Dythus would have had too much difficulty avoiding that so he did what he could, as his armor took the impacts he simply gritted his teeth and stood his ground as best as he could. He rose to his feet and continued to resist the pain as he decided he needed to finish this quickly. He may have been better at pushing and pulling, but adding the force of one-hundred pounds to his blade was done as easily as lifting the blade itself, but due to him going instantly to the limits of his power he was starting to tire, this would be his last attempt at trying to injure Vincent.

"I...can't give up, I won't give up!" Dythus said as he made a forward charge once again, no matter how tired he was from basically adding weight to his sword to increase its cutting force he would endure, he would endure everything. Dythus made the mistake of swinging the blade high before bringing it down, giving Vincent a second or two to react, but he brought the blade down diagonally while at the same time putting his sword past Vincent's defensive range, meaning not only would the blade land if he did this correctly, but it'd do damage too, a lot of damage. He couldn't imagine somebody hitting him with a one-hundred pound knife, it'd most likely cut him completely in half, but his goal was to damage Vincent, not cut him apart.

"No backing down...no backing down." He continued to tell himself in his mind, that was the one phrase he lived by, he couldn't allow himself to back down, no matter what happened next, even if he lost he would have still won this battle in some way as long as he didn't give up, he learned that giving up was the way of humans, and he was no human. He actually didn't know what he was...he was no elf, and he was no Githzerai, if that made him nothing then he needed proof he existed, he needed proof of blood, he needed to harm Vincent to truly know that he was alive. He would stop at nothing to truly find himself, through battle was the best way he'd found so far, and the more he fought the more proof he obtained.

As long as this next strike did...something, anything he could be happy, if not then he'd only need to increase his training, he couldn't be left behind by others just because of doubt of his strength. No...doubt of strength wasn't the right thing, more like doubt of life, from being considered nothing everywhere he didn't even know if he was alive anymore, so far all he'd considered himself as was a weapon, a sword meant to kill, a shield meant to take blows for those too weak to do it themselves, that didn't help him believe he was a person, it only made his doubt deepen. He didn't know why...but he needed to do this.

((Posting later. But there is... An Issue. Riovas quit. He won't be able to get on enough to really keep active, and I keep hitting writers block. I can still post, but I can't really make it lengthy enough to your standards. I can punch in ten lines, but that's about it.))

(( Yes Rin, I have let them know. I'll work on finding someone, I have a few in mind. And, 10 lines is ok for a post. Just don't make it a habit. And ok post once we come back, this will be the last of the fight, I'm also gonna make an OOC thread so we can stop posting these comments stand alone in the actual rp. ))
Vincent Cryssagrim

Determination could be a good thing, it can inspire those under its influence to do great things, go great lengths, and accomplish seemingly impossible tasks. However, while it did these things, it could do many terrible things to accompany them. It could cause death, by not knowing when to accept loss, not knowing when a task is too much, as well as several others. In Dythus's case it had qualities of both sides. This kid just doesn't know when to stop. Vincent thought as the boy shouted. He could tell though this was the end, one final charge of inspiration. Vincent had seen this before, back before he was sentenced into exile. Several times his enemies did this, he wasn't sure if they actually thought they could win, or if they would rather die fighting than giving in to live another day. Whatever the case it never ended in their favor, and Vincent wasn't one for allowing firsts to occur with him.

Vincent watched as Dythus grew closer with every passing second. He swung the sword, 'Too soon' ,Vincent thought as he reacted to the premature swing. The boy countered for the swing though by changing its direction. Clever. Vincent thought quickly analyzing his way around it. So that's the only way huh. Even in the midst of this bold final strike, Dythus managed to think clearly, at least somewhat. There was no way to block, or move around the blade, not now anyways. The only way to stop it from doing a fatal move was to move the damage to a less important part of the body. Vincent's flesh met the blade, and it went clear though his appendage. In a last second effort, Vincent took the blade through his hand, rather than his chest. He let out a quick sigh of pain, then not thinking twice he finished it.

In a matter of motions Vincent ended the fight. "Charges like that tend to leave several key areas open Dythus." He said making a note on his form. None of the motions he had done made contact with Dythus, but he rather showed what would've happened if it continued. The example shown was him using his free arm to knock the shield back, then using his Kilij to cut the knees, stab his stomach and heart, then sever his throat. All the while Dythus's blade remained through his hand. These last remarks showed a different side of Vincent, rather than the trouble-making, show off from before, he seemed like an austere, teacher, trying to show him his flaws.

"Vaš čast je zadržala." He said removing his hand from the blade. His hand was trembling from nerve damage, but it didn't seem to phase him. He sighed and walked to his bag which he laid on the ground with his Talwar and sheathe for his Kilij. He opened it and removed some gauze which he proceeded to wrap several times around his hand before returning to Dythus. "Idemo nazad unutar pre nego što su osumnjičeni nešto." He told him before putting his Kilij back in its sheathe, and then returning his weapons to their places on his body. He then waited for Dythus to lead the way back to the feast.

