»"Out of my way! Let me through or I'll have you incarcerated for obstructing a Captain," a high, reedy voice rang out from near the doors. "Yes, I'm a Captain, you oaf. Just because I don't wear a thrice-damned haori doesn't discount my ability to have you hung by your heartstrings. Now move!"

Hundreds of people in mostly soberingly black attire thronged in the hall and doors and clogged the massive hall, making it feel utterly claustrophobic. Hana, ragged and thoroughly aggravated by the events of the day, was in no mood to deal with peons. Not when so little made sense at the moment, and certainly not when they were everywhere. It ruined the effect of walking into the Hall for the first time as a newly minted Captain. Hana had been there before, but never under such a bier of authority, and never by obligation. The sensation was lost on her as little more than a nauseous shiver.

With a grunt, Hana bent her knees and jumped, using energy to propel her to about shoulder height on the average adult body. Some were left behind, below her, while others towered like megoliths, but she didn't have a hard time spotting the eye-searing haoris of her comrades. One in particular stole her attention and some misbegotten aggravation prompted her to smirk and move with startling ease to a certain set of shoulders. With a sigh, Hana sat herself on none other than Raiku Sato's right shoulder, finding the vantage point hard to discredit. It afforded her a generally agreeable view of proceedings, including Jin Setsuna and the corpse of Animus. If she fidgeted, she could catch a glimpse of all the Captains through the crowd.

The crowd. Whoever ordered for every shinigami to attend was a fool and would have been detained on a hefty list of charges in the olden days. In Genryūsai's time, such an order never would have passed. It undermined the privacy of such affairs which were best handled among the sage sovereigns of the armed forces. Not to mention, it compromised the relative security of the hall, and invited calamity. And what was worse, it was a blatant means for war-mongering. Discussions were meant to stay within a select group of people chosen to dictate their stance with reason, while announcements were to be held in the courtyard below. Hana had it in her mind by that point to assume the one giving this order was a fool and either entirely unfamiliar with the notions of tact and propriety, or severely addled by the trauma of immediate events. Either way, she didn't want them in a position of power.

"Stop, Raiku," she admonished him in hushed tones. It was a rare occasion where she would address another Captain by his first name, but she knew he needed a little jolt to shift his reasoning into gear. "I know how you feel-I'm not as heartless as you might think, but you're letting your grief and panic and anger cloud your judgement. We're Captains; we don't get to have these sorts of fits."

Taking a steadying breath, Hana decided to address the masses.

"It's common logic that a leader must be determined and instated immediately to ensure we remain organized and prepared, and to minimize any exploitable weaknesses an enemy may explore. However, I cannot condone the presence of the cadaver. I remind the lot of you of the customary autopsy that follows the death of a soldier, and offer both the Gijutsukaihatsu Kyoku's morgue and the services of our morticians on staff to dress the body for the ceremony," she said in a steady voice, lacking the hitches and drawls of a child's speech patterns. The weight of Hana's condemnation for the mishandling of the body was clear-as well as her distaste based upon the tinge of anger in her voice.

"Furthermore, I wish for it to be removed immediately. We as a people know how sacred the dead are. This is simply gross disrespect to the legacy and honor of Animus Yamamoto to have his corpse lying upon the floor before the seat he once occupied where anyone may gawk."

Grimm looked back at Hana as she spoke and then looked back to Jin with a solemn face. He sighed and stepped over to Animus' body and picked it up. He had his eyes closed as he turned around and when he reopened them his eyes were more solemn then ever before. "His body will be moved then, its the least we can do to honor him further." Grimm began walking but stopped when he came up to the crowd of Shinigami blocking his way. As he began walking again one by one they all moved out of his way as he carried Animus' body out of the Meeting Hall. Soon though he used Shunpo taking the body to the 4th Division and then shunpoed back returning to the Captains Hall. Before he stepped back into the room he turned around looking at the large group of Shinigami. Any Shinigami who is not a Captain or a Lieutenant must disperse immediately under the orders of Squad 6 Captain Grimm Amarai. If you do not leave I will thoroughly investigate every single one of you for treason." With that said he turned back around and shut the doors to the Meeting Hall not bothering with kicking out who was already there when they shouldn't be.

