Liliana was trying to think about how good or bad being in Ernya at this point would be but her brain refused to do it. "We need to stay in the city here," she finally said. "It'll be easier on us."

Liliana couldn't focus enough to show Cain what has been going on. Instead, she snuggles into him. "I'll need to rest before I can let you know. There should be an inn nearby."

Kinetav Erth’azar Anima | Dark Avenger | Adept | Devil’s Eye Desert 7/8 (8/8 when using Exodus)

The time for hiding might just be over But that doesn’t mean I’ll go crawling back to the Light When the Darkness was what saved me first
Man always tries to justify his existence Man always tries to justify his actions and wills But does good intention clear them of guilt?
║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║
”From the Shadow, we crawled out….”
*Kinetav managed a faint smile to Krona as she walked in the door before his smile disappeared entirely at Krayth's grim command. Turning around and watching the Void Lord stand up, Kinetav managed not to fall over in amazement as he appeared to be as young as himself and Krona was, yet a Lord of a nation and a known veteran of combat. Kinetav took in his surroundings for the first time, still at home on this sacred ground of his Matron that seemed to make Krayth full of emotion, leaning against a table and at a chair that seemed to be in close and intimate contact with another chair at the head.
Seeing the Exodus on the table only made Kinetav more nervous as to what Krayth had to say as at first his brother failed to make a coherent sequence. His speech spoke of self-condemnation, of a war he had made against Grix and against all who would stand against him. A speech that was all too familiar to Kinetav, as an increased burden weighed on his chest although Krayth's burden was lessened. Drawing Edge, he dropped it on the table in front of him and literally flopped back into the seat, rubbing his hand in thought across his forehead at the question. The response that came back from him had a solemn tone to it and a sigh, making clear that Kinetav had no other choice in the first place:*
"Brother, your words carry a very heavy, yet true weight to them. I do believe us to the be the last of our kind, simply because they fear us and are in awe at what we can do. Even Krona here seemed to be in shock as she finally realized what was in my blade, or at least I assume she knows. The look on her face was to be expected, though... Perhaps, just perhaps, she will stick around long enough to get to know us well enough to not judge us for the souls in our blades. I know your pain, and I feel it so badly at the moment as I lost everything yesterday. I have no kin, nor a home. I know nothing here, and the one soul that might've given me at least a piece of the information I need to get a start in this world is in the more capable hands of our Matron. Although I am quite pleased that I finally made a proper sacrifice to her...she is deserving of that and more. When the sun rises, I will still be here, wondering just what step to take next or how to even get started."
”….and to the Shadow, we will return.”
║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║

To the Infinite Dark I scream An Oath that no man or immortal may break I am permanently condemned in the first place
The “non-condemned” often beg, often scream, often lie As Justice or just pure emotions finally catch them But I always know if I take a truly pure soul in the end

⇥| |⇤The Black Knife | Master | Lord of The Devil's Eye Desert | Anima | Dark Avenger Strength= 8 (9 wielding Beyruun)| Speed= 10 ❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙❚❚❚❙❙❙ Krayth's head rose and fell as a single, silent nod. The other Anima's affirmation did not make what he had to say next any easier. "Tomorrow, the Lords and Ladies of Rykros gather to face Vincent. His war killed Azur. Liliana says it was meant to; that all of this was meant to come to pass... because of Fate. Fate is real, and it imprisons each of us. I have never known this. All my life I have known hunger and hatred and suffering, and it was chosen for me. Yours was chosen for you. Tomorrow, the true war against Grix begins... I have waged this war alone, and I seek no army for it.
"I denounce fate, Kinetav. I will not be prisoner to it... I will not be kept from my beloved for all time because of it... and here, when Ba'Shev came to us, she erased the darkness within me. She opened my eyes to the truth. My Lordship endangers the Tribes, and clouds my judgement with conflict. I must be without it again. Only a free man can fight his fate... This is why you witnessed my deception. From the moment he left this tower, Adellos has been Lord of the Tribes. The stories say that Sky Tribe united the Tribes for many centuries before the Barons came. He has witnessed our powers firsthand, and has never betrayed my trust. We have bled and butchered the wicked together, and in delivering him from slavery I returned his tribe's name to him. It is a debt each tribe owes me, and they honor their debts to their death. The Desert will remain safe for us, but will know much more hardship before it is truly safe. Of all the threats, Adellos has told me that trade has stopped with Wormwood Marsh. He tasked Blood with gathering reconnaissance, but there have been complications... Are you willing to stand with me in this time of need; to help my people and Adellos through tomorrow's trials?"
The Anima spoke freely and kept no secrets in Krona's presence. He did not have the luxury of time, and it was necessary for the both of them to be aware. He was not sure that she could be trusted, but the information would be of greater value to her if kept in confidence. After all, revealing such intimate knowledge of a Lord's plans is never viewed as coincidence. Even a true informant would be squeezed for more information, much less one found to be a Voidsworn. He looked between the two of his companions, wondering on their response.

