Angenora was unsure about this part of the class. She wondered why they had gotten out of their dorms so late at night, but she didn't care much. She was more than happy to be outside under the stars.

As the cold night air touched her scales, Qlue shivered and clamped her wings more tightly about her frame, trying to stave off the cold. Even before Dharu gave them the go-ahead to approach an oven, Qlue had already moved next to one and was holding her palms towards it, as if absorbing the sweet, succulent heat.
Qlue glanced at the tray that held her ingredients, considering. Then she reached in with her hands and mixed them around before shoving them in the oven, licking her hands clean as she hunkered down next to it for the heat.
She had nearly dozed off when Dharu clapped her hands and announced the arrival of the teruu. At the words "mostly harmless," Qlue stood up and eyed them warily. The food she wouldn't mind. But like Jack she would let the Teruu get between her and the warm oven!
Qlue's final score: -7 Teruu Polarity: Positive.

It hadn't even occurred to Mitzi to grab a jacket before they headed up to the surface (if she had brought one to the island at all) as it had been hot every time they had gone up during the day. So as they stepped out into the cold night air, she quickly found herself shivering, and wrapped her arms around herself. She couldn't even get much help by staying close to her friends; the ghost and the zombie weren't going to help with heat at all. By the time they made it to the class locating, she was trying hard to keep her teeth from chattering.
She took her ingredients - salamander, stones, hair, stinger - and did her best to organize them onto the tray. Not sure what else to do, she tried making a little picture out of them, but she really wasn't feeling creative, the cold was getting to her a bit.
Finally she decided that at the least, if they were cooking, the ovens had to be warm. So she gave up and headed over to a clump of ovens that looked closer together, hoping more ovens meant it would be a little warmer. It turned out not to be a terrible idea, and as she slid her tray in and then sat down next to the oven, she felt her shivers start to subside a bit.
Then she waited patiently to see what teruu would show up, a bit intrigued by the creatures. They seemed kind of cute, hopefully they wouldn't be as bitey as the other Famine creatures she had met so far.

Holly would have been almost asleep when they were collected again. Since she didn't really need sleep at all. Not that she was cold really, the ghoul zipped up her hoodie a bit, flipped up the hood while she was at it.
Cooking. Now they were finally cooking! Holly picked one of the ovens and went to work. She was glad to that her kill had been prepared for her. Mostly since she didn't know what to do with it. Now she knew the pieces to not use.
She didn't know what to do. Holly crammed all the items onto the tray. Yeah, that was good. She used some of the smaller green stuff and put it on top of the salamander/beak combination.
Holly stuck the tray in the oven and waited. And waited. Okay, not really for that long. She rose a brow and watched the creature come towards her. The negative teruu went in to the oven. Um, okay.
So they just wait now?

Being led outside by the horsewomen Umi shivered. she thought about ruining back inside the dorms and grabbing a sweater or something to warm herself. But when she saw they were not going to their usual spot she thought better of it. She didn't want to get left behind.
She smiled and when she saw ovens and ran to the nearest one she could find and huddled in front of it to warm herself, being careful not to burn herself. She sighed with pleasure when she started to warm up. She looked at her ingredients and was happy to see that she didn't have to do no killing and skinning. She went to her ingredients and stared to mix them together
She hadn't been told what to make so she started to mix and mix until it started to look like lumpy. She shaped it to look like bread and putted it in the oven. She screamed when she saw the creatures coming out of nowhere and tryed to shoo one that climbed into her oven.

Auri was awoken by the sound of mumbling students. It looked like Dharu was waking them and directing the class back to the valley.
"Wha... what's going on?" she stammered, barely awake.
It looked like it was going to be a night lesson. Auri stood up from her mound of pillows and joined the queue. It was a cold night. Auri pulled her cloak close to her as the chilly breeze worked it's way inside the valley and past the students. Her teeth began to chatter.
"Aren't we in the desert? Why is it so cold?" she questioned aloud.
As they made their way into the clearing Auri noticed the little boxes which she had then learned were ovens. That sounded warm, warm enough to actually put up with the lesson if she got to be near one. Auri reached a shaking hand from her cloak and grabbed her tray of ingredients. As she waited for further instruction the ferret-turtle ran up to the prepared oven.
"What the heck is that?!" she shouted. "It looks... tastier than this junk," she stated as she lifted up her tray. She walked over to her oven and placed her ingredients inside.
Maybe she could trap one of those furry things in her oven and none would notice.

