Taking a moment to organize the things that seemed more useful to her in the long run for the rebuilding her home she then started to try and get everything ready to go. She paused only a moment to glance at Tseng, "Brother I will meet you back ... home," She said this with some hesitation but for the most part she was done with this place. Done snapping at strangers and getting them in trouble, and she was also done with being around a lot of people because all she was doing was embarrassing herself. She left carrying her chosen burdens proudly.

Having settled into his space in their new home, Pich was finally ready to start helping out. He knew that the greatest need at the moment was for materials, and that there were two main places teeming with potentially useful items: around the school, and in the Weeping Forest. At the school, he was far more likely to run into others. In the forest, he would be much more secluded. If he were lucky, he might even see some wild creatures! He had heard that there were many more minipets here than had been on the Isles, and he was eager to see if this was so.
He knew that wild minipets, like all living things, needed water, so he headed first for stream he could hear a ways in. He knelt, looking for signs of recent tracks, and noticed that the bank consisted of a relatively pure if simple clay. That could be quite useful for rebuilding, he scooped some up from a cleaner section and wrapped it in a bit of damp cloth before setting it in his bag and moving on. There were no recent tracks here, and he doubted any wild minipets would come while he remained.

Pich reached the top of the tree... and discovered that all the trees in the area were of a similar height, and with thick enough foliage that he had no hope of seeing the ground, yet alone anything useful. He climbed back down below the lowest branches and noticed a large, hollow tree that he had missed earlier. The outer surface seemed sound, only the inside had rotted away. This could be useful indeed. It was a bit big for his bag however, so he made a note of its location so he could collect it on his way back.

Wandering further, Pich noticed another large, hallow tree. If he summoned Nebi, his mount, perhaps he could hitch him to the tree and bring both back with him. He was sure they would be useful for something. He mentally marked its spot as well for the return trip and continued on his way.

Thirsty from all his gathering, Pich veered back towards the stream. He tread quietly on the off chance he would catch a wild minipet pausing for a drink. He had no such luck, but he did manage to find some more clay of average quality, but fairly clean. He made another damp cloth-wrapped ball and placed it at the bottom of his bag so as not to squish his other finds.

Pich was walking through a small meadow clearing when he tripped, stubbing his toe painfully on something half buried, hidden by the thick grasses. It was a large slab of stone, quite useful for building. He supposed he should add it to his list of things to have Nebi help him haul on the way back. Maybe he could arrange for it to be a section of floor, and he'd step on it every day. With his luck it would be laid imperfectly and he'd continue to stub his toe on it.

There were no further words he could give the Conquest clansmen before they left, not even to Yuzhi's idea of defending him. At best he would have only responded with something terse. "My scavenging is done for now. I will accompany you in your search," Shikoba told Radha as he tied his bag closed. "Shall we see if this forest holds yet more surprises?"
