YOU KNOW A LOT ABOUT MARTIAL ARTS

Fenrir immediately brought his forearms together in front of him to guard against the force of the bear's legs. It would cushion the blow, but he still felt his arms shake from the hit. He knew this technique, the leg storm, it wasn't a deadly or crippling attack by any means but it could fend off attacks from all sides. In other words, he would have to hold off his pursuing attacks. The resulting impact also sent him hurling back several feet, but Fenrir expertly flipped back in the air and landed smoothly on his feet.

Glaring daggers at his opponent, Fenrir wasted no time preparing his next attack. Taking a strong stance, he channeled electricity through his body. Ki flowed through every muscle he had, increasing the strength of its contractions while remedially stretching them for faster recovery. This action would take up the rest of Fenrir's moment, so he would not be able to attack yet. Still, it gave him the preparation necessary for his next strategy to be successful. These would be the polar bear's last moments, he was sure of it. After noticing the blood oozing out of the beast's wounds, Fenrir had finally thought up a plan to defeat it.

Strands of lightning zapped across his shirt and face, sending waves of blue light across the the dazzling ice crystals around them. "You're a big one. But you know..." Fenrir said to the polar bear, as if these were his parting words to it. "You bleed as easily as anyone else." The faint hum of lightning grew louder as Fenrir's energy surge reached its peak, and then it would subside quietly into his body. The dark-haired human would then raise his left hand up for the bear to see, and beckon it forth with thumb and pointer finger extended. Meanwhile, his other hand took hold of the leathery handle of his knife. "Come on!" He dared the large beast, unafraid of its ferocity.

Energy Surge | Rank C
User courses their electric ki through their muscles while standing still for one full post, loosening and strengthening them at the same time. This will increase their strength and speed by 1 level for five posts, and has a five post cooldown after those posts are over.

Once the bear turned right-side up again, he did not rush at the patiently waiting Fenrir. Instead the beast crouched down, its large form hunching over and releasing a wave of ki at the young man. Though it would miss, purposely, and swarm just around the dark-haired human like a strange orb aligned halo. If it wasn't for an attack, it would be considered quite beautiful. The bear then slumped forward, its bloody arm seizing up as it tightened its fist to finish the attack. The dancing orbs drew down and in towards the trespasser. The polar bear roared simultaneously before gathering every bit of strength it was mustering and ran for Fenrir. It was a strange run as it seemed to zig-zag across the ice, making it harder for Tibbers to be focused on.

Hellzone-collision | Rank C
After firing an Electro-barrage at an opponent the user purposely misses them to throw them off guard. Instead of hitting the opponent, the numerous balls of lightning simply stay suspended in the air around them. Then the user clenches their open palm into a fist and the electro-bolts pull themselves into the opponent in unison.

Sidewinder l Rank: E
Description: A fast maneuvering technique where the fighter keeps low to the ground and sweeps side to side and rushes towards a target by moving at constantly shifting 45 degree angle turns. Excellent for dodging projectile attacks while closing the distance to an opponent.

Fenrir remained focused on the bear, even as the electro-bolts surrounded him. He already knew what was coming, having learned the technique himself. He could've avoided it, but he couldn't if his attack plan was going to work. He only had one shot at this. Fenrir tucked his hand into his pocket and clutched the pocket watch Darion had given him several months ago. When the electro-bolts pulled in around him, Fenrir activated the device to turn his entire body invisible, and the took on the full blunt of the attack. With his knockout training, he resisted the blast and used Ki to keep himself conscious. Now invisible, he used Ki to super jump away from the explosion and plant his feet on the ceiling.

Now came the moment of truth. Invisible, and having disappeared in the explosion, the bear would no doubt be confused of where his target had gone to. Even if he was still running about, Fenrir's continued focus on the bear would allow him to read the bear's moves. The sidewinder technique was effective against projectiles, but not full-body attacks, especially against someone who also knew the sidewinder technique. This was check-mate. Fenrir used his remaining energy to blast off of the ceiling and slam his elbow down through the bear's skull in a devastating surprise attack. The blow itself was so fast that it was infamous for knocking out anyone in an instant, but with the invisible blade of Ki still activated on his elbow the blade would pierce the bear's brain and kill it.

Lunging Blackout
Rank: A
Description: User uses massive power from his legs to blast himself through the air at bullet speed towards an opponent. Then he brings his elbow over his head and down onto an opponent's face or skull. Unlike the knee attacks, this lunge will not blast an opponent backwards, but it does generate power equal to or greater than the Falling Dagger technique as it generates all of the force onto the sharp point of the elbow. It is called the blackout because upon impact the force is said to cause anybody hit with it to lose consciousness for at least a moment, sending all opponents straight to the ground.

Resist Knockout
Rank: A
Description: User tightens special muscles via influence of ki at the last possible moment before an incoming attack hits, which can save the user from a sudden knock-out. This can only be used once during a fight.

Super Jump
Rank: D
Description: The user charges Ki into their feet and uses it to blast off of the ground. This allows them to perform miraculous feets like leaping across entire buildings or rising to meet an opponent in the air. This has a 3 post cooldown.

While any opponent would have been stumped by Fenrir's sudden disappearance, Tibbers was not. The human wreaked of a fine meal, of fine and other particles that made its mouth salivate and the nose does not lie. Tibbers head rose upward, following the trail until in the midst of confusion and bloodloss, the bear leaned toward back and fell. At the same time, Fenrir came soaring through the icy air to strike the beast at the pinnacle of action. The polar opened up its maw, anticipating the meal to come. An arm or hand, the taste of blood would be sweet. However, with the bladed elbow, it shot through the bears open maw and hit its skull and the mushy contents. Fenrir was not immune to teeth, or the scratches from them. He did win though, the bear's body went limp with subtle twitches as the nerves died. The blood soaked fur still soft under the mans weight.