The desert night seemed to be just the other side of cool. Draven had not been quite prepared for the temperature difference, but he adjusted as best he could and tried to ignore it. Instead, he tried to focus on why they had been called out so late. What were they going to do that couldn't be done closer to noon?
His question was not answered immediately. Instead, he was left with more of them. Draven looked at his ingredients, noting that the sand rat was now hide-less and that everything was quite neatly spaced. He just... had to put them in the oven? Shouldn't he...do something first? Draven really had no idea. Cooking was not something he ever did...but the ingredients placed out like this certainly didn't look appetizing. At all.
Maybe that was the point? To turn something like this into food? What had their instructor said during the previous class?...Something about working with what was provided? Right. That had to be it. He would just have to do his best with...this. Draven eyed his work station and thought a few more moments before setting to work.
He began with the sand rat (it was actually kind of gross skinned) and placed it center stage on the tray. He then did his best to sprinkle the remaining ingredients on and around it. The flowers, eyebrow hair, and water were easy enough. The scorpion sting....Draven just placed it on top of the rat, for lack of a better idea. Yes. Roast Rat with seasonings. Pleased with his arrangements, Draven placed his tray into one of the ovens, and began to wait.
With his dish in the oven, Draven watched some of his fellow students work for a bit, then he sat down to wait for the oven to do it's work. Just how was he supposed to know when it was ready? How long did a sand rat take to cook, anyway? He was about to ask when their teacher clapped and pointed.
What were those? Strange little creatures came running up out of the darkness. Before he could react, one ran right into his oven. "What?!" Draven looked back to their instructor as she reassured them all. So that was it...they were making food for these things. That was...kind of neat.

Jove had not been expecting to be called out around midnight, but neither did he have much in need of preparation beforehand. He could have even worn his white nightshirt without discomfort, other than the learned awkwardness the pup would have felt to be under-dressed for the occasion. Social conventions still sometimes eluded him, but that didn't mean the little ghost couldn't have his behaviour shaped in the right manner.
So instead of arriving in his sleepwear, the little pup wore pretty much the same thing he wore all the time, regardless of temperature. He could be quite dapper even in the desert night, coattails flapping in the breeze, kicking up sand with his heeled boots...
His curiosity was piqued when he saw the shelves making one more appearance, his own with some sort of meat he didn't immediately identify as the exact same rat from earlier. His head tilted first one way, then the other, until one might suspect they had taken in a foxfire in fancy clothes rather than an intelligent, if somewhat tiny, student. But it reminded him of his first kill, in a way, and he was content to let the puzzle rest as he dashed over to an oven of his own. He never cooked before! This had to be the sort of thing Alessa did to make those delicious spookies!
With his tail wagging, the pup laid out all the ingredients and hastily shoved them into the oven, not bothered by the heat that scorched his little hands. He would hurt later for that one, but the temperature was inconsequential, whether it was the cold night air, or the heat the ovens had accumulated all day in the sun.
After the wait, his ears perked at the sounds of both students and sands stirring. A scuffling noise zipped past the pup, causing him to leap up with an excited yip as the teruu ran right up to the food he had prepared. They were making food for these things? Jove scrambled close, and all but stuck his head in his own oven to see if the creature was eating what he had prepared.

