While some of the others were talking about something of phoenixes and who they were during their trials, Deryk watched as Ryan brought out his weapon to show. They were indeed a pair of solid gauntlets.

"Oh nice! Those look pretty cool too. Nice claws. Probably could do some nasty damage to someone's face. Ouch," he nodded.

Shooting a glance towards Candace and Gale as they spoke about their division leader, he made a few mental notes to not mess with the guy too much. Actually, it made him a little nervous to hear that their leader was one hell of a jerkface. Right now, he was kind of imagining if it were as if Otto was their leader.

That would suck.

Jerry gave a surprised noise in his throat as Reine suddenly hugged him, his face flushing, "Ahahah... hi to yourself too!" The chatter behind him from the people overhearing made his smile fall. "Fiver?" He recalled a friendly young man who had given him that nickname... huh! About give a friendly retort, Leon's comment made his face go almost as red as his burns. He let go, turning sharply to face him and Otto, "Petra was no traitor! And if she is, then so am I!" He snapped, "Just because... because you didn't like our choice in leadership!" He wished Jordan hadn't run off. He was trembling again, Roar flickering at his neck temptingly.

It was all too much too fast. All he had wanted was hopefully recruit a few more people into his silly project, but with insults and words like 'backstabbing' being thrown around... "There was safety in numbers and being united! If that makes us traitors, then what does that make you lot?" Oooh he was getting angry.

"Safety in numbers?" Ottos sneered. "Is that why ya'll killed off two people on that beach? Was there a capacity cap I ain't known about?" Otto huffed, turning his head from the man with the glasses.

Ryan couldn't help bit smile at Deryk's comment. True, if anything, he could tear someones face to shreds and at least he wouldn't have to worry about ever dropping Locke in battle--or losing him for that matter. Well, maybe he would have to when he was de-summoned...

"I'll be sure to do just that." He agreed, looking at Deryk's weapon once more. It really was a neat weapon.

It was a bit strange to see the group go from friendly and laid back, to tense and angry in a heartbeat. Obviously these people all had a history together and judging by the mood, it must have been a bad one.

Really, he was sooo glad he was not a part of that trial.

"I don't know what happened with you lot, but it was in the past guys. You should just leave it there."

"Ah I see, well glad to see you at least made it out of that hell hole, Candace. Nice to uh... meet you officially?" Aleister seemed to be questioning the terms in which they were meeting, none the less though he gave a small smile.

Someone, Jerry; had said something about singing... "Uhh.. what kind of singing?" Of course he'd missed the fact that Jerry was getting mad at Otto.

<You can sing?>
<Depends on who you ask Pookie....>
<That's not my name...>
<It's a nickname.... Garfield calls his bear Pookie, and since your name is Puca, it fits.>

There was another sign from his weapon as he frowned watching the boys bicker. "Um..." He looked at Candace, "Do you think he realizes that... tough guy's just a sour puss?" He nodded towards Jerry when he asked that; hoping that there wasn't going to be yet another fight.

"Look, hatchling," Jerry breathed deep, trying to keep himself calm and collected, although the stern glare of someone who had seen more than just a horrible Death Pony was locked on the new recruit, "It was a *trial*. It was a test of moral and strategic fiber as far as I can recall. It was horrible, but it's been over now for *months* while you lot slept. Get a few more missions under your belt and then *maybe* what you have to say about it all will be a bit more founded." He snapped. "I'm sorry to ANYONE who feels their trial went unfairly. But you know what's more unfair? The threat we're up against. We are ALL Hunters now. We are ALL on the same side. Whether we call ourselves Suns or Moons or Pheonixes or Unicorns it doesn't really matter. We are here to destroy the Halloween Threat," He jabbed a trembling finger into Otto's chest, his face still contorted. "You have *no idea* what we are up against."

Well wasn't this a heaping pile off bullshit. And here he was hoping that they could grow up and get over it. He could only echo Jerry now. "You guys really want to dig up PAST bullshit?" His voice wasn't angry but rather neutral. "You guys seriously want to drag up s**t that happened in our trails, s**t we were encouraged to do, under the assumption that we had to kill each other to survive? Sorry, but I don't know if you guys have realized it yet, this isn't the trials. You're on teams together, and will have to work with each other, frankly? Acting so bitter about who killed who is a load of crap."

