"Joi, I don't mind it at all... I'm your knight aren't I?" He chuckled as he climbed up, the top coming into view. He smiled quite a bit as he kept climbing, watching the hand and foot holds as he did. She was resting against his wings, and it was one hell of a fall from here. He felt his hand slip at first and quickly switched holds, moving a bit sideways as he did. "Hang on tight, this next part is where I alway fall..."

Joi giggled, "Yes Jay, you're my knight." She hugged him tight, but when he slipped a little, she panicked slightly and clung tighter, her wings stopping their flutter so all her weight was on him now. "Jay, I don't want you to fall, can we just fly the rest of the way?" worry was in her voice.

"Shhhh... Do you trust me?" He asked her as he slowly started to climb a lot slower, working on making it up. It did not take long for him to get his hand on the summit of the mountain, he shook a little bit, and got them up on the mountain summit, then crawled a bit and sat down gently. "Made it!"

This was definately a strange situation for her, not just flying up to the top when she was perfectly capable of doing it. She clung tight to Jay, her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms around above his shoulders. She actually kept her eyes shut untils she felt him start crawling horizontally. She opened her eyes and seen that they were at the top. She quickly let go and climbed off his back. "Wow! You did it, Jay!" She grinned and moved to sit down beside him.

Jay smiled. "We did it Joi, together..." He chuckled and closed his eyes, then opened his eyes, watching the sun start to set. "Oooo, Look!" He pointed at the sun as it started to dip below the isle. "Isn't it just the most amazing thing you ever saw?"

Joi gasped looking out over the horizon. She'd never seen the isle from this vantage point. "It's gogeous! I'm so glad you brought me here, Jay." She stretched her legs out in front of her and lounged slightly, leaning bakc and propping herself up on her elbows to watch the sun set. She let her mind just got a little clear, not thinking of anything and just enjoying the peaceful moment with a small smile on her face.

Jay chuckled and just smiled, watcing the sun dip and disapear, when it was gone he frowned. "I'll go and get us a fired started..." He rubbed his arms together as the wind started to pick up. "It's going to be a very long night..."

Wait... what? Long night? She quickly got to her feet and followef after Jay, crossing her arms in front of her when felt the breeze. "Jay, what do you mean, 'long night'? Aren't we heading home soon?" She was confused and slightly worried. If she wasn't in her bed when her parents come to say goodnight, she was toast.

"Flying off the mountain in the dark would be suicidal... Trust me... I tried it on To'ul once... The wind picks up BAD on these mountains at night, we're going to need a fire and we're going to probably have to still huddle together to stay warm... When I tried to fly on To'ul I nearly got smeared into a tree... If the wind now is any intication, we are IN for a VERY long night..."

Okay, the full out panick was starting to set in, "Jay, can't sleep on the mountain, my parents will KILL me!" she fidgeted and started pace what what she gonna do now?

"Calm down..." Jay said as he started to lay out firewood and start a circle of stones. "For all you know they may think you don't want to be bothered cause you're so miffed... You missed dinner by now, so they might just leave you be the night thinking you're too mad to want to deal with them today... I know I would be if my parent's tried to ground me for something..." He chuckled and shook his head, starting to build them a fire. "I wish there was another way around it Joi, but there's not... Trying to fly or climb now would be as good as jumping off the mountain..."

Joi wanted to cry. The reality of her defiance setting in. Her dad was going to be so disappointed in her, so angry. Would she live through to be able to learn a lesson even? She sat down where she stood, and pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them, hugging them closer. She fought to keep the tears from coming. She didn't want to look like a baby and cry in front of Jay, especially after all that talk of not liking being treated like a kid.
"They don't just leave me alone. They never have." They were going to worry about her, she knew it. She felt awful now.

Jay looked over at her as he got the fire going. He moved over and then sat down next to her, wrapping an arm over her shoulder. He patted her shoulder with a hand and said. "Then blame me..." He said softly to her as he looked towards the fire. "Say I showed up and conned you out of your room, and spirited you off, and that you learned yoru lesson..."

Joi leaned against Jay and sniffled slightly. "I can't lie to them, Jay. I ..." she sighed deeply. "I will just take my punishment... if I live." She sighed again and watched the fire. This was going to be her first night away from home too.

Jay shhhed her. "Your father won't kill you..." He murmured and pulled her closer to him, brushing her hair with his fingers. "If anything, he will kill ME..." He sighed and closed his eyes. "I should have stopped by earlier, then we could have gotten you home before dark... I'm sorry Joi, this is my fault..."