((I know this took me forever and a half. I'm very very sorry! It will not happen again. And if it does, nag me to death til I give you a post. Considering its summer its more procrastination than anything >_<)) ╔════════════════════════╗ "What injustice have you committed?" ╚════════════════════════╝
Kinetav's flash of a reassuring smile, did nothing to tame the hostility harnessed within her. She did not trust Krayth. Her mistrust made her feet tentative, her eyes nervous, and her body tense. Ever sense was on its toes, as she stepped into the room, every sense, tensed as the door closed behind her with deafening finality. She heard a voice coming from the shadows asking her to sit. Her eyes turned to the shadow from which the voice floated and she shook her head. "I am fine with standing." her voice was cold. She would not be caught sitting, venerable to possible hidden deceptions by this stranger. Her eyes followed the lie of shadow that lifted like a dark curtain, revealing the set of a play frozen in time. A play of horror, paused in intermission, its actors lost to time, and its set remaining behind as an eerie reminder of the plot that unfolded within the walls of the chamber. Faces screamed in agony through the black of stone cells, housed within a black table that dominated the center of room. Lavish furnishings, that once of shone with prestige and power, were now drenched dull with a brown that had once flowed hot and crimson to through the veins of ?. Blood. At the head of the black table where the star of the play stood. She had expected man wrinkled by time, weathered by wisdom, and broken by experiences. She was surprised to see that Krayth had the youth of herself, and black skin, starkly contrasting white hair, and chiseled handsome features of Kinetav. Only his were worn by the sorrow of a young man who had seen the sorrows of a lifetime. And he spoke as such; his words staggered beneath the weight of whatever emotions were storming behind the swirling violet of his eyes. Those clouded orbs turned to her. A press game from him, a strange connection of soul. Jumbled, images, scents, sounds emotions energies, flowed to her, and she could feel the same pulling away. The emotional distress she could feel now, tearing at her, did not rouse any sympathy in her, and her steely gaze made it clear. She held his eyes, till he looked away . Krayth began to speak again, and her gaze returned to him. Some of his words - Grix, the creator- recalled her conversation with Srin, and resurrected old questions. Some s- The Black Shev'Axjrum, Triwinds - birthed new questions. And others sparked little emotion at all. Loyalty and Trust were words that she had removed from her dictionary. They were lies that she did not intend to fall for ever again. Death was something she was accustomed to. He had lost his wife? She knew those who had lost so much more. Her response to his speech was only a curt nod. Impatience and Patience warred within her. Impatience was fueled by her weariness with the interruption to her plan, patience fueled by her need to know more about injustices of the world she had been thrust into. The man turned away from him then, and addressed Kinetav. Her eyes did not follow, but her ears were tuned to every word exchanged. What was this Omen? A promise...but to whom? Was it the master Kinetav had mentioned in his reason for killing Dominic? "Where I go is not a decision that is not my own. I go where my purpose takes me. I..." Her words were interrupted by Kinetav's. She turned t look at him, her brow furrowing men he mentioned her and what was inside his blade. And the truth about those souls was she intended to pull from him, one way or another. But she remained silent now. There was time for everything, and now was not the time. Something bigger was a t hand, and Krayth's next words confirmed it. A battle, perhaps a whole war, was brewing here, it seemed. And in its base was the death of Dominic, the deception of Krayth, and revelations of Srin. Her eyes narrowed. She had clearly involved herself with something whose scope stretched farther than she thought. Names she did not know, troubles she could not guess. She felt a bit like she was above, observing from afar, and she only needed to fall closer to see hoe immense what she was involved with truly was. The fate of the tribes, and of Adellos, was not something that mattered to her. Participating in the fight against whatever threatened them, would be involving herself in something unnecessarily. Yet, she saw benefit to her goal in it. "I must know something first." Her voice was a calm sheet, trimmed with mistrust , that wrapped about the room, " Both have you have mentioned a master. Ba'shev, and the The Black Shev'Axjrum to whom you have sacrificed souls, and with whom your loyalties lie. What are your master's reasons for wanting those souls, what are they doing the life essences of those you have killed, and will kill in whatever battle comes tomorrow? Or are you both just blindly following the word of another, ignorant to their intentions?" She hid her judgment behind indifference as she flicked her eyes between the two men, waiting for an answer. There was no personal connection between her and the events; she did not care about the fate of the tribes, about Krayth's revenge, about whatever politics were behind the events in the devil. Only one thing mattered to her. Justice. She did not side with the unjust. It did not matter what benefit it would bring to her goal. And the reasons behind the events were unjust, they would have a new enemy to deal with. Black Blood Dark Avenger Self-Proclaimed Harbringer of Justice Alligence to Self Creator lend me...