Luidaeg was quite startled to be pulled out of the communal dorm room by their instructor. He didn't mind, as such, but some warning might have been nice.
The chill of the desert night air was only slightly better than the scorching heat of the day. He was more than happy to enjoy the heat being given off by the ovens, which seemed to work by storing heat from the sun rather than any sort of fire. At least the timing of the class made sense now, anything put into these ovens during the day would probably be burnt to a crisp in moments.
He took his ingredients from their shelf and peered at them critically. He had no idea how to make them tasty, so he could at least make them look decent. He took a pan with raised edges and placed his sand in it. The murky water he used to make a little pool slightly off-center, and he put the creeping spines around it like some odd sort of trees. He rolled the skink eyebrow hairs into little bundles, placing them around the 'pool' like little shrubs. There! He put it in the nearest oven to bake, hoping that there was some presentation factor to their grades, because otherwise he was in trouble.
He was rather startled when an oddly cute little critter scampered past him and into the oven. He assumed it must have some special adaptation, it had to move over the hot desert sands after all, and the heat of the oven did not seem to be bothering it. They were cooking for the Teruu, huh? Better it than him, he was more than a little relieved not to have to eat his own concoction, and hoped the little guy enjoyed it's meal.

Lucinda set the ingredients out in a nice little star burst pattern on the tray. She took a step back and looked at it before reorganizing the pieces of the sand rat. It looked as nice as a makeshift meal could look she guessed. She wiped her hands on her shorts again, carefully avoiding any tears in her shorts so she wouldn't rip them open anymore.
She popped the tray in the oven and waited to see what would come and eat the meal she had prepared. It wouldn't be long though before small critters began to surround the oven. She looked at them and then at the oven, taking a step out of the path between them. She didn't want to get mauled today, especially because her shorts couldn't take it.

Reiko walked into class and was surprised but rather happy to see that they would be cooking today. Though her ingredients were a bit odd, she settled into arranging them into what she saw as a pleasing array-the two rocks in the center, with the spine on one side and the beak on the other, garnished with the skink eyebrow hair. Certainly a curious concoction...but, well, perhaps the ingredients were more delicious than they seemed.
She took them up to the oven, and placed the dish inside to bake. After about ten minutes, she jumped when Dhara called out and pointed, and watched the little creatures come running for the ovens. Oh, were these what they had been cooking for? Well, that...explained the odd ingredients...

Put the trays in the oven. Simple enough. Thankfully Hamika's wet grave site smell had finally worn off and she was as dry as a zombie could be without having her skin flake away. So still slightly damp, but not so much that she gave off that hideous smell anymore. She took her tray to one of the ovens at the end of the row. Gloved hands slipped the tray into it and she waited.
And then she say the turtles.
"They are so adorable!" she exclaimed with an odd girly girl hand clap skip action. She quickly broke out her notebook and wrote down what they looked like and drew a crude picture. They were so adorable!

Put the ingredients in oven? Those poor angry Salamanders, they would never scowl again. There they were skinned and gutted in front of Valentino. Val let a tear fall down, he wouldn't be able to keep any of the spare parts. those Teruu must have taken them.
Glaring, Valentino put the sheet full of ingredients into the oven. the heat almost set Valentino on fire, there were disadvantages to being undead. With a gasp he closed the door in time and let himself cool off.
It took ten minutes before Valentino could pull the ingredients out. As he did the Teruu set itself forward to receive the meal.

The values of all of your items are below. I have added them myself, but I could easily be wrong so feel free to check my math if you'd like. smile Note your final score and the polarity of your teruu at the bottom of your cooking post.
JD yawned dramatically. For whatever reason, Dharu had decided to summon them all for class in the dead of night. He was still wearing a silk nightrobe, slippers, and his mud mask, but he at least had managed to take the cucumbers off his eyes before making it back out to their little cooking zone.
He shuffled noisily over to his food tray, poking at the freshly skinned rat. It looked, he supposed, slightly more appetizing this way. Leaving the ingredients haphazardly shuffled across the tray, he slammed it into an open oven. He then flopped bonelessly on the floor and inspected his nails. Gosh, he had left his file at Amity. Things were getting really wack. Ugh, had he just thought the word wack?
In the time it took him to lean his head back against the wall and ponder this new intruder to his vocabulary, the food was done. Of course, it's not like they had timers, so it took another ten minutes and the smell of burning to alert JD that SOMETHING was wrong...
Fortunately, it seemed like one of the little turtle guys wanted his dish anyway, and waited impatiently for him to stop burning his fingers and successfully get it out of the oven.
