Also, even a succesful attempt might trigger the explosion since the contact between the detonator and the ground might push the button. (Anyone wants to put Murphy's law to the test?) Sneak Attack + Ranged Attack DC: 50 Success: Drops the detonator, 25% chance to trigger the effect. Failure: Scientist pushes the button. [Sorry, I'm gonna just jump in lol]
Naru stayed at the back as Hiru did his thing and followed the group to the next location of interest. She wondered about the solution she'd managed to find briefly, entertaining the thought of using it herself... and then quashing it. It was mission time and that was awfully presumptuous of her wasn't it? Besides, she shouldn't rely on other peoples' work to better herself. She snapped back to the present and the mission when the door slid open. Naru recalled from the conversations they'd overheard earlier that there was probably something important inside... but obviously getting to it wouldn't be easy. The rather pressing situation at hand prevented her from contemplating the contents of the room further. Fortunately, the rather fancily dressed scientist couldn't see her roll her eyes behind her mask. Naru stepped forward, recognising it as a situation for her.
She spoke in what she liked to call her "sympathy voice". Make the target think that they are safe and at least they won't do things without considering the consequences. "Let's be calm about this," she said. "You know as well as I do that pressing that button would destroy not only you but everything you've worked so hard on." She sent a quick glance towards the room they had just left. It was clear she was thinking about what would happen if the wall blew and the freak managed to escape.

He didn't even stand a chance. He followed Hiru as they left the room. He turned towards Naru and gave her a thumbs up for her job at finding that thing. He was never good at that kind of stuff. He braced himself against the side of the door and once Hiru opened the door he was able to notice a scientist with a switch in his hand. He smiled as the threat was made. He kinda liked the guy for his guts, but then again it was a pretty stupid idea. He shrugged and sat down. He knew if he spoke it'd only get worse. He smiled as Naru talked to the man. She seemed to get almost as good at her words as lover boy was. He was glad those two weren't enemies. He let his eyes drift towards the various things around the room. This place easily got his attention. He loved this kind of stuff. He was slightly becoming jealous that the smart people got to work here, but then again, studying and all that was never his forte.

After a beat, Naru realised that Hiru was trying to say something without the scientist knowing. Her heart slowed and she felt a flutter of relief. With all the weird stuff they'd seen so far in this facility, she thought he might've been mind-controlled by the weird substance or something as part of a last-ditch ploy by the scientist. The truth was much more mundane. Guess Naru had been reading too many sci-fi books in her spare time.
So Hiru didn't want to take the long way and waste time. That, at least, was the surface message. Naru didn't think he'd say this right now though if it wasn't important. He must mean something else...

((Thought we could keep this one going at our own pace wink )) Sense Motive DC: 33 Naru's Attempt: d20 [15] + Sense motive [15] + Wisdom Mod [07] + Familiarity bonus [05] = 42 Success!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hiru knew it wouldn't take long for Naru to figure out what he meant... Not only was she pretty smart to begin with, but she was also one of the shinobi in the Black Ops he had been assigned to work with the most often due to their complementary skill sets.
His disdain and reluctance could only mean one thing: the order was to kill the scientist once the objective was acquired. Hiru almost completely withheld the information from his squad, but his conscience could not let him so easily risk his partners' reputations by failing a mission objective without having gathered their opinions on the matter. Escoecially not when it was only because of his own value set...
A decision had to be made quickly, the scientist was by far too intelligent not to realize what was going on if they waited too long.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Choice 1Kill the scientist. Sneak Attack DC: 30 Success: Complete the mission flawslessly, as ordered by Black Ops command. Failure: Initiates a fight, risks setting off alarms and jeopardizing cover. Reward: 360 XP if sneak attack is succesful, 300 XP if defeated after combat. Choice 2Let the scientist be and tell higher ups he escaped. DC: - Success: Scientist leaves. Failure: - Reward: 150 XP (Maybe something else...) Choice 3Hiru is open to quick suggestions... Just be discrete about it...