(( Ok I found a new Noctis. Gotta post guys. Once we get out of this blasted castle things start going fast. ))

Dythus' eyes widened as his blade struck deep, but before he could react the battle was over, in a way he hadn't expected it to end. Dythus was embarrassed, he'd known that doing this would leave him open, but he was too far gone at the moment to change his stance. He didn't even know why Vincent bothered to show him what areas were open, if he wanted to he could have just shown him one move that would have basically been instant death. Dythus looked away from Vincent and sighed before walking away from Vincent to pick up his cloak, he didn't feel like he still had his honor, he lost after all. "I could've won, but I was too blind...too childish to do so." Dythus was unwilling to sheathe his blade now, his hand gripped it tightly as if it were his life. With a few swift movements he was wearing his black cloak again, hiding his face once more.

"What...?" Dythus asked before turning back to Vincent and pulling the hood of his cloak down. "Honor...are you serious?" Dythus asked, the look in his eyes were something akin to admiration, he was still fairly young and found it easy to view others as something completely different. When Vincent said he still had his honor it changed his view of him, but Dythus didn't want to say that out loud. He then remembered they had to get back with the others, he scratched the back of his head and looked at the ground. "Uh...r-right." Dythus sheathed his blade and placed his shield over it before walking back to the feast, he'd yet to cover his face again, oddly enough. He took his seat again and crossed his arms before closing his eyes, he was...content somehow.

"Sorry that took such a long time..." Dythus said in apology to everybody, he didn't know why, but he felt better now, somehow after having an unavoidable and unwinnable battle. He guessed he didn't need to talk to Vincent anymore since they'd said more than enough with their swords, like the look in his eyes he had a little while ago he actually kind of admired the guy now, he was pretty good in battle and knew about the basic weaknesses of his opponents according to what Dythus had observed, but he would never just come out and say that. After all of that Dythus was thirsty though, he had never had wine before and was unwilling to try it, he didn't know what effects it'd have on him so it could have been dangerous.

He guessed now it was time to try to get to know somebody else, but he didn't know what to say, he had no similarites to other people as far as he knew. He wasn't even that similar to Vincent, but he was at least able to ask one question. He opened his eyes again and glanced toward the princess with his crimson red eyes, he'd yet to wonder about his companions. He had nothing positive or negative to think about any one of them, which was pretty odd, probably because he'd only learned of them through battle, and he'd only fought two people. Ziza and Vincent he had no real problems with, but the others...he wondered what he could find out about them.

[OOC: Sorry if I don't post a lot...I don't have much to work with]

███████████████████████████████████████████████

All this fighting had Eleanor thinking. Though they were not truly fighting but more like sparing, she wondered if they would continue this during their travels, if so, she figured that she would most likely have to fend for herself when the time came. She sighed and finally put a single piece of food in her mouth though it was rather bitter in her mouth. She wanted to put her trust in these people, but for now she had trouble doing so, even her trust to Noctis was weakening after his little outburst. Eleanor began to question if this was even a good idea at all. After all, they were all strangers with their own intents in mind. Who knew what they were keeping from one another and to her and her father. The more she thought about it, the more she became uncomfortable with the situation. She would have liked to go with Noctis alone with several other guards, she would certainly feel more at peace at the moment.

Oh, how she hated feel distrust toward others and being so judgmental. All this worry and stress was beginning to get to her and she felt like she would simply burst out her objection to this any moment. Of course, she kept her mouth shut and simply sat there sulking deep down in her very soul. Eleanor continued her happy front and it was easy to keep it up, it wasn't the first time she's ever done it. These people didn't know her so they would be unable to read her easily as her father or Noctis would but for now, she would force herself to truly be in a good mood. When the two came back, she smiled and shook her head, "There is no need to apologize, I am sure you too are tired from your sparing, do be sure to eat something to regain your energy." She simply smiled warmly to the two and waited for them, including herself to be on their way.

Eleanor had failed to eat all day other than the piece of fruit she just ate and she knew this would affect her along their journey, but it was her consequences and she would take them, though it would take more than just one day of not eating to bring her down.

Vincent Cryssagrim

Vincent chuckled at Dythus's response. He had shocked him with it obviously. The fight brought back a fraction of Vincent's old self, before his sentence to exile, before his 're education'. It wasn't anything much, but he didn't seem like much of an a** after the fight. His hand was still trembling from the wound, it didn't matter though, it would heal soon. The matter at hand was much too important to worry about small things like that.