Squad Eleven, Lieutenant

==========Alex
Romero==========

"A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon"

Alex emerged from his barracks with a tried look on his face and quickly began to make his way to the hall "This cannot be good," he thought to himself while making his way to the hall. He soon arrived at the hall pushing the doors until there was enough room for him to slip through, in his mind he dreaded entering at this point, as this was clearly not a time for annoyances. He entered without making a sound to avoid attention to himself; the wrath of the captains was the last thing he would want cast unto him. He closed the doors with speed and took his spot in the hall behind where his captain should be standing, but he couldn't really pick him out through the crowd of shinigami "Forgive my tardiness," he said bowing his head down as an apology to his fellow lieutenants and the captains. He regained posture and stood sternly among the fellow captains and lieutenants as to not draw attention to himself and the possibility of his captain's absence.

Third Seat of Division Ten

Upon hearing Captain Amarai's words, Aya felt a slight sense of relief. She was actually glad to be getting away from all this tenseness. And so, slowly standing up, the third seat turned around to face her Captain and Lieutenant and bowed. "I'll see you back at the barracks then, I guess..." she said, managing a smile. Then with one last look at the the two, Aya took her leave.

Ooc: Exit to Division Ten Barracks.

Akane remained silent, listening to the captains she was disappointed in the seemingly lack of control over their own emotions. Letting anger or overcome them would only cause harm. Either way it was not her place to speak up and against what had been said, nor did she have anything to contribute to it. However when Grimm spoke up, Akane knew she now would be able to take care of the situation with Rin quickly. The lieutenant bowed her head to Grimm, putting her hand on the back of Rin, 'Of course Captain Amarai, but before I can send this boy off I must speak to my Captain." She turned away from Grimm and using the hand she placed on the Rin's back, guided him to face Axzaki and push him a little forward. Akane bowed her head once more, "Captain Heroki, in your absence the son of former captain Gin Ichimaru, Rin Icimaru, was left at the squad barracks by Squad Twelve to be left in our care. Until now I have had him under orders to remain with me until you could properly reach a decision." She chose to leave out the parts about finding Rin to be drawing on his paperwork, she was sure he'd diccover that for himself eventually, so she really didn't need to say anything about it.

Shingo slowly walked back into the room, his reiatsu back at its normally human like level. "...I met the new Head Captain..." Shingo said softly as he went to his spot, the anger his voice once held gone. "...He KNEW the Taizai... He practically talked to one as if it were a comrade... I would not trust this man if I were any of you..."

~ Leadership isn't about speeches or being liked...

As things continued to grow more and more intense in the Assembly Hall, everything soon became quiet as the two massive wooden doors flew open, as the silhouette of a man was clear in the doorway. The room became quite as this man soon walked in, as he had on a sleeveless haori, with the fabled 1st Division insignia on the back of it. Making his way to the front, he turned around and faced the present shinigami in the meeting room. "I know several of you have questions as to who I am so I will answer the most basic of questions. My name is Kenshin Hiroshi and I am your new Commanding Captain. I'm currently 3657 years old, so I have a ton of experience under my belt with just about all fields necessary in becoming a Commanding Captain. Also, those of you who are leaving, you are to stay here. I need all shinigami 6th seat and above present for this meeting." Pausing, he allowed a moment for some of the present shingami to process what he just said in regards to his age, as he was quite the old man, even with such a young body. It was as if he were immortal. Then as he sighed, he took a seat in what was Animus' seat in the Assembly Hall and began the meeting. "Alright. I know most of you are wondering why I have called you all down here. It's obvious that I've called you all for our recent problem with the Taizai and how to handle them."

Pausing for a moment, he thought back about past memories of which he could remember about some of the Taizai and as well as the footage that he saw from the fight between Animus and Wrath. It was chilling that Wrath had grown so strong and was able to kill the previous head captain without even using his actual weapon. Sighing, he then resumed speaking, as he continued to talk about the Taizai."Alright. I know that a lot of you are very worried about how we should go about in handling the Taizai situation. Right now as things are, Taihei is going to remain off limits, as we need to refocus our attention on giving Animus a proper burial as it is the proper thing to do for such a great man who sadly gave his life on this day trying to bring peace once more to the Soul Society." Pausing, he knew that he shouldn't really speak much, even though he was a close friend of Animus, it seemed a bit odd that he was talking about Animus. Sighing, he then allowed for the others in the room to speak as they should speak about the situation and importantly about how they felt about a total stranger replacing their beloved Commanding Captain.

