Ami continued climbing. Somewhere idly below her, she could hear Allan shout all sorts of encouragement. Were the others cheering as well? She couldn't even tell. She was far too focused on the ground and how far away it was.

The running had been fun and had left Ofelia a little more than eager to try something next. When she reached the area with the others and was given some weird drink by Allan she . . . .thought about passing on it. Carbonated beverages (that's what it was right? It was bubbling) didn't do well on someone who'd been running around. Sure she'd be thirsty later but for now at least she wasn't risking a chance to get sick.
And then Allan said it was time to climb rope. Ofelia was used to climbing with her bare hands, using her toes and fingers as the tools she needed, but if Allan said USE A ROPE she was going to use a rope goddammit.
Slowly she moved over to it and took it in her hands, looking up and wondering just how this was going to work. She didn't...start right away because that would have been bad? Plus it was more fun to watch the red-head next to her jump up and down, ehehehe.

Her body impacting with the ground made a dull thud, unsettling a little bit of the dirt that was on the ground. She gasped as the pain rocked through her already vulnerable body.
She was never going to be in Sun.

Another one of the hunter trainees had approached the rope, so Ami figured she'd just lay here for a little bit of time while the pain subsided.
Yes, laying here was a very good idea.

He wouldn't. Marcus is nice.
Junpei's bubbly laughter (quite literally, it always sounded like he was underwater), echoed in her head and she let out another moan. This was actually torture in the disguise of a promotion.

Overall, if listening to Allan had been correct, they needed to scale ten feet and then come back down? Coming down was never hard, it was the going up that would be a challenge, and Ofelia basically jumped up onto the rope to give herself a start.
A whole, single foot start.
. . . .at least she was off the ground now.

Ami got up and dusted herself off finally, ready to tackle the rope for a second time. Ofie was making a good effort on hers. She could at least try her best as well. Wow that sounded cliche.
With a flat expression, she gripped her rope and started climbing. She was just going to rush this. Just grapple up the rope and-

A strong wind picked up and Ami lost her grip, sliding all the way down until she was just dangling off the ground.

The fact she still had her shoes off was good, Ofelia could use her toes to help her hold onto the rope as she shimmied up. It was pretty slow going, she was a bit more tired than she originally thought thanks to the exercises that had come before, and she was partly wondering if she should have had the drink after all.
Hindsight seemed to be becoming something of a second nature to her, but her eye twitched and she moved along. Happy thoughts, always happy thoughts.

Ami really did want to try scaling the rope once more, but the combination of rope burn and calisthenics was just killing her. Absolutely killing her.
So she just dropped down off the rope to take a breather.

Alright, break time was over. Gosh what all her fellow trainees must have thought of her. She must've looked like a complete wimp next to all of them. This was suuuper awkward.
Oh well. She was a wimp, but she was a wimp that was going to tackle this rope and get over that damn wall.

It felt like she had gotten a rope splinter in one of her toes and Ofelia shifted herself up a bit so she could check, wrapping the actual rope around her leg to prevent herself from sliding. Somehow in the process she actually managed to move up a foot but that was rather accidental.
The end result though was her foot was fine and she was maybe halfway there?

And just like that Ofelia scrambled her way up the rest of the rope, reaching the top without much trouble. She wondered if Allan was proud of her for doing so good on all these things, proud of her for being a member of the sun division. The jacket that had been tied around her hips this entire time surely caught his eye, right? He really did know who she was, right?
. . . well it wasn't like she needed his cheering, since he was cheering for everyone but it would have been nice to have him say he knew her from his group.
. . . even though they'd only met twice. And Ofelia was still clinging to the top of the rope without much trouble.
