Janis nodded and grimaced. "I guess that makes sense, though I may gain weigh in a few other places." she commented. The way he made it sound, it would gather all in the stomach area. If that happened she'd end up looking pregnant. She chuckled and shook her head at the thought. Her mind seemed to be hooked on that sense he came.
Janis stood up as well. "I should go to check on the man downstairs. Whatever you decide to do becareful." she said with a worried frown. "I'd hate for anything to happen to you." Where had this come from?

Janis was tending to the man she was taking care of. He was middle aged, but his hair was already a startling white. She had wrapped up must of his injuries and placed healing stones around his bed. She'd found him, nearly dead.
He was a mage of minor ablities who had been accused of killing his wife. They had tried to kill him and he put up no fight. She had met him on several occasions before the incident and knew he was in no way guilty. He'd loved his wife dearly. Anyone with a pair of eyes should have seem that. Even if they did argue alot.
He still hadn't woken up and she was afraid he didn't want to live. If that was the case he might never recover.
Janis sighed and suddenly heard her name being called. She stood up quickly and ran out of the underground passage way. Once she was out, she looked down the path coming up to her house.
To her dismay, it was her Aunt who had called her.

Janis forced a smile on her face. "Hello, Aunt Diana. What a please surprise."
The woman sniffed with obvious disapproval. "I supposed it was time I came to see what you were up to." She shot her that suspicious glance. It was one Janis was used to seeing her whole life.
Her and her "Aunt's" relationship was a complicated one. But anyone could see that the supposed "relatives" didn't seem to be on very good terms.
"Well? Are you going to invite me in?" she asked.
"Oh, yes. Of course." she sighed and opened the door for her Aunt.

Janis opened the door again immediately and looked a little relieved. "Help me." she mouthed when her Aunt wasn't looking. She always hated these visits. They were degrading.
"Hello, Cornelius." she said casually, opening the door enough so he could come in if he wanted to. "What did you bring?" She was curious what he was up to. So far her Aunt was waiting patiently at the kitchen table.

Janis blushed furiously. "Oh yes. Could you bring it into the back room." she said with a smile. Her eyes told him they would discuss that later.
"Janis, are you done. I know your "busy" most of the time, but you can spare a few moments for the woman who took you in right?" her Aunt called. The way she emphasised "busy" made it sound like the opposite. Janis refrains from rolling her eyes.
"Of course, I'm almost done." she replied leaving the door wide open for Cornelius and opening her bedroom door as well. She left him to that. She'd have to introduce him in a second but at least she could put it off for one more moment.
"So, Aunt Diana. How are you and the other girls." she asked pleasantly.
"We are doing the same as usual. I see your finally getting some furnishings in here. It's been so bare." she commented. "Still, isn't a king size bed rather large?" She shot a suspicious glance at Cornelius, then back at Janis.

Janis smiled and nodded. "Yes, this is Cornelius. He's been a great help." she said with sincerity.
Diana narrowed her eyes at him, looking him up and down. "Do I know you? I'm sure I haven't seen you around before. You're not from Dunsworth are you?"
Janis wanted to bang her head on the table. Why did she always have to make visits an interrogation?

Diana studying him for a long time before sighing and nodded. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Cornelius." She looked back to Janis. "I only came for a short visit. It is a long walk from here to town. You should visit me more often Janis. It's only polite." she stated. Janis knew that the woman was more worried about what she was up to rather than how she was doing. She wished she'd leave her alone. She was grown now. Capable of making her own decisions.
"Oh. I thought I should warn you. A suspected killer escaped awhile back. I'd suppose he was dead by now, but keep a look out." her Aunt suddenly said. Janis resisted the urge to flinch.
Aunt Diana stood and Janis with her. "I'd better go before the girls get into trouble." She looked at Cornelius again. "I hope we can chat more in the future. I'd love to know where you are from."
She walked past Janis and patted her on the belly. "I'd lay off the food, you're get fat." Janis flushed with embarressment. "I'll see you again Janis."
She let herself out the door. Janis didn't relax until her footsteps faded.
"Geez, that woman."