Jutaku jumped through up and caught the butterfly, outside the door. As he did so it disappeared. "Aw, I squashed it to dust," he kept himself from smiling as Kira would do. Instead he just stood there looking at his hands. As he looked up he heard that in reality he was supposed to be in the meeting. "Oh no," Jutaku said as he tried to sneak in to the meeting, staying in the back of the group.

Grimm sighed a little and looked up at Kenshin as he walked in and began speaking. He knew Kenshin was going to be Animus' replacement and no matter who his replacement was, Grimm still had a duty to the Soul Society and to the Gotei 13. As Kenshin took his seat where Animus used to sit Grimm slightly bowed his head in respect towards him. He then stepped forward looking at him. "Head Captain, back in the world of the Taizai, when you first met myself and Axzaki, you talked as if you knew Wrath from a long time ago. How is that?

Raiku Sato
Squad 10 Captain

User Image

Raiku began to calm down slightly after hearing the people telling him to chill. Raiku felt Miyuki's hand of his shoulder and looked over. He gently took her hand off his shoulder and managed a weak smile. The yellow eyes began to disapate too. "Alright Yuki, I'll calm down, thanks." Raiku then turned his head to look at Hana. "Hana, also thanks for calm.............." Raiku never finished the sentence because his eye started twitching. He only now realized Hana was on his shoulder. Raiku became a tad irritated. "Why are you on my shoulder!" Raiku was also irritated that he hadn't noticed she was there until just then.
Raiku then listened as the new Head Captain introduced himself. He managed to keep himself calm this time. He was determined not to go into a rage so soon after he just finished. Raiku calmly sighed as Kenshin took Animus's seat. Raiku became a tad irritated again at this but managed to restrain himself. He turned and looked at Kenshin with a somewhat cold look on his face. "Before we talk about the Taizai, how about you tell us exactly who you are. An highly experienced captain coming out of no where to replace our Head Captain so quickly? Its bound to raise questions. What the hell were you doing before this?" Raiku didn't trust this guy, he seemed like too much of a spook. He never trusted people who seemed to be from the Royal Guard or something like it for the Soul King. Raiku wasnt positive that this guy was what he was thinking, he just had the feel of a royal guardsman.
"Indeed don't trust them." A calm, yet sinister voice began to sound in Raiku's head. His inner hollow had finally decided to voice an opinion. "We can't let this man come in so quickly, something seems fishy about all of this."
Raiju then spoke as well after the hollow. "For once I agree with sir spooks little children a lot. Something doesn't seem right."
Raiku then waited for Kenshin to respond.

LORD OF STORMS

Jin Setsuna

Jin nodded towards both Axzaki and Grimm. The question they asked... Would This new man be good for the Gotei? " Yes. This man... I would trust him with my life, and then some! " He exclaimed, suddenly vehement in his speech, slapping his free hand against his chest. " He will do more than lead us to victory. He will avenge the death of Animus, and all of the souls lost yesterday. " Jin smiled lightly, pleased with himself.

If only the freaking guy would come already! Jin just wanted to sit down, and crawl into his bottle. This was so stressful! It was with a heavy heart the Jin hadn't gone to stop the group of people from going into Tahei. What were they thinking! It was ridiculous, wild, and stupid. To make it worse, mere hours ago, Jin had heard that Animus had died as a result. These Taizai were old enemies, ones Jin knew as well as the new Head Captain. Jin let himself fall into a lag of thought, thinking about the alcohol he would enjoy later. Hana's arrival and her decision to talk about Animus and his body.

When Shingo came in a moment later, Jin just flipped the bird, blatantly. " I won't even try with you anymore. ******** man... "

Then, the man arrived. Jin let himself smile wide, happy that he had come at last..." This is him... " He murmured with a slight air of awe. Jin's eyes lit up with something. Hope.