Arms crossed as he leaned against the wall. "Nobody I think can say they didn't attack anyone, or try to kill anyone. So to be so offended that others did what you might have done, either in the same situation or not, is the pot calling the kettle black. In the trials we were told to kill, and that is just what many of us did or tired to do. Now we're awake and we're hunters. We're supposed to fight to protect mankind. I think protecting mankind, or hell, protecting my teammates, if a hell of a lot more important that lingering in the past."

A deep breath. "I really don't like fighting, but this s**t is ridiculous. You have an issue with others and take that into a mission? You want to make enemies? Those of us who've watched Dr. H and Caelius can tell you, they don't put up with bullshit. Ask any of us and we can tell you how close some of us came to death last mission. Point is, you carry that baggage around, I am willing to bet it will come and bite you in the a**. You don't have to like someone, but jesus." He sighed again. "Jerry, don't let em get to you man. they're not worth getting into a scrap over."

Cass didn't pipe up with any additional commentary as it was when it boiled down to the nice speeches being given. Jerry's appearance was plenty of back up for what it was he was saying, and as it was her own bandages didn't really throw that much wood on the fire. What needed to be said in the situation had been said. Jerry had said it, Marcus had said it, and the mist hunter just lifted her own hands to clap them together.

A slow clap.

"Watching how some of you from the trial are acting now tells me why they didn't wake you up with the rest of us." She said simply. There was only a small amount of judgement in her tone. It was disappointment. If this much bickering and grudging had been pulled out of the original group, they would have all died. Not in the haunted house, but on that first beach. Hell, she knew she would have gotten herself acidified all over the place if Marcus hadn't grabbed her and tried to get her to cool her jets and patched her up. She was fortunate she hadn't gotten herself killed already.

"I'm not going to get myself hurt or maimed for idiots. Go run Deathsweeper in a group a few times then imagine you're doing it without the golem. It'll give you newbies a little perspective."

"Nice to meet you too, Aleister." She didn't bother to mention 'hey I killed you, no hard feelings?' as that was something in the past. If it was brought up to her? She'd apologize. She'd been doing a lot of apologizing lately why the hell not just add some more to her list.

Jerry's body moved from the force of someone throwing itself at him and even Candace stumbled, turning to see who it was.

...Some girl was throwing herself at Jerry. She tensed, eyes narrowing just slightly as her hand took a more possessive hold on his hand. Why was she hugging him? Get off, b***h. Shoo. Go away. "Friend of yours?" She asked Jerry in regards to..Reine. Why is she hugging him.

It started with Leon. Petra being the backstabber? She gave him a look, a disapproving look. What had she done lately that--oh. He meant..during those trials. ********, no. Don't bring those up. Seriously, Leon. You know better. And then Jerry chimed in, too. Oh no. Nonono. Candace rubbed her face with one hand, covering her eyes a moment. "Boys, it was a stupid trial. I thought if it like a video ga--" And then Bratface jumped in about beach killings. Candace dropped her hand and gave Jerry a surprised look. "You killed people? You? I'm impressed." Candace gave his hand a squeeze until she noticed the flashing of his whistle. Wait..oh no. Not in here, Jerry. No way. Candace continued to hold his hand, giving it another squeeze as her free hand affectionately rubbed at his arm.

"Jerry, baby. He's just a dumb kid who can't let go of the past. You know as well as I do he'll let it go when one of the leaders chews him out for it a couple times." Candace cooed to the steadily increasingly angered man. She gave a nod to Ryan, who had the right idea. "And notice you're not even dead? This isn't highschool, dumbass. You can't just go around throwing grudges at everyone because oh no he did something not cool during a trial of survival~~~~~! okay?" She shook her head at Aleister and opened her mouth to say something until Jerry spoke again.

...Oh, Jerry. Why are you so attractive when you're angry. It just wasn't fair. Candace's eyes widened a little as he snapped at the blonde kid, biting her lip and trying really hard not to smile. She preferred happy-go-lucky Jerry, sure...but he was so cute when he was angry! "He's right. If you can't let go of a grudge you probably won't be trusted."

Like you, Madame Hypocrite? How dare you speak of trust when you yourself are the biggest <******** up this facility has probably ever seen. Candace's grip on Jerry tightened for a moment as she put on a far too sweet smile, breathing in slowly and deeply before letting out that deep breath so as not to take her own rings and throw them on the ******** ground.

She raised a hand. "I shot a guy in some cornfield annnnnnd then I killed nine people." Candace announced like this was some kind of AA meeting, looking around with a 'What?' expression. "No, I'm not bragging. I'm saying...hey...if anyone's got a problem? Come at me, bro. But seriously. Get the hell over it. Marcus is right, don't let this get you worked up. It's done, it happened. Yay! You're all alive and healthy and awesome!" Now shut the ******** up!