He was a monster, but one that was ever true to his word. His sister in shadow was no friend. Her posture, gaze and the coldness of her words made that very clear... but she was not an enemy.
"You are familiar with The Ritual, and The Oath of Binding. The shadow cast over your soul is proof of it, so it is with Kinetav; so it is with mine... Do you remember the black that took your offering, and the voices that brought you to it? They are The Infinite Masters of The Void. The Black Shev'Axjrum is one of them; I belong to It, and so does Kinetav."
The Void Lord turned to regard Kinetav and measure the weight of his words upon him. What he said next had far more gravity. "You have been among us. How long you've known Kinetav I do not know, but by now it should be clear what we are. We are Soul Eaters, Krona... we have many names, but that is what we are. The souls that we consume remain within us forever. They do not vanish. They do not die. Their memories become our own; their strengths become ours... but listen well, please.
"When we send souls to our Masters, they are not consumed. The fate of those souls our weapons slay is not the same as those we send to The Void. Those offerings become nothing. They cease to be. They suffer no pain and endure no suffering... they are simply returned to where they belong; where we belong, and will one day return to. They become the never-ending peace and unity of The Void, binding all that once was or never has been together in the silent dark. Everything was once The Void, Krona. Not long ago you looked into it, and heard our Master here. In Its presence I was given this revelation, and now my path has been made clear."
Krayth's fingers curled around Beyruun's long onyxian handle, and he raised it up in front of him with its blade resting on his other hand's palm. He glanced between Kinetav and Krona, and back down to his Exodus. "Kinetav, you and I have the power to choose a creature's fate. To unmake them, or make them suffer forever. We are young, Kinetav. I know the thirst inside of your Edge and your craving to sate it. We've known it our entire lives, and I doubt it will ever leave us... You could not have known then, but today that hunger made you kill an innocent. Had you slain him with your Edge, you would have seen that truth in his memories, and it would have haunted you to your grave. His death, and its circumstances... there was no way to stop it. I am to blame for this, not you, but know that in delivering his soul to The Void you gave him peace instead of pain, and spared him from a fate that he did not deserve. Just as he was a Vampire, we are Soul Eaters... we must judge a creature by its deeds, not its race, lest we become the very men who hunt and hate us for the same. Remember this day as long as you live. We will always stand at the edge of darkness, it is our oath and the fate of our bloodline together, but that does not justify succumbing to evil.
"Your life is your own and so is your path... but if we are all that remains of the Anima, the choices we make will echo through time. They will mark the extinction or salvation of our people. For the first time since I was a child, I've found acceptance. I have known love. Now she is gone, and those who were proud to call me Lord fear that doom returns to the Desert. If there is to be any hope of saving her, her people and our kind, we cannot lose sight of ourselves again." Beyruun softened in its brother's hands, drooped between them and then rushed up his right arm to coil around his neck. The Last Tal'Deraz was silent once more. This time, he did not speak again. He folded his hands together on the surface of that ghastly table, and waited for someone else to speak.