Fenrir stood up from the fallen beast, still burned, bruised, and breathing heavily. That last attack took a lot of energy, but it was worth it. The test, it would seem, was over. Fenrir walked out of the cave but then sat down at its entrance.

His energy would recover quickly with time, but for now he needed to heal his wounds. The dark-haired fighter took a deep breath, sat upright with his legs crossed, and meditated on channeling his Ki to his wounds. Gradually the light burns and scratches he suffered during the fight would heal.

Some time went by and Fenrir's wounds continued to heal. The cracked ribs and heavier burns he'd suffered slowly recovered until he was back to tip-top shape. A trip to the clinic wasn't really necessary for fighters his level. They'd learned to heal most normal wounds on their own.

Afterwards, Fenrir stood up and started to make the climb back down the mountain. He wasn't happy with Mina for not telling him about these...creatures that would attack him. It was high time he let her know it.

Nero had planned on going to the training facility, but a cold draft as he was walking through the campus. Compared to the hot and tropical climate, the draft was like a breath of fresh air after being locked up in a dungeon for too long. It seemed to call to him, and the more he followed it; the colder the area seemed to get. Like a moth to a light he was drawn, until finally he was at the mouth of a wide open cave. Thick icicles hung overhead, and jutted up from the frozen floor. The place was as cold as a meatlocker, but even in his thin black T-shirt it didn't seem to bother the muscular blonde man at all. To the contrary, it felt delightful and welcoming; almost like it was where he was meant to be. Striding through the cave he found it slightly difficult to retain traction, but not impossible. Plopping down and resting his back atainst one of the spikes jutting up from the ground, Nero leafed through a few of the pages until finding the first stage of the style. It didn't take him long to figure out how to do it, and after stripping down to his boxers and submerging himself into a nearby pool of water, the fighter found it was quite easy for his body to withstand the low temperatures. After putting all of his clothes back on, Nero decided to move on to the first few moves of his main style.
(stage 1 learned)

The first skill didn't seem hard for him to learn at all. Scooping up some water from the pool he had submerged himself in with cupped hands, he placed it into a hollow in the ground. Dipping the pointer finger of his left hand into the icy cold water, within the span of a second or two the entire puddle of water was completely frozen over.
(frozen touch learned)

The next skill seemed next to useless to Nero, but he decided that it was better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Holding a single hand out, the stocky blonde focused his ki into a single point in the air in an attempt to freeze it solid. The cold temperature of the cave must have assisted him, because almost instantaneously a small and reflective disk appeared in his hand. Admiring his reflection for a moment, Nero simply tossed it aside afterwards.
(Ice Mirror learned)

The skill he was about to learn would be extremely useful, as it would allow him to traverse along ice without slipping or sliding. It didn't take much guesswork to figure outthat most of his training would take place in this very cave, so being able to sprint and jump along the icy floors would also probably come to an advantage. Focusing ki into his feet, Nero stood and began walking along the floors. This time, it was as easy as if he were walking along concrete. The man broke out into a sprint, before jumping as far as he could and landing on two feet. Just as he suspected, he retained excellent traction, not even sliding an inch forward. Soon enough ki wasn't even required, and traversing along the ice was second nature to him.
(ice stick learned)

The next skill in his repitoire appealed to Nero immensely, considering he was a boxer. It was pretty much a combination of boxing gloves and brass knuckles, composed entirely of ice. With the added weight behind his already immensely strong boxing punches, Nero had no doubt he could easily shatter an opponent's jaw with a cannon punch. Or even something as simple as a left hook. Focusing the icy ki into his fists, it didn't take long before the thick coating of ice materialized. Taking on his loose boxer stance, Nero delivered a punishing left hook to top of one of the jutting spikes. The top broke off as easily as if he were punching through dry wall. oh yeah, definitely some face rearranging material. I could give somebody a nice little makeover with that one. He thought to himself with a small grin before letting the ice dissipate from his fists.
(ice punch learned)

Ice slide... the skill reminded him faintly of a character from the movie 'the incredibles'. Ironically enough, he had been his favorite character in that movie. This skill took Nero a little bit more time to learn than the previous ones, but with a little bit of focus he still managed to get it down. Focusing ki into his feet, Nero settled into a low crouch before pushing his left foot out in front of him just as his book had instructed. In no time at all, he found himself gliding smoothly along the floor. He tried turning, but found that this technique could not change courses once one was selected. He could end it prematurely however, by simply standing up.
(ice slide learned)

Frozen Grip was the last skill he needed to learn. Indeed, it seemed as if the book had seemed to save the best for last. Instantly freezing an opponent in a fight? Sign me up! Imagine how many free shots I can get in, even if it's only a three second span, that's more than enough time for me to knock somebody's teeth out. Although simple in theory, this was the only skill that it took Nero more than one try to learn. He focused his ki into his hand as he always did, but this time nothing happened. Remaining persistent, the ki steadily flowed into his hand. He eventually stopped to take a short rest, allowing himself a small recovery time before attempting once more. This seemed to do the trick. within moments he felt his hand grow abnormally cold, and around it a strange aura glowed. It was only there for a moment, and then it was gone. A small surge of triumph overcame the fighter as he realized how quickly he managed to master the first stage of this style, and it was all because of the simple change of climate. he hoped all skills would be this easy to learn; though he highly doubted that. Snapping the book shut and standing up, Nero walked out of the cave and back towards the campus.
( frozen grip learned: training for absolute zero stage one complete)
