FauxPatz sauntered to the limo, and though Marcus likely didn't intend to open the door for the creature, timing and maneuvering gave the Hunter a very distinct lackey moment. Vek took the driver's seat and started up the car. Bella's Lullaby started to play to soothe Robert's tortured feelings.
For about ten seconds, then Vek tossed that s**t out and Rebecca Black's "Friday" came on, which he cranked up full blast. The two boogeymen sang along with it as they cruised down the road passing by lava pits, massive fire hogs, flaming piranha skitters, and various odd vehicles. They continued to sing along for each of the 14 times the song repeated. Any complaints were ignored as the lizard man drove and the imposter danced in his seat.
After what seemed like a painful eternity they arrived at the destination, a set of relief guards greeting them and escorting FauxPatz from the limo. Prinny walked to the reporters and photographers as naturally as breathing. He chatted and charmed and well...
Dazzled them with his faerie charisma.
At some point Vek had disappeared from the scene entirely, which is fortunate since their relief was accompanied by Edith, who gave them a look of approval. "You guys got off to a rough and rocky start with that crazy crowd at the hotel, but you still managed to get here ten minutes early. Nice work boys. Anything I should know or pass on to the relief?"

Cold rage seeped into Marcus's head as Dis raged. The pure anger and hurt was nothing Marcus had ever experienced from the vampire and now it was unsettling him. He wasn't sure anymore, and when the demon went by, Dis sent a hot spear of anger at him. He just couldn't calm Dis, and it really wasn't the place to try. Not now, but later, he'd try to solve the Dis dilemma.
Robert was out of it, and Jordan probably wasn't happy, and now Marcus was stuck with guilt and a pissed weapon. The ride back also gave him a worse headache with singing and the ******** dancing and augh.
Suicide was a terrible thing but he really wanted it to end in that moment.
Edith 's arrival had his heart drop into his stomach. he'd failed her. Hell, he'd failed all of Deus ex. He tried once more to reach out to Dis, only to be pushed away. This was what he deserved. This is what a failure was rewarded with. He would have to let her know. Not because it was right, but because it would be a betrayal. Edith had given him an opportunity she didn't need to. She'd given him a chance and he'd ******** it up.
"No ma'am. All I need to do it give you the mission report." He glanced over at Jordan and Robert, shifting slightly. He couldn't say anything in public.Well he could, but it would go over poorly. Another glance over to the false actor and he felt worse. 'We need to talk' was his silent plea as he smiled at Edith. A false smile. He didn't want to let the other know how badly he'd ******** them over.

Smiling broadly, Edith clapped him on the shoulder, "You did a good job, Hasan. Fluff work it might be, but it takes a lot not to attack when you have the power to do so easily. Those fans were pretty crazy, but no one had to call for an ambulance thank to your restraint. When you get back, you'll find a nice bonus and a new coat waiting for you." Someone called her name, and she held up a hand, "Alright, the civs have taken over the immediate personal protection, but we'll still be keeping an eye on things, so I'll be here awhile. Just use your pendants to get back." Her name was called again, and the leader rolled her eyes and waved the three away, muttering something about paparazzi and needing a snack asap.

The guilt worsened as she smiled. She hadn't a clue what had happened, and the fact she seemed proud of him made that rock in his gut only drop again. "Thank you Miss Carr." She waved them off and he moved away, stiff. Looking at Jordan and Robert, he quickly looked away from them. Out of Edith's earshot he muttered to them. "I'll take care of it. Just.. let me deal with the reports. I-" he shook his head, "-we can discuss it later." He didn't wait, going off to mutter the words, teleporting back to the island.

By the end of the ride, Jordan had the atrocious song firmly stuck in his head. Add that to the list of terrible things that had happened on this mission. When Edith appeared, he managed to keep his neutral expression in place through force of will, letting Marcus do the talking, though a cold apprehension clutched at his stomach.
When the Moon lead released them, Marcus's brief, muttered message made him feel even worse, a roil of mixed anger and dread. He'd catch Marcus later and make sure they discussed it; this had the potential to really screw all of them over.
Jordan sighed and patted Robert's shoulder. "Let's get out of here," he said, and headed around the corner to teleport home out of sight.