”From the Shadow, we crawled out….”
*The Anima leaned over the table, thoughts blurring together in his mind as he tried to sort out all of the day's events along with the current conversation. Everything was still in turmoil, even more so with the news Adellos now being the Lord of the Devil's Eye Desert instead of his Voidsworn and Anima brother. Kinetav was not at all pleased with this latest event, the war that his Voidsworn brother was waging being unknown to him and meaningless save that they were possibly the only Anima left...and there was only the single lead to follow as it was offered to him in the form of helping out around the nation. That familiar red seeped back into his right eye unwillingly as all of the events were beginning to wear on his tired nerves already before Krona began her tirade.
Even though they had spent so little time together, Kinetav was beginning to think that he knew a lot more about the Black Blood just by stereotyping her with her words; they were full of judgment, hidden anger underneath them as she delved further into the reason as to Dominic's death. Edge scanned her entire body's tenseness as its master began to tense up at the questions, the prying into the reason as to why Dominic was dead when it was by the Black Shev'Axjrum's order that he was finished off...along with an underlying desire in the Anima, but that was a pointless fact as of right then. To make matters worse, Krayth had even claimed that the man was an innocent, and that it was Kinetav's pure thirst that had made him kill an innocent. By now, Kinetav's hands were balled into fists and his entire dark form lurched over the table, mad at the fact that Krona knew all far sooner than he expected or wanted in addition to Krayth's speech of not succumbing to insanity. His mind screamed in horror with the thought of killing yet another innocent, a fact that he had barely avoided thanks to Krayth...but the Black Shev'Axjrum seemed to care not, the Anima reminded himself as he tried to convince himself that he wasn't a complete monster. The next words that spilled from his voice had an unsound conviction as he gave up an explanation before his eyes turned upon Krona:*
"...Dominic died because he spilt Voidsworn blood on this, our Matron's sanctified ground, brother. He ran into us headlong, and his axe buried itself into our Voidsworn sister's arm...Edge tasted her blood, screaming in a mix of horror and thirst into my mind. Thanks to Liliana, I could control it more easily...until I heard the Black Shex'Axjrum's voice tell me to kill, to make a sacrifice. It brought out an unnatural thirst I had hoped would be annihilated along with the natural thirst, but I guess it wasn't. For you to have stopped that kind of emotion, of rage...It took nothing less than being a Voidsworn and an Anima, as most everyone cannot stop my rage when it begins. As for your answer, Krona...wouldn't you say that you blindly followed the word of your Master when you completed that ritual, binding even your soul to the Infinite Dark? Do you think that they care about your justice? While I can care to an extent about such matters, I know for a fact that the Black Shex'Axjrum is happy with me for that sacrifice."
”….and to the Shadow, we will return.”
║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║ ║║║║║║

Her ears were tuned to Krayth’s words but her eyes were on Kinetav, observing even the slight twitch of limb. His distress was clear in the tightening of his fists, in the tension that consumed his body, and in the red that consumed his eyes. With his every action, her eyes grew darker, their deep green melting entirely beneath heated violet. Her lips pursed as she listened to Krayth explain the anima, the reasons behind Dominic’s death, and the truth about the masters the masters they served. Her mind whirled, processing the information. It was confused, lost in judgment, unsure whether to place the information given to her in the line of justice, or injustice. But the confusion was soon consumed by annoyance as Kinetav spoke, explaining his reason for killing Dominic…and accusing her of following. Instinct wanted her to snap at him; her better reasoning calmed her, and she instead spoke softly, addressing first Krayth, then Kinetav.
“I have told Kinetav that what you are does not matter to me. If you are anima, so be it. I could care less you could be demons, straight from hell, and I would not care. It is not what done that concerns me. It is the reasons behind the actions. Purpose, not performance. I do not care, what happens to the soul’s you send to the void. Death is death, and what happens is not my concern. If it is peaceful, so be it. If not, then, that soul must have done injustice during their lifetime to deserve such a fate, and it is fitting. It is reasons, for the souls being sent. So what are your reasons? To blindly sate the desires of your – not our – master?
“Do not call him my master. He is your master. Not mine. I pledge service to no one, I follow no one.” Her eyes turned sharp upon Kinetav, “When I bound to the void, I was not blindly following a call. I knew the price, and I knew the power. It is necessary to follow, and to make sacrifices to fulfill a purpose. My oath to the void was that, and only that: a necessity, spawned from a desire to thoroughly complete my task. Whether or not they care about my purpose does not matter to me, nor does it affect me. They have not called me, and even if they did, I would not answer their call. What obligation do I have to them? I fulfilled my obligation, gave them what they wanted, when I bound my soul to the shadows. They – no one – have no hold over me. Why would I serve someone whose values to not match my own? You say your actions made you master happy. But what of yourself? Do your actions satisfy you? Do your actions speak of the justice you claim to care about? It would seem not. Else Dominic would be alive.”