Upon returning to his seat the princess acknowledged their absence as nothing more than sparring. Good. Vincent thought, that pretty much took care of any negative repercussions that may have fallen upon them for fighting, outside in the great hall no less. "Thank you princess, but none the less I must apologize for making a scene like that." He said in response to her statement. At that he took another sip of win which had been poured into his glass sometime after he'd stepped out before.

He had the feeling he could get along with Dythus. With that whole ordeal out of the way he felt no tribal hatred towards him, at least not for as long as the mission was on. Afterwards, well time would only tell. The others however, Vincent still really didn't give a damn what they thought or did. With his companions on his mind he took the time to analyze the other three. Ryonara, a golem, a mysterious past, and apparently responsible for the Blood River Massacre, that is indeed impressive. He hated Ryonara for killing his kind, but he was capable to defend himself and wouldn't jeopardize the princess, so he would be tolerated. Ziza, a traveling merchant sprite, who's motives aren't entirely clear. Ziza didn't look much like a fighter, but she made up for it with other qualities. She could fly, and could use magic, and her being a merchant gave her plenty of experience in bartering and negotiating, all of this could come in handy. Noctis, trained to fight, but too headstrong, he could easily get us killed with that quality, however their was definatly no chance of him trying to betray the princess, loyalty had its perks. Vincent rather disliked Noctis for his performance in the Great Hall. But, personal feelings didn't matter at this point so he wouldn't be quick to judge. Dythus, he could handle himself in a fight, but had much to learn. Vincent could deal with Dythus, for the time being at least, but he'd need to be taught how to not make rash decisions in a fight.

The princess, his eyes finally made their way to her. She was young, fragile, and sheltered. Vincent could ascertain in one look she didn't want to go. Wonder why. Vincent thought in sarcastic tones. Her statements from before were quite adorable to tell the truth. Her being able to handle what they could was as believable as her father winning the war. Vincent had no faith in her, and he expected her to need their help at almost every turn during this journey.

All the while he thought this, he ate the food on his plate. It was decent, for human cooked food. "So tell me princess, have you ever been outside of Sorl?" He asked looking her in the eyes, he made a point of making eye contact while talking. You could tell what a person was truly thinking when look them in the eyes.

(( I'm going to give Ryonara, and Norschtalen until after the Christmas Holidays to post, then I'm replacing them. Sending PM's upon this post. ))

{OOC:}

███████████████████████████████████████████████

It was hard to sit there with the others looking at her probably thinking how she would be unable to go through this journey without whining or asking for some form of help. She sighed again though it was more of a mental sigh. This would be a long way to the lands of the elves but none the less she knew there was nothing she could do but go. Her eyes had left everyone's face and stayed on her plate full of food that had slowly gone cold. Her conflicting feelings were making her feel uneasy, they were specifically making it seem as if she was unsure of the journey away from home. In the end, she wanted to go, she wanted to experience more of the world but she only worried about her father.

Her glance left the plate and she looked over at Vincent who was speaking to her, asking her if she's ever been outside of Sorl. How was she suppose to respond to his question exactly? In fact, she's been outside of Sorl just once, but that was a long story and her father never heard of it. Eleanor has kept that a secret for him because she knew that he would increase security if she did tell him. She was certainly not ready to tell him now so she would simply lie and say she has not. Eleanor cleared her throat, "I have not been outside of Sorl before, which is why I am excited to go off to the lands of the elves. Though it is my duty to leave my kingdom for my safety, I will try to get something else from this journey. I look forward to it and I hope we can all get there safely though that may be difficult and I am aware of that."

When she finished, she smiled at him and went back to her food and managed to eat a small piece of fruit again. Her appetite was completely gone by now but she would take some food with her just in case.

King Moriate

Moriate simply watched as the fighting ensued between the elf and the Gith. He still sat, lost in thought. There was something between the two that had started the duel, something personal. what it could be, the king had no idea. He simply hoped that it wouldn't affect their duty. It was over soon enough, with both of them apologizing for the interruption. Moriate simply inclined his head, not bothering to say anything, as Eleanor had done that for him. He ate with care, slowly, in order to continue his study on the group gathered. The fairy, Ziza, was a curious subject. Being a fairy in these lands was rare, and Moriate wondered why she had been here in the first place. Whatever it was, he was glad that there would be another woman for Abby to interact with, as well as possibly protect his daughter's virtue, if anything.

All in all, the group was a diverse one, one with many races represented. This was even more ideal, as it showed the outside world that all races were considered equal enough to escort the country's princess to safety. he couldn't help but be satisfied. However, he was still concerned over Noctis. The young man had grown up with Abby, but he was still a man, and a hot-headed one, at that. The king could only hope that the young man remembered his duty. It shouldn't be so hard, since he'd been doing it all his life.

[[OOC: Since Aran can't come on anymore, should I make some sort of excuse for Noctis to not be able to go? I can make it temporary, in case Aran is able to come back in the future. I already have an idea in mind.]]