Kenshin spoke. Then, captains questioned why he came. Jin stepped forwards, giving Kenshin a knowing look. " Kenshin and I, long ago, were in the Gotei Thirteen, together. We fought together multiple times. He even went into Division Zero before myself, the b*****d. " Jin gave a small shrug, careless, and free. " It's obvious where he came from, Raiku. Division Zero has many more aspects than I let on. There are other captains within, other parts that run different areas. " Jin gestured to Kenshin, with a sweeping, bowing gesture. " Kenshin was one of the few people trusted to protect the Soul King himself. HE stood side by side with the man, sword drawn, and fighting. Can you all say the same? " Jin shrugged again.

" But that isn't the point. He is what we have. He may not be the Head Captain we want, but he is the one we need. " Jin smiled lightly. " The Taizai will be eliminated under his ruling eyes, and he will fight with us, in order to destroy them."

" Tell me I'm wrong. "

" Howze about you and me go for a drink, Hmmm? "

Third Seat of Division Ten

Aya stepped back into the hall, and quickly made her way back to Raiku's side. Kneeling down beside him, she looked up just as the new Head Captain walked in and took the former Head Captain's seat. Just by looking at him she could tell that he was indeed very strong and kind of cute. But still, she'd need to push that thought aside. Now was not the time to be thinking of such things.

Shadow walked in and took a spot next to his captain. He seemed to be assembling his arm -guard and other details as he looked around the room. "I asked that i be awoken from 'maintenance' if something big or important was happening an hour prior, and not in the last 10 min." He looked around the room "The only info I got was there was a new head captain, can someone fill me in on the details?" Shadow put on his last part as he looked up and saw the new commander. He turned his gaze away, for he felt like commander Animus' death was his fault. Not for his unwanted trip to Taihai, but for the fact he should have know that Wrath was too much, more so after his fight with Greed, who's attack did more damage then Shadow let others know about. IT was with a heavy heart that Shadow watched another family lose a member." I need more...." he whispered "I need more power. In the form of knowledge, skill, and rank. I need more power to crush anyone who dose this to my kin at arms." He raised his head and watched the meeting go on

Grimm huffed a little as he stepped forward standing beside Jin now. "I agree with Jin on this." He then got on one knee and bowed his head in respect. "I will follow you into battle and be an ally and a friend to you Head Captain." Grimm then stood up remaining beside Jin. "I am Captain of Squad Six Grimm Amarai, I am at your command, sir." Grimm remained standing beside Jin and looked at him questioningly. "If you trust him Jin, I do too." He only said this last part loud enough to where only Jin could here him speak it.

"Do we really Need to fight...."

Axzaki aka Gin

User Image

Axzaki. Looked at Akane as she approached him. He listened as she spoke, but what shocked him more was the child of the man he too also liked became and fell into his division. This was surprising to him and it made little worried with a slight smile on his face. He looked down at the boy noticed the bot looked like his father. Axzaki got down on one knee which was right patted the kid on the shoulder, which was surprising...why was he still a kid."We should talk more later."he said before standing back up. Hearing Captain Yakazu enter the room explaining all that was happening, Axzaki became quite interesting to see who was this new head captain. When he saw it was Ken, Axzaki sighed. He looked to Grimm as Grimm had kneel before him. Then, Axzaki looked back to Ken. He heard everything Ken said, but he was sure he could get them victory. Though Axzaki wasn't upset, or even angered about this mans replacement.

He had his own thought. The thought of Animus will never be in this world with him again. The thought of having to follow someone else's orders, instead of his adoptive father. He walked over to his spot and became quiet for a moment. He looked over to Akane and the boy named Rin." Lieutenant, come. You must stand beside me as our New Head Captain speaks."he said in a calm demanding voice. He wasn't putting out anger, he just had a load of thoughts clouding his mind. He closed his eyes, no more revealing his grayish colored eyes and humbled himself and became quiet. He was waiting to hear the new orders or thoughts of this new captain. Which he positive he was strong, and no doubt in mind a great fighter as well. Just by his presence you could feel this mans reiatsu which was outstanding by far. Axzaki let out a small sigh, as he slowly became less stressed.

The far most as well, where are the other captains. This was kind of a disappointment that they will not be showing up while their new appointed head captain is placed. Though Axzaki and Animus was close like actuall father and Son, he had to let go which it will take time. Axzaki was slightly annoyed that the others aren't there. Which made him wondered why would they not be here though.