( 8 hour wait time in an airport is FUN scream anyways, here's a post to keep things rolling. Maybe I'll have some downtime in Greece to help on out, but I doubt it when the ball really starts rolling. )

”From the Shadow, we crawled out….”
*Kinetav's body relaxed as he heard Krona's words, trying hard to choke back a chuckle that threatened to make the situation even more tense as the Black Blood was being too serious as per her usual mechanical style of assessing the situation. Despite his best efforts to suppress it however, the brief statement from Krayth further emboldened Kinetav as he grasped Edge and leaned back in the seat now, clearly far more comfortable than before. Having permanently ruled out all Krona's potential ties to the Legion because of her words, the Anima also had pieced a lot of her being together mentally in all of her actions that he had witnessed: her position (or lack thereof, the Anima reasoned) in the Citadel when she followed him around for training gave away that she was not one of the Legion or really bound to the Citadel itself, the Black Blood so easily following but the slightest of leads that he gave her with training and then a prodding temptation. The Ul'thran Tower and the Black Shex'Axjrum's presence in it gave away much of the Black Blood's personality through Dominic's death, whether intentional or unintentional as the events showed just how mechanical Krona's thoughts were as to "justice". Finally, she had given to him information on her allegiance through her latest thoughts, even slightly denouncing her own Master/Matron if its thoughts didn't align with her own.
Black liquid seemed to flow down Kinetav's arm, chains forming around his wrist as the Anima just stared at his blade for a moment, fascinated with its recent and magnificent physical transformations. A small grin curled up at Kinetav's lip as Krayth had set him up perfectly for quite the staggering blow to Krona verbally, and the Anima couldn't help but take it. Although part of Krona's words were true, Kinetav had come to accept that he would never be satisfied with his own actions, a consequence of the natural thirst and lifetimes of knowledge in his Exodus. As the chains slackened a bit and Edge descended towards the ground, hovering about two feet from it, Kinetav swung it lightly as one would swing a toy while his eyes never left Edge's core. A confident tone came to his voice as he spoke once more, words slightly echoing around the room:*
"Ignorance is bliss, Krona, and nobody understands that more than my Voidsworn brother and I. Whomever you kill goes to the Void to be erased, or to the Dead Lands to roam in peace, you walk onward, content with your kill and "knowing" that you performed "justice". Whomever we Animae kill, however, linger in our minds and blades, their memories becoming ours to use as we please along with their strengths. We've witnessed hundreds of different views of justice, each one rationalized by each individual's beliefs and thoughts. So no, I am never satisfied, for there is no clear cut path to justice itself according to my views. There is no doubt in my mind that even Sephra justified her actions in some twisted way that you and I might be able to see, but she cannot as she and the other plague bringers have been said to have poisoned these lands for quite some time now. I care about justice, but not in the sense that you and I deal it, although I still deal it to the best of my ability. Our justice...pales in comparison to the real ideal of justice. All those people who tried to kill me back in my home world and fell to Edge still call me names in my mind, but I ask you this...whose justice was more rationalized? Was it theirs, and their view of me as a monster of darkness who had to be torn down, or was it mine, looking upon them as those who are too prideful to recognize even someone like myself as an equal simply because of my bloodline? There can only be one answer: both were equally rationalized and believed, as wars only occur when two sides are fighting for a "just cause." You will have to come to accept this, Krona. As Krayth said...Apathy is never just, and sitting out on a war is twice as bad as taking a side if you ask me."
”….and to the Shadow, we will return.”

To the Infinite Dark I scream An Oath that no man or immortal may break I am permanently condemned in the first place
The “non-condemned” often beg, often scream, often lie As Justice or just pure emotions finally catch them But I always know if I take a truly pure soul in the end

After much help, Liliana found her way to the caverns. Her hand ran along the tunnel wall as she guided herself into the area. She moved slow, careful of any tripping hazards along the way. A ping of pain lanced through her head as another vision assaulted her. A wave of green drowning the city without a sun. Liliana picked up the pace, hurrying to meet with Krayth.

Stumbling in her hurry, Liliana found the door into the Tower itself. Pounding on it, Liliana yelled, "Hurry! The sun shines of death and we're soon to drown!"