...She left that part unspoken.

"Halloween? Like the holiday? We're fighting a holiday? How does that even work? Step on pumpkins and stuff like that? Wreck decorations? Steal candy from trick or treating kids? I don't think I like this idea too much any more," frowned Deryk. What did any of this have to do with helping out humanity? It sounded more like wrecking people's fun more than anything else at first thought.

"Huh... uh. Nevermind. Tooley explained. But uh, can we settle down? No need for grudges. All a team now right? Not gonna end up killing each other again. I hope."

"Yeah there was a fair amount of Zeta's here mate, and alpha's too" Leon said in reply to the hat wearing hunter with a skeptic eye, they guy was safe to say......... flashy with his attire. Not to mention the guy wasn't far away from his own dorm. Oh joy. "And its nice to finally meet you, Zeta 12" he offered his hand to the guy when Jerry decided he wanted to turn into a tomato and put on a excellent bout of anger, the guy had an angry side, who would have thought.

"I had no problem with the leadership, I had no problem with Petra leading us." he said calmly, eerily clam at that as he closed the distance between the two. "You were also fine with her as you followed like a lost puppy, And yes, I did put my faith in her as did the other Zeta members in the beginning." If anything he put far too much faith in her as he scowled deeply at the memories. "You seem to forget about how she was nominated to be Zeta's leader at the beginning, and look how quickly she defected to Alpha's whims." It was clear he still felt bitter about that desertion, past golems or not. It still spoke volumes to her character.

"Yeah, would you like to count how many members you left behind that day Jer? Did it feel good while you gallavanted with another team, did you for once think about the team you left behind?" It really was a sensitive topic, one that was still uneasy to bring back up, but it was the only time he was able to talk about it, when it was all over. "Remember how we tried to make it so that the 12 who survived was from Zeta, you want to find out how many of the former group are still asleep there, sun hunter? Jerry really wasn't the only one who could get angry. However having such a topic in a public place really knew how to take the edge off as he heaved a sigh. "Some things were just better off unknown and forgotten, I suppose."

Was this going to happen every time a set of recruits woke up, that at least took part in the trial. "It may have been awhile for us, but for those who took part, its still fresh in their minds, or in my case, still pent up." That trial showed peoples true colors, and it wasn't just red, orange and pink and whatnot. Just talking about it felt exhausting , like the day was never going to end as he flopped against the wall.

"It didn't feel like a video game," Harrison said, appearing behind Candace with half a smile. The trial wasn't so much water under the bridge as not throwing stones at glass houses. "Bunch of new guys, huh? Anybody that goes by E-8?" He felt a certain stab with the question that didn't have anything to do with knives.

But maybe
. And he thought he heard Epsilon. E-8 had said...he'd promised....

Geez, this was really starting to take a turn for the worse. Just about everyone was on edge now and they were definitely at each others throats. Damn it... all he wanted to do was go exploring! If only he had woken up half an hour earlier.

"Err... should I just... go...?" He asked quietly, unsure if he should stay put or leave them all to their arguing and get the hell out of the way.

"Defected..." Jerry's hands were trembling as Leon rambled on, his mouth twitching as he reached up for the whistle that hung around his neck.

Now is not the time, dude, Roar sighed, although his protest was only half hearted. Any time was a good time as far as he was concerned, but Jerry was having issues enough as is without being bullied by the rest.

"So you're saying because she elected to WORK WITH others instead of killing them..." His shook his head, trying to comprehend the entire situation, "Who did I leave behind? A bunch of... of.... racist.... jerks!" He still couldn't bring himself to curse, but he was oh-so-close. "It's not like you had given two... two shakes about me in all that!" He couldn't hold back anymore, Roar materializing in his arms, "If you want to fight, I would be more than happy to *prove a point*."

Thus far, no damage had been done to the hallway by way of monster-faced bazooka. Hopefully it would stay that way.

Glancing over at those who were bickering, Deryk took a step back, feeling a little uneasy at all the tension that was going up right now. The guy that had been singing just moments ago didn't seem so happy any more. In fact, he appeared to be pretty damn pissed right now.

Enough that he suddenly had what looked like a bazooka or canon in his hands.

"AH! Don'tshootdon'tshoot! Big blast, small area. Baaaad idea man," he sputtered out while backing away from him. Sure, it might just be an intimidation technique, but he had no clue how trigger happy the guy was. If he decided to fire that in this hallway, it could get them all killed!
